Image not postioned correctly

I have 2 images inserted on either side of this portion of my site, but the image on the right side is showing up too low. I've inserted an image of this, because I'm not ready to upload the changes to my site yet. If you need to see the code, do I just copy it into TextEdit and attach it?
I've validated this file through validator.w3.org but it comes up with no errors.
Thank you for any assisstance, you've all been a huge help to this newbie!

  • JPG images not displayed correctly in Bridge and Photoshop (Mac OS)

    (Note: I have copied the content of this query from the Creative Suites forum where I originally opened it.)
    I am using CS4 under OSX 10.4.11 on a PowerMac G5 Quad with 23" Apple cinema display. Images which have been captured as JPG are displayed fine by Preview, but when opened in Bridge, Camera Raw or Photoshop. the colours are all "washed out". The attached screen capture should give an idea of the difference, with the upper being Camera Raw (image settings) and the lower being Preview. My monitor has been calibrated and I'm using sRGB IEC61966-2.1 colour space in Camera Raw and Photoshop. The colours displayed by Preview are pretty close to "real life". I find it virtually impossible to adjust the colours in Photoshop to get back to anything similar.
    After opening the image in Photoshop without adjustment, and Save As JPEG with embedded color profile, Preview displays the new image the same as Photoshop. Save As JPEG without embedded color profile, and Preview displays this copy just like the original. It seems that Photoshop is making different (incorrect) assumptions about what color space to use when there is no embedded color profile. Shouldn't it assume sRGB like virtually everything else (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRGB)? Or is its interpretation of sRGB incorrect? How can I fix this?

    …If there is someone out there who has experience of obtaining decent colour management in CS4 on a Power PC, I would really like to know how you achieved it.
    That would be yours truly, and I hasten to reply because I may have some insights that can help you too.
    Just get it it out of the way, here's my setup:
    Photoshop 11.0.2 ("CS4"); VersionCue disabled and uninstalled.—2.5 GHz Power Mac (PPC) G5-Quad; 16GB RAM; mutant, flashed 550MHz nVidia GeForce 7800GTX 1,700MHz 512MB VRAM; ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D LP SCSI card; Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.8 boot drives; Spotblight, Dashboard and Time Machine permanently disabled; dual 22" CRT monitors; USB wireless 'n' available but connected to the Internet via wired Ethernet; 1 FW flatbed scanner; 2 SCSI scanners (one tabloid-size transparency scanner and a film scanner); various internal & external HDs; FW Epson 2200 and Ethernet Samsung ML-2850ND printers; 2 X Back-UPS RS 1500 XS units.
    I can unambiguously and in good faith represent to you that my color management, from capture to print, is as spot-on as anyone with any kind of setup can hope to achieve.  Unequivocally and without qualifications.
    Now, first things first:  Forget about trying to synchronize color management across the point applications lumped together only by Adobe marketing fiat into a variety of meaningless "creative suites".  Concentrate on Photoshop.  Do not try to use Bridge to synchronize anything.
    The "suites" are a totally artificial construct created by Adobe bean counters and marketing types.  The point applications (i.e. the individual programs clumsily bundled together, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) are developed independently by separate engineering teams that are not only not in the same building, but in different cities, different states of the American Union, and even in different countries.  They have very little communication among them, if any, as evidenced by repeated posts in these forums by Photoshop engineering staff urging us, the end users, to let the other teams know in their own forums that a given problem exists and is actually affecting our work.
    Enough said about the cause of the problem.  The end result is that Color Management is at very, very different levels of progress and sophistication in each individual point application, with only Photoshop fully entitled to be considered state of the art.
    Secondly, a disclaimer:  I have been hanging on to my CRT monitors and take care of them as Jascha Heifetz used to take care of his Stradivarius.  I don't know what I will do if I manage to outlive the usefulness and accuracy of my CRTs (unlikely at this point).  I have despaired in futile efforts to bring the luminosity of any LCD monitor down to where I would feel comfortable calibrating and profiling it.  I believe my monitors are the foundation of my color management efforts.
    Especially if you have one of the extreme wide-gamut LCD or LED monitors, you'll face an uphill battle.
    Be careful to avoid any version 4 icc profiles, whether canned or generated by your calibration software.  Stick to version2 icc profiles.  Ask the manufacturer of your calibration software/hardware if in doubt.
    Here are some not-too-recent, but thoroughly representative screen shots of the calibration results I obtain with my monitors, which I calibrate and profile often and regularly (I validate the calibration at least several times per month).
    In a nutshell, my color management practices and settings mirror those described by Bruce Fraser, Jeff Schewe, Andrew Rodney and Gary Ballard's site.  I have learned from all of them.
    My working color space is ProPhoto RGB.  I choose to work with PSD and PSB files.  As a long-time, rabid JPEG hater, I only rarely deal with JPEGs, using them sporadically to illustrate a point in this forum or elsewhere in the web.  My main output consists of prints.
    I only deal with tagged image files (files with an embedded color profile) and often recommend beating up with a baseball bat any moron that hands you an untagged file—figuratively of course, but I find the expression gets my point across unambiguously.
    Following is a screen shot of some of my pertinent settings:
    Note that I have never bought into the "suite" concept myself.  I do have and routinely use Adobe Illustrator 10.x, InDesign 2.x and Acrobat Professional 8.x, but they are all older, independent versions of each point application, licensed at different times.
    Be further advised, that the answer to many problems offered by Adobe engineers often is not to install VersionCue, or uninstall it, or at least disable it.
    Also, as outlined at the beginning of this post, concentrate on Photoshop, not on synchronizing applications that can't really communicate with each other, despite the claims of Adobe marketing hacks to the contrary.
    One big caveat, do not fall into this trap:

  • Image not displayed correctly in image control at small zoom level

    I am displaying an image in an image control with a zoom factor of ~0.015 and it appears as shown in image 1.jpg.  When I zoom in a little more to ~0.016 the image is displayed correctly as shown in image 2.jpg.  Both images are attached.
    Why is the image displayed as a "grey strip" in the first image?  What do I need to do to have the image displayed correctly at any zoom factor?  I am using LV 2011 with the associated vision development module on Windows 7.

    Hi Jonathan,
    Did you try resizing your image dimensions, as I suggested in my previous post? Anti-aliasing is an expected behavior; as you zoom out, the image has to be resampled in order to be displayed properly. At some point, LabVIEW assumes that the image has been resampled to the point where it no longer resembles the initial image, and so it greys the image out. In the case of your image, that is not the case. As I said, I believe an acceptable workaround would be to use IMAQ resample to half or quarter the pixel dimensions of your image, at which point it should be able to be displayed at a higher zoom factor.

  • Gray image not shown correctly in photo app

    Hi, in my iphone App, I create a Gray CGImage. Some code is here:
    colorSpace = CGColorSpaceCreateDeviceGray();
    if (colorSpace == NULL)
    fprintf(stderr, "Error allocating color space\n");
    return NULL;
    CGDataProviderRef dataProvider =
    CGDataProviderCreateWithData(NULL,
    myimagebuffer,
    bitmapByteCount,
    NULL);
    CGImageRef cgImage = CGImageCreate(col,
    row,
    8,
    8,
    col,
    colorSpace,
    kCGImageAlphaNone,
    dataProvider,
    NULL,
    false,
    kCGRenderingIntentDefault);
    And then I use this CGImage to make a UIImage. This image shows OK in UIImageView. I also use UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum to save this gray scale image to photo album. But when I open iphone native Photo app, this image is not shown correctly.
    Anyone has the same experience?
    Thanks,

    Because I am sure other people will encounter this issue, I will post the solution here...The issue lies in what program is associated with .bmp files. In my specific case the customer had PhotoSuite 4 by Roxio associated with opening bmp files.  I am not sure exactly why (perhaps it doesn't support drag-and-drop?) but if you create a .reg file and import this it should fix the problem. • Images Not Appearing Correctly

    I am curious to know why with an e-mail message that contains images, Mail displays questions marks occasionally where the images ought to appear, but on other occasions when I open Mail, the images in the same e-mail are rendered correctly. Other e-mail with embedded pictures or graphics are showing up correctly consistently.
    I get the same problem whether I use Mail on the Desktop or with Webmail.
    Any ideas why the e-mail in question displays properly once and not the next time?
    When I click to have it be displayed as a web-page, the images in the e-mail download correctly.
    Thanks in advance,
    John

    Thanks. As all other e-newsletters I have recently received display their photos and other graphics flawlessly, I am inclined to think that as you say, the problem lies in the e-mail message itself and not my settings. I am hesitant to put in the DNS test numbers you supply as they are of course different from the primary and secondary DNS servers my ISP uses. I'm a bit nervous of causing a bigger problem then I am able to manage. In fact I haven't even added my own ISP's numbers into my Network settings. As it's an optional setting, I have left it blank. Perhaps I'll give them a call, and see what it is suggested.

  • Why are my rollover images not appearing correctly in my browser?

    I have created rollover images for some of my site navigation, and when I view it in my browser, they are not in the correct place on the page. When I click on each rollover, it eventually goes to the right place when I return to that page, but I must do this to all rollover navigation buttons in order for them to show up in the correct place. The links work fine. I am relatively new to this, so not sure if I am providing all the correct info here. My site is www.pfeiferdesign.com. I am using DW CS4. Would appreciate any suggestions!! Thanks

    Where is it you want the navigation to appear?
    Try this CSS -
    #mainnav {
    clear: both;
    display: block;
    float:right;
    margin-right:50px;
    margin-top:25px;
    overflow:hidden;
    padding:0;
    width:350px;
    Is that anywhere close?

  • Images not loaded correctly

    <i>Locking duplicate thread.<br>Please continue here: [[/questions/1056930]]</i>
    Dear reader,
    Since a week my firefox experiences strange image loading behavior. The problem is seen on various pages, in particular when there are more images/pictures shown (e.g. youtube). The problem does not happen with other browsers.
    The problem is this: All images are shown, but the images are mixed up. For example, images A,B,C,D should have been loaded. Instead images B,B,E,E,E are shown. When I hover over the images, the correct images are loaded. See attached picture: The top row is just after loading. The bottom row is shown after I have hover all images.
    As you can image, this is extremely annoying. I have to read the text and/or hover all images to make a choice or understand what an item is all about.
    I have tried the following with no success:
    - Cleared cache
    - Cleared all (cookies, history, cache, etc.)
    - Refreshed my profile
    - Created new profile
    - Reinstalled firefox
    - Disabled all add-ons
    The only thing that I haven't done, but which could solve the problem is updating my video card drivers. I have an old card (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 275). The reason that I don't upgrade is that new NVIDIA drives cause (hard reset) crashes all the time. Also, any other browser works normally.
    Thanks for any tips/advice you might give me.
    Regards,
    Eyestolks.

  • Image not displaying correctly Photoshop CS5 Extended V 12.1. (Same file OK in PS Elements)

    I am having a problem with Photoshop CS5 Extended V 12.1.
    The problem:
    When I open some files, some shades of BLUE colour is displayed as BLACK
    However the same file  opens and displays correctly if I open it using Photoshop Elements V9.0.3.
    When I save the file as JPEG and re-open it, the problem returns.
    Opening the JPEG file in any other application, including PS Elements, does not cause the problem
    Source of files
    The original files came from a Nikon camera, saved in RAW format. It is possible that the original files were corrupted in some way as the shots had an unusual blue cast - which was easily resolved by Photoshop when I originally opened the RAW files. However, I'm not sure.
    The problem is not universal as I've not been able to reproduce it with any other files (RAW or JPEG).
    I have calibrated my monitor display settings sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (default)
    Other information:

    Free memory: 5089 MB
    Memory available to Photoshop: 7147 MB
    Memory used by Photoshop: 60 %
    Image tile size: 128K

    Thank you for yur reply, Curt. Yes, I do have the original RAW file. When I open it in PSE and PS, the colours appear correctly AT FIRST as shown here:
    However, when I select "Open Image", it appears as here:
    You will see that the blues in the lady's scarf and the wolly hat of a man in the forground are appearing as black. However, when the file is saved as JPEG or PNG and printed or viewed using PSE or Pait, or any other medium (even Premiere Elements), the colurs arer fine.
    However, the same process when followed in PSE, does not result in the same outcome. The image displays correctly.

