IMac/iTunes to Hi-Fi

Does anyone have suggestions for connecting my (non-Airport) iMac to my Hi-Fi system so that I can play music from iTunes, other than using Airport Express.
Has anyone used Xitel products with their iMac?

I have had my mac and iTunes pluged into my master house Hi-Fi system for 2 years now, with no AC Hum.
Short of a ground-loop gadget, making sure the Mac and the Hi-Fi are on the same circuit, possibly even the same power strip, eleimiates the hum.
I have a dedicated circuit breaker and single plug just for this equipment, to prevent overloads.

Hi Niel.  Can you be move specific for those of us not tech savy?   1 - Can you provide steps to back up the library?  2 - How do you organize the library?  3 - When you move the entire iTunes folder, does it include iTunes paid for music along with downloaded music from CDs?  Thanks

  • I have an iphone 4 connected to my imac/itunes using a designated email address.  However, I also have an 80gb ipod classic which is connected to my general email account. How can I transfer my ipod to the same account as the iphone

I have an iphone 4 connected to my imac/itunes account using its own designated email address. However, I also have an 80gb ipod classic which is connected to my general email address. How can I delete this and transfer the ipod to the same account as the iphone 4. Thankyou

iPods, iPhones, and iPads aren't tied to one particular iTunes accout/Apple ID.  So there are no special instructions to follow to allow you to sync it with your newer account.  Simply sync it as you would your iPhone 4.

  • New IMAC itunes library differs from PC Itunes library

Hi a little clueless but just got an imac.  I have an itunes library on my PC and all my music is on the cloud.  This syncs with my iphone and ipad.  Plugged in new imac followed logon procedure and used my itunes ID to register with Itunes.  Only the songs I have purchased are showing in my imac itunes library.  If I turn on home sharing when the PC is running I can see all the music and playlists.  I want to kill the PC and have everything from the IMAC.  So how do I get it to recognise all the music in my itunes library.  I did have I tunes match on and didn't renew the sub I feel this may have something to do with it?
Any help as two nights of pulling teeth out now.
    Thanks
    Karen

  • When i connect my iphone to my imac itunes opens but my itunes is not there.  My wife has recently added herself to the computer

When i connect my iphone to my imac, itunes opens but my itunes is not there.  My wife has recently added herself to the computer
and her itunes appears but i cannot find my itunes?

Not really! Anyhow, what do you want to achieve. The only things you can access in your iPad outside of using iTunes are photos and videos. [Locate the iPad as any other external device through Windows Eplorer or Finder and dig through the folders.]
You are fortunate that iTunes opens when you connect the iPad since many other users have difficulty in achieving this. It is from there that you can manage what you want synced to the iPad.

  • If i delete an app on my ipad to save up space, but have it at home on my itunes library on my imac, will it also be deleted from there when i sync my ipad back to my imac itunes library?

If i delete an app on my ipad to save up space, but have it at home on my itunes library on my imac, will it also be deleted from there when i sync my ipad back to my imac itunes library?

No. What's on your iMac is a backup and you can re-install (re-sync).

  • When I connect my iphone to my iMac, iTunes does not open automatically

When I connect my iphone to my iMac, iTunes does not open automatically, even though I have the "open iTunes when this phone is connected" option checked. I'm on the latest Snow Leopard with iTunes 10.4 and use an iPhone 4 with iOS 4.3.4.  I think the problem began with the latest iTunes update.

Found the answer in another discussion! Here's what worked:
"I also had the same problem, iTunes 10.4 wouldn't launch when connecting iPhone 3GS.
I unchecked "Launch iTunes when this iPhone is connected", restarted, launched iTunes and connected iPhone, rechecked "Launch iTunes when this iPhone is connected".  I was asked if I wanted to install iTunes helper and said yes.  All works again."

  • Windows and iMac iTunes share library?

I have iTunes installed on my iMac with the music files on an external drive.
I have Windows 8 installed using Parallels 8.
If I install iTunes on the Windows side - can I just point it at the iMac iTunes Library file or do I have to have the Windows install completely import and build its own Library?
    Thanks.

Yes Windows & Mac can share a library. Only one can access it at a time and it must be in the correct layout. See make a split library portable.

  • IMac/iTunes not recognizing iPhone 5s

I have a 2010 iMac running OS X Yosemite (10.10.3) and iTunes 12.1.2.27.  I also have the following IOS devices all running 8.3 of IOS:
    iPhone 5s
    iPhone 5
    iPad Air 2
    iPad Air
iTunes recognizes the iPhone 5 and both iPads every time right away.  It fails to recognize the iPhone 5s 95% of the  time.  I can't point to any logical reason why but occasionally, the iMac/iTunes will recognize the iPhone 5s.  I've been into the genius bar twice.  The phone was recognized both times.  It is also recognized if I plug it into my Windows PC.  It's not the cable or USB port because if I plug in one of my other devices, they are immediately recognized. It's not the hardware of the iPhone 5s because it is recognized by the genius bar laptops and my Windows PC.
I have a support ticket open with Apple and Level 2 is working on it but I thought I'd throw it out here to see if anyone has any suggestions.  It acts like it is a software conflict somewhere in my iMac.  If you have any suggestions other than the standard Apple support doc of try these things when you can't connect, please post them there.   Thanks.

  • Syncing MacBook iTunes with iMac iTunes

I want my MacBook Pro iTunes folder to stay synced up with my iMac iTunes. I've enabled file sharing on both and can see each computer from the other on my wifi network. All of my iTunes music is on an external hard drive. I am trying to use the SyncTwoFolders program, but I am not able to find the external hard drive in the program to set the source folder. Any suggestions?
