IMac Intel 10.6.7 dont convert my blendfiles any longer

Hello
For years I have animate on Blender 2.4 - 2.5.7 64 bits  and have converted plenty of blendfiles to videos at Vimeo and YouTube. But after Apple upgrade iMac from 10.6.6 to 10.6.7 64 bits  there is no longer any possible way to get my blendfiles converted to videos.
Thanks
Karl

Ignore all these suggestions from the post above. They won't help, may be harmful and slow down your computer even more. Do try a Safe Boot, SMC and PRAM Resets, remove any login items, and test from another account.
Remove all items in your:
/Library/Caches
/Library/LaunchAgents
/Library/LauncDaemons
~/Library/Caches [~ - Signifies your user level, the others were the main computer folders]
~/Library/LaunchAgents
I finally found the Activity Monitor.  I selected All Processes and see the %CPU but I don't know what I am exactly looking for.  I clicked System Memory Free: 419.7 MB Wired 144.4 MB  Active 261.6 MB Inactive: 202.4 MB  used: 607.9 MB  VM size;  40.98 GB  Page ins: 62.19 GB  Page outs: 33.42 GB  Swap used: 1.76 GB
You do not have enough RAM to run Snow Leopard. 1 GB is not enough. It is clear from the Page ins/Page outs, you are starved for memory.
Also, these symptoms might indicate a failing drive, which the native SMART won't necessarily detect until much too late.
Get the free demo of SMART Utility.

And if you don't already have one, make sure you have a full, reliable backup on an external drive to restore if and when the drive does fail completely.

  • IMac intel core 2 duo plus 20" apple monitor any performance issues?

    Hi,
I am considering adding a second monitor to the setup above.
    Hardware, 2gb Ram, 256megvram, 2.33 ghz.
Has anybody tried the new iMacs with this particular setup? I'd like to add a second monitor, but not if it will downgrade performance substantially.
    thanks

    mcgyver,
If start up and shut down look correct then something is set or corrupt in the user options. To test this, add a new user and signon as them.
    Regards
Edit: I don't use 10.5.8 anymore so the following suggestions are for 10.6.5.
The things that may affect your display are:
System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing Tab. Display: Make sure Enhance contrast slider is set to normal. Use grayscale is unchecked.
System Preferences > Displays > Color tab > Display profile set to display or iMac. Whatever the default is on your system.

  • How can I upload digital video from a HDD camcorder to iMac Intel?

I bought a Sony DCR SR100 camcorder with 30 gig HD, and the software that comes with it is Windows only, and the Mac software that they refer you to on the internet says "not Intel Core compatible"
So get this - the online support guy from Sony says to get a digital to analog conversion card to load the video thru the AV jacks. I reminded him that I'm starting with digital video in MPEG2 on the camera's hard drive - which is essentially an external hard drive. Converting to analog didn't sound right.
So there is an easy, no-brainer way to do this I'm sure (that is I hope)
Thanks a lot for your help,
    Ellkabong
iMac Intel   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Sony DCR SR100 HD camcorder 30 gig (nice!)

The problem (I discovered) is that the files are "muxed" which means that the audio and video are somehow intermixed, so they need to be converted into a standard that iMovieHD can read, like "DV"
There is a shareware called MPEG STREAMCLIP that converts video into other things. I tested it and it does work. I just need to figure out the most efficient way to import, convert and open in iMovie.
    http://www.squared5.com/svideo/mpeg-streamclip-mac.html
I think it is universal which is cool.
I am curious about the workstation that you mentioned to run windows software. Where can I find that?

  • Connecting Serial Garmin GPS to iMac Intel

I was wondering if anyone has connected a Serial port cable GPS from Garmin to an iMac Intel using a USB to RS232 converter cable. I have a GPSmap 76S from Garmin and have not been able to get Google Earth or LoadmyTrack programs recognize the GPS. I have created a serial port through Bluetooth and downloaded a program from Keyspan ¨Serial Assistant¨, the program recognized the cable adaptor but not the GPS on the device list. Would appreciate any feed back on the subject. I contacted Garmin and they said that they do not have any experience with Apple computer at the moment and the compatibility. I contacted the company who made LoadmyTrack and they said they have had success connecting the particular model GPS with Apple computers but did not specify if they were the intel duo core and have not heard from them again.

