Image no longer opens in CS6 from LR4

Everything has worked perfectly until today.
Yesterday evening, I received an update notice from Adobe for an update called Adobe CSXS INfrastructure CS6 and I agreed to let install. It installed.
That seems to be where the problem started.
Now, when I send an image from LR to Photoshop, it does not open.  The "Edit in" command isn't working. PS opens, but the image does not appear.
Please help.
UPDATE:
I just downloaded and reinstalled PS CS6. I then asked PS CS6 to update, which it did. When finished, there was an error saying that Adobe CSXS INfrastructure CS6 could not install.  Error code: U44M1P7
The good news is that now it all works again!
So, the problem lies in the Infrastructure update, which I will not allow to update again.
Windows 7, 64 bit
Photoshop CS6, all updates
Lightroom 4.1, all updates

I installed the CSXS Infrastructure CS6 - Update too and I have no problems.
CPU i7 2600K, 16GB RAM
Windows 7, 64bit
PhotoShop CS6, all updates
Lightroom 4.1, all updates
Premiere Pro CS6, all updates

  • Can't open files in CS6 from LR4

I just migrated CS6 and LR4 to a new iMac. I then re-installed CS6 from disc because the licensing didn't come over. So far so good. But now in LR4, when enter CMD-E, or choose "open in CS6" from the Edit menu, nothing happens. The file does not open in CS6.
Not sure what I broke or how to fix it but I need it fixed ASAP.
    Thanks.

Working now after I ran the updates. Sorry.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

To configure the browser to use Acrobat or Adobe Reader to open PDF files:
    1. Quit Internet Explorer(any other browser)
    2. Start Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
    3. Choose Edit > Preferences.
    4. Select Internet in the list on the left.
    5. Deselect(Uncheck) Display PDF in Browser, and click OK.
    6. Restart Internet Explorer

    1. You have allowed Apple to auto-upgrade your Mac
    Turn off auto-update here:
Menu > Apple > System Preferences > App Store
    2. The Icons on your dock are Aliases not real apps
They point to where the apps really are which is:
For Pages 5.2.2 in your Applications folder
For Pages '09 in your Applications/iWork folder
    3. You are alternately opening documents randomly with either version of Pages
Both Pages have the same file extension .pages and there is no certainty as to which version opens them when you double click on a file.
right click on the file and choose which version you want to open it
    4. Pages '09 can not open Pages 5 files
Pages 5 can not open Pages '08 files, and will convert and change Pages '09 and Word files.
It will also auto save opened files into its own format.
You can export these back to Pages '09 if you need to:
    Menu > File > Export > Pages '09
    5. Yes Pages 5.2.2 is a marked downgrade
Pages 5.2.2 has a few improvements but has had over 110 features removed and is buggy.
Sooner or later you will not be able to open a file or have it damaged in some way and it has a complex obscure file format largely incompatible with everything else, so you will not be able to rescue the contents of your file. If Pages or some third party server/eMail don't trash your file, eventually Apple will do it for you as it did when it released Pages 5 last September. I recommend using Pages '09 for the time being whilst you look for viable alternatives, some are here already and some are on the way.

  • .NEF files not opening in CS6 from Nikon D3200

    Please help...
I have recently taken a load of photos on a Nikon D3200 in .NEF format... I am running CS6 and have ACR 7.1 (which is the suggested software and Camera Raw pluggin according to Nikon's website) but I am unable to open the Raw files. I just get a message stating; 'Photoshop cannot open this file' and then suggestions to make sure I have the latest Camera Raw update installed - which I do!
How can I access these files without having to resort to using NX2 as I want to edit the images directly in Photoshop?

This excerpt is from a long-gone post by author Bruce Fraser:
Bruce Fraser - 4:17pm Jun 14, 04 PST (#5 of 21) Opening files directly from the camera is a bad idea for a variety of reasons*, and it most certainly isn't faster than using a FireWire or USB2 card reader.         •
            • Drains the camera battery
            • Runs the risk of the software you're using to open the images writing to the card and destroying the format
            • Runs a small but significant risk of USB power frying the camera
            • Slowest method known to mankind of getting images off a CF or SD card

  • Edit in Photoshop CS6 from LR4

When I want to bring 2 images at once into Photoshop CS6 in order to put them side by side, I've tried Edit in & Open as Layers in Photoshop.  Then created a new canvas for these 2 images but don't know how to bring them into canvas.   The images seem to disappear from the right hand panel.  Thanks for your help.

