IMAC Intel 20 " Display not clearly

Hello Friends,
With my new IMAC Intel 20 " 256 MB videomemory i encountered the following permanently excisting problem.
The display picture has a poor quality. It looks like an unfocused picture . The letters are not that clear i am expecting them. With my recent IMAC G5 i had no problems like the above mentioned. This system had an excellent clear picture.
Probably there are some reflection on the line between Processor / Videocontroller and Monitor Display.
Has anyone encountered as similar problem ? if yes, please give me a report on it.
i had already contacted apple care center, but they had not a satisfying answer on my problem.
many thanks....

Hi,
I see you are from Germany. Maybe you should check this topic:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=374784&tstart=0
It is about another problem that affects the LCD panel of the iMac CD 20" at least for customers in Europe. A number of us in France, Switzerland and Germany have highlighted a trailing effect (bluish color) that appears when you move _at normal speed_ windows or object across the screen. A collective of citizens has even been set up to force Apple to solve this problem. At this moment, this problem is partly resolved since Apple has recognized the problem since some motherboard (and therefore the graphic card) and even LCD panel were changed but without resolving the problem.

    Hi Robby62,
    please do report back.
Also, after you have successfully installed the BootCamp Drivers from the Leopard DVD (which are version 2.0, btw.) you might want to download the 2.1 version update here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/application_updates/bootcampupdate21 forwindowsvista32.html
The update also has to be installed while in Windows.
    Have Fun

  • My imac intel display is frozen.  Both the mouse and my network is working.  Has anyone had problems like this and were you successful at fixing it?

My imac (Intel) display is frozen.  Both the mouse and the network are working.  I've shut down various times, pulled the cord from the receptacle on the power strip, and restarted several times.  No luck.  Has anyone had problems like this and were you successful at fixing it?  Thanks.  Would appreciate any help.  Paula

Same problem, but a c.2009 iMac running OS X 10.9.1. Just happened overnight. Presently, I'm able to access my HD via wireless via laptop and copying all non-backed up files to an external drive. So far, Paula is the only other person I've found with this same problem and hers was three years ago! Going to keep searching for an answer.

  • Imac Intel will not boot up - 3 days old, light on, starts to spin...

I got an Imac Intel 20" from my husband on mother's day and it now will not turn on!! White light comes on, sounds like it is trying to boot and then nothing... blank screen, no beeps - have unplugged and restarted, tried a million key combination from the forums and still nothing... locked up once on "Garage?" software (according to son)... worked for 2 days...
Very dissapointed and sad... husband looking like the PC is still a better box even after breaking down and getting the Imac - can't help much because this is all new to him...
    Help!

If you bought your imac with a credit card anywhere in your home state(or within 100 miles of your home in another state), then you can return it within 30 days if you are unsatisfied. That is federal law, and a store cannot do anything to deprive you of those rights--no matter what they say (or what they print on the receipt under your signature). My Apple store tried to tell me they only allow returns for 2 weeks. I told them the were violating federal law and they were required to issue a credit for the amount of the return, and they reluctantly complied.
I believe credit card companies are now required to print those rules on your bill (mine does and I don't think it would do so voluntarily), so you can check the fine print on your last bill and read them.
So, if you meet the above requirements, take your imac back . Insist on a refund. Be firm. If the retail person won't do it, tell them you want to speak to a manager. Once they credit your account, walk up to another retail person and tell them you want to buy a 20" imac.
If the retailer won't credit your account, then call your credit card company, and tell them you tried to return a defective product within the 30 day limit that you bought in your home state, and you would like them to reverse the charges.

  • IMac external display not recognised although previously it was recognised.

I have been using a secondary display for several months without problems. Now the iMac refuses to recognize it's existence. The secondary display gives message 'No Input Signal' Any ideas as to what has gone wrong?

No other settings that I know of on the monitor. What is puzzling is that it has worked for three months and I have not knowingly changed anything apart from OS updates. The iMac just does not detect the second monitor so it is not appearing in Display Settings dialog.

  • My iMac intel  is not booting

My iMac intel suddenly stopped responding. On trying to restart it failed to boot. I am getting a white screen with a folder icon with a ? Sign.  Efforts to do a safe start by pressing shift have not helped. What should I do next?

Your Mac can't find a file from which to boot.
A safe boot by holding down the shift key may help.
If not, what version of OS X was it running?

  • IMac external display not working with mountain lion

I have an iMac 3.4 Intel Core i7, have used an external monitor for a program for ever.  Upgraded to Mountian Lion and no more external monitor.

Update/Fixed - I talked with Apple support via phone since I had 90 days of complimentary support.  After describing my troubleshooting the rep recommended reinstalling 10.9.  I did that this morning and the remote monitor is back in service.  So it appears something broke in 10.9 that is fixed by the re-install.  It would be nice to know if it's a simple preference that could be trashed.  But it looks like hardware is not the issue.

  • IMac intel does not recognize Boxlight XP-56d projector

The intel iMac flat panel computers that we have in our schools do not recognize the Boxlight XP-56d projectors. However, they do recognize the newer Boxlight XP-58Z projectors. We have tried different cables, building back up from install CDs, eliminating preferences, etc. The projector just cycles through inputs. I have made at least 5 calls into tech support with no resolution. I was hoping one of you may have some ideas. Unfortunately, the middle school with the issue has 6 of these rogue projectors.

Have you checked the manufacturer's site for info or a driver?
Only info I can find is these were discontinued as of 2004.

  • Home Theatre and iMac 27" display NOT working

Ok, I bought an iMac 27" (MC511T/A). It does not have Thunderbolt port but the old good mini DVI.
What I'm trying to do is using its stunning display as an external video for my Home Theatre System.
From the Home Theatre > HDMI into DVI > DVI into Mini DVI > iMac
It doesn't detect anything at all.
    Any guess?

First, your iMac has a MiniDisplayPort not a DVI-port.
Second, for Target Display Mode (as Apple calls it) the iMac only accepts DisplayPort-compliant signals which HDMI is not.
    HDMI is comparable to DVI.
    Therefor your connection doesn't work.
    What is Target Display mode?
Kanex has a HDMI converter http://www.kanexlive.com/xd

  • Intel-Duo 20" iMac/Intel Chip Not As Good as Motorolla/Memory/System Delays

I admit - I am a World of Warcraft type guy. If I boot up the system - and just chose WoW - all is good. If I start Safari, it hangs for a bit - then loads. If I am running WoW - and Safari is up, WoW gets choppy. If I close Safari - and I have been playing a while, WoW remains choppy.
It seems to me that memory management of the iMac is not very good. Either ram is not flushing or there is a conflict between Safari and other programs. I have not put it through lots of tests- but I notice a major difference.
My old G4 portable - 17" PowerBook, actually handles this so much better. Am I the only one to notice a quality difference between Intel and Motorolla?
    Thanks.

There's no difference in memory management based on hardware. Memory management is a function of the operating system and would be the same regardless of which platform is running OS X.
The problem you describe may more likely be related to the GPU and amount of VRAM and installed RAM as well as the screen resolution and bit depth.
Inasmuch as you did not provide the hardware configurations of both machines it's pretty difficult to identify any differences. Safari should not "hang" during startup which may suggest your system needs repair.

  • IMac (intel) will not reboot

After downloading the 10.4.7 update, installing it and rebooting, I came back to the crashed screen that asked me to restart the machine. Since then, I have tried to reboot it, but it just sits at the white apple screen. What should I do?
I know I can probably boot up from disc or from an external hard drive, but how do I get the machine back to working conditions?

I suspect that you need to perform disk repair (not permissions) using a version of Disk Utility/First Aid from a booted disc or disk different than the one with the issue.
Another possibility could be the need for a SMC reset:
