Imac is hang when itunes updates applications

Hi guys.
i have iMac 24" C2D 3.06, 4G ram bus800, HDD 1TB...It runs well but one thing.
When i login my iTunes account, choose update mobile applications, iTunes will update...after 3-4 apps update done, then it is hang, iTunes is hang and my iMac is hang too.
and it just be hang when i do that ( open iTunes and choose update apps) again...
i changed ram, i changed hdd, reset PRam, reinstall lion, reinstall snow leopard, run sofeware update....bla bla...but my iMac still hang when i run iTunes and choose update for my iPhone's applications. it appears apple color spinning wheel, and the only application can run is that Spinning Wheel...:(

My iMac G5 hangs when I try to download and install the recent large update to 10.5. Message says restart to complete the installation, but after restart the messages says it is configuring the software, but progress bar shows no progress after several attemps, the longest being over 12 hours. Repair permission & restart your computer. Try reinstalling the OS update from the combo installer if you have not already done so instead of using Software Update.
If successful, make sure you repair permissions again after all installations are completed.

I'm wondering if you have to Apples IDs or iTunes IDs and have puchased apps on both accounts.I have the same issue, and must supply both accounts' passwords in order to update apps. From my research here, there's no way to merge the two accouts. It is aggrivating, indeed.

Hi turingtest2 (you pass, BTW): Thanks for the speedy reply. MobileMe doesn't appear in the list of programs which can be uninstalled. I tried the link you suggest: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall but when I tried to "Run Now", I get the error message: " Troubleshooting cannot continue because an error has occurred... etc.... [code 80072F8F]" So googled this error & found a tool called (80072f8f) Repair Tool - I'm leery to download yet more stuff from non-microsoft sites -- any recommendations?

Date added data is only stored in the library.itl file. You can try reloading the backup copy of the file (old iTunes libraries) into a blank library (hold down option/alt key while starting iTunes to make one) and rebuilding a library back to the point in time of the upgrade.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Imac g5 hangs when starting up

Hello everybody,
i have just got imac g5, first gen, 1.8 mhz, 20" through ebay.
it was working fine for the first 4 days, the only thing was i had to reset password for system admin so i could change region setting for dvd player.
i had to do this using my system disc for emac g4 as there was no installer discs
with mac (fcuk). anyway this worked fine. dvd played ok over 3 days.
i put in another dvd film (authorised) this has played fine before. anyway it would'nt load got wheel of death, tried to force quit, that didn't work so shut
down hold button at back of mac. thought it would start up again.
when rebooting mac blue screen for 1 sec to grey with apple logo hangs there
for 2 mins (quiet) then stays as is but fan comes on full tilt. and stays there.
i left on for 15 mins but no luck. o by the way got dvd out by holding down mouse at start up.
i have reset pram and had back off to reset smu button net to power button
so if you can think of anything to try,

Sorry, I do not use or ever heard of "freehand MX". All I can tell you is to make sure it is compatible w/your current OS & to post in the Adobe Forums since it is an Adobe product.

Lost files when Itunes update was downloaded.

Everytime I update Itunes I lose all files from my itunes account on my pc. Purchased items have disappeared? Are they retrievable? Don't know why or how to solve this problem? I have stopped downloading updates so I don't lose anything else, but would like to know why this is happening. I have back upped music files but not the tv shows I downloaded. Very frustrating. I hope there is a simple answer because I like Mac but refuse to buy one...mainly for reasons like these. Thanks.

Shot in the dark but... Have you tried clicking the Date Added column in the list (if not visible right-click and select it). Click and see if it gives you seperate dates added for the songs. Hopefully your matched songs have a different date than the duplicated ones.

How can I stop iOS3 iPod Touch v1 apps being removed when iTunes updates apps with iOS4 apps

I have an iPhone 4 with iOS5 whilst my old iPod Touch Mk1 still runs on iOS3. My old iPod now rests in the handbag of my wife who will use the installed apps if she is near a wifi she can use. There is however an increasing problem in that wheras it is more than capable whilst running the old apps iTunes is automatically upgrading them as new versions are released and increasingly upgraded apps only support iOS4 +. The obvious answer of buying a new iPod does not compute, its a good iPod and despite years of regular use the battery life is more than reasonable and the iPod function wit h16gb is more than adequate so I refuse to commit it to the silicon graveyard yet ( i still run old G3 and G4 macs as servers and have an old Classic that still provides amusement at parties).
If however this automatic upgrade and trashing of old apps continues it will not be long before one day we sync the ipod and find it wipes al lthe apps off as they are no longer iOS3 compatible. Anyone ever found a way to protect the apps of an iOS3 device whislst all ipods are synced from the same iTunes user account?

There really is not god way. Whatyou migh consider it sonnecting the iPod to a different computer and transfering purchases to the computer. That way yu will still have the version of the apps that are compatible with the iPod.

At a later date if necessary you can delete the newer apps from the library of the syncing computer and put the older ones in and do what you want to the iPod.

IMac initail setup hangs when creating user account picture.

I just purchased a brand new Imac. When I attempt to create my initail user account I am asked if I want to take a new picture for this user account.
The Imac then hangs when I click on the check box to take a picture. Can someone please advise me on this procedure?

Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk or Reinstall.

Hi,
One of my ex-colleagues has installed a NI-DAQ 6.5 in our system. [And I do not see any other naitional instruments card in the CPU of the computer, may be he removed it] I deleted the account and all his files in the system. When I am trying to install version8.0, its not getting installed and giving me a message that I should uninstall the previous version by going to Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
I tried doing that, but the "Change/Remove" button does not seem to work...[There is no response and so unable to install the new version...]
Any idea how can this problem be solved?
It is a windowsXP operating system with SP2 installed on a machine with P4 processor.

All apps are tied to the apple id that it was used to purchase or download the app.
did you use a different id to buy the app?
you can change id, settings - appstore - apple id - log out and log in with correct id.
