Image help

I am trying to make the first page of my project I am working on in InDesign have the same design as the one in Word. Can anybody help me with this? I am trying to make the yellow lines on the edge and botton you see in the picture below onto my InDesign. How do I go about doing this?

What you need to create is a ounded rectangle, and a (thick/thin) stroke.
Apply the corner radius (eg: .125:" in my example), and the shapeo of the radius undernneath.
In the stroke palette change the type to thick/thin.
The 2nd item you would make a rounded rectalgle, then put you text frame on top filled with white to knock out the center.

A "quick" fix that worked for me was to uninstall Adobe... then download the base install for Adobe Reader 11.0.
Then download each of the individual updates and run them sequentially.
I've installed back up to the last security update which is version 08 and have been able to do normal Save As operations.
You will have to disable automatic updates in order to stay at version 08 until Adobe resolves this issue in a later release.

Disk Images Helper Gone Wild?

I've just noticed some strange behavior with a process called "disk images helper." A little while ago, I saw that my CPU usage had peaked, even though I wasn't using any processor-intensive apps. Upon checking Activity Monitor, I saw that the culprit was the "disk images helper," which was using a whopping 99% of my CPU. I'm not sure how this happened, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this behavior and if so, what might be the cause behind it.

Also had this on 10.4.11. I had spotted what I took to be an incomplete download - accidentally tried to mount it and it seems to have happened since then. Killing the process seems to do the job.

IPhoto can't import RAW Images (HELP!!!)

Since I updated My mac to the new Yosemite software, I can't seem to import any RAW images.
It hangs and out of 100 images that im trying to import , only 2 are imported ( for half an hour ) and they are distorted
I 've reinstalled it and still the same problem.
I'm using a Nikon D610
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Early 2011)
OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

First Boot into the Recovery volume (boot with the Command + R keys held down), select Disk Utility and repair disk permissions and the disk. Reboot normally.
If that doesn't help try either of these fixes:

Make a backup of your system and try to downgrade the RAW support to version 6.01
To downgrade the RAW Support to the last version from before the last update try this:
To reinstall the 'RAW Compatibility Update' it is necessary to uninstall the currently installed raw support. Otherwise the installer will rightfully say, that you already have the latest version installed.
If your tests are showing that the problem happens also in a different user account, try this:
The RAW support files are installed in the System Library in the folder "/System/Library/CoreServices" Folder:
To open this folder, use the Finder's "Go" menu. Click the smiling Finder icon in the Dock to bring the Finder forward.
Then type the keyboard shortcut ⇧⌘G (for "Finder > Go > Go to folder") and copy and paste "/System/Library/CoreServices" into the text field. Click the "Go" button.
In the Finder window that will open, delete both the files "RawCamera.bundle" and "RawCameraSupport.bundle". You will have to enter your Administrator password. (don't empty the Trash, so you can put the files back, if need be)
Download the current RAW support update from Apple's Support Site:

In the Downloads folder you will find the disk image with the installer. Double click it to open and run and the installer.
Then restart your Mac.
However, instead of Digital RAW Compatibility 6.0.1 download and apply Digital Camera RAW Compatibility 5.01
which is the updater specifically for D610.

Printer prints some PDF objects as filled (but shows borders only in preview). Print as image helps, but not for all computers. Acrobat X Pro, OCE printer.

We create PDF from Autocad using Adobe PDF printer. When printing that PDF file to OCE printer, some drawing objects are printed as filled (but Acrobat shows correctly - border only). If I open the PDF with Internet browser, I can see those objects as filled as well. If I print the PDF as image from some, not all computers - it prints ok, not filled.
Please help.

