Image background changes colour when exported

Hi there,
I have placed a jpg image (also tried it as a bmp) onto my report... The section background is white... The image background is white.
When the report is run, everything appears fine... HOWEVER, when the report is exported to PDF, the image background is slightly tinted (ie RGB 255, 255, 255 to 251, 254, 253).
I've tried the Report Options / Retain original image colour depth and Export Registry Settings options listed in other posts but still get the same results.
Does anyone have any ideas so I can hopefully this customer off my back.
Cheers,
Mat

When you zoom in PDF file the color depth decreases. In report level make it in large size and try to export it.

  • Please help: Book Cover Changes Colour When Exported

    Hi there,
I have designed a book jacket with a black background - all fairly minimalistic design elements for an economics book.
When I export the file to PDF or png - I am getting the inverse image in terms of colour and the text is an outline instead of its actual colour.
I am not sure what I have done or what I should do. Please help..l[

    Echoing what Peter touched on.
Mac Preview does not address all the Adobe modules in Acrobat.
    Acrobat is best for viewing.
You say it's a dust jacket, dust jackets are print, so have you used a print profile of CMYK that your printer has provided?
If not - then please get one. Also calibrate you monitor for colour.
If it's being printed, get a colour proof and talk with your printers on colour issues.

  • Logo changes colours when background browerser colour changes?

Hey Guys, i am trying to work out how to animate a black logo to change to white when the background browerer colour changes when scrowling in Adobe muse. Does anyone know how i can achieve that?

Use two (or more) versions of the logo, then use Opacity in Scroll Effects to select which logo shows at a given point when you scroll. Have a look at Typographica Media for an example of this (the copyright notice at the bottom of the page – desktop version).

  • Cannot change DPI when exporting a PDF page into a raster image format

Since I installed the Mac OS X 10.5.6 update, I can no longer change the resolution of the images I'm trying to export (for example, PNG or TIFF files) from PDF documents.
The resolution is always set to "150 pixels / inch," and even if I change the amount to lower or higher, or change the unit to "pixels / cm," the document is exported in 150 pixels/inch, while the settings set previously in the "Save As" dialogue to export the file have been reverted.
    Is there any workaround?

Let me guess, the DPI is just some data in the metadata of the file, right? I thought I would get more pixels in the image instead. Let's say, an image at 200x300 pixels at 150 ppi would be 400x600 pixels at 300 ppi, which is what I thought it would do.
    Am I wrong?

  • Links working but changing colour when clicked

    Hi
All my links in my sidebar are working fine i.e. they open the correct page. However, I want the background colour on hovering to be #999 and the links to be #009 when the page opens. The former is fine but when the page opens in any browser the links show up in a different colour even though they are the correct colour when viewed in Design or Live View.
The css rule is set to background colour #999 and colour #009 but I can´t figure out where the other colour is coming from. Also, when I click on the links in the live browser on some pages they change and stay changed to the #009 colour even when I change page.
    You´ll see what I mean here www.theonlineenglishclass.com
    Thanks

Sorry to keep on but I keep going back to your page and looking:
    Add this:
    color:#000099;
to the rule I mentioned in the previous post.
Your links will then apply the color you want to the text but I think it will then apply to the link in each state.

  • Imported B&W NEF images appear as colour when opened!

Odd one here. Have searched the forum but while there are some B&W issues discussed, nothing matches this one.
OS X 10.6.4, iphoto '09 build (8.1.2). Camera Nikon D90 using NEF images. Camera set to take B&W. Camera is using Colour Profile Adobe RGB 1998.
Camera takes B&W photos. I can see this in the LCD viewer. I can also see B&W thumbnails of the images via Finder when looking directly into the SD card.
Then I open iPhoto, select the SD card and even iPhoto will display B&W thumbnails. So far so good.
Now I do the import into iPhoto, but then after the import is completed the thumbnail images display as colour images. Even when you open the image it displays in colour.
    How can this be ?
Have not found anything specific to this particular issue on the 'net to date, Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks, I understand what you are saying.
The Nikon D90, has a Picture Control setting called Monochrome, This I thought, allows the shooter to take the picture in B&W, by doing an in-camera conversion from colour to B&W and stores the B&W image on the card. But then this doesn't explain why it opens in colour on OS X (??).
So more likely it as you say, the camera is taking and storing a colour image, but has a flag embedded in it to indicate it was 'shot' in B&W.
Oddly enough, under Windows XP using the free MS NEF viewer, the pictures do actually display in B&W ..thumbnails and when they are fully opened. I suspect then there is a bit or flag in the NEF processor in iPhoto 09 is not recognising and therefore shows the colour version. Does this make sense ?

  • Images downsized and converted when exporting to PDF

I have Pagemaker 7.0.1 installed on Virtual XP so that I can help out a family member.
Pagemaker's embedded Acrobat 4 was not working properly so I installed my Acrobat 9.0 on Virtual XP. This unfortunately has not solved the problem, which is:
My images are greyscale and 300 ppi when imported into Pagemaker. When exported to PDF using Acrobat 9.0, the images are being converted to CMYK and exported at about 50% of the actual size. Interestingly, those images that are only at 200 ppi are converted but not downsampled.
This is happening no matter how I fiddle with the settings. Happens to both jpegs and tiffs.
I found an old thread on another forum where this problem occurred but a solution was not found or posted.
    Any ideas?
    Michelle

