Have restarted computer, process hpdot4d has disappeared. Have printed a page from HP printer but computer fine now.

How can this be greater than 100%?
2 x 2.4GHz Quad-core Intel Xeon (24 GB 1066 MHz DDR3)You get 100% usage for each processor core plus another 100% per core for hyper-threading. If Handbrake didn't take advantage of all the CPU power it can it would be much slower at completing its tasks. It is generally highly desirable for apps that do a lot of graphics-type processing to suck CPU juice through a hose rather than a straw.

Top menu bar is extremely slow -- need to use the bottom nav first. I thought once it was live with own domain name (BC is host, built with Muse) it would speed things up. No luck. Slow safari after updating mountain lion to 10.8.3. How can i fix this?
Ever since I updated my Mountain Lion about a week ago, Safari has been unbelievably slow. i always get page load errors or the status bar only fills 1/8 of the way. Firefox is still fast and I haven't done anything out of the usual on sfari. how can I speed it up? Thanks!
Try a different DNS service.
Open System Preferences > Network > Advanced > DNS
Click + and type in the following address:
208.67.222.222
Click + again
208.67.220.220
Quit and relaunch Safari to test. -
Hello, I would like to know if any one could tell me how to fix my daughters ipod touch or if I need to take it into an apple store. One of the kids on her school bus stole it out of her backpack. My daughter got it back today at school but went to turn it on and the kid that stole it I guess tried to many times to get into so now when you turn it on it says "DISABLED". Wipe it clean and restore it. You should then be able to rename the iPod and set up an account with iTunes. I hope this helps!

I use Firefox 3.6.20 on a Macbook. Almost every bookmark I attempt to save will disappear immediately after doing do. Also, when I'm trying to organize my bookmarks into folders, doing so often makes the bookmarks disappear as well, rather than placing them in the selected folder. The action of dropping them in a folder will either multiply the bookmark into three bookmarks, or make it go away completely. How can I fix this?
The Views menu in the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) is for displaying the bookmarks in different sorting orders (hence the name Views) and doesn't sort bookmarks permanently.
In Firefox the option to sort bookmarks is only available for folders and not for individual bookmarks.<br />
Easiest to sort by name is to do that in the left pane of the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) and right-click the folder that you want to sort.

If you have not already I would change the Slide size to something that has a 4:3 Ratio.
The Buddy maybe trying to scroll left and right to see the whole slide although this shoud be controlled at you end.
I would open the Connection Doctor during a Chat (iChat's Video menu).
Check that both Bit Rates are relatively stable (there is always some variance.)
Anything over 5% particularly if over 500kbps is likely to be causing problems.
You could try limiting the Bandwidth (iChat Menu > Preferences > Video section) to 500kbps at both ends
It may pay to drop to 200kbps as a test. (you may lose the Side by Side presentation at this speed).

I have downloaded lion to my Mac book pro and I have three consistent problems that will not just go away. My aperture keeps asking for my serial number each time I restart my computer or Launch it . How can I fix this problem.

I own a 13-inch MacBook Pro and for the past day, my wifi on my laptop says I only have two bars of connection and is running very slow,but all of my other devices such as my iPhone and iPad are connecting perfectly to the wifi. How can I fix this? I have tried to shut my laptop off and let it rest and I have also re-started my wifi router three different times. Someone please help me with this problem so I can begin to use my laptop again as I take it to school and use it for class.
Thanks so much!FCP, and all software on OSX, has a few different "preference" files (the extension is .plist), which store all your user settings. Each time you resize a window, change a setting, anything, this file is re-written. Kinda easy to see how they would become corrupt every now and then.
-Close FCP
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
-Navigate to User>Library>Preferences>Final Cut Pro User Data and delete Final Cut Pro 5.0 Prefs
-Empty your trash
Relaunch FCP and see if that worked.
Download FCP Rescue to make this process easier in the future. When you have FCP running really smooth, open FCP Rescue and create a backup of your preference files. If it starts acting wanky, just run FCP Rescue and Restore your backup preferences. Works really slick, and it's free.

Run Verify/Repair Disk.
You should have at least 15% free space available on your HD; if not, need to delete some things.
You may need more RAM. One way to get an idea whether more RAM will help or not, is to check Page outs and Swap used. First, use your Mac as you normally would, the longer the better (checking this right after starting up isn’t likely to show you anything). After you’ve used your Mac for awhile (again, the longer the better), go to Applications > Utilities > open Activity Monitor > in the top menu at right, select All Processes in the drop down menu > near the bottom of the window click on System Memory. If Page outs is more that about 10% of Page ins, and/or Swap used is large, chances are good that adding RAM will help. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1342 -

The problem started a few weeks ago with a small decrease in speed, and the videos now crash while the sound remains normal. When I open the Finder or any file it seems that I'm opening the windows with the hourglass spinning.
