Image button without border !!!
Hi guys
I have created a button with an image. But, the border surrounding the button is disturbing. I have written the following code :
searchButton = new JButton ("", new ImageIcon ("c:/SEClientFiles/3sr03b.gif"));
searchButton.setMargin( new Insets(0, 0, 0, 0));
searchButton.setOpaque(false);
searchButton.setBounds(540, 60, 90, 40);
p.add(searchButton);
searchButton.addActionListener(this);I just want to remove the border and have a plain image as a button. Could anyone please help me out ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
kbhatia
use
searchButton.setBorderPainted(false);THANKS A LOT !!!

Adobe premiere elements 12 - how to create menu bar action for my inserted image button
adobe premiere elements 12 - how to create menu bar action for my inserted image button without using their movie menu theme
forbemag
I do not think that I am completely focused into this completely, so let us see if the following is going to help.
You are going to need a base for your button. When you mention "image" button, I am assuming that you are using that term to differentiate between a text button and a thumbnail type button.
The menus (main and scene) take their origin in .psd files on the hard drive and strict nomenclature and structure for Layers Palatte. And, the buttons on the menus trace back to the menu markers on the Timeline, main menu marker and order of placement of scene markers. The scene thumbnail will only appear when there is a scene marker on the Timeline to which it.
In view of all that
Where have you already inserted this "image (button)"...into the Layers Palette of a Photoshop document or other? Is this "image (button)" in a structured Layer Group in the Layers Palette with sublayer groups, text layers, graphic/background layer"?
Let me give you an example
If you have a button (with thumbnail) on the main menu and you want that to open to a specific scene in your movie, then you use a main menu marker on the Timeline at the spot that you want that button to target.
If I am getting closer to what you seek, then please further clarify the DVD navigational envisioned scheme.
Thanks.

"Save image" button of Camera Raw does not save JPEG with modifications made.
I am using Bridge CC to process my RAW images and make modifications to some JPEG images as well. I have no need to further alter images in Photoshop at the moment, so I do all modifications in Camera Raw. After altering my images, I then press the "save image" button at the left bottom corner of Camera Raw and choose the settings to save in JPEG. However, when I upload these JPEG images to a website or when I email them, the image is uploaded without the modifications I had done! It seems to me that Camera Raw is saving JPEGs the same way it does for RAW images, in a non-destructive manner, only attaching instructions for the images to be displayed properly on Photoshop. But when I save an image in JPEG, I expect the image to be saved entirely with the modifications I made while still keeping the original RAW file. What goes on then? What is Camera Raw doing and how do I get to save a modified image in JPEG with Camera Raw? Would you please explain?
Many thanks for your help,
BezaHi,
What version of camera raw and operating system are you using? -
Image Button. How to mark it on slide?
Hello!
I wonder how to mark, put attention on the Image Button?
I'm working on a project, where I use custom navigation pannel with Image Buttons. Some slides changes without navigation. And some slides paused till button pushed. I would like to pay attention on the image button, when user should push it.
Is there standart tool for it, or I should use hightlights maybe?
Thank you)You probably just want to use an effect, whichever one you like best. Select the button, then go to the "Window" menu, and select "Effects" to open the Effects panel. In the bottom left you'll see an "Add Effect" button, click that and experiment with your options.

Image Button file browser icon missing
Hi there, I've been using C5 this week for the 1st time and have been working through a project. All has gone ok to date, a few niggles along the way but I've run into a huge bug this morning which is wrecking my plan to finish the project.
I'm adding an image button to a slide and have found to my frustration that the file browser in Properties has vanished, pushed out past the properties block, which of course cannot be resized to the right (thanks Adobe, nice UI design there). This means I can't choose any image for my button apart from those already loaded in the preview which is utterly useless. I've attached a screenshot to show what it looks like.
As you can see the Image Button drop down has gone very wide and pushed the folder browser icon out of sight. Simply maddening!
I had been using image buttons all week with out any issues. Yesterday an update appeared (5.0.1.624) for C5 so I applied it. Then this issue started. I have since uninstalled C5 and reinstalled without applying the update and its still doing it. What I didn't do was reboot after the uninstall, maybe I should have done...
Anybody else come across this? if it is a bug its a crippling one!!!!Hi Niall-Mac and KiHwa -
This is indeed a CP bug!!! We found this some months ago - it turns out that if you name your button images with a very long file name (35-40 characters plus), it slowly starts pushing the "browse" folder icon further and further to the right of the panel. Add a few more buttons with longer file names to the gallery and eventually it disappears altogether, like you both have encountered (see image).
Workaround 1 (best practice IMO until CP dev team fixes this):
We started creating buttons in a separate CP file, creatively named "projectName_buttons" - this way any time we need a button we go to this file and copy/paste it into our project and we never have to mess with the button gallery in our working (source) file. If the "browse" icon disappears again in our buttons file, we simply copy all our buttons from our "project_buttons" file into a new blank project and save over the old (broken) one.
Workaround 2 (not so user-friendly):
1. Stretch your timeline panel as wide as it can go on your monitor (I use two 21" monitors to develop so I can make my timeline rather long)
2. Undock the properties panel so that it is a floating window
3. Drag the properties panel by the topmost dark gray bar just above the "Properties" tab and place it just below the timeline until it snaps into place - now don't let go of it just yet, drag it up a tiny bit further - as you do this a blue bar will appear signifying that it will dock to that position (underneath the timeline) - when you dock it to the timeline it will stretch to the same length as the timeline and voila, you can now see the "browse" icon - however, who wants a properties panel that takes up your whole monitor!!!! I certainly don't.....
On a side note, it is very disheartening that once buttons are in the button gallery you have NO CONTROL over them - if they need to be edited you are forced to rename them so you can import a fresh button. This method unnecessarily creates TWO copies of a button in your gallery - the more edits you make to a button the more copies of that button you get in your gallery....some control over the button gallery would be nice.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

