IMac running slow and frequently crashing since installing Mavericks. Any useful info in this log?

Question

Since installing Mavericks some time ago, applications have become slow to open, proccesses have slowed and, well, eveything has slowed down some. Also, almost every day, sometimes more than once, the iMac will freeze for a second, then reboot itself. I've tried searching for similar posts but haven't found an answer yet. I did open the console (which, I confess, I don't understand) and I'm getting lots of messages. But, as I've never checked before, I have no idea whether any of them are normal. Ok, so I think I got rid of everything you suggested, Arthur. No real improvement in speed, but the computer's four and a half years old, so...  I should just be satisfied if it doesn't crash every day. That would be an improvement. I'll have to wait a few days to see. I've run Etrecheck again just incase you see something else that might help. Thanks.