Ah. Sure...the term in Fireworks is texture. Search your
Fireworks help file for "texture." There should be an entry on
adding a custom texture. For CS3, the instructions are
quote:
Adding a custom texture
You can use bitmap files from Fireworks and other
applications as textures. You can apply textures from files with
these formats: PNG, GIF, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, and PICT (Macintosh
only).
When you add a new texture, its name appears in the Texture
Name pop-up menu.
To create a new texture from an external file:
1. With vector object properties displayed in the Property
inspector, select Other from either of the Texture Name pop-up
menus.
2. Navigate to the bitmap file you want to use as the new

To get the menu, you need to have a vector object selected.
If you don't have one, just make a rectangle and go from there. You
won't be able to fill your canvas, you'll have to make a vector
rectangle the size of your canvas to fill, anyway.

Poor quality image with doing videos with photos/images HELP!

I bought Adobe Premiere Element to make videos with pictures. When I do the video, the quality of my photos is good. When I save the video on my computer or I download it on youtube (example) the quality of my photos is extremely poor. Why? Does anyone can help me? Thank you!

What Project Preset did you choose at New Project? In the case of Video, composed of Still Images ONLY, you would set that to your desired delivery specs. Not so, if you are also using Video. I tried several types of parameters. Some parameters give poor quality when I upload it to Youtube (for example) and others in the design of video and upload to YouTube. So which settings should I use for photos only ?
This sounds like you are talking about the Export/Share settings for output to YouTube.
What I was asking is what did you start off with, when you were at New Project?
If you are doing an SD Project, you will have either 720 x 480 (NTSC), or 720 x 576 (PAL) pixels in the Project's Frame Size. If that is what you want, then I would Scale your camera original Stills to 640 x 480 (for NTSC), as you have Square Pixels, and the Project will have either 0.9 for NTSC Standard, or 1.21 for NTSC Widescreen).
PrE can Scale the Still Images, but the Scaling algorithms in Photoshop are much better, and offer more control.
Now, if you wish to do an HD Project, just choose that as your Preset, and then use the Images in about their original size. Note, there will be some black borders, as the screen-caps most likely have a different Aspect Ratio, than a Video Project, which for HD will be 16:9. Especially with screen-caps, that are pretty low resolution to begin with, I would NOT do any Scaling, and would live with the letterboxing, or pillar boxing, rather than Scale and effectively Crop.
Also, when Scaling in Photoshop, I do not Save_As JPEG, as it introduces compression, but only as either PSD (Photoshop's native format), or PNG.

AUDIO help...IMAGES help!!!!

I have recently created a site using iWeb 1.1.2. All looks and works well in iWeb. I uploaded to the server, (my own domain, not .Mac) and the audio files I put up do not load, there is either a question mark or the quicktime Q. Nothing happens if you click around there. I saw the audio files being transferred (or rather saw the progress of them, as they are reasonably large mp3 files) so I imagine that they are on the server.
Also, some of the images have vanished from the site and have been replaced by question marks. Any ideas?

Yes, I used Transmit and dragged both the site folder and the index.html file across. I have now discovered that the site works fine in iWeb but when I open the html from the sites folder the problems happen. Am I better of trying to use flash or something? Thanks for helping!

Curious Problem with Images - Help required soon

I'm working towards a Monday deadline and this problem with Pages is giving me nightmares.
The images swap but keep the same bounding area. A logo, for example, may have in its place a screenshot.
It is getting out of hand and I need help with this quickly.

You can set the preferred address to bind the registry via the "java.rmi.server.hostname" system property, which can be set via the command line:
java -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=127.0.0.1
or...
java -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=my_host
I think you can also set the property programatically via the setProperty() method in the java.lang.System class

Bottom image showing thru top image, help

hi,
i received a pdf, looking at it thru preview looks fine. placed pdf in indesign file (cs3) and can see bottom image coming thru top image. Want bottom image (globe) behind top image, but showing thru. If I check off Overprint Previes it looks fine but still looks bad in indesign file and still prints (from printer) that way. How do I fix this?

A bit confused by the question without seeing an example but I'll try and help. If you want the image top image to overprint (making the bottom one show through) you could select the image in InDesign and set the Effect (effects panel) to multiply.

