Image Capture scans the whole bed?

How can I set Image Capture to scan only the document?
It scans the whole scanning bed and is adjusting my printed page so that it shrinks the image terribly. I make doll patterns so this is important to me to scan close to the size I draw. We can do it on my husband's windows laptop *shudder* but not my brand new Apple computer.
This is the least user-friendly system I've used since I bought my first Apple computer in 1993.

Cannot healp with a Robot, but Selenium is made to run automated test on web application by launching IE or Firefox and interacting with it. All tests are made possible by writing a JUnit Test (an extened version from Selenium).
Selenium (http://www.openqa.org/selenium/) allow you to take a snapshot of the page being currently tested : you can keep a trace of nightly run tests on a server. Note you can test whatever you want, either your own pages or Google or whatever.com.

Epson Perfection 1200 scanner continues to function as a flatbed scanner but when I try to scan transparencies/film negs the control panels change in Image Capture but the scanner bar will not complete the overview scan & cannot travel beyond the first 2/3 centimeters. All the communications seem to recognise the scanner and the mode for the intended scan but the necessary overview scan is not completed, nothing comes up on the Image Capture scan window. If I unplug the film adaptor I can get a document scan. When I plug in the adaptor again the Image Capture details change which allows me to select the type of scan required but when the scanner attempts an overview scan it is unable to complete it.
I have had the scanner from new (12 Years) and have previously scanned slides and film with the adaptor but maybe this was before I upgraded my computer (imac 27").
Do I have to buy a new scanner? It seems so close to working correctly.
I have downloaded the Epson recommended driver (5.4) and have Epson Perfection 1200 6.6 Universal showing in the Applications List.
Any thoughts or observations would be much appreciated before I go out and spend money an new hardware.

Automate image capture scanning

Is there a way to assign keyboard short cuts to the 'preview' and 'scanning' buttons in the Image Capture Scanning Interface?

(I don't see a preview button- I assume you mean the "overview" button).
There is probably a way to write an applescript to do this. Or you could create a service in Automator (using the record feature), and then assign a keyboard shortcut to the automator service.
Or you can use Quickeys Startly - QuicKeys 4 for Mac OS X
I've always found automator to be somewhat unreliable for this kind of thing, but I just created the service and the keyboard shortcut in a few minutes of playing around, and it seems to work. Quickeys has been more reliable for me.

How to stop get-eventlog command if it finds a hit in the date range... w/o scanning the whole thing first :-/

I have a nice little PowerShell function that is scrubbing the eventlog for a 'positive' hit under a certain error code for each user in a defined window.
basically we are looking to see if they are still logging into OCS...
Since it takes what seems like an eternity to scan the whole security log per the 'get-eventlog' statement and then evaluate it it is $true or not... i would like it to break out as soon as it finds one hit without going all the way back x days unless it
has to.
have been trying to use this for testing... with no avail

I'm not sure i'm understanding this correctly but i'm assuming you only care if one shows up in there at all. If so this might speed things up depending on where in the log the first entry is.

Yu are trying to impoort photos taken by or saved to the iPod, right? If the photos were synced to the iPod then iPhot does not work.

Background image to fill the whole screen

Please assist,
1st question : I want to add the background image that fit the whole screen. I have tried to put image background however it leaves white spaces on the edges and another thing is that after adding the background image when I add content in the tables the background image start to repeat.

#1 Background images are static. They don't resize to fill the browser viewport without a lot of additional tricks which may or may not work in all browsers. Moreover images that resize quickly become distorted. For best all around results, build your page to a fixed-width target audience (990px is usually fine for most users). Use a seamless background tile or gradient slice and repeat it vertically (repeat-y), horizontally (repeat-x) or both ways (repeat).

Image capture scan

When I try and scan a brochure it captures each image separately...not the whole page?

Note that in Image Capture the option for Auto selection is only available if "Custom Size" is checked.

Help! Image Capture scanning detected images solid black! Screen cap inside.

