IMac serial number W8948... question

I've just found out that the serialnumber on my iMac ordered dec. 4th has the serial W8948.. Now I've ordered it through apple store, so a replacement will take time if it's broken. Does the week 48 have less issues? And what should I test when I recieve it? isight etc.

When you go through Setup Assistant initially, do not migrate anything from your previous Mac. Use it +as is+, except you should run Software Update to install the recent Apple updates. Then try everything. Make sure it connects to your network and Internet, using both the wired Ethernet and wireless AirPort. Insert a disc into the optical drive (try various types). If you ordered with the Bluetooth keyboard/mouse, make sure it reconnects after restarts and sleep/wake. Check all the USB ports. If you have a FireWire device, check the FireWire port. Connect something (like iPod earbuds) to the audio output port. Put an SD card (if you have one) into the card reader slot. Use iChat or PhotoBooth to try the iSight camera. Etc., on anything else you are able to try.
Once you are satisfied that everything is working 100%, you can transfer your user data and install third-party software.

Hello- I had 5,5 Design Stardard. I upgraded to 6. Design Standard last year.
I tried to update my MacPro laptop and I encounter errors with my serial number. I did change the HD name on the Laptop.
I also just got a new iMac and I moved the 6.0 version over to it - no go. HELP FAST! please.... Adobe support s**ks

did you deactivate whatever you want to install no that was installed on your previous hd?
if not, you'll probably need an activation count reset, http://www.adobe.com/support/chat/ivrchat.html
next, is your design standard cs6 license an upgrade? if yes and you do not have design standard cs5.5 installed on your new hd/imac, you'll need to supply both (cs5.5 and cs6) serial numbers when installing the cs6 upgrade. you'll need to give the correct number at the correct time.

600MHz iMac Serial Number not Recognized!

I just purchased a 600MHz iMac from ebay and Apple does not recognize the serial number! I tried going to www.apple.com/support and checking the status and I tried registering the product but I keep gettin this message:
"We could not recognize the serial number you entered. Please re-enter it, making sure each letter or number is correct."
The serial number is in the form: RN106xxxxLB

from Apple Menu > About This Mac (click-click-click the grey line that says "Version...").
Is it the same number as the one found at this location?

If it's not, there is a chance that one of the numbers is not properly recognized by Apple, since a motherboard replacement or something like that.

Hi. Since having the MLB changed on my iMac due to USB failure, I have no serial number. I am not prepared to lug the machine back to the Genius bar, does anyone know how I can reinstate the serial number please? Serial Number Purchasing Question

I have a question -- if I purchase the serial number online to activate the full version of my iWork '09 software, how many serial numbers do I get? I have read that the serial number works more than once -- is this true? What if my computer was to loose all its data or I was to erase it all or transfer all my files over to another Mac or PC? Would I be legally able to bring the software over, of would I have to download the iWork trial again and buy another serial number or use the same one I previously purchased again or use another one if the one I previously purchased came with more. And if it does come with more or I can use it more than once, how many other serial numbers/uses do I get with it? 3 in total (including the first one)?

We are delivered ONE serial number.
If the HD fails and must be replaced no problem (at least with iWork).
Reinstall the trial version then register it with the serial number.
If you have two machines, you may install on the two machines with the same serial number.
The rule is simply:
_*This License does not allow the Apple Software to exist on more than one computer at a time,*_
My two cents:
burn a CD with iWork09Trial.dmg and iWork09Update2.dmg
So, if your HD die you will be able to reinstall easily even if Internet is unavailable.

If you still have the original box then look at that, if you ever registered the machine with Apple then you can also call AppleCare to see if they can help you. If you have done neither then as far as I know you're out of luck. BTW if you turned on iCloud and activated Find My Mac then you can use your IOS device to locate the machine, lock it or even wipe it clean. If you locate the machine contact the police immediately and let them know where it is.

Photoshop Elements Serial Number Deactivation Question

I bought Photoshop Elements 8.0 a few years back and have been using it happily and successfully since. However, I have now run into a serial number activation problem that will not allow me to use the software. The error given is: "Our records indicate that this serial number has already been used to set up and activate Photoshop Elements 8.0 on two other machines, which is the maximum allowed."
Of course, it is simple enough to deactivate a computer if that computer is accessible, but therein lies the problem. One of the two machines that is taking up my activations is my old Macbook, which experienced a total motherboard failure in March 2-13. I restored onto my new Macbook from a Time Machine backup, but when I did so, PSE required me to re-enter my serial number. This was easy enough, but it considers this new Macbook to be a third activation and thus will not allow me to use the software. And, of course, given that my previous Macbook is dead and gone, I cannot access my old Macbook to deactivate the software there.
What can I do to solve this?
Computer specifications: Macbook Pro, 15" (bought 2013). Mac OS X Version 10.8.5. 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 processor with 8 GB of RAM. The software is Adobe Photoshop Elements 8.0

PSE11: keep getting incorrect serial number [was:Question?]

I'm a new user of Photoshop Elements 11. I purchased it on Amazon and I have the disk. I'm trying to load it on my new desktop but during installation it asks for serial number. I enter the serial key and it tells me it is incorrect. I've also tried all the numbers on the box. I did load on my laptop but I'm not using it anymore, can I not download on my desktop?

You'll either need to increase the RAM in your iMac so that you can install Mavericks, or you'll need to use the original installation disk that came with your iMac to reinstall the original operating system.

chat the serial number of the product is required. I type w8******db6 and W8*******DB6 no luck. My serial
number is reported as unrcognized. I have verified that the serial number is correct and that I input the number

Go to the upper left to the Black Apple and select About this Mac and then select MORE INFO and this should give you the correct serial number. Type exactly what you see.

re: photoshop cs6 teacher edition
before installing this software, purchaser must obtain a serial number by submitting proof of eligibility to Adobe. Product cannot be used without such proof. My copy was purchased from a store. I was told not to open the box to install until I receive the serial number.
