Image capture will not recognise my iPhone?
Image Capture on my iMac with Snow Leopard, does not recognise my iPhone when I attach it. I have tried the same phone with a MacBook Pro without a problem. The Image Capture software is the same version on both computers. Can anyone help?

Image Capture will not recognize my Epson Workforce 615
Image Capture will not recognize my Epson Workforce 615. It would not recognize my HP 4280 either.
I can print but I cannot scan using Image Capture. Scanning through Epson scan or HPScan Pro works.
What am I doing wrong? I have searched all over the net for an answer and there does not seem to be a solution. Only other people searching for the same answer.
And no I do not want to use VueScan.

IPhoto and Image Capture does not see the iPhone as a camera
Whether I launch iPhoto or Image Capture, in both cases the iPhone is not recognized as a camera. I am running firmware 1.1.1. I am afraid up upgrade to 1.1.3 because I do not want to lose my pictures. This was working at one point, but now it is not. I have no problems syncing music and video content within iTunes. I recently used migration assistant to move my home folder to my new Mac Pro running leopard. I am not sure if this is when it stopped working. I also tried using the Tiger machine at work, but the same thing happens there as well in both apps. Is there anything anyone can suggest?
This helped me. It is advice I found from a user named Carlosmara. First make sure iPhoto is closed and your iPhone is not connected. Then, as Carlosmara stated in his post,
"Go to your Library/preferences and delete the file com.apple.iPhoto.plist
IPhoto should recognized the iPhone again."
The file in question is under your user folder.
I then restarted my mac and plugged in the iPhone so that it would sync. After the sync, when I opened iPhoto, my iPhone was recognized and I could download the photos perfectly.

SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.

How do I get my updated iTunes to recognise my iPhone as it did before?
I spent last week looking for a solution to that little yellow "!" needle haystack....
It is probably buried where nothing can touch or change it other than what I resorted to and would have saved time, clean install after I made sure to have two backup sets: Windows Easy Transfer plus Paragon clone OS and partitions to drive. Had to spend a full day reinstalling, updates, etc. Careful not to bring back any prefs or data that might be corrupt or wrong.
10.5 and iOS 5 on new iPod 4G works much better though and as they should and no issues like I had with AMS or other services or needing to restart first before launching iTunes. -
Window Vista will not recognised my Iphone any fixes?
Upon updating my Itune to 9.1.1 my Iphone will not be recognized any longer and a tool bar pop up message comes up. _*“USB device not compatible…”*_ I’ve removed Itune and reinstalled it and still not fixed. Go to Apple's iTunes page and re-download iTunes. Once installed, the build number should be iTunes 9.1.1 (12), and the syncing bug should go away. This new build isn't being pushed out to people who downloaded iTunes 9.1.1 (11), so it won't show up in Software Update; you'll have to go get it manually.

SO frustrated I cannot charge my iphone 4S with the new IOS7 software and I cannot download anything but I can listen to my music on the computer from playlist. HELP so aggrevated. I even rebooted several times and tried system restore but nothing and still getting errors

Can't import photos from iPhone to iPhoto. Image Capture does not launch when iPhone is connected to my iMac and iPhoto is open. There is no "Preferences" option offered to click when in Image Capture.

Thanks.I am having the identical error. I have an iPhone 4 and 2 macs, the phone is managed from an old G5 PowerMac and images are saved from it to Aperture for photos and videos go to iPhoto 11. The Mac is running 10.5.8. I last appear to have downloaded movies from iPhone4 to mac in December , the oldest video being 10 Dec 2010.
This week I was going to back up a handful of images on the phone but after connecting it to the mac, something that happens several times a week to sync to itunes for app updates etc I found it did not list for import options in iPhoto nor in Aperture. I looked at Image Capture and that tells me no device is connected.
I have no problems taking images off the phone using a MBP which has 10.6 and Image Capture recognises the phone.
I have tried the following after reading through all the discussions on the topic of which there appear to be many with this problem.
Restore the iphone then update settings from archive. - did nothing
Closed apps reconnected iPhone started apps... - did nothing
Switched phone off then on then connected to mac then opened apps - nothing
This Mac seems happy to communicate t othe phone though iTunes but appears to have lost the way when it comes to getting images off the iPhone. Any help keenly appreciated.

When I plug in my iPhone to my MacBook… my pictures do not load like usual.
(Same thing when I put in a photo card)
Sometimes the device will appear; but import is not an option to select.
EVEN if I change the parameters down on the bottom left to Image Capture, iPhoto, etc.
Usually, my phone will appear on the left hand side and I am able to click Import.
However; this time NOTHING happens.
Can someone please help?
All the directions I have read through (dozens!) for the last 5 hours do not give the step on what to do IF the Image Capture does not work.
Same thing in iPhoto. Nothing. Nada.
I have plugged and replugged.
Tried different cords.

It sounds like there is an issue importing photos with multiple devices and applications on your Mac. The article linked below provides a lot of great tips that may resolve the issue, like taking a screenshot to ensure there is a new photo to be imported since the previous import.

I agree that it should not really run slow however I would really like to upgrade to Lion anyway and thought that doing it via the SSD route would be good way to do it as the SSD should help speed things up once I sort out the underlying issue at present. I also wanted to try and load lion but still have Snow Leopard available on the original drive for the time being till I knew that eveything was working well using Lion but I'm not sure if this is possible and how to do to this.
I have just clicked on 'Verify disk' on HD1 in the utility menu and there is a problem there. It is asking for me to start using another disk such as the mac installation disc but I am not sure where I have put this. Seeing as I have upgraded to SL would this now be the new installation disc and if so, do I just put the disc in the machine and restart?

shop CS4That camera was recently supported for the first time by ACR 8.6, which needs at least CS6 to run. You will never be able to open those raw NEF files in CS4, as there will never be an update for CS4.
Your choices are to upgrade, or to use the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 8.6 on each and every batch of raw NEF files in order to convert them to raw DNGs that you can open in CS4.
