  • Epson Photo R2400 printing problems

I'm new to Mac, and I'm having problems printing from Photoshop CS2 for Mac to a brand new Epson Photo R2400 printer attached to my MacPro via the front panel firewire connection. The problem seems to occur with larger files (91mbyte or greater). The printing is interrupted my a "Printer Communication Error" which gives me no other choice but to shut down the print job, which results in my expensive, partially printed photo being ejected from the printer...this is getting expensive, folks...anybody with a solution to this problem? BTW, I downloaded the latest drivers for Mac from the Epson website and installed them, so I don't think it's a driver issue.
    Thanks

Wow. I haven't seen that one. I have a 2200 on FireWire on my Mac Pro. But the biggest file I remember printing was 71MB.
Are you by any chance using custom paper sizes? I had a communications problem when I set up a custom paper size that didn't use the printer's margins, a problem I found through Google.

  • CS5, New IMac and Epson R2400 = terrible prints

Please can anyone help.  I have a new I Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.4.  I have just purchased CS5 and I have an Epson R2400.  I cannot get a decent print despite spending hours trawling the internet for help and carrying out every suggestion under the sun.  Please can someone help before I throw out the €3000 worth of kit that is worse than useless outside.
    Yours hopefully Sue

    Hi Sue
I have the same configuration as you and I am happy with the output.
What actual problems do you have. Maybe I can help.

  • Epson PS R2400 won't print 13 by 20

For the last few days, my Epson Photo Smart R2400 will only print a 8.5 x 11 portion of a 13x20 document. I have iMac Power Mac on 10.5.6. I have tried everything possible to get this printer to print the full page (and I've been using these printers and ID professionally for almost 10 years). Epson says it's an InDesign problem (CS3). I can export a PDF and it prints almost full size in Photoshop. Have ALL latest drivers, upgrades, etc. Anyone else have this problem? Do I have to reinstall CS3?
And believe me when I say I've tried every possible paper combination, trashed preferences, reinstalled drivers, reinstalled printers -- unless there's that one, obscure box that is/isn't ticked I've managed to miss for the past seven days.
I have a deadline, of course, and would very much appreciate any help.

Thanks, Tom, we've tracked down everything, reinstalled CS3, Epson drivers. This problem is InDesign specific. The printer will print large format in Photoshop, Illustrator, MSWord, etc., but NOT InDesign (with brand new documents with only a lined box on the page.) Only 8.5x11. I've jiggered margins, paper selectors, you name it, and it doesn't help. The same file prints out in CS4 (another designer's machine). I haven't brought it over to my house, but that won't solve this mystery.
Does anyone have any idea why this version of ID will only print 8.5 x 11 of the large format?

  • How do i run my epson stylus r2400 with snow leopard?

i recently updated my imac with the snow peopard software, but now my epson r2400 stylus printer will not work with the computer. at first the color was off, adding a blue cast and over saturating. so i went to epson and did additional updates as suggested in other posts. one i did this, the printer would not work at all as if the computer wasn't even connected. is there a way to run my r2400 with snow leopard or is time to upgrade my printer? and if so, what is a comparable printer that would also run with mounain lion?
    thanks!

    Hello taracass3,
You may want to remove any existing queues for the printer in your Print & Fax preferences pane, then re-add the printer. If it's still not working correctly, I'd recommend resetting the printing system.
    To delete a Print Queue
Click the print queue you would like to remove from the list in the "Printers" pane.
Click the - (minus) button below the "Printers" pane.
Click "Delete Printer" in the "Are you sure..." confirmation sheet.
To reset the printing system (if necessary)
Control-click or right-click a print queue in the "Printers" pane.
Choose "Reset printing system..." from the contextual menu.
Click "OK" in the "Are you sure..." confirmation sheet.

  • Soft proofing issue in CS4 using iMac and Epson 3880?

