I have WOWslider jquery image slideshow software which produces an HTLM file for its slider. Taking the code that it produces is it possible to put that into an arbitrary HTML box and edit it to work.
I see some references to it in other software as needing some work to get it to run in much the same way as would appear to be the case here.
The pitch around the software makes it appear a case of simply copy and paste. I see above where you say future versions will make it easier to use JS with Muse, but for the moment is there a workaround or hints how to go about it?

No, you can't and it kinda defeats the purpose of Muse altogether. Thats like saying, "Can I use Muse to create vector graphics for designing logos?" Or, even simpler " Can I use this hammer to unscrew this picture hook in my wall?"
Muse would import that AI file as an image only. So, you would have one big picture and no functionality to any buttons, menus etc.
I would suggest that you try downloading the trial version of Muse. If you could/would design a site in AI ( despite it being an unsuitable tool ) you will find Muse just as easy to use. If you are proficiant in Illustrator or InDesign, Muse's interface is very familiar and uses similar techniques.

Embed video into another site??

I have just finished creating a website in iweb, and published it to a folder. I am clueless when it come to html or web coding. So my question is, is there any way I can get an embed code to post my video from my site into another site?

The only way I've found to link to a movie file I've used in a site is to use the following URL:
http://web.me.com/MMeAccount_Name/Site_Name/Media/movie_filename.mov

Another site and no image transition and error message

Here is another site that I'm having a similar issue. Except this one never worked while in Dreamweaver Live view and is not working at this link http://www.cfour11.com/
I have the following code to run the script and there is no duplicate body tag. This page is simply a place holder until the site goes live but the client has images with statements that they want to use to create interest the site is ready to launch. In addition on the bottom left hand corner of the browser it say Done but has the following error message

It looks like your priorities are all wrong.
You might want to clean up all those garbage spacer images and the table layout. Could be something going wrong in that mess. You might also want to clean up all the depricated style markup in your html file since you're using a css file. I would work on cleaning up your work before trying to mess with adding a slideshow behavior since behaviors can be more difficult if you're working with automatically generated markup.
By the way, you're referencing the DOM incorrectly. That's most likely what's causing your SlideShow to break.
document.images.SlideShow
doesn't point at anything in your html file.

Download MUSE site from web and back into Muse?

I messed up my MUSE site on my computer. A clean copy is on the web site online.
I tried to download that clean copy to a new directory, but MUSE will not open it.

Is there a way to embed a business catalyst ecommerce site into another site?

If I build an ecommerce site in business catalyst, can I embed it into another site? For example if I already have a public site (using Adobe CQ), can I embed a Business Catalyst site into my Adobe CQ webpage to function as the ecommerce portion of my Adobe CQ site? Yes you could do it with the API, but it would an epic programming adventure to get it going, as far I know no one else is doing it. It would be extremely slow to use the API in realtime (ie get the contents from the API every page request as the API is slow and times out certain parts of the day sometimes) so you would have to sync your data between the sites. You would also have to work out shipping externally because you can't get any sort of shipping information from the API (as far as I know)
An easier way would be to setup a reverse proxy to your BC site, the only issue with that is that when you start to hit HTTPs pages on checkout you wont be able to proxy them (securely) unless you get your own certificate for the site you are proxying from. I have done this for other sites before but not BC, in theory it should work because BC allows any domain and they shouldn't be any sort of domain / RDNS security checks.

You would need to create a Manual menu in order to be able to link the menu items to external links.
Alternatively, if you'd like to keep the Horizontal/Vertical menu because of their ability to populate page names and links based on site structure, you can try overlapping one of the menu items with an empty text frame and link the overlapped text frame to an external URL. You might consider grouping the text frame with the menu as well in order to be able to easily move it around.

Matching Image Colours with Site Colours

I would like to match the colour of an image to the site corporate colours. If you see this logo - http://www.portfoliohealth.co.uk/ - you can see that the pastel green colour (#CDE8D9) on the far left of the the graduated image is different to the main colour in the 'p' logo opn the right.
Any idea on mathing these exactly (or as near as)?