Anyone?  The only way I can edit in PS is to export to the HD as a TIFF, edit, then manually reimport into PS.

  • Can open pdf in CS3 with embedded images, put when opened in CS6 or CC the images are missing

Hi, Would really appreciate some help on this.
I frequently get artwork from clients saved as illustrator eps and pdfs files, that can be opened within CS3 and printed, no problem.
Having recently gone to CS6 and now CC I sometime find I can't open artwork supplied, as the images (links) are missing.
The same documents seem to open in CS3 without any problem.
Could someone explain why this is, and how I can open these documents within the newer versions of illustrator without the missing link problems
    kind regards
    Ed

I suspect your documents are some higher version than CS3 but lower or equal than CS6.
So in CS3 you actually open the PDF part with images ambedded, while CS6 accesses the Ai part without images.
You really should ask the clients to supply files according to whatever specification you need.
But you can also extract the images from the PDF parts of your file simply by opening them in Photoshop. Then select "Images" in PDF options and open the images you need.

  • Image does not open in CS6

The image appears in the Camera Raw window. I click to open it and all that comes up in the workspace is the image's name/text but no image. When I click open in a new window I get a blank window with the same name.
    Mike

Along with Chris' suggestion, if it does not work, can you provide the following info?
Can you give us the specs. of that offending image?
What model of camera did it come from?
What version of PS are you using?
What is your ACR plug-in version?
Is that camera supported by that version?
    What OS are you on?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Files/images will not "open with" CS6?

Just in the last two or three weeks, I cannot right click and open images/documents with any of my CS6 products anymore. I have 2 folders:  Program Files and Program Files (x86) on my Local Disk. Program Files does not have all the CS6 folders. Program Files (x86) DOES have all the CS6 folders PLUS several CS5 and 5.1 folders.
    I would appreciate some suggestions.
    Thanks,

  • HiRISE JP2 Images fail to open in CS6 (64bit) - Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file.

Unable to open any of the HiRISE images within PS CS6.  Receive the following error:  "Could not complete your request because the file-format module cannot parse the file."
The files are NOT corrupt as I can open them in IrfanView and ACDSee, just not Photoshop CS6.
Image Site:  HiRISE | Search for Beagle 2 (ESP_037145_1915)

    System:
         Core i7-4770K
         12GB RAM
         GTX970 4GB RAM

I downloaded a small HiRise JP2 and used Preview to export as Tiff.  It opens up just fine.
Apparently the JP2 takes up an awful lot of memory uncompressing, and Photoshop gives up.
HiRISE | Sedimentary Fans North of Mojave Crater (ESP_038851_1900)
(Deleted that second .jp2 file. It slowed my Windows 7 system to a crawl).
I also got the same error on the file in Message one, so saving it as a tiff would work.

  • Image will not open in PS from LR

i cannot open an image in PS 2014 from LR 5.5, even though I believe I am following the proper sequence....photo... edit ...open in PS...

Ok, since you mentioned 100s of jpegs, you can go into File > Scripts > Image Processor and use it to batch convert the jpegs to tiffs.
It should save you a lot of work.
Using flash cards are sometimes necessary, just make a copy of the folder before you send any media out in case this happens again.
(They could have well lost or damaged the thing.)

  • Images won't open in PS from Bridge and Camera Raw.

I am suddenly unable to open images in Photoshop CS5 from Bridge or Camera Raw - what have I done wrong - how can I rectify it.

This sounds serious.  I would make sure you have a backup on a seperate hd or disk or you photos and other documents.  If the drive fails you may loose everything on the hard drive.
Check your free space and fragmentation on hd.  You should have about 20% free space.  So if you have a 400 gig drive you should have 80 gig free.

  • Image won't open after copy from lr 3 to ps3

    hello,
ps cs3  won't open an image after i select copy or use original from LR 3 3.5 /camera raw 6.5.
if i select open with LR adjustments (first choice at top) image will open.
i'm guessing this has something to do with the version of camera raw??
    thanks, Owen

Ok, i did some testing and here's what i came up with. I use both the d200 and d700.
all files are .nef's. the files of the d700 open in all 3 options from LR3.
there are some photos from d200 that open with all 3 options as well, however i found that in another series of photos with the d200 when i open the nef, do changes, and hit save, it doesn't reimport, it puts it in the folder as .tiff but doens't bring it back into LR
i can import the .tiff  back into LR3 but once it's imported my only option is to open with LR changes.
This is a bit strange?? two different shooting sessions, all in .nef one opens and reimports as .tif and the others don't.
    thoughts?
