How to solve this problem?
Windows 7 Professional.Or it could be patially related to typical pains when a company makes an enormous transition like this. Ironcially, just as i said in my post, my issue resolved the next day.
Listen, I undertstand the concern and certainly the frustration. I spend nothing short of 14 hours per day with Adobe apps open. primarily After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator. I know the hassle and I know the frustration of constantly having to sign back in, which i did for a bit too. But it's just a little melodramatic when people make idle threats they aren't going to follow through with anyway, about using a product that does what this does, and is such an enormous productivity tool that people say silly things. that's what I'm referring to. If you're going to choose an entire platform different than Adobe becuase theyr'e having issues on a brand new method of service and delivery you're an idiot anyway. Wouldn't you agree that the statements of ' i don't have time to test something' are a litle ridiculous? name any product, or purchase in any part of your life that has never failed at anything? and then saying thigns like it's suddenly an unstable environment, when the problem they're complaining about (and the complaint of course it legitimate) has absolutely nothing to do with the stability of the product?
it's the overblown, silly statements that make people look foolish, do nothing to help the issue, and offer nothing that crack me up. When I read someone saying things like that i pretty much ignore anything else they say because reason isn't something they are using at that point anyway.
See what you said? that has nothing to do with anyone I'm talking about. You made a valid point, didn't make silly comments like what I'm referring to. you said something I don't agree with, but you dind't go overboard and get all dramatic about it. I don't agree that it's an ongoing degredation of their rep. there is nobody even remotely close a valid competitor out there for this in the first place (depending on what software yoiu're referring to, but since we're in the CC forum i assume that's what you mean). The fact is, their reputation is so strong, no other software company can even compete. But even so I still see progress and innovation. Intel had a cushion with no competitor at one point, then AMD came in, and if you notice, within a couple years of AMD getting very popular, Intel started releasing their upgraded technology in less than a third of the time. But I don't think I see that laziness from Adobe. I don't honestly know that the reason is they moved to a subscription based environment but I know that almost all big software companies are at leasdt considering it. heck Microsoft was talking about changing their licensing and doing it the same way. And it's not for greed I'd guess, it's to comabt theft. At least that's my guess, i have no idea, but i don't believethat it's done and they would change their entire business model for a reason lefss important.
While we're on that topic I'd like to point out i bet this new process makes an enormous dent in the piracy, at least short term, so for me I applaud it. because when so many people steal the software, it means people like me, and i assume you, pay much higher prices for our legit licenses. So anything that can be done to thwart that has my full approval. But it also just happens to have some nice benefits, in that the pricing is pretty ridiculously low IMO for the entire suite of apps for 50 bucks per month. let' be honest, anyone using them for business which is primarily what this softwre is geared to, understands that while it might seem high, it's tiny compared to the montly cost of doing business, to keep an up to date, suite full of apps that would cost thousands were it not for the subscription. I'll admit, I bought the full suite on the montly just because it made sense. And it actually paid off. Recently I had a client that desperately needed ihs forms migrated to interactive. they were word docs, excel and plain pdfs, but because I happen to have a license for Acrobat, i was able to import those into pdf files and convert them to interactive forms. Then recommend he use the online service to manage them, and frankly it paid for 6 months of licensing for 10 hours work. were it not for the subscription based licensing i'd not have even been able to offer the service because I wouldn't have paid for acrobat.
Complaining about a piece of software you buy that doesn't work in an area, regardless of where it is, makes perfect sense. But the statements I'm referring to equate to someone buying a house, finding out the key doesn't work, or the doorknob is broke, throwing their hands up and saying 'i'm finding anohter house'. it's silly, and everyone knows there's no merit to it. But i get frustrated seeing it over and over, frewquently by people that hven't even paid for the software. Sometimes I post thing I shouldn't but hey, don't we all?
I like to browse these forums becuse I'd say i've learned as much of my knowledge by reading tricks, tips and resolutions posted in forums as I did through my classes and education. That's possibly an overstatement but not by much. I do get just as frustrated at the people constantly trying to belitte the company as they do with their issues. -
Registration Prompt Every Time I Launch Any Application
Almost every time I launch any application, and every time I launch Acrobat XI Pro, I get either a window telling me that I have so many days left in my trial or I get a notification that I need to complete my registration of my product. I have been a CC subscriber for at least a year, or longer. I am always connected to the internet and signed in to my CC account when this happens. I have to repeat the sign in to cancel the window. When I follow the link to the registration page, the resulting page has all of my correct information and there's nothing to update.
I know this seems like a fairly minor annoyance, but it is an annoyance nonetheless. Any suggestions?

