IMac won't turn on...............PLEASE REPLY!!!!!!

My iMac will NOT turn on. I've done everything. Disconnected power cord for a couple days, and it didn't work after trying to start it up. Took out all things connected to it - mouse, keyboard, printer, iPod, internet cord. WHen i press the power button in the back nothing happens whatsoever --> no fan, no sounds, nothing. Any reply is helpful. Thanks.

1. Test the wall outlet or try another wall outlet in a different part of the house!
2. Try another power cord (a standard PC power cord will work) for testing!
3. Take it to the nearest Apple Store or Apple Service provider for service!

The Avast antivirus software was downloaded onto my imac and now my imac won't turn on. What should I do?

Read and follow all the steps.
If you find yourself at Step 6 determine if you can start the Mac in "Safe Mode":
Safe Mode or "Safe Boot" is a troubleshooting mode that bypasses all third party system extensions and loads only required system components. Read about it: Starting up in Safe Mode
You must disable FileVault before you can start your Mac in Safe Mode.
Starting your Mac in Safe Mode will take longer than usual, graphics will not render smoothly, audio is disabled on some Macs, and some programs (iTunes for example) may not work at all.
Merely starting your Mac in Safe Mode is not intended to resolve the problem, it's to observe its performance without certain additional components.
To end Safe Mode restart your Mac normally. Shutdown will take longer as well.
Remove the Avast garbage by using its uninstaller. Never install it, or anything like it, ever again.

Your iMac is actually turning ON as proven by the grey folder with the flashing question mark.
The flashing question mark indicates that your system is unable to find a bootable volume. The clicking sound that you hear is probably coming from your hard drive while it tries to recalibrate. I suspect your hard drive has failed.
What model imac do you have? If it's under warranty I suggest taking it in for service. Hopefully you've been maintaining a regular backup of your data as all users should. I lost my data once and it was a valuable lesson. I back up regularily now.
If your iMac came with install disks then you can boot from them, choose your language when asked, then pull down the Utilities menu to launch the Disk Utility application. The Disk Utility application will allow you to verify whether your hard drive has an issue. Usually a clicking sound, assuming it's coming from the hard drive, is a sign of a bad hard drive.
If your system has Lion installed then you can hold down the Command and R keys when you restart the system, then launch the Disk Utility application from the menu that appears.

ok so i need an answer within ten minutes of this post if you don't have an answer for me withing ten minutes don't bother posting, so it's 10 30 at night i wanna put a new cd i just bought onto my ipod so i upload the cd to my mac plugin my ipod and the stupid ipod updater pops up, i usually ignore this annoying little window but i figured what the heck and clicked update anyway, so my ipod starts to update and the screen goes to the apple with a little bar underneath when nothing happens for ten minutes i figure i need to restart it or something right because this was my first time updating the new ipod, so i restart it and the thing won't turn on again i tried to reset and could find no troubleshooting for this problem, please help me!!!! i could go in the morning and get a new one at the place where i bought it but i really don't have the time seeing im starting school tomorrow, thanks

MacBook Air won't turn on :( please help me !

A few weeks ago I dropped my Macbook air on tiles (not from a very high distance at all) and the next day when I turned it on it worked fine. Then after a few days it randomly shut down twice so I shut it down for a few hours and after that it worked fine again. Then the next day it shut down randomly again so I asked my bf to help and I think he downloaded a software or something on it without telling me because I always tell him not to download anything. when I tried turnin it on again it made a noise like a big fan (I'm not sure if this was before or after my be touched it) and now it won't turn on at all the charger still works because the light is green when I plug it in. I also noticed that there is a crack on the bottom which may have been from dropping It. Im going away this afternoon and won't be able to take it to an Apple store until I get back but if anyone can please tell me what might be wrong with it and if it's hard to fix/ expensive to fix or fixable at all can you please let me know ! I will appreciate it so much !!

Sounds like a power shortage, where you aren't supplying enough power to power the iMac.
Try turning off some things and retry.
Maybe it's a bad power cable connector. If you narrow it down to this, contact an Apple Genius.

USB power management is part of the SMC (system management controller). Try to reset SMC: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Then get a self-powered USB external hub. It takes power from a wall socket and saves the MBP power system. Starting at $20 at BestBuy and similar stores.

