IMac OSX can't open due to password issue

after reboot my iMac, I can't access my Mac OSX due to my user passwod forgotten. How to retrive my password?

If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know that account password, the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but you won't be able to unlock the Keychain. If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. You’ll need to reset your keychain in the preferences of the Keychain Access application.

  • Can't install due to password issue

I've reset the password 3X and still can't download due to password issue. Help!

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.
If you're still stumped, you may need to reset the password on your Mac:

  • How do I stop my imac OSX from automatically opening itunes 10 when a new device is attached via USB.

How do I stop my imac OSX from automatically opening itunes 10 when a new device is attached via USB? The devices do not pop up in itunes under a sync category, so I can't turn them off one by one, nor would I want to.
I apologize if this has been answered, but I couldn't find the solution for this problem.

Thanks for the reply but it didn't solve the problem unfortunately and I didn't think it would as I only downloaded Firefox for the first time a few days ago even though I have had this problem for over six months using IE.
Anything else that you think is worth a shot?

For no cost, you can try the open-source productivy suite LibreOffice. I don't have any AW files here to test but there are reliable reports that LibreOffice can open at least some AW files:

Please turn off your caps lock key. All-caps text is harder for us to read and is considered "shouting" or "anger" by most internet text conventions. Thanks!

  • CS4 Premiere: Can't open due to inaccessible to Importer Process Server

CS4 Premiere: Can't open due to inaccessible to Importer Process Server:
    Dear Guru:
    After subject:
    I uninstalled it;
    Re-installed it;
    Reopen it,
No luck, same error message ...
A friend's wedding reflash is set on 12/22, I have yet to open my Premiere?!!! Heeelp... Please...
    Appreciate !
    Forest

    Hi, Jeff:
My system is XP; before the premiere worked well.
More detail story: Premiere could not open 3 days ago, no fix, some one sent me a crack software, I used it, no luck. Another nice guy told that is for non-legal Premiere, surely it won't work.
I tried to remove Premirere; difficult; some one suggested me to use Adobe CS4 cleaner from Adobe. Then it was removed. I re-install Premiere; During the process, abnomal thing I remember was: I can't input product S/N, so I had to use 30-day trial.
During the installation, it was stopped by Windows Installer issue, I restarted Windows Installer, then the process continued...
I have two log files, don't know how to attach into this message. But, can't find any problem therein.
Heverever, when I tried to open newly installed Premiere, error message says: ---can't open, reason is exactly same with very beginning: Can't communicate with Inporter Process Server....
    Appreciate!

  • Acrobat XI Pro for OSX can't open password-protected pdfs created using Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows

I am having problems opening password-protected files created on a PC using Acrobat 9 Pro.  I am running a MacBook Pro OSX 10.8.4 with Acrobat XI Pro.  When I attempt to enter the password when prompted, a dialogue box pops up saying that I've entered the incorrect password.  After many attempts, I am certain that the password entered is correct -- this is reinforced by the fact that i am able to open the same document using Mac's Preview software.
    Any assistance would be appreciated!
    Thanks.

I was suddenly having the same problem in Acrobat XI Pro for Windows (recently upgraded to CC from Acrobat X).  For the past while I've sometimes had to use the "insert from file" tool to get a page added from another file.  I couldn't figure out why dragging sometimes would no longer work, but was too busy to go looking for a solution until tonight.
The solution was given by JoshTatum24 above. Switch from a scrolling page display to single page display.  Now I can drag pages between documents again.  THANK YOU Josh!
Oh, and CORREAdmin,  it does not matter whether the hand or arrow selection tool is active, my mouse pointer is always an arrow when positioned in the page thumbnails panel.  Switching selection tools does not make a difference in dragging, but switching between scrolling and single page display definitely DOES make the difference.

  • Downloaded photoshop with CC on iMac, it doen't open due to" technical problem"?

Installed CC, payed for Photoshop, downloaded the programme, did update and when I want to start working it says:" impossible to initialise PS error in the program". Deinstalled the programme and downloaded everything again: same result. I work on a recent iMac with OSX version 10.9.4 What can be the matter?

reset your preferences by holding down option/cmd/shift during pse startup.  you'll see a confirmation dialog if done correctly.

What is the EXACT message you're getting?

  • The file can't open due to error.

This message can appear if a file has been saved with permissions. Permissions, also known as rights or privileges, can be applied to a file, folder, or almost any resource available from a network (printers, shares, files, databases, Web sites, etc). When
a user attempts to open a resource that requires specific user permissions, this message will appear if the user does not have the required permissions.
Permissions can be set for individual users, groups of users, or for a specific computer. Usually, this message appears if you are using a network to which administrators have applied permissions for specific users and groups, or if you are accessing a resource
local to a specific user's computer, but are blocked because of local permissions that have been set by that user. If you cannot open a resource on a file server or other computer on your network, you will most likely need to review your user account settings
to determine whether you have the necessary permissions to gain access to the resource. If you do not know whether you have the necessary permissions, contact your network administrator or the owner of the computer with the shared resources.
Usually, this message does not appear if you are using disk drives formatted with a FAT or FAT32 file system. Drives formatted with NTFS, HPFS, or another file format that provides the ability to apply permissions, are capable of forcing this message.
Occasionally, the computer that grants users access to a network can lose the information that is used to authenticate a specific user. When this happens, the only option available is to turn your computer off for thirty seconds, and then restart your computer
(you must turn off the computer to clear the cached information in the network card). Restarting may reset the authentication information that is used to grant you access to the network. If this does not work, you must contact the network administrator to
have your account reset. It is also possible that the network administrator has disabled your account.
There is also the possibility that the file you are attempting to open is restricted through Information Rights Management (IRM). IRM is an alternate form of file restriction access that allows creators of a file the ability to limit editing, copying, printing,
or forwarding of content. If the file is restricted and you require access to its contents, you must contact the creator or owner of the file to request that they add your user ID to the list of users who are allowed to access the file.

  • HT1338 Pages for my Imac. Can't open file.

Hello, I was wondering if anybody can help me with an issue I'm having with the Pages program. I am trying to openan existing file and when I click on the file I get an error message stating "You need a newer version of Pages to open this document".Not sure why this is doing this? I didn't have this problem before why would I need a newer version to open a file I have been using all along? I did an update also with no luck. Any help would be great.