MW ArtsHi Anthony,
Please rename or delete SLcache and SLstore folders.
For Windows: C:\ProgramData\Adobe For Slstore
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe For SLcache
For Mac: Open the finder window click on go and choose computer and navigate to
MacHD>Library>ApplicationSupport>Adobe
and delete the SL store and SL cache folders.
Then try to re-launch and reactivate your product.

Loosing all mail acounts every time I launch Mail
Ever since the first of the year (01/01/2007), Mail has been problematic. It began with losing all my pop account information. I re-entered all the pop settings and all seemed to be back to somewhat normal (albeit I lost all my previously sent mail). All seemed to be working fine until I quit Mail. I was right back to where I was before, I had to re-enter all the pop settings, and once again I lost all my sent mail. It appears that every time I launch mail it seems it's launching it for the first time. Please help, for email is a huge part of my livelihood and having to go to multiple locations to check mail is killing my productivity.
I have a PB G4 running OS10.2.8 with Mail 1.2.5 (v553)
I am also experiencing similar problems when launching Safari 1.0.3 (v85.8.1) and IE Explorer 5.2.2 (5010.1) -- my computer seems to re-set my preferences back to the factory pre-sets every time I launch these applications.Your problems are not date related or related to anything else than not having adequate free hard drive space.
RAM is important but a lack of adequate free hard drive space is the key here and you have so little free hard drive space available, there is a good chance data will be lost (more than just application preference file loss) unless you free up some hard drive space in a hurry.
What is your hard drive capacity?
The link provided recommends having no less than 5 GB of hard drive space free so you have some work to do.
After freeing up some hard drive space, there is a way to recover all messages but some of these messages may have been lost due to having such a small amount of free hard drive space available. -
I can't open almost any app on my iMac (OSX Lion 10.7.4). Every time I attempt to do so, the affected app "unexpedtely quits", showing a window (sort of expanded dialog box) with the log history, wich form a complete report wich is said to be sent to Apple. Despite that this window has a "restart" button, I haven't been able to go any further from this point, as it repeats the process again and again, impeding me to use the affected app.
This has get to a critical point, as it is afecting apps like iTunes (especifically when I turn to the iTunes Store from within te app), MacApp Store, Software Updates (I can't update anything, given this problem) and many other apps, including Aperture 3, Fusion 4, integrated Dictionary and Wikipedia, as I've been able to verify.
As far as I'm concerned, it hasn't affected apps like Office, Vectorworks, Pixelmator, iDraw, Quick Note...
Can anybody help me on this matter?
Thanks a lot, in advance...
MarcusUse Lion Recovery to repair the startup disk if necessary, or reinstall the Mac OS X.

I'm using a Rocketfish USB to Lightning cable for powering my IPAD2. But when I plug it in the battery icon beeps and comes on then goes off...then goes on...then goes...all beeping every time. Its as if its being unplugged and plugged in over and over. It won't stop...and its not charging....just beeping. I've check connections. Any ideas?
- While charging try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next try restoring the iPod via iTunes. First from backup and if still problem restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
- However, I really think that the iPod has a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. If defective Apple should give you a refurbished iPod. -

Aperture 3 keeps asking for my serial numbers every time I launch it.
I'm writing this not because I have this problem (though I did have it) but because I couldn't find a direct answer here in Apple Support Communities but did eventually solve it.
After purchasing a new iMac to replace an aging MacBook Pro, I tried copying the original ProAppsSystemID file in /Library/Application Support/ProApps from the old to the new system, hoping that would transfer my Aperture license. That didn't work (for me), though Aperture continued working on the old MacBook Pro. I went digging and found my original Aperture activation keys (original and upgrade), entered those on the new iMac, and was finally able to launch Aperture 3 on the iMac.
My problem was that Aperture kept asking me for my serial number every time I launched it. I had originally purchased Aperture 2 and then purchased the Aperture 3 upgrade. As it should, when I supplied my Aperture 3 activation key, it noted that was for an upgrade and prompted me to enter my original key. After supplying my original Aperture 2 (full license, not an upgrade) key, it would continue and launch.
I could then use Aperture just fine, as before, however, its "About" window showed that it was "unlicensed". The next time I'd re-launch Aperture (after quitting it, obviously), I would have to go through the same process, supplying first my Aperture 3 upgrade key and then my Aperture 2 key, before it would finish launching.
I tried everything I could think of: uninstalling and reinstalling Aperture 2, upgrading again to Aperture 3, deleting Aperture preference files, and so on. I tried logging in as root and repeating everything. I tried "repair disk permissions". Nothing helped!
What seemed to fix my problem was going back into /Library/Application Support/ProApps and renaming "ProAppsSystemID" to "ProAppsSystemID xxx", relaunching Aperture 3, and entering the activation keys one last time. At that point, the "About" box properly indicated my version was licensed, and I was able to exit and re-launch Aperture without being prompted!
Although my problem is solved, I'm still a but mystified, however, because the file named "ProAppsSystemID xxx" is still there, its modification date is unchanged from when I renamed it, and a new "ProAppsSystemID" file has not appeared in that directory.
Also, it's a shame that Aperture's licensing is so fragile that this problem should arise at all. If there was something wrong with my system ID file, Aperture should have opened an error dialog or at least noted something in the system log. (It didn't, I checked.) Apple really should fix that. And here I thought only Adobe shipped egregiously stupid upgrade/licensing logic...Thanks - this worked for me too - you saved me alot of heartache and wasted time :-)