I have a Garmin 12XL (very old serial connected GPS) and use MacGPS Pro software (terrific software, terrific support from the author! - http://www.macgpspro.com/). When I moved from my beige G3 desktop to my iMac, I worried about this but their recommendation was painless. I bought the Keyspan USA-28X usb to serial adapter (This is a dual mini-din to usb adapter, which I chose because my existing cabling fit the min-din serial ports on my G3 - but Keyspan's USA-19HS is also available for PC type serial cables). Keyspan offers a Universal Binary driver to support this. (I am using the Keyspan Serial Assistant as you are.) The MacGPS Pro software is also Univeral Binary, and I have no trouble getting the GPS info into my machine this way. Haven't tried getting GPS info directly into Google Earth though... Something else to play with later, I guess - I see the MacGPS Pro software now supports interaction with Google Earth.
Just a quick revision here... I see the GPSMap 76CS uses a different connector than mine - not sure about your GPSMap 76S - but the proper Keyspan device MAY be the "Garmin 010-10141-00 with
Keyspan USA-19HS" suggested on the web site I noted above.

  • IMac G5 V iMac Intel

This maybe not the right place to ask?
I will be buying a new iMac with in the next month i hope.
I currentlt have a old front slot loading iMac that has served me very well over the years. but things are geting hard to get for it.
I use my mac for internet, photoshop, illustrator, In design, Word and very few games.
What i want to know is if its worth me geting the new Intel iMac or trying to find a G5 iMac?
i have no intention of boot camping and using windows! but i read in one of the mac mags that the new intel machines dont suport Adobe products untill next year? i dont want to wait that long!

I would get an intel computer if I were you... I think that's the way things are going to be heading (obviously). If you buy a G5 it's already out of loop on any intel only apps. If you can hold off until after the developer's conference in August you might have a better idea of what is happening with Leopard and intel chips.
I believe that the photoshop discs (you'll have to check) work both for Windows and Mac... at least, that is what I was told when I went to a store to check for a price on it. I asked how much the Mac version was and the salesperson said that it was the exact same disk... anyway, if this is the case (maybe somebody could clarify this) then you could use the new Boot Camp (which allows you to run windows) and use it for running Photoshop, until the Adobe release a universal binary...
With Boot Camp you create a partition on your drive and you can load and run Windows natively on the Intel Macs.. that means you wouldn't have to worry about the slow translation time from Rosetta. When you are finished, you would boot back into OS X of course...

  • Getting lousy Image Prints from a Epson Stylus P2200 Printer & IMac (Intel)

Ok here's the health warning - I'm a recent Windows to Mac convert - so this may well be me - but here goes ...
I have an Epson Stylus P2200 Printer (which works great on Windows XP) and I am having trouble printing anything close to decent looking photos when its connected to the IMac. I've tried with both Aperture & Photoshop Elements - same problem/outcome. The photos come out in low resolution & v. poor color quality.
I'm using the Stylus Photo 2200 (FW) driver that came standard with the IMAC - but it has very limited features compared to Windows - I have selected a ICC profile (downloaded from Epson) that matches the paper I am using.
I suspect its me - but can anyone shed any light on where I'm going wrong?
Does anyone have any experience of this driver - is it me? or is there something I'm missing?
    Thanks
    Chris
IMac (Intel)   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   1.5GB RAM

