IMAGE Length to fit music LENGTH

I've been having a miserable time getting my images in a slideshow in iMovie to "fit" the length of the music so they both end at the same time. Usually this involves a very intricate dance that involves setting the time of each image and sometimes doing a manual calculation.
Oftentimes I have been have a buggy problem of changing all the images' lengths at once - or to get the length of time to stick because they seem to revert back to the original time that was set for the image (which is a real pain).
I just bought Aperture. Is this possible to do in Aperture? Is there mac software that will let me do this easier? Is there something buggy with my system or do others have a hard time with this? I have slideshows I would like to post but I can't finish them because I can't change the length of the images display...
Thanks.

There's an option in the slideshow setting in Aperture 3 to "Fit slideshow to main audio track". That should make things easier for you to set up.

  • ImageSaver: Encoded Image Length is 0

    Hello Guys,
I am trying to use Image Saver to save an PDF Document generated within the Transaction to a folder. I am working on MII 12.1 SP5 and getting the following error from Image Saver :
[ERROR] [Image_Saver_1]ImageSaver: Encoded Image Length is 0
As per the error, i thought it may be due to unavailability of any data in the PDF and then i added PDF Text action and entered some text there. Still then the error is persistent.
What can be the reason here ...
    Appreciate your response.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    Hello Amit,
I am not sure on which patch level or build  is your MII running but there was fix for PDF action blocks in patch 3 for SP 5.
    Refer to SAP note: 1457327
    Hope this helps!!

  • Still image length

i am making a stop motion thing and i cant seem to change my image length lower than 1 second. i want it to be shorter than 1 second. when i select all the images and then go to duration and try to change it to lower than 1 second it wont let me. example 00:00:01:00 i try and change it to 00:00:00:45 it just thinks i want 1.15 seconds. i want .45 seconds.

    Afromatics,
The last number are frames, since each second is devided in frames (hence frames per second). So when using NTSC :45 would results in 1:15 since there are only 29,97 frames per second.

  • Image length attributes copy

I know how to copy attributes from one clip or image to another, however, is there a way to copy one images length or run time to other images? Let's say I have a video full of images, a glorified slide show, and all images import into FCPX with a time of 30 seconds. If I put the first image on the timeline and then reduce the run time to 2 seconds, is there a way to copy & past that run time to all the other images I put down? Like a batch alter function.

Never mind. Found change duration. but can't get the shortcut key to work.

  • Can I resize a Quick Selected image so it fits when I cut and paste it on a different background.

Can I resize a Quick Selected image so it fits when I cut and paste it on a new background? I am trying to take a photo of someone and place it on a different background. The Quick Selected image is too big when I paste it on the background. You can only see a small portion of the persons head.

Open the photo, then go to Image>resize>image size. Read what the resolution is in px/in.
Get out of this screen. Then use one of the selection tools to select the person, go to Edit>copy to put it on the clipboard
Now, go to File>new>blank file. Enter width & height, and the same resolution value.
Go to Edit>paste. The person will be on a separate layer. Use the move tool to position, and, to resize with the corner handles, if necessary
Note: For printing, it is desirable to have the resolution in the 240-300px/in range. For web work, 72 px/in is ok

Hello, we are interested in more information on the Image Size > Fit To option in phototshop.  For example, if we open a 46x25 inch 120 dpi image and choose Fit to 4x6" does all of the resolution remain?  Any links to tutorials in this area are appreciated.

Let's look at the first thing: Aspect Ratio  46W x 25H does not fit 6W x 4H exactly. You get 6W x 3.621H If we preserve Landscape Orientation and Aspect Ratio. If I set H to 4, W will be 7.36 inches, clipping your picture.
You'll have to decide on how to clip off that 1.36 inches so your picture can be 4 x 6 in order to solve that problem.
Notice I set Resample off. Throwing out pixels is destructive editing. So what I am doing is "Scaling", changing the Print Size without touch the pixels. Notice how high the resolution goes up.
To Resample or not will be your decision.  I hope I answered your questions properly. Let me know otherwise.

