I suggest you download the latest version of ZoomBrowser (6.9.0a) from the Canon site.
Adobe changed the output of JPGs which caused problems with other programs - Canon have updated their software.

  • What photoshop ver. do i need to do image modification, age progression

help im new and want to use the feature i hear about image modification, age progression, of using a photo. but i need to exactly know what photoshop ver. to buy. t/y

Perhaps you are thinking of the freebie Morphing software ?
    http://logicnet.dk/SmartMorph/
I used it a couple of years ago...I did one for Chuck from his two pictures in our Artists gallery here...boy to man. I see it's being replaced by another version. It was fun to play with ! I still got it here somewhere.
If you are thinking you need to 'age' someone as they do on the Forensic shows in order to locate someone then Photoshop or Elements has the tools you need to do this manually provided you spend time learning the program to it's fullest capacity and have an understanding of how bone structure evolves over time...

  • Option missing to open images as layers in Photoshop.

The option to edit in Photoshop CS4 from Lightroom 4 and return is just fine. However, the option to Open images as layers in Photoshop is grayed out as well as the option to open as Smart Object or Merge.

These other options work differently than the simple "Edit in..".
The method that does work for you, with CS4, is using Photoshop as a standard external editor by means of a "dumb" interaction. LR does all the work of converting the image into a bitmp and then saving it as a TIFF or PSD. It knows just enough about the other program, to tell the operating system to start the program executable and to pass it the file that has already been created. Then it keeps an eye on the file, watching for modifications saved to it by the other application.
The only compatibility needed between the two programs is: that PS (or whatever) can understand a TIFF or a PSD made by LR; and in return, that PS (or whatever) can save a modified file which LR can display.
The extended options you mention, rely on LR getting PS to get ACR to do all the work of conversion, and then in due course, for PS to take care of file creation too, and furthermore, to tell LR which file has been created where. This is partly because several conversions are involved rather than one; conversions made directly into Photoshop's memory space but not yet onto disk; which is ACR territory.
In order for this more complex interaction to happen, LR needs to be talking to a fully-compatible PS and ACR partnership - which it knows will properly read all its adjustments, and include them in the bitmap information. At present, from LR4, that means either Photoshop CS6 with ACR 7.x - or else (as a special concession), Photoshop CS5 with ACR 6.7. Unless one of those two setups is detected, these forms of interaction are greyed out. Sorry

  • Probleme avec photoshop cs4; lenteur et disfonctionnement

    Bonjour,

In Photoshop Elements 10, you must install the TWAIN plug-in before you can scan. Go to Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 10>support files>optional plug-ins>Importmodules and move TWAIN.plugin to Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 10>support files>plug-ins>Importmodules.

  • Image dimension limitations in Photoshop Elements?

I'm trying to find out what the maximum image dimensions are for Photoshop Elements 8.0
I know Photoshop CS increased the previous limit of 30,000x30,000 to 300,000x300,000.
According to this page, PSE 5 and 6 were limited to 30k:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402760.html
Yet according to this page, PSE 5 can reportedly handle 300k:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333456.html
I'd like to upgrade from Elements v4 to v8, but one thing I need to ensure is that it can handle >30000px images, otherwise I'll have to go for CS5...
Can anyone give me a definitive answer, please?

When you installed the plugin(s), the installer should have created a folder in
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Image Trends Inc\Hemi 1.0
Go to the Hemi 1.0 folder and copy the three plugins that don't say x64 and paste them into the pse 11 editor plugins folder
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\Plug-Ins

  • Reimport image after modifying in Photoshop CC from Lightroom 5.3

Tilla week ago I used to work on a PC. When modifying an image from Lightroom into Photoshop 6 the image was automatically reimported in the origin folder,
I am now on a MacPro and when I modify an image in Photoshop CC from Lightroom 5.3 it reimports the image in a ghost directory with the same name than the origin directory. It is accessible but seen as a different diretctory with the same name. When I try to copy the image in the origin directory I have a message that an image with the same name is already present in the directory. It can not be seen and I can not pile the new and old images together. What can I do?

Lightroom, no.  You need a graphics editor.  If Photoshop Extended does what you need, why not keep using it?   Creative Cloud Photography plan | Adobe Creative Cloud
Elements is a significantly simpler version of Photoshop.  It might do what you need but it lacks the finer bells & whistles offered by Extended.

  • Images appear fine in Photoshop cs6 and cc, but print too dark, and also show too dark in Windows picture viewer. How can I correct this? Is this a Photoshop setting issue or what?

Images appear fine in Photoshop cs6 and cc, but print too dark, and also show too dark in Windows picture viewer. How can I correct this? Is this a Photoshop setting issue or what?

Ok, look at your files in Photoshop. What is the profile assigned to them? You can find this out by going to the Status bar at the bottom, clicking on the right-pointing triangle and choosing document Profile from the list.
Then in Windows, go to your Control Panel > Color Management and add sRGB (if it isn't there) and select it as your default profile.
    I hope that will work.