Hi,
I'm working on a Captivate project that I haven't created myself and I'm trying to extract the images used for some buttons. Is there some way to do that? I can't see the images in the library, so where are they?
The reason for all this is because when I copy the buttons in another Captivate project it works fine, but a copy of the button from the new project (so basically a copy of the copy) doesn't... and that puzzles me greatly. It might sound silly to want to do that... long story short, I need to give the buttons made by some service provider to the other without sending them the whole file.
Any ideas? I'm using Captivate 5.5 by the way.Image buttons are stored in the Captivate install folder under Gallery > Buttons.
If the buttons you're referring to are not standard Captivate buttons but were custom made by the original developer then he/she may be the only one that has them on their system.
After you add these image buttons to a project they are stored internally and cannot be 'extracted' per se, though you can usually copy buttons from one project to another if you have them both open. As you've found, once you move beyond a certain point, the copy/pasted process seems to break down.
If you can get in touch with the original developer, they may be able to provide you with the original button images. That would be your best solution. -
I am new to java GUIs and trying to create an image that performes an action when you click on it. I'd prefer to make it as an object so i can send it an image, frame, and location(int,int,int,int) and add it to any Frame.
I don't want any border to show on the button, if that is ok.
Any ideas would be apreciated.This is who far as i've got, but i get a compile error, as detailed below, any ideas?

Program Name: ImageURLButtonBar
Author: Paul Whitelock
Version: 1.1
Copyright: (c) 1997 by Paul Whitelock and Modern Minds, Inc.
Requires: ImageURLButtonBar.class
ButtonBar.class
ButtonBarObserver.class (Interface definition)
ButtonRegion.class
ButtonAnimate.class
Modifications: v1.01 (15 April 97)
* Added "sticky" button behavior (controlled
by applet "stick" parameter)
v1.03 (25 June 97)
* Added applet parameter "useCodeBase". If useCodeBase
is true, then image file locations will be based on the directory
in which the Java class files are located. If useCodeBase is false, then
the locations will be based on the HTML directory. Note that audio
file locations are always based on the Java directory. The default
for useCodeBase is false (use HTML directory for base).
* The "stick" parameter will now accept a button number in
addition to the value of "true" or "false". If a button number
is specified, then that button will be "stuck" down
when the button bar initializes.
* Added the capability of loading multiple URLs for each button
with an optional target for each URL.
v1.1 (25 September 97)
* Added "baseBrighten" and "baseBrightenTint" parameters to control
highlighting for base button bar.
* Added "mouseOverBrighten" and "moBrightenTint" parameters to control
highlighting for base button bar.
* Added "mdBrightenTint" and "mdBrightenAll" parameters to control
highlighting for base button bar. Previous versions of the applet
supported "mouseDownBrighten," but only if button borders were not
drawn for the button-down button bar (the "mdBrightenAll" can be set
to "true" to override the this default behavior).
* An "appletBGColor" parameter has been added to set the
applet background color. The applet background color is
sometimes visible during scrolling or during a page repaint.