Why does CC need my login every time I launch a CC program?
On my Windows 7 64 bit system with some CS6 and CC programs and running from an administrator account with UAC set at "never notify" I'm being asked for my login just about every time I launch any CC program.
This is has been slowly getting. This is not following any system change, new CC install or any other system change or crash I'm aware of.
I know others have had this problem but if there is a definitive fix available I can't find it.
Is there a fix?
I'll leave the obligatory complaints about how annoying this is out but be assured, they're there!
Thanks,

Should I rebuild my read only database every time I launch my server?
I'm getting into web development, and I'm trying to get a grip on databases.
In an app I want to make, there is a read only database that will be filled up with a large amount of data, which will be the heart of the application, and also a lot of work to put in.
I'm uncomfortable with putting all this data into the database, as the database is "separate" from my web app code. I feel like I should rather write my data in code somewhere, and then have my application put the data into the database for me.
This way I would have my entire project written in code, and not an integral part of my software hidden away in the database, which is a bit complicated to work with, and seems difficult to move from computer to computer.
But is this a sensible way to do this, however? Should I write my data in code, and every time I launch the server, make the application drop all the tables and read them in from my code again?
Is this the wrong way to go about it? Would it cause considerable overhead? How do people do this? Why are you uncomfortable in separating the data into a database? Don't you follow a modular approach when it comes to coding and separate the UI layer and the business layer? The data you are referring to, that many legacy applications will have at least
some of it embedded in the code in the form of constants, is an ideal lookup table data that should be stored in a database.
>>>"This way I would have my entire project written in code, and not an integral part of
my software hidden away in the database, which is a bit complicated to work with, and seems difficult to move from computer to computer."
You can locate your database centrally and connect to it from any computer. The maintenance of your read only data in your DB is much more easier than embedding it in
the code
>>>"Should
I write my data in code, and every time I launch the server, make the application drop all the tables and read them in from my code again?"
This is totally unnecessary. If you will be entering a lot of read only data into your DB, you can have
a small utility program that provides an interface to enter the data into a DB - if you are uncomfortable with using the SSMS UI or TSQL to enter the new data. Also, reloading the data every time will only make your application look very slow and unacceptable.
To summarize, store your data in a DB. Even it if is small application, you can start with SQL Express
edition to store the data as you will most likely need a proper DB in future if not now as your application functionality grows.

HI. I just got a new macbook pro 15".

