Image not appearing in saved PDF (Save As)

I've created a Word document with my company's logo image at the top, but when I save it as a PDF in Acrobat X the logo is not visable. The image is still there, however, it's replaced with just a box. Any suggestions?

Turn on view large images in the preferences. You might consider reducing the display resolution in the PDF creation tool to about 300 or 600 dpi (I use 300). The default is 1200. That might help.

I'm working in CS4. I never had this issue in the past, but now when I save files as PDFX1a some of my images do not appear when printing. I can see them in the PDF, but they print as a white silhouette. I did embed the images.

Images not appearing in exported PDF

I've created a document in InDesign CS5. When i export for PDF some images don't appear in the PDF. The images are either imported JPGs or shapes created in InDesign. Most of the images appear just some don't. I'm not aware of doing anything different in creating/importing these images.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Can anyone help me out?

That didn't work, but i copied images from other parts of my document that did work and pasted/resized to replace images that didn't import and that seemed to work.
still wish i could figure out why it happens in the first place so i don't have to do this other process.

Images not appearing when saving a Framemaker book to pdf

As a new user to Framemaker, I have had great success with these forums in the past. So, thank you.
First off, I am using Framemaker 12.
I have had no problems in the past, but now when I save a file to .pdf it will not produce all the images with it. I saved the same files two weeks ago before reviews began and nothing was missing then. I have not changed anything with the files between then and now besides some textual (i.e. grammar) changes.
Any suggestions?

Are you using the CMYK or RGB option? Use the RGB one, if you're not creating press-quality colour output.
What format are the images in? How were they created (i.e. which application)? Imported by reference or by copy?

Scroll bars are supposed to appear when needed.
For example, scroll bars will appear when you zoom in on a page.

Pictures not appearing on exported pdfs.

Hi,I am exporting reports in pdf format. I have a picture on the report in the report group header. I used the graphics picture to put the picture on the report. When the script runs and exports the report to pdf files, the picture is not appearing on the pdf files. Do anyone have any ideas?Thanks

There's an excellent post on Adobe's site that walks through the differences. It's at http://www.adobe.com/type/topics/info9.html
However, I believe the caveat about Open Type fonts refers to their extended character set capabilities. You can still see issues with any font that is probably tied to the design and metrics of that particular font. The best course of action is to see if a font will perform under the watermark feature. If so then you're all set. If not—try a different font.
All your fonts will appear in the dropdown menu. Adobe is most likely just calling on the OS to serve up its list of installed fonts. That shouldn't be relied upon as an endorsement that all of them will function properly in watermark. This is really more of a font issue than an Adobe issue. I have many fonts that just don't respond well in certain programs. And it varies by font and by program so its hard to blame the app more than the font.

"This operation is not permitted" when saving PDF through a plugin

Not sure what I am doing wrong. It appears as though I've followed the PDF Reference and documentation correctly, but I am getting this error when my plugin trys to save my PDF file to a new location (dont want to overwrite the original).
Here is the sample code. I hope what I am doing wrong is easy to fix.

Ahh the problem was that the file was secured with a password. The documentation mentions:
Known Exceptions
Raises
pdErrOpNotPermitted if saving is not permitted. Saving is permitted if either edit or editNotes (see PDPerms) is allowed, or you are doing a full save and saveAs is allowed.
So I looked for that exception in the docs and it said:
pdErrOpNotPermitted
This operation is not permitted. Acrobat
security does not allow content copying
or extraction. These operations should
be permitted when the document’s
master password is used.
So for anyone getting this error, try removing security from the file first.

LOGO image not appearing in infoview

Hi,
I am using web inteligence for my BO report creation.
I have saved my logo in the image folder (C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12\Images). I have used the logo in my WEBI report by using BOIMG:// and it is appearing correctly.
But when I exported the WEBI report to CMC and tried running the report using infoview the logo is not appearing. Only a blank cell appears.
If it is required to save the image on the server then please let me know the exact path for saving the image on the server.
Please let me know the correction required.

the path for image logo is .....\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewApp\res\schema.blue\
put the image file there and format should be *.gif.
after that go to CMC->manage->authentication->Infoview
open infoview properties then click display custom logo URL radio button and insert gif file that you put on path folder above.

Images not appearing in Nakisa Org Hierarchy or Position Hierarchy

Hi,
I have configured Nakisa Org Structure to show photos of a few employees. The photos have been saved in the images/Portraits folder and are of the same size as the rest of the photos in this area. I have also pointed Nakisa Images to this folder in the Application wide setting. Also, I have used the Details Designer in OrgChart--> Position and edited the Images section to point to EmpDetails2 --> Personnel Number. I have also ensured that the photos have been saved as Personnel Number.jpg. Also, in the Position Hierarchy, I have done a similar mapping.
However, the photos are still not appearing despite having published the Org Chart several times.
I would really aprpeciate a quick response from you.

Have you checked the XSL files that control the images? I believe they are EmployeePictureXSL.xsl and EmployeePictureCondensedXSL.xsl. You might need to amend them to fit your solution.

Partner selection pop-up not appearing while saving

HI Experts,
I have maintained partner determination procedure, based on this there is pop-up box triggered for selecting the partner for service team, but the same is not appearing when i change the determination time to "When saving" but the pop-up box is triggered when the determination time is "recurring", is there any ways we can trigger this pop-up box when i serach for the service team durring entry.

Images not appearing on slide

I am using Captivate 4, Windows XP.
For some time now I have been working, without any problems as foolows:
Taking screen shot using Snagit. Editing image and then saving to folder.
Adding the image to Captivate slide via the insert image option.
Suddenly today, after selecting required image and clicking on "insert" from within Captivate, the image does not appear on the slide.
However there is an "image" in the timeline, but if you right click on this.. and then go to "properties", nothing come up.
Attached is an example...there are no other images on the slide (header/footer is merged onto slide), so cannt be a case on image is "behind" something.
I have on-going problems with Captivate when connected to company network...very slow and most times I get message telling me Captivate is not responding...and I have to wait and wait until it kicks in to life. Could this be related?

I have (again) requested my IT dept to take a look at what is going on.
If they cannt/wont help, then I may well take up Rick's very kind offer.
The more I think about it, the more I believe my problem(s) stem from having to link up to Adobe when working on-line.
It takes about 30 seconds from the time I open the initial Captivate start screen (attached) before any of the links become active.
That strikes me as way too long and might be the cause of the problem.
Any idea if this "link to Adobe" can to turned off? What do I need the link for anyway...day to day?

Edited text not appearing in emailed .pdf documents

I use the typewriter tool to add text to an already existing .pdf document. When I save the document to a folder and reopen it, the text is visible. When I attach this document to email using Entourage, the text I edited is not visible. What am I doing wrong?

If you go into the pdf with acrobat professional (not available w/ reader) and open the forms editing menu and double click on the field that is not appearing you can check the settings (I think it is in general settings tab). One of the setting is to make the info typed into the field visible or not visible. It could be set to not visible.

Some images not showing up in PDFs

Are there particular limits on what types of images can be exported to PDF and still be viewed on a mobile device? I see several PDFs where I can view the images on a desktop monitor, but not in an iPod touch. We are trying quite a few iterations of exporting images to PDF and have had no luck figuring it out.

I had this problem too. I found the answer somewhere. I don't remember where, but the answer is this:
When exporting the PDF, the iPad doesn't support JPEG 2000 standard.-- the kind used in "smallest size PDF"
Use JPEG Lossy, and voila!