I have two Epson printers, a 2200 and it's working fine with my MacBook Pro. Before you fiddle around with the Color Management, make sure your printer is in good working order and the latest Intel drivers are installed.
Banding is not normal printer behavior. You mentioned that you're using a scan of a MacBeth color checker chart. You didn't say how the scan was made, but I'm assuming you know for sure that the banding is not in the image. On my 2200 I might get bad color if I don't use the correct profiles but I've never had banding problems unless the print heads need cleaning.
    Here are my suggestions:
    1. Don't use the drivers bundled with Mac OS X. Download the latest ones from support.epson.com. If you haven't checked recently, check and download them again. The latest driver posted is 3.0aAs dated June 15, 2006.
    2. Epson's instructions with the latest 2200 driver is to do a "Reset Printing System" first, then restart your Mac before installing the driver and adding the new print queue.
    3. When adding the printer with the Printer Setup Utility, make sure you're adding the Stylus Photo 2200 that appears under the Epson USB or Epson FireWire category depending on whether the 2200 is connected to your iMac with FireWire or USB. Note that unlike the old PPC 2200 driver which has separate "printers" for Borderless and Minimize Margins, Roll Paper and Sheetfeed, the new driver installs only one printer. Roll paper and borderless printing options are now handled in the Page Setup dialog like the R-series printer drivers. (Unfortunately, this causes incompatibilities in a mixed PPC and Intel printer sharing environment).
    4. Run the Epson Printer Utility and use it to check printer status and do a nozzle check. This will help check if the Mac is communicating with the printer.
Now you can start making your test prints. Most likely, you'll be using the Print Settings and Color Management options in the Print dialog frequently. If the prints are coming out halfway decent or better, then you can be quite certain that the printing system is set up properly and now you can worry about the ICC profiles and color management.
Also, don't forget to download the better profiles for the 2200 from support.epson.com.
And, if you're managing color in Photoshop, turn OFF Color Management in the Print dialog and vice-versa. Otherwise, you're managing color twice!

  • IMac Intel and CS2 using RAW

Does anyone have problems working with RAW images on CS2 and the iMac Intel machine?
Everytime I try to convert an image from RAW to TIFF ( in Bridge ) and then open in CS2 I get a window saying that it cannot open due to an error.
Any help or comment is welcome.
    Thanks
    Pedro

    Problem solved.
I re-installed Photoshop CS2 and the problem is gone.
Why it didn't work the first time, I don't know, although after finishing the installation it showed a window saying that the installation was successful....

  • I recently upgraded from a iMac mini PPC (pre-intel chip) to a new iMac (intel chip). I know that some of my software won't functionally transfer over, but I have some files that were done using Appleworks (.cwk text files) that won't open. Conversion?

Is there a way to convert .cwk text files I saved from my iMac PPC so I can view them on my new iMac (intel chip)? I get a message when I try to open them now that says PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

    1.  Read Roger Wilmut's excellent series of articles: Abandoning Appleworks
    2.  Considering running Appleworks in Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed into Parallels for use in Lion or Mt. Lion

  • Sharing folders/files between users on same imac Intel

    Hello,
Hoping the Gods of OSX can help me. I'm a recent convert from PC to iMac Intel. My wife and I both use the imac so we set up two different users (both have admin priv). I was able to network the imac and our PC together and pull stuff off the PC onto the mac (music videos, documents).
    The Question:
We want to be able to share alot of stuff between the two users. for instance, If I were to login then connect my Digital camera and import in iPhoto then fast switch to my wife's account I want to be able to see those photos that were just imported. What are the steps (if any) to make folders synced/shared.
If anyone can help it would be appriciated.

The easiest way is to put the files you wish to share between users in the Shared folder (this is the Shared folder located in the Users folder.) All files placed there can be accessed by all users.
If you want to go a step further it's possible to set up multiple-user iTunes and iPhoto libraries:
Share iPhoto Library with Multiple Users
    Share iTunes Library

  • Games on the iMac Intel

I have found a lot of posts about people having problems using games with the new iMac Intels. I was wondering if people could let me know what games they have that work on the new iMac Intel and what games don't

As in I can't install the game client itself. I click on the Setup it just says there's no specified program to open it. And I clicked on something and now it opens with disk utility which does not do anything to help. And now I dont know how to set it back. Help.

