Image in playback window resizes

Hi
Ive loaded half a dozen good quality dslr images into a sequence (using the drag/drop to new sequence method to ensure appropriate sequence format) and they look fine until I add transitions then render and save when they resize pop in by about 15% (squeeze in at sides only). This resizing which leaves black borders on the sides can be adjusted back by grabbing the image edge handle and tweeking by a nats at which time it pops back to normal until i save etc etc
whats going on??

OK, I have good news and I have bad news.
I have been able to recreate the problem on my system.
The good news is that it is nothing to worry about for most people. If you add effects and you have to render to get real time playback, it does squish the images leaving a black border. However, it doesn't export that way as far as I can tell, even if you tell it to use the render files, which I never, ever do, for any of my videos. If you create titles or masks that require exact dimensions, it appears that you can use the squished image and it will expand as required upon export. That requires further testing by someone who needs to edit this way. I don't.
If you delete the render files, the images go back to normal. So you could generate your masks and titles that way and then just render again.
The bad news is that it does appear to be a bug that needs to be fixed because it will certainly confuse any clients looking over your shoulder. If you render the entire work area, thinking that since you didn't add any effects to most of it there should not be a problem, think again. You don't need to add effects for the problem to appear.
So, it is off to put in a bug report.  https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
However, something tells me that if this is not an easy fix, it might end up on the bottom of the pile of reports. I doubt that there are many people editing video using the DSLR images at full size. Why? How would anyone play them back? The biggest screen I have is 1920X1080 and I am pretty much ahead of the curve. Most people who do not edit video have screens with smaller dimensions.
Eventually that will change as people get 4K televisions, so it might be a really good idea to fix it now rather than wait until the last minute and fail to get it into the release that hits just before the Christmas sales of 4K televisions at Sears and Walmart.
For those of you playing along at home it looks like the second image below. Look at the righthand edge:
Edit: My report has been submitted. Your turn.

  • Illustrator Application Window Resizes When Opening Smart Object from PSD

Hi All, I've taken a vector graphic created in AI CS4 and pasted it into my PSD CS4 doc as a smart object. When the original AI file was created the application window was set as I preferred it, filling my screen. When I double click the Smart Object in PSD to edit it back in Illy, the window that contains the application has been switched off of the fill screen mode and is quite a bit smaller. I know it's small but now I have to click the maximize icon in the application bar to get Illy to fill the screen again. It wouldn't be so bad once, but the application window resizes itself every time I punch back into the smart object from PSD.
Any ideas on how I can get the AI environment from switching around on its own??
Win 7, CS4, all patches current, Dual 22" montiors
    thnx,
    jeff

I just want to point out that when you open the smart object of course it is not the same file as the original but an embedded copy of it.
That might also have something to do with this issue and might also be a photoshop issue with the smart object and one reason might be that Photoshop is see the image as resolution and Illustrator sees it as a dimension and the teams might be able to do something about this but might not actually be aware of it unless you file a report even if it is not a bug it would then be a feature request.
They might not be able to do anything about it but then there might be a clever engineer with an idea, so it might be worth the report.

  • Motion playback window MUCH better quality than final output?

I'm puzzled. I export a straight DV NTSC. The Motion playback window pops up when the job is done. It plays back the finished clip and it looks just grand, very clean. I open the clip itself in the Quicktime Player and it is quite ugly, full of artifacting and waffling.
Can someone explain to me the difference between the Motion playback window (the one that pops up when a job has been exported) and the Quicktime Player (such that one looks great and the other looks horrible)?
    B.

    Cher Mark,
****. Isn't life curious. And my brain even more curioser (to me). I've got credits on hundreds of films, I've produced at least twenty films myself in the last five years, I've edited half of them myself ... and I never ever knew there was that option on the Quicktime Player. Duh. Maybe it has something to do with working in SD again ... back in prehistoric times when everybody was working in SD there was always a good external monitor; and when we switched to HD the difference in QT Player quality was less noticeable, actually, I just looked, not noticeable on my laptop.
Thank you thank you, again, Mark ... the light goes on ... now I'm going to race off and find, I bet it exists, a draft\best mode for the FCP canvas window: We've been using the canvas window - dragged and resized on a second HD monitor to get a full frame 4:3 to cut this IMAX film. I'm trying to convince the boys to switch over to Apple (it's mainly a PC pipeline right now): so they have a modest tower (no frills), and are cutting in SD. They are being converted by degrees.
    Very much appreciated...

  • Preset manager - window resizing

    Hello
Can you please reinstate window resizing for the preset manager.
I work with 8 bit and 16 bit colour (for television) and work with colour in groups of 16.
When I could resize the window, I could do so so that there were 16 colours across and I could see exactly if I had too many colours or too few.
Now, I cannot do this and it is annoying.
    Thank you
    Jo Higgins

    That is a total furphy.
I have just been through all the presets on the largest list settings and not one of them approaches the width that is set (see pink arrow in image below)
Changing the dialog (as per previous versions of photoshop) would not affect the ability to switch among present types.

  • [Forum FAQ] Schedule multiple versions of System Image Backup in Windows 8.1

As we known that there is no UI for user to configure Image backup in Windows 8.1, this is a guide for your to schedule multiple versions of System Image Backup.
Step 1: Create a task to schedule an image backup with following command:
    SCHTASKS /Create /SC WEEKLY /D MON /TN WeeklyFullBackup /RL HIGHEST /ST 13:00 /TR “wbAdmin Start Backup -backupTarget:F: -include:C: -allCritical -quiet”
Step 2: Schedule a robocopy to backup the saved image with BAT file:
Please create a new folder (in this example, the new folder is e:\test2) to save your multiple copies of image backup:
Write following batch file to copy backup and rename with backup date:
    *****************BAT********************
    @echo off
    robocopy e:\test1\ e:\test2\ test.wim
    ren e:\test2\test.wim  test_%date:~10,4%%date:~7,2%%date:~4,2%_%time:~0,2%%time:~3,2%.wim
NOTE: e:\test2 is my location to save multiple copies of image backup; e:\test1 is the location I create the system image backup.
This BAT can also help to rename the copy of image backup with date and time like below:
      3.  Set up a basic task in Task schedule:
Note: please make sure the time you configured follows the time you set for image backup in Step 1.
Action -> Create basic task (Name you task) -> Trigger (Set how often this task should be run) -> Action (Start a program) -> Under Program/script, point to your bat file you create in Step 2.b -> Finish
At the end, you can know more about SCHTASKS and Robocopy via following links:

Is this image recovery working properly when my system got in big trouble???

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the bottom of the computer, inside the battery compartment, or on the BIOS startup/setup screen. Please do not include the serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and post it here for our review.
Please use Windows "System Image Backup" utility to create an exact image of the Windows 8.1 partition as it currently is, on an external hard drive. You may also need to create a Windows "repair" disc. If your computer developes issues or you need to replace the hard drive, all you have to do is "restore" the image to the computer. Please see Windows 8.1 Tip: Use System Image Backup for instructions on creating and restoring a "Windows - System Image Backup."
This process is not a system recovery and is different than using Window Restore or Refresh, or HP System Recovery.

  • Video seek doesn't work in detached playback window. Win 7 x64

Seeking video using the tracker doesn't work in a detached video playback window when running 64-bit Windows 7. It last worked in 9.0.1, it stopped working in 9.0.2, and it wasn't fixed in 9.0.3. I can replicate this on every Windows 7 64-bit machine. I constantly have to waste time looking for an old downgraded version of iTunes as a result of this. It's been 6 months now. How many more years do you geniuses need to fix this blatantly obvious regression defect in your product?

    Update:
I've just discovered that this is apparently only a problem with Firefox. I can adjust volume in flash games and YouTube in Google Chrome just fine. Still not sure of any way to fix these issues with Firefox, but it still helps to know that.

  • Scrolling and windows resizing

Is there a way to turn off the feature where if you scroll up or down with your mouse positioned over a windows title bar it resizes the window. This "feature" works with both a standard mouse using a scrollwheel and also when using a touchpad with two finger scrolling.

The only third party program that I use which modifies the mouse is Sizeup and I have rigorously gone through its setting to determine if it was causing this behaviour. Also the behavior persists even when I shut down sizeup so I don't think it is the cause.
    edit:
I would also add that this behaviour only appeared after I upgraded to 10.8. While I do have a lot of third party programs running and alot of them were updated when mountain lion was released so it is theoretically possible that this is behaviour is comeing from an external source I have no idea why any of the other programs I have running would affect window resizing.

  • How do I view multiple images in one window?

How do I view multiple images in one window?  I want to compare images side by side, not in tabs.

Thank you, Barbara.  I found that I had to close the program after I turned on "allow floating documents" and restart, before I was able to go to "float all in windows".

  • Crashes on window resize

I am a loyal user of logic for 8 years now. yes I'm posting about an issue where logic crashes (as in: freezes for 30 seconds then closes even if other apps are reWired to it)
It does this SOMETIMES, when resizing any window in logic..
it says: UNEFINED RECURSION ERROR and then you know you'll be rebooting your mac g5 (tested on g4 too)
I sit here thinking of ten years of buying updates.
and by PURE LUCK alone, I buy every update hoping that certain issues will be fixed. Most are not.
On a mac there are two ways a window can be act when being resized:
1 - as you drag the re-sizer corner of the window, you see only a dotted outline of the window, then when you let go, the window resizes.
2 - as you drag, the entire contents of the window moves as you drag.
#2 causes crashes. #1 is fast and quick.
Mr. Moderator, you can delete this post as expected. But you do know as well as I do, these guys never do a user request.
I mean my $200 alone is enough to pay one developer to fix things like this.
Nevermind $200 from 2 million people!
What are you doing with your user requests and your users money?

Might try removing your media files associated with the project... put them in another folder, or disconnect the fw drive that holds them...?
Do other project files do the same or just this one?

  • How to display an image in a window ?

    Hi all,
Could someone point me to a document that explains (preferably with code samples) how I go about displaying a JPEG image in a window.
What I'm eventually trying to create is a slideshow, but for now, I just want to add an image to a JFrame and have that display, and even this simple first step is beyond me. There seem to be quite a few different classes to deal with images, but I'm just looking for the simplest one.
With a view to my future requirements, I will want to be able to dynamically shrink an image so that it fits in the window, as well as cropping images so that the full resolution is displayed, but anything that doesn't fit in the window is chopped off.

    hi,
how to place an image in the cells of a grid and to drag and drop that image. i have the code to locate the postion of each cell on mouse click. now i want to place an image in particular cell and i want to drag and drop that particular image to other cells of grid.
    is it possible.
