Imac Scanner doesn't work

My new Imac running Snow Leopard 10.6.2 has what seems to be a broken scanner....The scanning function on the printer works fine when I hook it up to our mac mini, so it is my Imac that is the problem We have reinstalled the OS and that didn't help and Im looking at a clean install which I'd like to avoid. Currently senior advisors at Mac tech are reviewing the capture program which they sent me (ran it while I was trying to scan) but so far not much progress is occurring. What happens is that when I try to scan from preview, the session is either aborted with an error message, or it won't open the scanner at all. Help!

The good news is that HP.com now has an available download for OS 10.6
My original box had instructions Not to use the CD, but us the Mac OS built in copy and scan functions. I did get them to work, but not nearly as nice as the HP driver that I had used on a Windows machine and the same printer. After downloading HP's drivers, all is well. The scan option gives more options and is easier to use. Very easy to scan multiple documents into one file, and easy to pic jpg or PDF.

IMac - Display doesn´t work after restart

My iMac 21 Display doesn´t work after restart. If I turn it off and 1 hour later I want use it again the iMac shows the white screen with the mac logo and then the display goes off. I connected an external display to check if the iMac was ON and with the external display I can login and do everything but the iMac Display doesn´t work .
If I turn it off and wait 3 or 4 hours and then turn it back on the display works OK.
This is very strange behavior I have spent hours and hours trying to fine the solution or a similar issue but nothing so I am looking help here at apple.com
BTW When I bougth the iMac 21 there were some spots over the display so the display was replaced by the provider. The warranty has expired by now.

To tell you the truth, I don't know if they have to repalce the LCD panel or what they do for a bad backlight. In this reality of block or assembly replacement it probably involves repalcing the panel and not the backlight component. Don't know what it would cost. You'd have to ask that of a service center.

With Lion, all scanning is performed through Preview. Use Preview.

Scanner doesn't work w/All in one Series

scanner doesn't work with Deskjet F4100 series. My printer disappeared when I tried to print a PDF file. I had to uninstall/reinstall, but now I don't have access to HP Solutions Digital Imaging Monitor It always says "no devices found" and closes. I have Window Vista 32. I tried to find the ".exe" file, but errors say file cannot be found. The printer works, but the scanner. It shows that I have Xerox Work Center scanner but the profile shows no filename or resolution. The properties say the scanner is working properly, but HP solutions can't detect a device. Help

Hi,
I received an update from HP on Sat urday and when I completed the update (took about 3 hours) along w/reinserting the disk that came w/the F4100 all in one, I could finally connect to Solutions Center, and now I can scan. YEA!!! When I turned on my computer the update automatically came up and the restore point from a previous installation attempt. Thanks so much this means the world to me. I will also send this message from another person who was helping me.

There are two Applications folders: /Applications (in the root level of the hard drive) and ~/Applications (in your user folder).
If you have a look at the bottom part of the screenshot, you can see where Chess is stored, and it indicates that it's stored in /Applications, so you are looking for applications in the wrong folder.
Open a Finder window, go to Finder menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Sidebar, and mark Applications. Then, close the Preferences window and you will be able to access to the Applications folder in the Finder sidebar. Another option would be to go to View menu (on the menu bar) and type:
/Applications

Have you tried contacting the developer of the app, perhaps? Since it's an app, the developer is responsible for support, aren't they?
Beyond that, the next step would be to ensure that your BB OS is indeed compatible with the app. If so, then further steps could be to seek out an updated BB OS (one that, of course, remains compatible with your apps) as well as performing a clean reload of your BB OS and all of your apps...just in case something has become corrupted in the BB OS itself.

Lexmark scanner doesn't work with mac os x

I have a problem with my scanner lexmark p4330. For two weeks now it doesn't work with my imac. I have the imac os x 10.7.5.
When I try to scan, my printer displays "the all in one driver did not respond" and in Image Capture it displays "lexmark language error".
I updated my softwares, there's one for lexmark but I can't install it and I don't know why!
Can someone help me please?