  • My new canon 5D mark111 camera cannot open images in raw in photoshop cs4 extened

I recently purchased a canon 5D mark111 camera and I cannot open the images in camera raw/ photoshop cs4 extended. How do I download a plug in to update this photshop?

    Hi Shelley,
Camera raw plugins after 5.7 are not compatible with photoshop cs4, so you could use the 7.3 DNG Converter to convert
the canon 5d markIII camera raw files to dng copies which should then open in photoshop cs4.

  • Is there a substitute tool path for "Image Adjustments Variations-" in Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition?

Is there a substitute tool path for "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" in Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition that brings similar results?  I was used to using Image>Adjustments>Variations… in Photoshop CS4 Standard Standard Addition quite often. I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition to get the 64bit memory architecture compatibility on my Macbook Pro, booted in Mountain Lion.  I see now that Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition has the "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" tool path removed.
I don't have Photoshop CS6 Extended, which has the all new Image>Adjustments>Variations… tool path.  I only have Photoshop CS6 Standard Addition so, if anyone can share with me a substitute tool set that can give me similar results to using the old "Image>Adjustments>Variations…,"  I would appreciate it.

    Thanks, R_Kelly.
You helped me to start exploring other tools in the Image>Adjustments Menu.  "Image>Adjustments>Color Balance…" seemed to help me get the results that "Image>Adjustments>Variations…" used to deliver.  "Image>Adjustments>Photo Filter>Warming Filter (85)" also got me to where I wanted to be in desired adjustments.  I used to get the results I wanted in brightness, contrast, mid-tone adjustment, and color balance buy using just Curves, Variations, and Hue/Saturation.  Now I'll use "Color Balance…" and "Photo Filter>Warming Filter (85)" along with Curves, and Hue/Saturation.  I also have learned to use "Levels" some more to get the same effect as Adjustments>Variations…"  I always thought there were more technically precise adjustment tools to get the same effect as "Image>Adjustments>Variations…"  Adobe dropping Variations in Photoshop CS6 Mac version forced me to learn better image adjustment approaches for pre press color correction and image warming.  I feel confident now to make Photoshop CS6 my prime-time work tool and move the Photoshop CS4 launch icon off of my Mac OS app Dock.  Thanks again, R_Kelly.

  • Bug? Images look different in photoshop

    Hi,
Am hoping somebody can help me as I must be doing something really stupid here. I'm currently evaluating various workflow products, and really like Lightroom but find that whenever I import an image into LR the tones, particular shadow tones, look way too dark. They look kinda posterised.
My monitor is color calibrated with a spyder. I am running Windows XP.
I've attached a link to an image to demonstrate. I took an sRGB JPEG and imported into LR. I then edited a copy in PS (exported as ProPhoto - converted in PS to Adobe 1988 colorspace), another copy is shown exported to Capture NX (also Adobe colorspace).
    http://www.hamiltonconsulting.net/strange%20tones.jpg
if you look at the shadow tones in the folds of the jacket you can see a minor difference between PS and Capture NX but you can see a clear difference in LR. The shadows are way darker.
The image opens fine it every other application I have tried, including the free XP viewers. LR is doing something strange to the file but I cant work out what.
I first noticed the problem occuring in Beta 4.1 and am now getting the same issue in the new Lightroom demo ( I had hoped it was a bug that would have been fixed). I have been installing all sorts of evaluation software of late, so maybe something hasnt been cleaned out of my registry, or something is clashing.
So far, I've tried lots of different images (all with the same problem). Recreating an image database. Reinstalling LR (countless times).
Does anyone have any ideas as to what I can try or do I need to reinstall my entire PC

Yeah dude, that totally makes sense.
"I notice blocking... that... really is a function of lighting..."
Is that some sort of new-age yet-unheard-of phenomenon? If so, please elaborate by all means.
The point is that the image looks like crap displayed in the 'Library' module of LR, but looks fine in any other program. Because no other program is content with sitting around and displaying to you a low quality JPEG preview of your, say, high quality 16-bit uncompressed TIFF image.
That's why there's no blocking in the image loaded up in Photoshop. Yet it's there in LR because LR doesn't bother to render the image 'on-the-fly' until you step into the 'Develop' module.
You don't believe me? Then be happy in your ignorance.
On another note, though, instead of jacking it up to 400% when it's clearly evident at 100%, try calibrating your monitor with a hardware profiler so dark parts of images don't become a muddy mess of blacks. Be forewarned though that it's a double-edged sword: on the one hand, after calibration, you suddenly begin to see details in shadows that you may never before have seen; on the other hand, JPEG artifacts & noise in dark portions of images (inherent to JPEG compression) also become as apparent. Hence, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and figure you just can't see the blocking due to your monitor.
Finally, on a LR-unrelated note, why don't you come back to these forums when you're ready to write posts free of cheap ignorant insults?
