IMac 'not connected' to paired iPod touch G3...
During pairing, the green 'connected' light shows up in Bluetooth briefly, pairing completes successfully, the 'connected' light then turns red and is 'not connected' on the iMac. The iPod Touch device shows up in the Bluetooth settings as 'paired' and 'configurable', Bluetooth sharing is checked on the iMac. Tried browsing and sending files and get a message that 'the device does not have the necessary services'. Tried turning on 'file sharing' still no go.
On the iPod Touch in Bluetooth under 'devices' it shows the iMac, with 'Not Connected' to the right and 'Now Discoverable' below.
Both iMac and iPod devices are brand new, updated all software to latest versions. Any help getting these two to talk to each other through Bluetooth would be appreciated.
I saw that in some earlier replies, but at at least in the Apple 'Bluetooth' help info it states under 'things you can do, 'Exchange files between Bluetooth enabled computers and devices'. Are you saying this is really not the case with the 'Touch' and that it only can be used for headphones or the like (not sure what A2DP is), thanks.

My Ipod Touch is disabled and when I connect to Itunes to recover it, it states that itiTunes could not connect to the iPod touch “iPod touch” because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod touch before it can recover.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
Just bought new iPod touch. When I connect to computer to sync it tells me "iTunes could not connect to this iPod touch. Could not send a message to device." Not sure if it is b/c of an older version of iTunes but connecting via wifi sync unacceptable

I am having problems with my iTunes connecting to my iPod Touch. Can you help?
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
Or
See

- I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

My WiFi is not working on my ipod touch third gen. The wifi option in setting is blanked out so i am unabole to select it. I have tried restored it and resetting network connections. Also the battery life is very low. How do i fix this????????????
If a restore did not fix it, you have a hardware issue--possible bad wi-fi radio.

My 30-pin dock is connected to my lightning to 30-pin connector which is connected to my iPod touch 5g. But my iPod will only charge, and will not play music through my dock, only through the iPod's internal speaker. Help please!
Have you tried resetting both the iPod and dock? To reset the iPod, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
To reset the dock, unplug it and plug it back in.