Accepting a mouse event within button's border
Ive created a custom round button, which is made of GIF images. The images have transparent background's created using Photoshop, so that they appear round. I was wondering if there is a way of accepting a mouse event, for example a click, from only within the actual button's border. It currently accepts mouse events from within the transparent background as well as the actual button's border. Any ideas?
I believe you have to override the contains(...) method of your component. The article for the Tech Tips Archive gives an example:

@media screen, projection
ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.MenuBarItemIE

Hp deskjet 1510 does not print photo without border.
I am using Hp deskjet 1510 printer and my operating system is windows 7 ultimate. when i tried to print photo with full pages of A4 size paper without border but it doesn't print without border. so i need assist to solve this issue.
thanks.Hello there! Welcome to the forums @horda ,
I read about how you are trying to borderless print on A4 size media and it's not working out so well. After checking the printer specifications (below), you can see that this model of printer does not support borderless printing.
I hope that helps clear up your concern!
Have a fantastic day

RE: [iPlanet-JATO] image button handling
Hi Todd,
from what I have seen so far on the Project they are just buttons on
the page.
In the interim, I modified RequestHandlingViewBase.acceptsRequest() to
handle the matching of parameter and command child names.
from
if (request.getParameter(commands)!=null)
return getCommandChildNames()[i];
to
if (request.getParameter(commands[i])!=null ||
(request.getParameter(commands[i]+ ".x")!=null ))
return getCommandChildNames()[i];
This fixed the problem with the image buttons in our cases.

Subject: Re: [iPlanet-JATO] image button handling
Hi Kostas--
I wanted to get some feedback on the known issue of the
handleXXXXRequest method not being fired for buttons which have
images, due to the the browser submitting
the pixel coordinates back to the server like this:
Page1.ImageButton1.x=...
Page1.ImageButton1.y=...
As the ND conversion project we are currently working on heavily uses
image buttons we would like to get and indication if and when a patch
is planned for this.
Our current work around is to remove the src attribute from the JATO
tags in the JSPs.We are currently working on getting this fixed. One question--what is
the
relative type of usage of image buttons in your project? Are they just
buttons on the page (view bean), or do they appear in tiled views as
well?

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]OK, here's what I'm trying to do: We have, like you said, a menu
page. The pages that it goes to and the number of links are all
variable and read from the database. In NetD we were able to create
URLs in the form
pgXYZ?SPIDERSESSION=abcd
so this is what I'm trying to replicate here. So the URL that works
is
pgContactUs?GXHC_GX_jst=fc7b7e61662d6164&GXHC_gx_session_id_=cc9c6dfa5
601afa7
which I interpreted to be the equivalent of the old Netd way. Our
javascript also loads other frames of the page in the same manner.
And I believe the URL-rewritten frame sources of a frameset look like
this too.
This all worked except for the timeout problem. In theory we could
rewrite all URLs to go to a handler, but that would be...
inconvenient. -
How do I get a "transfer images" button to show up in the solution center?
How do I get a "transfer images" button to show up in the solution center for my officejet 6500 709a on XP?
Scan buttons are displayed and work, as does print.What installing the twain plug-in, you mean? Go to your applications folder. Find the Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 folder. Look in there for a folder called support files, then for a folder called optional plugins. In the Optional Plugins folder, there should be a folder called ImportModules. Just drag that from the Optional Plugins folder to the regular Plugins folder.
This will be infinitely easier to do if you put your applications folder window into list view, not the default icon view. To do that, click this button at the top of the window: -
Using Bridge to Camera Raw to Open Image button also drop shadow problems
I remember when I was working with RAW in PSE 8. I would be in Bridge looking at a pic and double click on it. PSE 8 would open in Camera RAW and I could play with the pic a bit, make some adjustments, then click on OPEN IMAGE. When I did that it would open in PSE and it would be in jpg format. With this PSE 9 and the updated Camera RAW 6.3, when I punch OPEN IMAGE I still have a picture labeled .CR2 which I think still means RAW. When I double click in Bridge the .CR2 pic shows as 8 bit depth. I can do a little more work on it and use SAVE AS. When I do that, the sample file name that shows is still in .CR2 format and I must change that to .jpg and then below change from PHOTOSHOP to JPEG to save my file as a jpg file. Is there something that I have to change in preferences to get it to open the image in jpg format when I hit the OPEN IMAGE button? Or, is this an "improvement" with RAW 6.3? Also, I seem to be having trouble adding a drop shadow (or any other effects) on jpeg pics. At least it doesn't show up on the screen after I apply it. I just recently updated to Camera RAW 6.3 and updated my Operating system on my iMac computer to OS 10.6.6. I emailed this request to my good friend with an identical setup on his iMac and he is having the same response when performing the above operations. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Okay, previously you seem to have been using the bridge version of camera raw to edit your raw photos. That has many more options than the PSE version of the raw converter. (If you still have PSE 8, you can see the difference by using File>Open in the editor to open a raw photo for the PSE version of ACR, which works the same way in PSE 9.) In PSE's raw converter, you use the Open button, then save your photo in an image format in the editor. The Save button in ACR in PSE is only the DNG converter.
Layer styles should work exactly the same way as in PSE 8. However, in any version of PSE a drop shadow, like a real shadow, needs someplace to fall, so unless there is empty space on the layer, it won't appear. Try creating text or drawing and simplifying a shape and adding a drop shadow. Does it appear then?
Also remember that Jpegs won't let you save either layers or transparency when you resave the file.