I have had great success printing to an Epson r1900 never using soft proofing. Purchased a new 3880 and having colour problems. A suggestion was made to use soft proofing. Monitor is calibrated using iOne-looks very good to the eye. Working space from camera to PS is Adobe RGB. I am setting my custom output device to ICC profile for paper (ilford and hanhmule) Is this correct/ 9or should I be setting to Epson Apple RGB? On screen, the proof color looks WAY off the monitor non-proof version, which is spot on, but when I print the image it doesn't look at all like the "soft proof" it looks more like the monitor version. I have read everything I can find-printing on the 3880 is a crap-shoot. Sometimes it matches the screen, sometimes it doesn't and when it doesn't it also isn't matching the soft proof.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Victoria....
Seems I was to much an optimist...heh
As I mentioned I did get LR4b on the Imac to find the icc profiles of my epson 2880 but while I was trying to figure out why it would not read my epson 3880 icc profiles and others LR4b suddely corrupted the pref filels once again and I was at ground zero... Just like I was when I first posted on the forum.
I again threw out the LR4b pref files and it brought back the epson 2280 profiles only??
So why can't it find my epson 3880 icc profiles or others and only the 2880's... and why do the pref files corrupt.  I was actually soft proofing when the corruption took place and the icc profiles disappeared.
I'm running the exact same OS on my Macbook Pro and none of these issues have surfaced.
Oh... I did notice that the fact I require authenication to trash LR4b on the Imac did excist on the Macbook Pro as well ... so I'm guessing this normal or I have two wierd computers.
    Got to love computers..
    Thanks

  • O.T. iMac and Epson Printer Issues

I have just set up my new 20" iMac running OS 10.5.6 and have been testing my various peripherals.
Printing old saved PSE3.0 images on my Epson 1290 (1280) they are coming out noticeably darker than when printed under OS 10.3.9. I deliberately did nothing with the saved files in PSE,just clicked print to avoid introducing any screen calibration issues, and the correct .icc profile had been added to Library/Color Sync/ Profiles for the paper I was using (and have always used).
Is this a known problem with an iMac running Leopard ?

Perhaps I should have done this before starting my thread, but who wants to reinvent the wheel !
Having spent many hours this morning, and even more sheets of paper to resolve this problem,I have come to the following conclusions on printing an image from PSE3 in Leopard :
USING THE EPSON PRINTER DRIVER -
Leave the printer manage colour - color controls - photo realistic - gamma 1.8
    USING GUTENPRINT DRIVER (http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/MacOSX.php)
Make no changes to Color Sync use Automatic
Do not change the .icc profile (although I did leave it set in PSE3).
Adjust print quality to max possible.
Both these options give acceptable prints, Epson perhaps a shade darker.
I preferred the colour representation in Gutenprint, but that is obviously a personal thing. Whether they'd satisfy someone making a living from photography is another matter.
In the future I will probably tweak the lightness in PSE to compensate for the slight darkening in the print process, but probably leave the colours alone.
    Two other points -
The Gutenprint driver seems to print more quickly.
Adobe and Apple don't seem to care.

  • Trouble Printing with a Epson Photo R2400

So, this printer does weird things. It prints fine from regular apps like safari, MS Word or even PhtoShop. However, if you try to print a photo from iphoto it it will send a print job to the printer and then suddenly stop. So far I have done the following:
    1) Removed the printer completely and reinstalled it
    2) Downloaded the newest drivers from epson and installed them
    3) Deleted all user prefs related to iphoto and printing and printing services
    4) Ran disk warrior to see if any file system corruption was causing it
    5) Installed customer color profiles from that printer that epson released.
    6) Tried a new user account all together

I'm trying to print from Aperture 1.5 using a Epson R2400 on a Macbook Pro. Also using the Intel driver. In the printer settings the print settings and color management are crossed out. Anyone else with this problem? Any solutions?
    Thanks

  • HT204135 Photoshop CS5 Printing Problem on iMac with Epson 3880 printer

All of a sudden I can't print from Photoshop CS5 on my iMac with OSX Mountain Lion installed.  I am able to print from Illustrator, however.   Have tried to update the Epson 3880 driver. After clicking on "Print", it doesn't register with the computer, and from then on, the "Print" option is greyed out.