  • Need genealogy program for imac intel

I need genealogy program for new imac intel. My old program was for Apple G II S. Have viewed program called heredis mac x.2 but don't know if it is compatible for imac intel. All new territory for me. Thank you, Lisa

Though I don't have an Intel Mac, I use both Heredis and Reunion. You could check with each company about Intel compatibility.
I keep my file in both because the FH represents the greatest investment of time for anything on the computer. I want always to have a usable file so dont put all my eggs in one basket.
Reunion is a bit more versatile inrespect of the fundamental structures but Heredis uses a different basic construction which I wanted as a reserve. Heredis is about £20 less expensive here in UK than Reunion.
One specific thing about Heredis is that it stores the actual data file or files as documents in the user documents folder. You need to realise what these things are in said folder and not delete them by accident.
The down side of using two different programmes is that of synchronisation. If you add new data in one app you need to add it manually in the other. I would never trust it to GEDCOM transfer to transfer all fields correctly especially if you have data in the more esoteric fields of any particular programme.
Heredis has an ability to display a 3d tree showing all, I repeat all the relationships including the families of removed cousins etc rather like a complex organic molecule. It is zoomable and you can get text data displayed from any person box, any 'atom' ,to pursue the analogy. It has source and repository features just as good as the more expensive Reunion. It may be ruled out for some though. It has no tab to indicate the 'disposal' of a family member as being "abducted by aliens', whereas Reunion has!

  • HT1752 I have an imac intel 24" EMC 2111.

I have an old iMac intel 24" EMC 2111.Its a core 2 duo -2.16 Ghz. It will not boot, showing a file with a question mark flashing on the screen. A recovery disc was used and when running a system check, the following error message : 4SNS/ 1/ 40000000 THOP. Is this something serious, like the mother board? I dont have the original install discs so I cant try to reinstall the OS of that time. Also, could this model be used as a monitor for a laptop if no longer useable as a PC? I already have updated Macs, but like vintage models. Thanks. joeza

Yes it's something serious, you shoudl take it into an Apple Store or an AASP for professional diagnoses. Apple does not publish the error codes so we have no way of telling for sure what your error message means, only a tech would be able to help.
You could not use the model as a monitor with a PC, this feature is called Target Display Mode and was available with 2009 & 2010 27" iMacs using the mini display port on a PC. It is also available on 2011-2012 models using Thunderbolt ports to another machine with Thunderbold output, however connecting to PC's usually does not work.
IMHO it's time to hing about replacing the machine with a newer model.
    Good luck.

  • How do I use a Verizon PC Wireless card with my iMAC Intel Core desktop?

Help! Bought a Kyocera KPC650 Wireless PC Card for Verizon wireless internet. Works fine w/ laptop because it has a slot. How do I configure my iMAC desktop to accept this card? Is there an external USB adapter? Or do I have to get one installed internally? Which adapter works with OX 10.4?
I've seen the Quatech U132 online. Will that work? Its $192!! As is the Sewell adapter too. ($209)
Any ideas? I want to get off SBCYahoo DSL and their router because our DSL line is damaged in our complex and no one is fixing it!
    Thanks in advance.

What protocol is Verizon using that is not compatible with the Airport Extreme built into your iMac? I have used Apple's Airport Extreme with a lot of different wireless routers with zero problems as all conform to either 802.11b or 802.11g standard both of which are supported by the built in Airport Extreme.

  • Full Firewire Port Failure (three different machines : iMac Intel, iMac G5, Black Macbook)

