Image dimension limitations in Photoshop Elements?

I'm trying to find out what the maximum image dimensions are for Photoshop Elements 8.0
I know Photoshop CS increased the previous limit of 30,000x30,000 to 300,000x300,000.
According to this page, PSE 5 and 6 were limited to 30k:

I'd like to upgrade from Elements v4 to v8, but one thing I need to ensure is that it can handle >30000px images, otherwise I'll have to go for CS5...
Can anyone give me a definitive answer, please?

When you installed the plugin(s), the installer should have created a folder in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Image Trends Inc\Hemi 1.0
Go to the Hemi 1.0 folder and copy the three plugins that don't say x64 and paste them into the pse 11 editor plugins folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Plug-Ins

I'm going to assume that you have reinstalled PSE9 but now want to get your catalog back. If you created your backup using the inbuilt PSE File> Backup Catalog feature, then in the newly installed version you would run File> Restore Catalog.
If you used a third party backup tool, or just copied the image files elsewhere then a lot will depend on whether or not you also backed up, or can still access, the catalog files. Give some more detail about this 'backup CD'.

How do I save a downloaded webpage as a jpeq image to manipulate in photoshop elements

I would like to save a downloaded webpage (html file) as a jpeg so that I can edit it in photoshop elements.   How do I do that?

I’m still at a loss.   I loaded it in my browser and pressed Print Scrn, but not sure what to do next.   I opened up Photoshop Elements and pressed CtrlV but nothing seems to happen; no image appears on the screen or in the the photo bin---so there is no image to edit.   Maybe I’m not sure what you mean by PSE editor .   Do you mean by PSE editor, just the main screen in ‘Expert Mode,’ which is what I generally use?   In other words, do you just put the curser to the screen and press CtrlV.
Could you clarify?   Am I missing some crucial point in your instruction?

Black images in iPhoto from Photoshop Elements

After editing an image in Photoshop Elements 6, and saving it as a jpeg, when it is imported into iPhoto (08), both the thumbnails and the image itself are black. That is, there is no image. What am I doing wrong?

You can use the Grayscale mode as long as there is no profile, Dot Gain 20%, embedded. If you save as grayscale in PSE elect not to use that profile, leave it empty.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Viewing an iphoto image 'saved as' using photoshop element

How do i get iPhoto to display an image that was changed in Photoshop Elements and 'saved as' back into the original iPhoto library folder?
The Finder displays the original and changed image files listed in the iPhoto Library folder. However, the iPhoto application will not display the image.

Using Photoshop Elements, I changed the original image and saved it with a new name. Both the original and the changed image show a .jpg file exension in the iPhoto folder.
The iPhoto application does not display the new image. It just seems not to exist unless you use Finder.

Installing Image Trends plugin in Photoshop Elements 11

I have installed in my computer Fish Eye Hemi, from Image Trends, a plugin to defish fisheye photographs.... I cannot get it to show as a Photoshop Elements 11 Plugin.... What do I need to do? Thank you so much for your help.

Paleolithic question : I went from Photoshop Elements 1 to 12 !

I went from Photoshop Elements 1 with a MacOS 9 Imac to Photoshop Elements 12 with a Macbook under Maveriks.
Some images made with Photoshop Elements 1 does not open in Photoshop Elements 12. images taken one month apart there several years may or may not open.
In "Get Info" from the Macbook, the system nevertheless recognizes these images as type "Adobe Photoshop Elements file".
But in the "More info" Macbook, those which open in Photoshop Elements 12 displayed: Dimensions: 591x886 / Space color: RGB / Alpha Channel: No / Opening: yesterday.
Those that do not open with Photoshop Elements 12 displayed nothing (only the opening time).
How to open these photos which are nevertheless in .psd format ?

On the external drive Aluslim (where I kept the photos of trasfert) I

Not opening in photoshop elements 12

I have an Aperture Library 3.5.1 and am trying to open an image to edit in Photoshop Elements [Editor] 12 -- when I click on the picture using Control and select that choice, it says it's preparing it to go to PSE and be editted = but nothing opens in PSE. I have tried several times and quit everything, repaired permissions and restarted the computer. Same thing.

One question tho = I can get the plists out of the library but there are other things which seem to be prefs -
If you upgrade to Mavericks, it is very important to delete all existing PSE, Organizer, and Bridge (for PSE 6 and 8) preferences. To do this, you need to go to your username->Library->Preferences and delete everything relevant there.
Adobe PS Elements 12 Paths, Settings etc...are those plists to remove or leave them there???
[I now see the picture and those are included...I am so worried about missing something = I think it'll work.

Can't select albums with photoshop elements 10 with iTunes 10.6

I first upgraded Itunesvto 10.6 and the downloaded the trial version of adobe photoshop elements 10, never had any previous photoshop versions. When I go into iTunes and go under the sync photos tab and select the photoshop elements for "sync from" I can't select albums, only all photos. I have only two "smart" albums in elements, but I figured they should be seen.
I tried a solution from another forum, but it did not work. It was:
1. Open catalogue in elements
2. Rename catalogue
3. Optimize renamed catalogue
4. Restart iTunes
This did not work.
I'd like to avoid manually updating the folders as I really only want to have the previous 3 or 6 months worth of photos on my iPad

I solved the mystery. It had to do with the file metadata in the Photoshop Elements catalog. When I moved the catalog (pictures) from my old machine to the new machine, the path (folder location) of the images changed. So, although the catalog had cached thumbnails of the photos to display in Photoshop Elements (which tricked me into thinking that the path to the images was correct), the paths were actually wrong. All I had to do was “reconnect” the missing images (a feature in Photoshop Elements which corrects missing/wrong paths to images) and now everything works correctly (sync in iTunes).

Using lightroom 5.6 and Photoshop elements 12

When I am using Lightroom 5.6 and want to Edit In Photoshop the picture transfers over to PS but it won't allow me to use layers. How can I fix this?

Usually that means that lightroom sent over the photo in 16 bits/channel and you want 8 bits/channel in order to use layers in photoshop elements.
After you open the image from lightroom into photoshop elements you can go Image>Mode and click on 8 bits/channel
or in the Lightroom Preferences (Edit)>External Editing set the Bit Depth to 8 bits/component

Photoshop elements 11 albums won't sync

Photoshop Elements 11 albums won't sync with ipad using iTunes.
I was using PE10 and synced my albums using iTunes to my iPad 3 iOS 6.0 and 5.1 just fine. (itunes 10.7.0.21) I upgraded to PE11 and it goes into perpetual sync when albums are selected. I deleted some albums and added test albums in PE11 and those changes are not reflected in iTunes.
I worked with Apple Care for about 2 hours uninstalling all of the Apple software (iTunes, etc) and reinstalling. That did not fix it. Apple declared it an Adobe problem and suggested I call them.
I worked with Adobe about 45 minutes before they declared it an iTunes problem.
Any ideas out there?

Can't sync photos with photoshop elements 11 album

I just upgraded to photoshop elements 11. When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
Any thoughts?
Oh, and if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 Selects Wrong Printer

My Platform:
HP Pavilion HPE-137c(2.50 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad)
Windows 7 Home Premium 7(64bit build 7600)
8gb RAM
1tb Hard Drive
HP Officejet 6500 e709a
My Problem:
I select the following printer(Image 1), but Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 always tries to use the printer named HP Officejet 6500 E709a - Send Fax(Image 2), which isn't even installed on my system(Image 3)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled print drivers and Adobe Photshop Elements to no avail. All other software prints OK.

Doubtful that I can add much, but here is what finally worked for me:
I deleted (removed) the Fax version of my printer (which I never use) leaving only this version:
I can still use the fax from other PCs and from the printer itself ...just not from the one PC that had the issue.

This thread also suggests renaming the Fax version of the printer may work as well as deleting it. Both ideas (deleting or renaming) apparantly worked for many who had this complaint but not everyone.

Importing Photos From Photoshop Album To Photoshop Elements 9

I recently transfered about 14,000 photos from Adobe Photoshop Album into a new computer with Photoshop Elements 9 installed. In Photoshop Album, I often edited my photos and saved the originals. However, only the edited version appeared on the organizer screen. With Photoshop Elements installed, a thumbnail appeared for each Album-edited photo on the organizer screen as a version set with tags and photo description in place but no image. In most cases clicking on the black right-pointed arrow brings up another imageless box (to the right of the previous thumbnail) that is identical to the first one, tags and all. In a few other cases, the edited image appears to the right with tags. The latter isn't too bad since I can delete the original imageless thumbnail from the organizer.
I have tried importing a couple of files of photos from the new hard drive into the organizer. I get the original which is tagged and the edited photos untagged. I want to be able to bring up my edited photos when I use certain keyword tags rather than the originals so don't have to hunt for them in the organizer. At the same time, I want to avoid having to retag several thousand edited photos. Can anyone help. Thanks for reading this message.

Hi Fred,
I don't recommend using this software for anything other than
cataloging. If you want to move your images you should consider
Photoshop Elements because it is meant to perform this activity. PSA SE
is just a little cataloging applet that would get really confused if you
even tried it. You would have to completely redo your catalog.

Photoshop Elements 12 and Lightroom 5.6

Does any one know if it is possible to import star ratings from Photoshop Elements Organizer into Lightroom? I did some rating of images in Photoshop Elements Organizer then imported the images into my Lightroom 5.6 catalog. Unfortunately, the star rating didn't import. The keywords imported. I don't understand why the keywords imported but the star ratings didn't. Do I need to import the Organizer catalog into Lightroom to get the star ratings?