  • 1242 Lightweigth Image length

Does anybody know the length of the image file that the WLC sends to the Lightweigth AP 1242, I´m using a WLC 2504 running code 7.3.112.0. I would like to know this for considering the amount of remote APs that I could upgrade simultaneously through a 2 Mbps link
    Thanks.

    Hello Alejandro,
As per your query i can suggest you the following solution-
    Guidelines for Upgrading Controller Software
Follow these guidelines before upgrading your controller to software release 6.0:
•Make sure that you have a TFTP or FTP server available for the software upgrade. Follow these guidelines when setting up a TFTP or FTP server:
–Controller software release 6.0 is greater than 32 MB; you must make sure that your TFTP server supports files that are larger than 32 MB. Some TFTP servers that support files of this size are tftpd32 and the TFTP server is within WCS.
If you attempt to download the 6.0 controller software and your TFTP server does not support files of this size, the following error message appears: "TFTP failure while storing in flash."
For more information you can refer to the link-

    Hope this will help

  • How? Minimize image length when dragging from Project Pane to Timeline

    Greetings Gurus.
How do you keep an image, dragged from the project panel to the timeline, from spanning the entire composition length?
Images pulled to the timeline always span the entire composition. When you have a hundred clips, and only need two seconds or so, resizing each clip in a four minute composition is ... well, time consuming. Even dragging to the time and layer order just pushes it off the composition end, and still requires resizing.
Has to be an easy answer. Ready for my Homer Simpson "Doh!".
    Thanks in advance
    Gr33nE99s

To reset the out point of 100 layers press Ctrl/Cmnd + a while in the Timeline, move the CTI (current time indicator) to the desired out point, then press Ctrl/Cmnd + ]
Using the [ key sets the in poing.
or, as has been mentioned you can reset the default duration for still images in Preferences.

  • Image doesn't fit on screen

At startup, right after desktop image, top menu and dock loads, monitor resolution is being reset so only part of the desktop image fits on the screen. Going to Display Preferences and switching resolution does nothing. Starting up in Safe Mode and hooking up a CRT monitor instead doesn't change anything either. Also tried to reset PRAM and trash com.apple.windoserver.plist
The problem first appeared while I was using computer. Screen resolution suddenly changed.
    Apple Cinema 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi
    Screen resoultion suddenly changed. <</div>
This sounds like a monitor cable fault or a graphics card fault. Either one or the other or both are not now able to support the full range of resolutions they were able to support before the fault occured. To determine where the fault lies you could do one of two things. Borrow another monitor and try your mac on that and see if the follows the graphics card/mac or if you have a friend with a computer that you can try your monitor on to see if the fault follows the monitor.

  • Preview won't open images zoomed to fit

    Hi everyone,
This is a little issue I've only recently noticed that I've no idea how to rectify. Preview has suddenly started opening all images at their full size meaning I have to either zoom out or click the 'Zoom to Fit' button each time I open a large images or set of large images.
'Scale large images to fit window' is selected in the preferences but it keeps happening! The version is 3.0.9 (409). Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jez.

I'm thinking maybe your Preview preferences are corrupted. Here's the way to find out. Locate this file: com.apple.preview.plist
It's here: /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Open the Preferences folder, locate that file and drag it to the Trash. The next time you launch Preview, your Mac will create a new preference file for you. You will have to reset your Preferences in the Preview/Preference pane but shouldn't take but a minute. Hopefully Preview will behave itself now.
    Also, run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility is located here;

  • CD image no longer in Music column, not dragable

Apple keeps making infuriating changes to iTunes to make it more and more difficult to work with.
    The latest one is this:
BEFORE:  1. Put a CD in the computer's drive.  2. CD image appears above music folders.  3. Drag the CD image to the desired playlist.  4. CD tracks import to that playlist.
OR: 1. Put a CD in the computer's drive.  2. CD image appears above music folders.  3. Click on CD image.  4. CD tracks appear to the right of the music list. 5. Select all tracks and drag them to the desired playlist  6. CD tracks import to that playlist.
AFTER (version 12.0.1.26):  1. Put a CD in the computer's drive.  2. CD image appears in icon menu near the top.  3. CD image can't be dragged to playlist.  4. Hunt all over for a way to get the tracks to the playlist.  5. Eventually open the playlist.  6. Discover "Add to" button. 6. Click on that.  7. Find the icon for the CD in the "Recently added" list.  8. Drag that image to the playlist.  9. Don't forget to click on "Done" above the playlist.
So much more complicated, so unintuitive.  Thank you, Apple, for "helping" me.
And by the way, when opening up the "About" window for iTunes, I wasn't able to memorize the version number 12.0.1.26 before it scrolled out of the window, and I had to wait forever for it to reappear.  That scrolling is a really useful feature with no purpose.  Thanks a million for that.