Importing Image Help

I am trying to import an image I created in Adobe Illustrator into my iweb page (company logo). Whether I paste it as a pdf, export the image from illustrator as a jpeg and insert into iweb or save as a screenshot and import to iweb via iphoto, the resulting image in iweb has a grey box around it which I cannot remove. It seems like a legacy issue from the original illustrator file, but nothing I can see specifically. Maybe it's tied to the artboard in illustrator? How do I fix?

when I import illustrator files into iWeb, they automatically have a white stroke (rectangle) around the file, and a drop shadow. You can turn these features off (or unselect) in the inspector on the graphic tab.

Large image help needed please

Hey all,
I hope you can help - at this point I am nearing tears of frustration.. I have been working with CS4 for a month or so and just got a colour scanner. Installation of the scanner etc. went fine and I can now scan my artwork in to the pc.
I knew there was a problem with scanning stuff in directly through photoshop so I used the software that came with my scanner to get my images. Here's where my problems start!
I can use every graphics program you can possibly care to think of to open the image be it gimp, fireworks or illustrator but I can't get photoshop to open the file - it just hangs and stops responding. I have tried opening it in other software and saving it in various different formats including BMP, TIF, PNG and PSD but nothing I do will get photoshop to open them. I know its not the files themselves because every other program can open, edit and save them.
please help me solve this problem because I know photoshop very well and don't want to have to learn a new program to edit my files in

I thought (hoped) this would have been figured out by now. I'm aware that you cannot scan directly into Photoshop from Photoshop using the Vista 64 version No twain available for 64 bit I believe. However, since you are using the Vista 32 bit is it possible to use your scanner directly in Photoshop?

Leopard Can't open any Image HELP!!

This is very weird, I've been working fine all these past days since I installed Leopard, but suddenly I am not able to open any image file (giff, tiff, jpeg, even Acrobat files) with my preview image or photoshop, it looks like the file is open, I mean, IT IS OPEN but I CANT SEE ANYTHING, when I click the window toolbar I see that the file is there, but I cant see anything, same thing happend with Photoshop, I see all the layers of the file, I see even the file in the navigator, but I cant see the file itself !!! help, thanks

Sorry that didn't work. Here are some other suggestions.
How big is your Hard Drive, and how much room is left on it? Apple suggests you leave at least 10-15% free at all times, or else weirdness may ensue.
What kind of Install of Leopard did you do? If you did the Upgrade, weirdness may ensue. Back everything up and Archive and Install (preserving all users) or, better, Erase and Install. You can use Time Machine for the backup and reinstall from it. I've done it, and it works.
Also, did you download the 10.5.1 update? If so, did you do it from Software Update (39MB) or Apple Downloads(110MB)? If you didn't install it, go to Apple Downloads and use that one for best results.
Hope some of these help.

I think I understand what you would like to have. Sadly this
is not a very easy thing. You need to have a (ajax based) posting
form which make a script rotate the image of the sunglass in
accordance with the selections. I suggest you to hire a php coder
to solve this for you.

CS5 won't save images- help

I just had photoshop cs5.1 installed, but when I tried to use it, I found that I can't save images using File>Save or Save As. I've tried using the short cut keys, and those don't work either. However, I can save images by closing an image and selecting 'yes' when the prompt for the image saving comes up. This is the only way I can save an image, but it is terribly inefficient. I can open images just fine, and everything else seems to work..
I use photoshop on my acer aspireone netbook, which has windows 7 starter. The netbook itself is new as well. I don't know what might be causing this issue, but I really appreciate for some help!

Other than [temporarily] using a higher resolution or using a larger virtual desktop or something that gives you more than 768 pixels, not that I know of.
It's possible you may be able to find a way to get your display driver to expose resolutions higher than 600 pixels vertically, though I can't guess how good or poor it will look on your display.
It's always been a head shaker why Adobe's software fails in this way, rather than just putting the dialog on the screen and allowing you to use keystrokes to access buttons that may be off-screen. For what it's worth, on my Windows 7 system, the smallest File - Save As dialog is 563 pixels width by 632 pixels height.
Adobe really should put some effort into fixing this.