Mmm. Not sure what's going on. Has scanning ever worked with the OS you are currently running?
A couple of suggestions (my last two I think as I'm running out of ideas ). I realise that your problems are only with scanning, but sometimes resetting the printing system resloves printing problems. I wonder whether it will help with the scanning issue given that Print & Scan are lumped together in System Preferences. To do it go to:
System Preferences>Print & Scan, Control+Click or Right Click on the printer on the left and select 'reset printing system'. All printers will be deleted and need to be added again using the '+' button.
If that doesn't help my last suggestion is to download the paid for app VueScan (which you can run in demo mode for free) to see whether it works or not. VueScan is very good and driving numerous types of scanners:

When i try to scanne something to my macBook the HP says "Scanning Error, try scan from computer or see documentation". So i try to scan from my computer it doesn´t work either. Sometimes after all that ptocess the HP colapses and i have to unplug it.

What Mac OS X version are you using, is it Mountain Lion (10.8) or Leopard 10.5.8? you post indicate two different OS versions...
If it is Mountain Lion, scanning from the front panel is no longer supported and you may scan using Image Capture, Print & Scan or Preview as listed below:

Since connecting my printer to airport express my scanner doesn't work. Help?

My printer is connected to our Aiport Express and now prints wirelessly from all computers in our home. BUT now the scanner does not work. I fear I may not be able to keep the printer (HP CM1312nfi MFP) connected to the A/Exp if I want it to still be able to utilise the scanner. Does anyone know how to make the scanner and printer work through A/Exp? Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations. In addition, the AirPort's USB port does not support the "advanced" printer functions, like scanning, copying or faxing, of multi-function printers.
To see if your printer is compatible, take a look at this iFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility link. If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also you can try this Apple Tech Support article to see if it will help: Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule
Finally, check out this IBM support article to see if your printer is listed as having a Postscript or PCL3 interface. If it does, then it will most likely work with the AirPort's USB port. Printers that use the "HP LIDIL" interface must be connected to a computer directly and will not work.

HP C4280 All-in-one... scanner doesn't work

The scanner worked fine when we got the printer several months ago. Now when I try to scan, I'm prompted by the printer to connect a USB cable. The problem is that the USB cable is connected already. I'm sure this is a driver issue, but I couldn't find anything on HP's website to answer my question.

I've waited I think nearly 1.5 years to open the **** thing and now it doesn't work with Leopard. The heck am I supposed to do now?
Well, just so the details are etched in stone, the printer works fine with Leopard without installing anything. According to the HP website, you don't need to install to print.
Try scanning: I got the same "USB Cable not installed" warning on the printer LCD, and several threads on a Google search brought up to install the software and that should correct it. Nope. Uninstall, reboot, re-install with the USB cable NOT connected to the computer. Nope.
I'm about to uninstall and throw the printer out the window onto the nice new concrete path that was poured during a -18° F week and it's cracking already. I feel like I'm surrounded by morons!

Have a MP530 (Using Vista) and Scanner Doesn't Work

I downloaded all the software, etc. from the Canon site and everything works except the scanner.
It keeps giving me that it isn't connected. I have done all the necessary changing of USB ports and reloading the software from the site and it still doesn't work. Canon help was no help.
Can anyone figure this out for me.

I would like to have you create a new user account on your computer and then attempt to scan to see if you are able to scan under that account. To create new user account, please follow these steps:
1. Click Start and then Control Panel.
2. Click User Accounts and Family Safety.
3. Under User Accounts, click Add or remove user accounts.
4. Click Create a new account.
5. Type the name that you want to use for the account.
6. Select Administrator for the account type, and then click Create Account.
Once the new account has been created, please login under that account and then attempt to scan again. Are you able to scan successfully?

Hi there! I have the Epson GT-20000 scanner and It doesn't work wiressly anymore in Mac OS 10.8.4. I've already read several customer support articles from Epson and Apple, but no one can tell how to scan wiressly, Same thing happen to me If I try to scan directly from Acrobat 10.1.7 Pro, the scanner is no recognized by Acrobat. I'm so dissapointed!!
My last MacBook was running under Mac OS 10.5.8 and I never experienced this kind of troubles before!
Why It has to be so complicated when It's suposed to be easier???

I have a Musket a3 USB 600 Scanner that doesn't work now that I have upgraded to Yosemite. Does anyone have a recommendation as to how I can use it? As Musktek aren't helpful and have told me they don't have a driver for yosemite... is there a way around this? Any help would be appreciated.