I have a related question, I guess. I have all the podcasts on my ipod in a playlist called "AllPodcasts." I now understand that I can shift+delete to actually delete podcasts from the iPod, but what about stuff that I just "deleted" before without the shift, and which thus were only removed from the playlist, but didn't free up space on the iPod?
Used to be (in pre-7 iTunes) that there would be one big catchall list of everything, but now I can't get the iPod to display the podcasts that I removed form the AllPodcasts playlist (so I can really delete them and free up space).
How can I view those files in order to get rid of them now? Do I have to go into disk mode? Please HELP, anyone. Thank you.

  • Maximum number of slides to fit music?

After album for slideshow is created, title given, is there a limit on the number of pictures that will play in a slideshow. I have found that, i.e., if I have 62 photos, it would not sync with the music that I was trying to "fit" with the slideshow. What am I doing wrong? I picked a 54-minute song but the first slide just sat there. My only remedy was to split the show into two.

Oops - hadn't updated our computers in a while. G5 has been replaced with a iMac Snow Leopard with newest software.

  • Scanned images won't fit photo boxes in book

    Hi.
Well, I am working on a book filled with letters from my grandparents (Old Toad, thanks for your earlier help). I've tried scanning them in and then placing in the boxes, but they are being cut off. When I try cropping at the 4x3 image, I still loose the images. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?
    Thanks in advance!

If you don't see any cutting off of the scanned images in a frame you shouldn't have to crop them. There's an option when you Control-click on the photo in the frame to "Fit to frame". If the photo is 4:3 I think it will be scaled up to fit the window exactly. If it's not then the larger size is scaled up to fit, leaving more white space on the shorter side. It's a minor thing, mostly aesthetic in nature.
Before completing the ordering process I suggest to find and copy the pdf file that is produced by iPhoto for uploading and printing to review carefully. Just to be on the safe side. Here's how:
How to Find the iPhoto Generated PDF File:
1 - Start the ordering process and stop after the book has been assembled and you get to the Order pane where you select the cover color, copies, etc.
2 - Go to the Finder and select the Go->Go to Folder menu item (CommandShiftG).
3 - copy the following, “/private/var/tmp/folders.501/TemporaryItems/iPhoto” (for Panther the path is "/private/tmp/501/TemporaryItems/iPhoto“), and paste into the Go to Folder search box.
4 - the iPhoto folder will be brought up. In it will be the PDF file that was generated by iPhoto. You can copy it (Option-drag) to the Desktop to review and/or save.
Note: the iPhoto folder will not exist before you start the ordering process and is deleted after the order is completed or after you cancel the order and quit iPhoto.

  • Loss of display image quality when fit to screen

    Hi everyone,
I've noticed that when I'm editing with PSE and have the view set so that the photo fits the screen (which means, it's very much zoomed out), the quality of the photo suffers.  Almost like there's some pixelation, but not really.  I apologize for the unclear explanation, I just don't know what the term is for this loss of quality when zoomed out a lot.  I don't mean to disparage PSE, which is a great program, but I don't have this problem with another (free) program I also use.  I'm just trying to find out if it's something in my display settings that I can change or some other way I can fix this.  I often like to see the whole picture when editing but it's almost impossible to do editing when looking at the whole picture in PSE since it looks so off.
    Thank you.

The image size are 1600x1200 or larger and should be adequate in size.  Anyone know how to improve the quality of the stills? I feel it may have something to do with the program resizing/ downsizing the pics.
You are correct. This is a case of bigger not being better. I would suggest resizing in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, or similar, to the Frame Size of your Project, or just slightly larger, if you need to pan on any, when they are zoomed out to full size.
This ARTICLE will give you some tips on resizing.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