Have you tried the Eye Dropper tool over the area?
It kind of difficult to determine which green is the color your looking for since there appears to be an oval in the middle.
Another idea to help pinpoint a color is to draw a Export Area JUST around the 'green' rounded logo. Double click it once drawn and it will take you to the Export dialog. Chnage the output to Gif /256 colors and you can see the exact green color variants in that area. To the right of the Gif, there's a Options icon, click that and from the list choose Sort by Luminance. You can then get a better idea of the darkest to lightest greens. Mouseover/click anyone of them and the rgb/hex shows up. Copy down the ones you need.
You can also choose Save > Save Palette (.act) from the Same Option context list, and load it directly into the Window > Swatches > Panel Options (Add Swatches (.act) command). This way you can interact with the Swatches Panel and you recreated logo.

How to send data to another site, get response, redirect and get new response

The protocol require to send a POST string containing some information (including an error and response page) to an external host, get the response and redirect the user to another host using the previous response. When the user ends the transaction the host redirect the user to my error or response page.

The previous code works fine. I receive the response. But now I don't know how to continue. How can redirect the user to another site, and when the payment is finished, receive the response? Another question is, the user authenticate himself to access to the application. When the user will redirect to an external site, the glassfish session permits to get the response from the other host without require a new authentication?
For the moment I don't know how to redirect the user, but I tried to write this method to obtain the last response:

A window to another site?

hi, im trying to make a window in an applet, display content of another site, a bit like if i was using <iFrame> in html.
now the thing is i have no idea what-so-ever how to do this, i tried with JEditorPane, but that cant read Java, javascript, ect.
i was wondering if anyone knew how to do this? an object ect.

imagen i have an applet with an IRC client, and some other stuff. insted of seperating the applet, into 2 deffirent applets, (i would have to do that, in order to fit the window in the right place) i could just have it as 1 big.
this might give an idea of how it would be displayed with <iFrame>

Migrating Oracle 10.2.0.4 to another site

Hi Gurus,
I´ll need to migrate an ORACLE Database to Another site (1000 miles away) and i need to know, what's the best practice to do that.
I need to copy the entire database to a new server whith the minimum downtime and risk while the source database is open (if possible).
Source server and target are the same:
AIX 6.1 on Power 780.
Between the servers we have a 100mb network link
Database 10.2.0.4 - Single Instance
I have two options in my mind:
1) MIGRATE only the disks and mount them in the target server.
For me it's the easiest way, but i am afraid of the downtime, because the database have 1Tb and it's going to take some time to transfer it.
2) Use DUPLICATE DATABASE whith compressed backup. (Doubt)
My database is archivelog and i want to backup the database and it's archivelogs and execute the duplicate command.
My question is: After RMAN restore the backup and apply the archived log files who were backed up, does it apply the recent changes on database who weren't backed up?

If you are like many sites, the compressed backup will be about a tenth the size of the db. So how long to transport 100G over 100mb link? About 12M/second is the best you could hope (depending on what else is between), so consider a minimum of 3 hours, and it could be ten times that. You'll need to test to find out. Another possibility is to cold copy onto a $500 2T usb drive and ship it over. You could also use rman that way, but you have to be careful to have the identical directory structure to put the backup sets into (if I'm not forgetting about some new feature, it's been a while since I've lacked network speed while doing this).
There's also a "dribble it over" way if you have time, take whatever time it takes to network the files over and setup a standby, then however much time it takes to catch the logs up, then a brief outage to switch. Depends on your uptime requirements.

Hi Everyone,
It would be great if you can help me with the below.
Few days ago one of our content db went into suspect mode. Our DB team had resolved the issue. But one of the sites that was created probably around the same time is no more available. When I try to create a site on the same URL, I get the following
error.
Another site already exists at <URL>. Delete this site before attempting to create a new site with the same URL
When I try to delete the site or if I try to view the details of the site using Central Administration, I can find the site, but it doesn't display any details like Title, DB Name etc.
If I use stsad -o enumsites command to list ll the site, for the given site I get the following error:
<nativehr>0x80070002</nativehr><nativestack></nativestack>There is no Web named <URL>.
I am not even able to delete it using Powershell.
Please suggest.

You might be dealing with orphaned site. Go through the following blog post and see if it helps you delete the orphaned sites.
