IMac switches off during startup

My iMac seems to be switching off at startup. Mostly at the Gray screen with the apple logo. SOmetimes it goes to the blue login screen and switches off. Few times ive been able to login to OSX and after a few minutes it switches off. What could be wrong? Ive tried to boot from the OSX disk but it switches off everytime i try and i cant! What could be wrong and what could i do?

Sounds like a dead battery. Try plugging it into a charger.

If the proximity sensor is covered by a case, your hand, or by being close to your face, the screen should go dark and unresponsive, but the call should not be disconnected.
Is there anything covering the proximity sensor? It is located between the earpiece and the top edge.

Phone switched off during updating my Lumia 520 to...

My fully Charged Lumia go switched off during final process of installation of Lumia Cyan Update, as probabily its battery goes off. Now when i connect it to a charger as phone restarts installation starts again, but after 20-30 min. battery screen starts showing, d 1 which shows when we connects a empty battery phone to a charger instead of installation one. and then after that nothing happening, i tried to charge my battery through desktop charger but after a defined completion % of installation process, phone phone again starts charging. what would i do?

Iphone 4 switchs off during call

i am having this problem since 2 month earlier when the batt level would drop to 50 the iphone used to get switched off during call.. i upgraded the phone to ios5.1 after that two monthsf it was fine but past three days it gets swicthed off during call as well as while surfing . even when the battery level is 100 % dont why this is happening???

First, try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose data, but it can clear some glitches after installing new software or apps.
If this does not help, set it up as new device, if necessary without using the latest backup, in case it contains corrupt files which are causing your problem.

IMac turning on and switching off during start-up after partitioning

Hi,
I tried installing Windows XP using Boot Camp on my iMac. During the partitioning process I got the spinning beach ball and the computer switched off.
After which, I tried powering on the iMac again and the apple logo is displayed for about half a minute and then the computer restarts. This is happening constantly!! I have tried resetting the SMC by unplugging the mains and the keyboard and mouse, but the same thing keeps happening.
What can be the problem?

Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Switches off after startup load

Hi there!
Once I switch my 2011 MacBook Pro on, the grey screen appears and the apple logo with the loading bar. Once the bar is fully loaded, the computer switches itself off. I cannot move from this grey screen because it's constantly doing it.
The operating system is OSX 10.9, and had a new hard drive installed in february.

Hello, My Imac is freezing during startup.

It chimes and bigins loading. The spinning circle freezes after a few moments. It is able to boot in safe mode. Using command v during startup this is the last line displayed "GFX8: family specific matching fails". Also, this Imac has the infamous overheating graphics card problem.

Have you attempted Disk Repair in Utilities? Are you still using 10.5.8 as your profile suggests?
As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...

Wake on (wan) iMac switched off, is it possible?

When I was a pc user I used to wake up my pc using wake on lan/wan feature.
With mac I can wake up the imac when it is asleep without any problem, but I can't when it is switched off; with pc is possible even when it is shutdown
Is it possible with Mac too? How?

HD 6870 Twin Frozr 'Hawk' switches off during gaming.

Hi, I installed some new parts to my computer last week and since that I've had a strange problem with my HD6870. Sometimes during gaming the graphics card seems to just 'switch off'. So what happens is that the screen suddenly goes black, or to 'sleep mode' and the red lights also shut off on my graphics card. The computer still stays on but I'm forced to shut it down from the start button.
The fans of the graphics card also start spinning even faster than usually, which to me looks like the card has overheated and now tries to cool itself down. But I have been monitoring the heats of the graphics card with AMD OverDrive and during gaming the heat is about 50 degrees celsius which seems very low though. Maybe the program is not the best for monitoring and gives false information? But anyways, this doesn't happen every time but still 1-2 times a day and during gaming.
My specs are:

AMD PHENOM X6 Black Edition 3.2Ghz

The Hard drive and PSU are old parts, the rest is new. I also don't have any extra fans in my case put I keep one side of the case completely open.

Also I would like to point out that actually the graphics card usually switches off when I'm done with gaming and I close my games and return to desktop, it rarely happens during gaming. I'm not sure if that has something to do with power consumption but that's just one thing I've noticed.

My computer switches off during iTunes+Quicktime installation

Older version of iTunes was not adequate for my new iPod Classic 160GB, so I downloaded the file, but when trying to install it, the computer swiches off by itself.
The support service of Apple told me to uninstall and delete all previous iTunes and Quicktime files, so I did, but the problem persists and the only advise they gave me was to come to this forum. Could you say which version of XP and Service pack you are using? You can see this by right clicking on My Computer and selecting Properties>>General tab.
If I understand you, you computer crashes when you attempt to install iTunes.
Do you see any kind of error message on the screen when the computer stops?
If you see a message, it would help if you could post the exact error message. It should be some sort of numbers and text -
0x(zeros/letters/numbers) (CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)
For example:
Stop 0x05 (INVALIDPROCESS_ATTACHATTEMPT)
Also is a file name mentioned in the error message? If so give the exact file name
if you're not seeing a blue screen (or just a flash of one), you can use this technique to make hidden blue screens appear:
1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
3) Click the "Settings" button in the "Startup and Recovery" section
4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.

My external hard drive accidentally switched off during Disk Utility's "erase free space" process. I restarted the external hard drive and Disk Utility, but now I get the "couldn't mount disk" error when trying to finish the erase. Please help!

My external Lacie Quadra hard drive accidentally switched off in the middle of "erase free space", and when I switched it back on Disk Utility was hanging. So I Force Quit Disk Utility and restarted it. Now when I try to erase I get
"Secure Disk Erase failed with the error: Couldn’t unmount disk."
But "erase free space" seems to work...
What can I do? I'm erasing as I'm giving the drive to someone else and I wanted to wipe it clean.
Also should I use "erase" or "erase free space" if I want to wipe the drive clean?
Please help!

Sorry I don't really understand.... there are no partitions on the drive. How do I repartition it?
And should I use "erasing free space" or "erase" for wiping clean my drive of everything? Erase seems to be faster last tiem I tried.

Batch switch off during delivery

Hi,
My client has activated batch at material level. For inbound delivery, batch charecteristics are manually entered and for outbound, automatic batch determination is activated.
we have a seperate plant created now for which we don;t want batches. Is there any exit or way available where i can switch off the batch (only for outbound delivery or for that plant) now?

If you dont want to carry the batch management at sales document and delivery level use below T.codes
V/CA to deactivate at sales order item level
V/CL to deactivate at delivery item level
in the above t.code once you enter in to that you need to identify your item category and remove the tick mark.

When I switch on it switches off again before the bootup is completed, if I try again it switches of quicker.

Is this Neo or Neo2 board?
Is your memory in either slots 1&3 or 2&4? If so, do you have your ram voltage set to at least 2.65?
