IMAC (ver 10.4) / HP (XP home) Laptop & WRT300N v.1

Question

No problem acessing the router with the hp.
No problem turning the imac's aiport on and also immediately accessing router.
Problem: We've WEP'd,disabled SSID, and enabled MAC through the firmware (using latest version of software) on the hp - however, now the imac can't find the router. Haven't changed the password yet or renamed the network. Can't find address on imac (Apple's tech support is closed on weekends).
Other issue 1: SES didn't function with the hp and have no idea how activate the "START" on the imac.
Next issue: Security light is not lit on router and hp wireless connect still shows 'unsecured' connection. What did I miss?
No firmware available in .bin format for the imac.

As you have disabled SSID broadcast, u will not be able to see the wireless network on IMAC. Also you have enabled MAC filtering on the router. In order to get the wireless  MAC address of the IMAC, click on the Apple icon -> System Preferences -> Network. Select airport here in the show box and the page will give u the wireless MAC address of the airport.  The security light is not lit that means wireless security is not enabled. Try enabling the wireless security once again manually. open Internet explorer ……in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 (default IP address). Leave the username field blank  and in the password type “admin” ( Default Password). When the configuration page loads up fully…..click on the tab that says wireless…just below wireless click on the sub-tab that wireless security….try changing the security settings here.  Powercycle the router……If security light still does not come ON……upgrade the router firmware.