This reply is a series of comments and suggestions rather than a definitive answer.
    1. Your set up is less than perfect, if not unstable, and will be prone to all sorts of bizarre behaviours.
    2. Never copy/paste a graphic or table into PageMaker.  Always use the Place command. The only "exception" would be that you can copy and paste a properly Placed graphic from within your PageMaker document.
When placing images in a PageMaker file, the following message appears: “The graphic in the linked file would occupy xxxxxxx bytes in the publication. Include the complete copy in the publication anyway?” The correct answer to this question is always "NO".
(You can permanently avoid this popup in future docs by unchecking "store copy in publication" under Element -> Link Options with no publication open. You can do the same to avoid further prompts in pre-existing documents.)
    3. Try updating PM to Ver 7.0.1a which had a better Export… AdobePDF…macro. http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=34&platform=Windows
    4. In PageMaker’s Print dialogue, click on the Options button, and check "Write PostScript to File." Select the "Normal" radio button. Set both Type 1 and TrueType fonts to download. As always, set the Send TIF/Images option to Normal and NOT Optimized. Make other settings elsewhere in the print dialog as desired, such as "paper" size, crop marks, separations, etc.
    5. With your non-standard setup, try the two stage print then distill process. Create a PS file using a postscript printer file, then load Distiller and convert the PS file to PDF.  Note: if you have hyperlinks in your PMD file, they will not appear in your PDF and need to be re-created using Acrobat.
    6. It's time to leave PM and move on to InDesign - see it as PM Ver 13.
    7. Aternatively, use PM7 on a contemporary Win2K PC.  http://bigjohnd.org.uk/PageMakerExportPDF/index.htm

  • Image Quality of Slideshow When Exported for YouTube

I have attempted several slideshows using A3 and the export quality I find is rather poor. The resulting file is an M4V. Is this a common problem or should I be looking at another form of creating/exporting the slideshow? Play back in A3 has excellent quality but when exported it gets badly degraded.

Yes I'm aware of it, I have tried it with the ipod setting as well as the hd setting and in hd all I got was audio. I'm trying one in 720 now and will see if this setting is any better

  • Indesign ME CS6: Punctuation marks change direction when exporting to PDF

When exporting to PDF (for press) -  some punctuation marks (! & ") beahve as if they're "left -> right" (in the PDF only!) instead of "right->left" - as they appear in the open file.

If I understand this correctly, then before you opened a PC-sourced INDD, this never happened? And now it happens with all new files? Was that PC-sourced InDesign file from an English non-ME install of ID?
If doing so is not a big deal for you, I would almost want to suggest the "Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure" approach coined by Sigourney Weaver's character in Aliens. I.e. something happened to your ME install by simply opening up a non-ME file, and clearing prefs didn't fix it, so I'd be ready to uninstall, run the Adobe Clean tool, and reinstall.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
I hope that I'm wrong, and that there is some kind of preference that can be tweaked to get this to work correctly. I'd start by removing Font Explorer X entirely. It's also worth trying to make a new user in OS X and seeing if a fresh user experiences the same issue.

  • How do I stop NEF images changing colour when I click on them in adobe bridge

    Windows 7
    Photoshop CS3
    Nikon DX40
    Photos shot as NEF files
I am experiencing a problem when I look at my NEF images in Adobe Bridge. When I load them in and look at the thumb nails without clicking on them or opening them, the images look fine. As soon as I click on the images (just to select it not to actually open it) the colours change quite dramatically and i can't get back to the original images. It looks as if a greenish tone is put onto them and some of the detail is lost.
I have tried the obvious things like resetting to default settings etc. Does anyone have any suggestions? thanks

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

Can you upload such a NEF? Use yousendit.com if you don't have web space (and post the URL for downloading here).

  • Changing background and alignment when exporting to Flash

How can I get my slides to appear LEFT aligned with a WHITE background in a browser when I export from Keynote to Flash?

To get the white background, you'll need to have a white background on the Keynote file. To have a white background and the left align on the web page, you'll need to set the HTML tags correctly. This can be done with Dreamweaver or any other HTML editor. (Not sure you'd be able to do it in iWeb, that program is one that I haven't begun to try to understand)
If you want to try editing the HTML file that is created with the flash file, you can download Taco HTML edit and on the body line add bgcolor="#FFFFFF" then on the div line add align="left"

  • IPhoto changes slideshow when exported

I am having significant problems with iPhoto changing the slideshow when I export it to iDVD or even Quicktime. This is so frustrating! All I can attribute this to, is one of the updates. I have used this to do DVD's for weddings, graduations, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. with no problem, then somewhere along the line, it began changing the timing. All my hard work to synchronize the exact picture with the music - GONE!
Please help, as I have lots of these to do on a tight turnaround time. I adore my Mac & really need for this to work like it used to!
    Power Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    The audio syncing has been a problem with iPhoto 6 for a while now. There is a couple of ways you can do what you want;
1 - create the slideshow in iPhoto without music and share to iDVD.
2 - when the import into iDVD is complete, close iDVD without saving and look for your movie in the Movies folder. This produces the larger size movie than just exporting to Quicktime does.
3 - open the movie in iMovie and add your tracks. You have considerably more control in fade ins and outs, cutting out the dead time at the end of a track, etc.
4 - save the iMovie project.
5 - open iDVD, select your theme.
6 - drag the iMovie project file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones. This avoids additional encoding by iMovie so the only encoding done is by iDVD when you go to save as a disk image or burn directly to disk.
Are you using the KB effect in your slideshow? If not, you can get, IMO, better image quality slideshows by creating the show entirely in iDVD from the imported stills. By selecting the option to scale photos to the TV Safe Area you won't lose any of the picture to the TV overscan phenomenon that affects all QT files used in iDVD. This method also allows you to add titles/sub titles to selected slides or add a text slide as a title. The scale to audio in iDVD is very precise.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
