  • Late 2011 model display problems: white screen and shuts off on its own

A few days ago my macbook pro (late 2011 model) starting going nuts. The screen would turn white or become pixelated all the sudden, even if all i'm running is Chrome. The laptop is not over heated. This is what would happen:
Screen goes white or become pixilated
Computer shuts off on its own after a moment
Attempt to reboot, stuck on apple logo screen (pixilated)
Shuts off on its own again
The only way to reboot is through safe mode.
I've tried resetting SMC and running an apple hardware check.

  • My canon sx120IS continues to show low batter and shuts off even after changing the batteries.

My canon sx120 is  continues to show low battery and shuts off even after changing the batteries.  Any suggestions? Do I need to send it for repair somewhere, and if so, where?

    Hi LB!
Thank you for posting on our forum!
Try cleaning the electrical contacts on the camera and the batteries using a soft microfiber cleaning cloth.  If the same warning still displays, then the camera will need to be serviced.  To start the repair process, you'll need to complete a Repair Request on our website.
If the camera is more than a year old, you may participate in the Canon Loyalty Program instead.  The Canon Loyalty Program option allows you to replace your current camera for a discounted fee, plus shipping.  The original non-functioning camera would then be returned to Canon USA for recycling using a prepaid shipping label that would be provided.
If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (800) OK CANON (800-652-2666) seven days a week, 8am to Midnight.  Let them know you have been working with online support and the Canon Loyalty Program was offered.  Be sure to have your serial number for your camera at the time of your call.

You need the Apple ID and password that was originally used to set up the device. Ask the seller to give it to you. If the seller is unable or unwilling to provide the information, the Phone is probably stolen. There is nothing you can do.

  • My ipod 4th gen went onto a blank white screen and turned off. what should i do?

My iPod 4th gen was dead so I charged it, the apple sign appeared and stayed on the screen for about 10 minutes then went onto a blank white screen and turned off. Now I can't charge it and it has already happened multiple times. what should I do? I also don't know which iOS operating system it is, does that matter?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My MacBook Pro 13 won't start has white screen and beeps

I used my MacBook pro lastnight and worked fine. Tried to turn it on this morning and it won't start. Does sound like it is going to then before login screen shows ur goes to a solid white screen and beeps every 7 seconds. Need help school is about to start again.

    Check this out.
I think you have bad RAM, so either you've recently put in new RAM, knocked some RAM loose from the socket (really hard to do), or the RAM went bad (maybe).
You might need to see a real tech.
Upon further review, I think your MBP has a serious problem.  You need to take it to an Apple Store for repair.  If you bought it within the last 12 months, you will be able to get warranty service, as long as you're not at fault.

  • My iMac doesn't load past the start up white screen and doesn't reach the login screen.

I'm having issues trying to load my iMac up after i had to to shut it down the other day. when i start it up it makes the chirme
and reaches the white screen with the loading symbol but doesn't move on from there! Doesn't anyone know how to fix this to get to the login screen?

    Reinstall Lion.
    Reinstalling Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alterhatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer.

  • N6233 start,PIN code,white screen and shuts down i...

    Hello,
My N6233 after switching on and entering PIN shows only white screen with battery icon and shuts down automatically after a few seconds. Would it be possible to repair it by upgrading FW by using NSU or some another SW ?
    Thanks,
    Lubo

Have you tried removing the sim card and memory card then trying to switch it on?
If it still doesn't work then your only option is to take it to a nokia care point. You cannot use the NSU if the phone cannot boot up properly.
If it works without the sim and memory card let us know.

  • My iMac has a white screen and won't power up

When powering on my Mac, I get a white screen with apple logo and the circular progress icon (not the color pinwheel), it's been doing this for about 15 min. Suggestions????

The dark gray Apple is loaded off your Hard drive. So you can assume the Hard Drive mechanism is somewhat working.
You can try Booting is Safe Mode, which attempts one round if Hard Drive Repair and then starts with minimal extensions loaded.
The simplest task is to boot with the Option key held down. This should show a screen with an Icon for each bootable drive.
If running 10.7 choose Recovery HD, choose your language and run Disk Utility. Select your Hard Drive and Repair Disk.
If running 10.6 insert the Installer DVD, select it, boot from it and choose your language. Choose Disk Utility from the Utilities Menu. Select your Hard Drive and Repair Disk.

  • IMac suddenly shows white screen after update Yosemite to 10.10.1

The day after I installed the update(10.10.1) for Yosemite, regularly my iMac suddenly stops working by showing a white screen. After 10 seconds, the iMac reboots automatically and again shows a white screen. Than, it stops. No action. No noise. I'm  always obliged to stop the iMac by pressing the start button and restarting by holding the 'shift' key otherwise I have to look at a white screen again! In the save modus, I can work(typing this story) and restart the iMac. After a while, the whole show starts again. What can I do? Installing Yosemite again and whiteout the update? Can I undo the update? This once, I made no backup before the update(Murphy's law). Any suggestion will do!

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
    5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible

  • Starts with white screen and apple logo

After a software update (or during an update) my apple ipod touch does not start up any more.
It starts with the apple logo and after a while the screen turns white or blue and thats it.
Sometimes (after a reset) it starts looping apple logo ,  white screen, apple logo and so on.
    Is not recognized in itunes.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IMAC start issues: black screen and required to enter EXIT.

At iMAC start I get black screen with Root directory and requested to enter EXIT to continue. This happens very frequently. Can somebody help me to solve this issue? Thanks

I would suggest booting from the Recovery partition, choosing Disk Utilities, then running Repair Disk and Repair Permissions.  See if that clears this issue.
Others may have suggestions, but if the above doesn't work you may need to reinstall Mountain Lion...again, from the Recovery partition.

  • Curve 8520 os: 5.0.0.681 randomly crashing and only shows white screen and unable to reboot unless plugged in

Anyone else suffering from their curve 8520 os: 5.0.0.681 randomly crashing and only showing a white screen as well as it being unable to reboot unless it is plugged in? It often occurs when I'm playing media, using apps and maps. Had the same problem with my previous phone so it was sent in for repair and replaced but I'm still suffering from the same problem with the replacement handset! Any ideas how it fix this?
    Thanks

    Hello Me_Again
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums
Since you got a replacement it the same old Battery you are using or its a new Battery  with your replacement device.Sometime this white Screen or unable to reboot happen because of weak battery .I suggest if you can arrange a good quality Battery then try running your device a few hours to see if the problem is within the device or its just Battery issue.