I know this is not a forum for Image Capture, but there is no dedicated forum for it, and I figure there are smarter people here with regards to images.
Image Capture is scanning ~some~ detected images solid black. It presents an overview scan just fine, but than the final files are black.
Here is a screen capture:

iPhoto earlier than iPhoto 9 (11) does not support Grayscale because it adds a color profile name Dot Gain 20%. This profile is not compatible with iPhoto. You can either rescan those photos as color photos or change the profile to sRGB or RGB.
I've created an Automator workflow application, Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB profile, that will convert B/W files to a jpg file with the sRGB profile. However, is doing so it adds an additional jpeg compression level to the file resulting is a smaller file size but not a smaller image size. You can download it from Toad's Cellar.
The conversion will have to be done on the photos outside of iPhoto before they are imported. So you will have to export the original files to a folder on the Desktop, run the application on them and then reimport the new files.

Image Capture scans to Pictures folder

I'm using CanoScan LiDE 200, with Image Capture, with scans going to iPhoto.
But the scans are also saved in Pictures folder.
How to stop the scans go to Pictures folder ?

correction to my post above:
.....the location to which IC scanning is iPhoto. That's no problem, it's checkmarked.
What happens is that both, the 'Pictures' folder small window opens when scanning, and you can see how a tiny thumbnail is being added there, and iPhoto opens.
It's not the "Pictures" folder that opens(in addition to iPhoto, which is checkmarked), but a small window that says: "Scan Results".
On the bottom a button "clear". Pressing "clear", removes the thumbnails from "scan results", but they're still in "Pictures" folder.

How to print from Image Capture Scan Overview

Image Capture 2.1.4, on Powerbook G4, with Mac OS 10.3.9, can take an Overview, low-resolution prescan from my scanner. I could then choose to print the prescanned image.
This allowed for a fairly convenient copy facility, but with preview before printing.
No image save was necessary or desired.
With Image Capture 4.0, on Macbook Pro, with Mac OS 10.5.5, print of the prescanned image includes the entire Image Capture panel (Scan mode, bit depth, resolution, format, etc.)
Why do I want to print all that?
Is there a way with Leopard to set Image Capture to print just the scanner image without the panel and without image save?

How do i get my image to fill the whole page in pages

I am making an epub book and would like the image on my cover page to fill the whol page without the large white borders around it. How can I do that in pages. I know you can't export a document as an epub if it has floating objects in it but i don;t know if thats a problem for this application or not. Thanks

Menu > File > Page Setup > create a custom paper size of 9" x 13.5" > set all margins to 0 > Format > Any Printer > OK
Create your custom cover as a jpeg and crop to 9" x 13.5" or proportional pixel equivalent.
Import your cover onto the first page of your ebook.
Inspector > Wrap > Object Placement > Inline...
Stretch cover image to fill the page.
Menu > File > Export > ePub > Use first page as book cover image
Haven't tried this myself, but this is what is recommended.

I have a MacBook Pro and when I want to save an image it saves the whole page. What can I do?

On my MacBook Pro whenever I select an image to save or copy, it selects the whole page. Also does a similar thing on iTunes: whever I select an album cover it gives the whole listing.

Load image, but NOT the whole page

I have a simple html web page that I want to display a
selection of images. I want to be able to have the images load when
the next or previous buttons are clicked, but I don't want the
whole page to reload. I know that I can do this with various
server-side languages, but as this is a static website I didn't
know if was possible to do it with javascript.

You HAVE to use javascript, as you don't want the page to
reload.
Personally, I don't like photogalleries that do this, as I
can't link
directly to a specific image.

How can I install iTunes and only scan locations on PC without scanning the whole PC?

New to iTunes... Want to install but want to control where is scans for media.

iTunes will only scan teh very first time it is installed on a computer.
After you install it, select No when it asks to scan.
Then iTunes menu File > Add folder to library and select what you want.

I can't download photos from my canon 350d to my apple mac - even using i-photo (what's image capture). The card doesn't fit in the computer and I don't ave a card reader. Is there a simple solution?

Can anyone help? I'm trying to get the pictures off my canon 350d onto my i-mac (I've tried through i-photo).

Option 1: Download Canon's software. Attach the camera to the computer (USB A to mini B) and the software will ask where to download your photos.
Option 2: Buy a CF card reader. I recently purchased a PIXELFLASH card reader for $16US.