I'm experiencing a failure of all FireWire ports on all of my three machines. I believe this problem began with a faulty external, FireWire powered hard drive from G-Tech. Here are all my specs, followed by a rundown of the order of events that has lead to this situation, followed by the various troubleshooting I have done.
    Equipment :
    iMac Aluminum Intel - 24" Mid 2007 - running OsX 10.5.8 - currently 1 FW400 and 1 FW800 ports disabled
    iMac G5 - 20" - running OsX 10.5.8 - currently 2 FW400 ports disabled
    MacBook - 13" black Early 2008 - running OsX 10.5.8 - currently 1 FW400 port disabled
    2 500GB G-Drives (by G-Tech) - AC powered
    1 5TB G-RAID Drive (by G-Tech) - AC powered
    1 250GB G-Drive Mini (by G-Tech) - FW powered
    Initial Setup :
1 500GB G-Drive connected directly to iMac Intel via FW800
    1 500GB G-Drive connected to first 500GB G-Drive via FW800 (daisy chained)
    1 250GB G-Drive connected to second 500GB G-Drive via FW400 (daisy chained)
1 5TB G-RAID connected directly to iMac Intel via FW800>400 adapter
    Sequence of Events :
I had transferred some files to my G-Drive Mini in order to move them to my MacBook from my iMac Intel. I copied the files to the G-Drive Mini and ejected it normally and plugged it into my MacBook via FW400. The drive would not mount, and the power indication light would not go on. After experimenting with various connections and cables I was able to get the drive to power with FW400 and USB connected at the same time, but the drive would still not mount.
I then plugged the G-Drive Mini back into the 2nd 500GB G-Drive as it was previously connected via FW400. This action caused the G-Drive to immediately reboot and eject itself from my iMac Intel.
I then attempted to plug the G-Drive Mini into my older iMac G5 via FW400. Immediately upon plugging in, the computer shut down, and would not restart.
At this point I kind of started to freak out. I was unaware of the extent of the damage, but was upset that the FW powered G-Drive Mini had shutdown my iMac G5. I contacted G-Tech Support and they offered to replace the drive and instructed me how to manually reset the computer's SMC by opening up the iMac and finding the Cuda switch. This worked and the computer was able to start and function again, but the FW400 port seemed to be disabled.
I then tried to swap out configurations and drives on my iMac Intel to see if there was any cable problems, but doing so, slowly rendered all my FireWire ports useless. It's almost as if the act of plugging in the FW-powered G-Drive Mini started a kind of shortout chain reaction. I soon learned that none of my hard drives would connect to any of my three machines, with any kind of cable combination via FW400 or 800.
I am currently able to connect my 5TB G-RAID drive to any machine via USB, as well as my G-Drive Mini. I am unable to access the other two external hard drives, as one has only FW400 and 800 ports and the other's USB connection is not functional as well on any machine.
    Troubleshooting Steps Taken :
I have on all machines, reset the SMC in the following methods. iMac G5 - manually, by opening the case and pressing Cuda switch. iMac Intel - unplug, hold power button, restart method. MacBook - unplug, hold power button, restart method.
I have also on all machines, reset the PRAM by the Cmnd + Opt + P + R method at startup.
I have also unplugged all cables / removed battery, from all machines and left alone for a period of at least 12 hours, then re-plugged in each device one at a time.
I have also restored my hibernate mode (through Terminal) on my iMac Intel to mode 3 and also turned on Virtual Memory in system preferences and set hibernatemode to mode 7, the restarted and attempted to plug in devices. The reason I even began to deal with the hibernate mode was because I had around the same time my ports began malfunctioning, installed the DeepSleep widget, which allows you to control your computer's hibernate mode. I thought that tweaking with this setting may have made my computer incapable of recognizing devices that were plugged in. I have since uninstalled the widget and experimented with different hibernatemodes to no avail.
I also have Repaired Disk Permissions and Repaired Disk on all my machines, from within my Admin User as well as from the OsX Install Disk.
Sometimes in my System Profiler (like right now for example on my iMac Intel) my computer is "Unable to list FireWire devices," but sometimes, no warning message comes up and it simply displays the appropriate Bus speed.
I also conducted a system restore using a backup from my 5TB G-Raid Drive via USB, to a date before these problems started, but my ports are still not working.
    Summary :
I am looking at a situation where all my FW ports on all my computers appear to be disabled, and possibly also on my four external hard drives, with one possible USB port malfunction on one external drive. The only root of this seems to be a malfunctioning FW-powered external hard drive.
Is this possible? Has this happened to anyone else before? G-Tech assures me that it is impossible for my 250GB G-Drive Mini to draw enough power from a computer to permanently disable any ports, but I have tried all of the FW port problem troubleshooting steps and am at a loss.
I do not have AppleCare and would like to avoid bringing two iMacs, a MacBook and four hard drives to the Apple store and take my chances with the geniuses.
I would appreciate any help or advice you all have. Thanks for reading and for your support!

Ok. So if that was too confusing, I've re-labeled this post with letters for my hard drives and some mapping of the connectivity configurations I have attempted.