"Error code 28773 was returned by the Audio driver."
when i hit record, the shaded area in GB starts to advance, but it doesn't record any sound, and when i hit the space bar, the recorded area disappears.
anyone know how to fix this?
I have installed BOOM, but i think that's the only extra sound software i have.]
PLEASE HELP!
thanks,
mojoman22Please read this whole message carefully, especially the warnings, before doing anything.
1. The changes to your configuration suggested here should be considered provisional; they may not solve your problem, or they may remove functionality that you find useful. If a third-party system modification that you want to keep is causing the problem, seek help from its developer.
2. WARNING: Back up all data now if you haven’t already done so. Before proceeding, you must be sure you can restore your system to its present state, even if it becomes unbootable. If you’re not sure you can do that, STOP — DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING. If you’re dissatisfied with the results of the procedure suggested below, restore from your backup. I will not be responsible for the consequences, and I will not be able to help, if you ignore this warning.
3. You should either remove or update the following system modification(s), if an update is available from the developer:
Parallels
and definitely remove at least the following:
Boom
† MacKeeper
† VirusBarrier
4. Whatever you remove must be removed completely, and (unless otherwise specified in this message) the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the third-party developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job. I can't be more specific, because I don't install such things myself. Please do your own research.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickYourMac.” First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickyourmac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, email the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickYourMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickYourMac.” If not, open “BrickYourMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button.
Again, please don't ask me to do this research for you. You can do it better than I can, because I haven't installed the product and I may not even know what it is.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase your boot volume and perform a clean reinstallation of OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
WARNING: Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" that purport to remove software.
5. I recommend that you never reinstall the modifications marked with a dagger (†) above, if any. If your problem is resolved after uninstalling all the above modifications and rebooting, but you still want to use some of those not marked with a dagger, you can experiment with putting them back, one at a time, testing carefully after each step. Keep in mind that system modifications may be incompatible with each other or with future OS X updates, so it may not be clear which one is at fault.
6. If you still have problems after making the suggested changes and rebooting, post again. Remember: if you don’t like the results of this procedure, you can undo it by restoring from the last backup you made before you started.
Remove the "MacKeeper" crapware as follows.
Note: These instructions apply to the version of the product that I downloaded and tested in early 2012. I can't be sure that they apply to other versions, nor do I intend to repeat the test.
IMPORTANT: "MacKeeper" has what the developer calls an “encryption” feature. In my tests, I didn't try to verify what this feature really does. If you used it to “encrypt” any of your files, “decrypt” them before you uninstall, or (preferably) restore the files from backups made before they were “encrypted.” As the developer is not trustworthy, you should assume that the "decrypted" files are corrupt unless proven otherwise.
In the Finder, select Go ▹ Applications from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-A. The "MacKeeper" application is in the folder that opens. Quit it if it's running, then drag it to the Trash. A dialog will pop up asking why you want to uninstall it. You don't have to provide that information. Enter anything you like in the text box, then click the Uninstall button. All the functional components of the software will be deleted. That's the only useful feature of "MacKeeper:" it deletes itself. Reboot.
Do not try to uninstall by dragging the MacKeeper icon in the Dock or the LaunchPad to the Trash.
Here are some general suggestions. If you want your computer to be usable, don't install crapware, such as “themes,” "haxies," “add-ons,” “toolbars,” “enhancers," “optimizers,” “accelerators,” “extenders,” “cleaners,” “defragmenters,” “firewalls,” "barriers," “guardians,” “defenders,” “protectors,” most “plugins,” commercial "virus scanners,” "disk tools," or "utilities." With very few exceptions, this kind of material is useless, or worse than useless.
The more actively promoted the product, the more likely it is to be garbage. The most extreme example is the “MacKeeper” scam.
The only software you should install is that which directly enables you to do the things you use a computer for — such as creating, communicating, and playing — and does not modify the way other software works. Never install any third-party software unless you know how to uninstall it. -
Renew subscription EVERY time I launch an app??
Hey guys, I was asked by the AdobeCare Twitter Account to post my issue in this forum, so here I am:
I recently subscribed to a Adobe CC membership and everything worked fine when I had the CS6.
Now since the CC Versions were released, I wanted to update of course. So I did.
Since then I am constantly haveing the same issue: I can not launch an app without having to do so many steps!
Here is what I have to do in order to open up any app (I have to do this EVERY time I launch an app..meaning when I open PS I do this, when I open ID I do this etc)
1) I click on the icon of the app (in this example PS)
2) I get the following "error":
(it is asking me to renew my subscription)
3) I click on "try again" and I get this message:
(it says "Thank you, your subscription for CC is now activated")
4) I click on "Continue" and get this message (again):
So I click on "Do you have another Adobe-ID?" and get to see this window:
... where I type in my Password and click on "Sign in" resulting in this:
and finally after clicking on "accept" in this:
...which basically is the same windows I get to see right at the beginning.
At this point I want to mention again that I have to do this e v e r y t i m e I start an app, for each app I have to run through all of these steps and if I close an app by accident and re-open it, I have to do this again.
I already tried to delete that file in the OOBE folder, did not work out.
Also, I am lacking all the presets in Premiere Pro (Digital DSLR etc) which makes me think, that all of my apps are running in trial mode..? At least I had this issue, when I launched Premiere as a trial in the past.
Don't get me wrong..But this is totally annoying and kills my workflow.
Any help? I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks and greets from Germany!
DaniloOn the device that you don't want the apps to be downloaded on, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads. Once you turn that off, your problem will be fixed.
