Imac wont load accounts! (except for 1)

Hi, my imac just stopped loading 3 of my 4 accounts.
When i log into any of the 3 it loads up to where the Macintosh HD icon would load and then it starts blinking.. and when i click on any app it automatically force closes.
Does anyone know whats wrong?

HI,
*"then it starts blinking."*
Is it a flashing question mark???
You need to see if you can boot from your install disk.
Insert Installer disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu (Panther and earlier) or Utilities menu (Tiger and later) and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
If you cannot boot from your install disk, try booting in Safe Mode

    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

  • IMac wont load install DVD 10.5 on iMac g4

I have older iMac g4, which i've kept for design-reasons - its nice to look at.
I bought it as demo-model from a dealer when the model just had gone out of production.
    It runs OSX 10.3.9.
    I wanted to upgrade to 10.5, so I bought an original second-hand DVD;
"MAC OS Leopard - Install DVD - Version 10.5 - 2Z691-6037-A" (black-blue color; NOT grey)
It wont load at all. It just runs in the drive for 10 - 15 seconds and then autoejects. Same thing if I restart pressing "c". At no time does the disc appear on the desktop or a start window opens. Just nothing.
The CD drive works ok - can read and burn.
I tried to start the Install DVD in the new iMac and the iBook; both macs can read the dvd and opens the install window.
    What should I do ?

It sounds like a problem with the Mac not being able to read the disc rather than the disc being an upgrade-only edition etc as it won't even read it - do other DVDs (not just CDs, as sometimes a drive will partly die and be able to read CDs but not DVDs, or vice versa) definitely work in the drive?
I think a few of the early iMac G4s came with only a CD-RW drive ie not compatible with DVDs at all, so again testing another DVD will show if you have one of those. If this is the case you could try using Target mode to install using the DVD drive in another Mac, if you don't want to replace/upgrade the drive in the G4.

  • HT1750 Imac wont load after turning it on, all i get is a blue screen. Serial number: W8*****X85

imac desktop wont load after turning it on, all i get is a light blue screen. I ve tried to unplug the computer and wait awhile before turning it back on but i still get the light blue screen. Please help

Start up using your original install discs by inserting the disc and holding the C key while rebooting. Run Disk Utility to repair the drive and restart. If everything goes ok run Software Update again.

  • I need help i dropped my phone in water, dried it, and now it wont play sound except for on the headphones

i dropped my phone in water and now it wont play sound except in headphones and i even dried it!

You'll have to buy an out of warranty phone at the apple store.
Just because you dried doesn't mean that there wasn't any damage done.

  • Adobe reader 11 wont load signed feature for a specific user on VDI

    Hey all,
New to the forums so please if i mess something up let me know.
We Run xendesktop 5 for our vdi systems and we have one user, only one user, that when they load the adobe reader there sign document feature does not load what so ever, i have tried multiple test accounts that have same permission and it loads just fine,  other users running same desktop the feature loads just fine.  i am really baffuled as to why the feature will not load for this specific user.  just a troubleshooting note, i had the user log into a physical machine with the same adobe reader version and the sign feature loaded for them just fine, its only in the vdi system where it will not load.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!!!

could you attach any screenshots ? one when it works fine and the other when it doesn't - so that the issue can be understood better.

  • Since March 5th Firefox will not load pages except for Homepage.

Firefox just says "connecting" on the tab and after thirty minutes the page doesn't load. I have tried restarting my computer a few times, and have uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox. It is not a problem with the connection and does not appear to be a problem with my security. I've been using Firefox for over a year on this computer, then suddenly this. What do I do?

Type '''about:preferences#advanced'''<Enter> in the address bar.
    Under '''Advanced,''' Select '''Network.'''
Look for '''Configure How Firefox Connects''' and press the '''Settings''' button.
    Check the settings.
Some problems occurs when your Internet security program was set
to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your
updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow
    Firefox to connect to the Internet again;
    * Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
    * Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

  • IMac wont load ISO on disk

I just burned a disc about an hour ago that contains an iso file on it (from my Windows computer). when i tried to load it in my Imac 27", it didnt show any indication of recognizing the disk. i burned the exact same thing on another disc, and it still did not work. it is not the disk as it loads perfectly well on my windows computer. any suggestions? DVD+R 4.7 GB disc. 27" Late 2009 iMac

  • My Imac wont load the HD.

When I start my mac i get the folder with the question mark on it. I put in start-up disk and ran disk utility put dsnt show the HD anywhere, does that mean its dead? I need to recover that drive and get it fixed fast. Any idea how to fix it and much that will cost.

You fix it by replacing the drive. If the drive is dead you cannot recover anything from it unless you are willing to spend a lot of money to send it to recovery specialists.
But perhaps you might try this first:
Booting From An OS X Installer Disc
    1. Insert OS X Installer Disc into the optical drive.
    2. Restart the computer.
    3. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the "C" key.
    4. Release the key when the spinning gear below the dark gray Apple logo appears.
    5. Wait for installer to finish loading.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.

  • No upgrade order confirmation received or a receipt shown in my account, except for retail installement plan contract. How do I know my order was processed since the 25th of September?

The device installment plan says I start paying in November... but how do I know the More plan with Verizon Edge was processed with my iphone upgrade. I never received email confirmation or receipt of my order--anywhere. It's been a couple of weeks. Please help!

        CrownPrincess,
Congrats on your new phone! It's surely important to understand your Edge Agreement and account plan. You can view your Agreement under Documents and Receipts section of your My Verizon account http://bit.ly/xB4iTc. Your current calling plan will be shown there, as well. • My iPhone 3GS displayed a message that it was overheated, now it wont turn on except for the Apple logo, and iTunes doesn't recognize it!

My iPhone 3GS displayed a message saying it was over heating and to turn it off.
I turned it off and the next day that I turned it back on, it wont go passed the main Apple screen.
It had a message to re-connect to iTunes, then that the IMEI and SIM were unknown.
Now it wont turn on at all!!

  • TS4036 I purchased a new iphone 4.  The store did my restore and everything was restored from my icloud account except for my music.  What should I do next?

I am having problems downloading my music to my iphone after a restore.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Syncing from iTunes on the computer is the prefered option assuming you have a computer and have all your music in it's library, otherwise:
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.

  • My safari just wont load, everything else works so connection ok

    Hi
My Safari on my imac wont load up at all it just bounces on the bar then nothing, itunes and email work fine so connection is good...........??

Make sure the Safari app is in the Applications folder.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Deselect: Enable plug ins Quit then relaunch Safari. If Safari loads pages, troubleshooting help here. Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Check Safari / Preferences - Extensions. If you have any installed, turn that off, quit, relaunch Safari.
Check for Login Items:  Open System Preferences/Accounts then select the Login Items tab. Delete any files or apps you have listed there. And go to /Library/Startup Items. Move any files in the Startup Items folder to the Trash.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 15% free disk space.
Try Safari in another user account. Same problems there, then log back into your admin account, launch Disk Utility.  /Applications/Utillities.
Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk  (not Verify Disk Permissions). If the startup disk needs repairing, follow the instructions for Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks
