Image / flash shifts in html using cs4 in firefox.

Take a look at http://averillassociates.com/thankyou.html in firefox. I did this using CS4. The other pages were done in CS2 or 3. It did not make the FLASH "Thankyou" Shift.
What do i need to do to fix this problem.

Uhh, it's probably something with this section here:

A lot of the other elements are 193, not 183. The entire site (and it's equally horrible source code) is such a mess though that you'd probably be better off from a marketing perspective telling them you don't have a website.

Help? It's incredibly distracting to try and select parts of an image when the images are acting like strobe lights. This happens not only with the lasso but also when I am resizing an image. It is soley the images that flash black - the rest of the program is unaffected.
The background also changes from gray/white squares to grey to black when I zoom in or out.

I've tried the usual remedies - Images or Animations do not show, Favicon permissions - I'm stumped!
The image files don't show when I click the favicon (to the left of the URL), then More Information, then Media - other sites show many image files. The Essay1.htm file was created as a doc in Word 10 then published to an htm file - there's an associated Essay1-files folder which contains the image files in the order used. Is Firefox expecting to find this info in the htm file somehow? How do I tell Firefox where to look?

That is still an MS Office document and Firefox can't display such a file like IE can.

You need to use a W3C compliant HTML editor to create your website and embed the images via <nowiki><img></nowiki> tags.
If you do not have such an editor then look at KompoZer.

Image not displayed in html output used webservice to store in a location

we have used webservices to store the pdf and html outputs but the problem is when we are seeing the preview in the bi publisher we can see the image in pdf and html but when we run through webservices and see the output files that are stored in some location image in the html output is not displayed but in the pdf we can see the image.
i have used the direct insertion image option in the header section. is the problem because i have used the direct insertion.
can you give the idea how to import logo from an external location so that we can check the if it is problem with direct insertion or problem with the webservice as we are storing the output files outside the catlog but it may not be wrong because in pdf we can see the image.
I am not having any idea how to solve thsi issue..

Please state which BI Publisher version you are using.
In case it is 10g then please always test the application with the latest patch first!.
BTW today there is been a new patch 11846804 released for 10.1.3.4.1 (March 2011).

I've seen the opposite issue. My wife recieved an email with jpg attachments. She couldn't see or print them on her iPhone 4S but they showed up fine in iCloud or in the mail app. I had her forward the email to herself and then they showed up. I assume there is an issue with how Apple is processing the attachments and resending causes them to get reformatted in a way that makes them easier to handle.
So yeah. Seems like some bugs. Hope Apple fixes them soon.

Flash will not install from CS4 Web Premium on XP

I installed CS4 Web Premium a while back and, since I do not do a lot of Flash development, I didn't realize right off that Flash CS4 did not install. However, I just tried to go back and install it from the DVD and it shows in the list but the box in front of it is uncheckable. The heading at the top says to check the boxes to install or reinstall the applications. Other programs such as Dreamweaver, Contribute, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. can be checked but the box in front of Flash (and Soundbooth, etc.) are unresponsive. I do still have CS3 Web Premium on this machine which has Flash CS3 Professional and Flash CS3 Video Encoder as well as also still having Studio 8 and CS 2 with Flash 8 and Flash 8 Video encoder and InDesign CS2 & CS3, Visual Communicator, VlogIt, etc.. Do I need to remove any of those first? This machine is about 3 years old (Dell Optiplex GX620) running Win XP. I'm about to upgrade to a new machine in about a month that will be running Windows 7. So I will be doing a clean install of CS4 Web Premium then. But it would be nice to fix this so I can work on some Flash files before then. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I'm assuming you are using the Manual Install. Did you already Uninstall any current Flash Player version?
If not, download and SAVE to your Desktop the Uninstaller:

Use the EXE Installer for Windows and Internet Explorer. Use the EXE Installer for the plugin based browsers
Then use the Administrator Account and CLOSE all browser Windows. Disable any instant messenger service from the system tray.
Run the Uninstaller and reboot(restart) your computer.
Then Run the Installer and reboot.
That message appears because the IE browser window is open.

I have used Photoshop CS4. I have created both CS4 & CS5 Extensions Panel using from Adobe Confirator I & II .
In Photoshop CS5 Extensions Panel HTML widget shows Image & Text in HTML window.
Hence In Photoshop CS4 Extensions Panel HTML widget doesn't shows image in HTML window only shows Text fields.
Is this possible to show image in HTML Widget CS4....?

When create extensions for CS4 Photoshop, you have to use "Configurator 1.0".
Its not include HTML widget, So you can't use it for CS4 Extensions.

Flash Video Playback problem in CS4/CS5

I need to put a Flash Video on my website, embedded in one of the existing html pages.
When my developer puts together a Flash Video in Flash CS4 or CS5 using ActionScript 3, the video does not play - t just keeps buffering (showing a striped appearance on the seek bar) and will not play unless I refresh the browser.
I've tried copying the code from the html page that came with the set of swf and flv files and that doesn't work either.
Just inserting the swf file into the web page like we used to do in CS3 and earlier does not wor.
I noticed that now with ActionScript 3 there is no ACRunActiveContent.js file.
Videos created using CS3 and ActionScript 2 seem to work just fine on web pages.
Wonder what i can do to use CS4 and CS5 videos and have them play on html pages?
Any ideas anyone?

Just to clarify:
Creating a Flash Video swf in CS5 (or even CS4) with ActionScript 3 requires the video to be embedded in the web page a bit differently than we were used to with CS3 and AS2.
While the newer versions of Flash do use a different method (using swfobject) when "Publishing" a Flash .swf, it is NOT required to do so. In fact neither swfobject nor ACRun... are required to display Flash of any version (AS1, 2, or 3) on a Web page. The simple single object method will work just fine:

what im doing here is adding an event listener from my
embedded swf (4 parents deep).
then setting a var(myFlex:Object) to the
movieclip.parent.parent.parent which would be the flex movieclip
then actually grabbing that var "prog" to figure out what

works for me. i have used the external interface class and local
connection class but this works pretty well for me. im currently
using the external interface with the yahoo maps api and it works
really well but im having trouble using more than one external

Keeping images from shifting?

Okay, it's been a while since I used DW, but for the life of
me, I have been pounding my skull against this desk trying to
figure out why my images all shift once I preview things in a
browser. It doesn't matter if they are in a table or not, but
as soon as I preview them in the browswer, the jpegs (in
table or not), shift when I maximize the window (or not).
Also, does anyone know how I can more specifically place my
tables where I want them by using maybe the arrow
keys or other? There is only so much variety to how I can
place my tables or images. Maybe a newer version of DW
is different, but I'm at a loss.
Please help?

If you have pixel precision with table positioning or div
positioning you
will need to learn css.
Sounds like you are working in layout mode - get out of there
and never
return :-)

How to display URL images and URL link (html) from Smartforms?

1- put your images in a directory under the web app directory. Example: app/images/
2- in your jsp, use: String file = application.getRealPath("/images/"); to get the images directory. See http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.3/techdocs/api/javax/servlet/ServletContext.html#getRealPath(java.lang.String)

Adobe Flash crashes every time I use it in Firefox

I am tired of Adobe Flash constantly crashing on me using the latest versions of Firefox and Flash. I have tried updating both Firefox and Flash to the latest versions. I have tried disabling hardware acceleration. I have uninstalled Realplayer. NONE OF THESE RECOMMENDED SOLUTIONS have helped. This is making Firefox unusable for me. I am having to use Chrome now. How to show a MPEG4/H.264 video in Flash in an HTML page?

Maybe my title isn't clear. I am hoping someone can shed some
light on the h264 use in flash.
Instead of displaying a progressive download .FLV video , I

I read several articles on h264 and flash 9, including this
adobe
H264 article but was hoping there might be an easier and maybe
quicker solution. I did try renaming the .mp4 extension to .flv in
dreamweaver but it did not display the video. (...unless it was
downloading the video completely before displaying...not sure)
There is a ton of sites, blogs and articles on h.264 and how
flash 9 will display it...but when it comes to how one might
actually have h.264 in flash on their own site...I am finding it
difficult to figure out.
Forgive my lack of action script and Flash knowledge...any
direction is appreciated.

...well I did follow that article on playing an h264/mpeg4
video in flash. It works well, but how would you add playback
controls?
FLVPlayback component only allows you to source an FLV video
not h264/mpeg4.
This is probably a simple as3 answer...but I am not
knowledgeable on as3 to know what code to add.
Any suggests or direction that I should look would be great.
In the meantime I am researching actionscript 3 to find and anwer.

Tips for Changing Flash Website to HTML / Dreamweaver

I am going to be taking over the management of a website that was designed entirely in Flash. There really is no need for the entire website to be entirely in Flash - it is confusing to navigate and most of the content would be so much easier to update and maintain if it were saved in html. I want to keep two flash effects - one is the splash page and the other is gallery where a grid of photos flips up like cards and you can click the individual photos for a link to a specifications page.
So, my question. Is there an easy way to transition the site from flash only into html / dreamweaver? I think I already know the answer to this - "NO" - I'm going to have to redesign the site in dreamweaver and just insert the two flash elements I want to keep, but if anybody has any tips or tricks that would be FANTASTIC! Thanks.

The problem with FLASH sites is that they speak a different language - Action Script instead of HTML. While some Flashy effects can be emulated with DHTML (JavaScript, JQuery etc...) it's not always possible to achieve the exact same feel without FLASH. Everything depends on how Flash-centric the original site is and how much your client/boss is willing to toss out in favor of a more web accessible, search engine / user friendly / standards compliant website.
Incidentally, SPLASH pages are a complete waste of prime URL real estate. You don't want a Flash or image only SPLASH intro page on your ALL IMPORTANT domain name default page. If anything, you need to rebuild home page in HTML with plenty of keyword rich content for search engines and people to grab onto.
For more meaningful suggestions, please post a URL to the live site? It will be interesting to see how it ranks on Google and other SEs.

Canon EOS 5D Mark 111 camera and I currently use CS4 Photoshop/Bridge

I just purchased a Canon EOS 5D Mark 111 camera and I use CS$ Photoshop/Bridge. Will I need to upgrade my software to make it work with my camera?
What do I do?

Adobe currently offers two versions of Photoshop:
CS6 (perpetual license: pay once, own forever: no upgrades)
CC (Cloud version: subscription only: all upgrades are free)
CS6 is superseded software. Adobe is no longer working on it. However CS6 is still being offered for sale for those who want it. However, since CS4 is not eligible for an upgrade to CS6, you're faced with paying full price for CS6.
The CC option requires a monthly fee but it's the current version. It's the next major version after CS6. New and enhanced features are added to CC regularly.
If neither the full priced CS6 nor the Cloud CC version are for you then the free DNG converter is your other option so you can continue using CS4.
You download the free Adobe DNG converter http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html
Then you must open all 5D Mark III Raw files in the converter and convert to DNG. That adds an extra step to your workflow. Then you can edit the DNGs in CS4.
Quality-wise DNG files = Raw files. Raw files are manufacturer and camera specific. DNGs are open source. Any software which reads DNG files can read them.