Are you using moab icc profiles or are you using one of the epson profiles?
I always use the moab profiles which you can download from their Web site. This way you are matching the specific epson printer with the specific moab paper.
At that point you change the printer manages color to Lightroom manages color and select the specific profile. Very easy to do - they even have instructions on the Moab site for installing the profiles if you haven't done that.
Once installed you can also use them through the system print dialogs in PS but it is really much much easier to use in LR - Since coming on board with LR last summer, I have switched to doing ALL printing from LR. Since you mentioned that you are having the same problem with LR and PS, I'm betting you are using epson profiles and this will solve your problem.
    Hope so
    Tom

  • Print problem. Mac OS 10.9.4, Epson Stylus R2400.

Hi, I'm choosing Premium photo luster and premium glossy profiles, but when I go into print settings it's only offering me Matt, Velvet Fine Art, & Water color style papers. I have the correct Photo Black Ink installed for color prints. I've been using this printer of years now and have never had this problem. I upgraded to Photoshop CC 2014 a few months ago and have had success printing, so I have no idea whats going on.

I supposed you already looked, but just in case here is the Epson support site.
Epson Stylus Photo R2400, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
Also OSX 10.9.5 update has been released.
I can't think of anything else at the moment since I do not have this model.

  • Imac and Epson printer no longer connected even though wi fi fine

Help! we have a brill imac, and an Epson photo printer,  Epson PX730WD air printer) printer is showing as wi-fi fine, but when I go to print the imac is saying no printer found, even though all the details are there and it has worked fine for over a year! we are no tech wizards and are lost!!!!

I've got a wifi printer (Brother) that works absolutely fine and just randomly stops working via wifi, maybe 2 or 3 times a year. The only way I can get it back is to delete the printer and add it again - re-joining the network and adding the wifi network password again (all done through the control panel on the printer).
Just occasionally I have had to reset the printing system when a simple deletion and re-adding the printer hasn't worked:

  • Cannot print to Epson photo r2400 w/airport

I have a macbook pro and cannot print to an r2400. The priinter workds with my g4 powerbook and prior to an airport firmware update. I get a looking for printer message for several minutes and then I get a message that says: " Communication error" at times it gives you code" (-70012)" The printer does work when directl connected to the printer
    Help

I'm so embarrassed.  The reason I was having trouble printing is because I did not install the latest print driver from Epson for Mountain Lion 10.8.1.   I thought of this in the shower and tried it and now everything is fine.
I hope I didn't send anybody on a wild goose chase.

  • IMac and Epson R260

Purchased Epson R260 printer and installed driver provided by Epson on web site.
Unable to print from iPhoto using iMac G5.
Able to print directly from Pictures folder and from Adobe Lightroom.
What should I do to enable printing from iPhoto
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    To Apple Discussions!
Did you repair permissions after the installation? If so, then I suggest that you cross-post in the Printing & Faxing Forums &/or the iPhoto Forums.
You may also wish to contact Epson tech support. They are fantastic in troubleshooting as they are very hands on & will take you through the process step by step.
    Good luck!

  • Does iMac support epson 1800 printers  with os 10.6.8?

I am trying to use an epson R1800 printer with my iMac.  It prints very dark photos that do not match the screen image.  Does this OS support these printers. Have other users seen this problem.  Is there any help out there?
    Thanks,
    Jo

If you upgrade an iOS device to iOS 7, iTunes version 10.7 is sufficient.
iTunes 11.1.3 does indeed work on OS X 10.6.8. To my knowledge, iTunes 10.7 will also run on OS X 10.6.8.