IMac won't turn on and fans come on right when plugged in

An iMac I have won't turn on but the fan runs. I don't even have to turn it on, I just plug it in and they go on. When I press the power button nothing, but the fan still runs. I have to unplug it to stop them.
Does anybody know anything I can try to see if I can get it working again?

You may be able to see if the situation changes somewhat by trying a
reset of the power management unit, via a button hidden in a location
beneath the iMac (G4) base plate. See info in the following page links:

Before attempting to perform either reset, read through each of the
pages to see what they have in mind; could be a PRAM reset may
do OK. Or both may lead one to consider entirely different actions.
If PMU button is held too long an otherwise healthy PRAM battery may
have a shortened life; or a weak old battery may already be dead. The
battery (a 1/2AA 3.6V Lithium cell) keeps the system settings current.
There is a possibility the unit may have some other hardware issues, too.
Troubleshooting one of these without an official service manual or trained
iMac G4 technician (is there an antique iMac doctor in the house?) can be
a tedious process; as the official tech manual will refer to replacement of
original parts with known-good official ones, as part of an extensive repair.
After the PMU is reset, perhaps it may boot up; or may boot from an install
DVD or CD. An original Apple Hardware Test for the computer may be of
some help in general diagnosis; but even bad hard drives can pass, at times.
Is there any other indication of the computer trying to run, other than Fan?
That's hard enough to hear much else inside the case, with the fan running.
(There is only the single fan in the top of the housing; to pull air up/out.)
Which specific iMac G4 build version do you have? (700/800/1.0 or 1.25)

IMac won't turn on after power cut

When my iMac is unexpectedly turned off, ether at the wall or during a power cut, it won't then come back on immediately. Sometimes it will come back on after an hour, sometimes after a couple of days. Anyone know why this is? There is no logic to it. I've tried all the trouble shooting stuff; the resetting SMC for example. And I've got a surge protector. I've also taken it into an Apple store, a round trip of 3 hours, twice already over the past couple of months. But after doing some diagnostic tests on it they can find nothing wrong. Also, when they go to turn it on, it fires up immediately. I was told that unless they experience the problem themselves they can't do anything. Which means I'm forever taking it in to them, during this problem, on the off chance it may still be a problem when I get there. It's very infuriating. Help!!!

Ok - I am completely clueless here. My father's iMac - left overnight in sleep mode - won't turn back on. I held down the power button and waiting for over a minute, then turned it back on. It gave me 3 loud beeps and won't turn back on - the power button light flashes green and yellow. Anyone have any ideas what is going on and if this is fixable? Odd things that have been happening the past month or so: Safari browser gone out of whack - graphic / text loading funny - Switched to Firefox. MAIL started yesterday acting weird. Usually left open, but with the window closed - was unable to open window. When I selected new message window I would get a new window the folders wouldn't show, nor would the toolbox on top. Had to go to the menues and have them show. But then I closed this window, another window, without these feature would appear and I would not be able to close it at all. Finally had to delete the preferences and add the email accounts info again for it to work again properly.
I have no idea if this was telling me that something was starting to be wrong with the computer. I just took it that my father did something he wasn't suppose to do (He is really computer illiterate and can only do basic stuff on the computer when he's alone)
I hope he hasn't lost his computer completely - I don't want him having to use MINE (for the reasons above!)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My Creative Zen4gb Won't turn on please help...............

Well I had my zen 4gb mp3 for about a year worked fine and everything until today I was listening to the radio and it just went off by it self, It was fully charged so the battery was not low. I try to reset it and it just show the label Creative sign then stood their then it turn off by it self, Now when I hook it up to my computer the black screen still won't turn on.

Sorry for the late response I brought a charger ,It still wouldn't turn on for anything, The only thing that it did when I plugged in the charger adapter into the wall the light was blue for a few secs and that was it, It was charging for 7hours or more, I try to get the recovery thing on my computer but everytime I plug my mp3 to my computer its like it doesn't exist basically my player is not turning on for nothing.
Do you the Zen company could fix the is problem like a payment thing I'm really to pay for it.