  • Flash images not displaying correctly

    Hi there,
    First post here, but could really us the help.
    I'm looking after this site:  http://theacademy.me/index.htm
    The previous web developer set up a swfobject image rotator which didn't work before I got here. I wanted to get it working, but now the images display incorrectly in Firefox 8 and Safari 5.1.2. IE and Chrome are fine.
    What i did:
    1. Commented out this in index page to tidy it up (the file it points to doesn't exist)
    <script src="scripts/swfobject_modified.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    2. image rotator then displayed as it does now in Safari and Firefox
    3. Un- commented the code
    4. Image rotator still displaying incorrectly
    5. restored index page to the last known good version, when it did display correctly
    6. Image rotator still displaying incorrectly
    SWfobject version is 1.5 I believe.
    Also, the slideshow works fine on the local copy, but not live.
    Any help would be great- please bear in mind I'm not a Flash guru- this is burning up a lot of time and I could do with some fresh eyes on the problem.
    Thanks!

    Hi Ned,
    Thanks a lot for posting- I've been spending a lot of time checking every angle. I've managed to use the latest swfobject code as suggested to embed the video.
    It's an improvement- the video now works on the live site in IE, but still doesn't play in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. It seems as if the browsers are rendering the final picture in the rotator gallery outside of the frame.

  • T400 Images Not Displaying Correctly On External Monitor

    One of our users has a T400 laptop (6475-FM4) with Windows XP Professional installed on it.  He has an external monitor that he has plugged in to his laptop which he is using to extend his desktop.
    If you open up a document (say Word or Excel) that contains images and view it on the laptops screen you can scroll up and down the document and the images are displayed OK.
    If you open the document on the external screen then the images are displayed when you first open it, but as soon as you scroll up or down all you can see are the place holders for the images.  If you move the document back to the built-in screen they display correctly.
    What have I done so far?
    I have updated the Chipset drivers and the actual Graphics/Video drivers and the issue is still the same.
    I have tried turning down the Hardware Acceleration but that did not resolve the problem.
    I've made sure that the Field codes option in Word is not ticked (suggestion found via Google)
    I've made sure that the Picture placeholders option is not ticked in Word (again found on Google)
    I've searched the internet for other possible solutions and can not find any.
    HELP!

    one more point to add...i installed windows using bootcamp, and through windows the 2560X1440 resolution works. so its not a hardware problem either

  • Images Not Updating Correctly

    Hi,
    So, I have 12 images that appear on across approximately 500 pages.  I created these images in PSD and are saved as .png.  I decided the size of the images were not to my liking, so, I edited them to my liking.  I figured I'd just add the updated images to my folder in Dreamweaver and it would update automatically.  Well, to an extent, it did.  It took the updated images which are now a smaller size than the original and stretched it to the size of the original.  Clicking refresh does not get it to the correct size.  Live view also shows the stretched image. Restarting Dreamweaver also does not solve the issue.  The only way I've found to get it to the correct size is to click on each image and then click the refresh button in the properties panel next to height and width.  It wouldn't be a big deal if it was only a few of them, but in my situation I've got roughly 6000 images I'd have to individually refresh.  So, is there an easier way to get all the images to refresh at once?
    Thanks

    Global search for image name including old size
    and replace with image name including new size
    Do it for all 12 images

    Hi Jim,
    We really apologize for all the inconvenience which has caused you.
    While you are trying to apply the auto sync on couple of images can you try to make sure that the images are not stacked.
    Also there hadnt been any issues reported so far on this and whatever issues I have seen have been reported were that the sync requires some time to apply on number of images and the customer doesnt wait for that much
    In the meanwhile if these steps doesnt resolve your issues you can contact Adobe support by following the link below:
