  • How can I create a one image per page caption sheet that includes the description in Bridge?

I am trying to find a way to create a one-image-per-page caption sheet for my workflow. I currently place each image into Word and copy the description onto the document, then repeat for each image. I am hoping that there is a way to automate this process using Bridge. I know that it can be done using Lightroom, however, that is not currently an option for me. Is this something that can be done or am I bound, like Sisyphus to Microsoft Word? I have a very limited grasp of scripting, but I feel like this is possible.
    Thanks for any help.

To create a NetBoot image, you could just put the cluster node in target mode and attach it to your PowerBook. Then use SIU to create the NetBoot image.
If you're trying to create a backup image of the disk, use hdiutil, or put in in target mode and create the image with Disk Utility.

  • How can i add an image to a caption in a slideshow?

So i have a slideshow with 3 images and 3 captions. i want to add a different image in each caption. how can i do this? thanks.

    Helo,
In order to do this, first place the image anywhere on the page, size it according to the requirement.
Then select the image nad cut it (Edit>Cut). Now double click on the Caption container and once you see a blinking cursor in it (to enter a text) paste the image there.
You get to other images/Captions by clicking in next button and repeat the process to add images in other captions.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there a way to create a CSS image gallery with caption?

    Hi everyone,
Ive been using the disjoint rollover, but I only have one
thing that I want to add to it—a caption right underneath an
    image.
Besides using that Project Seven plug-in, is there a way to
create an image gallery without using layers? Or is layers the only
way to do it? All I want (words of doom, huh?) is a thumbnail to be
able to switch and image and add a caption to it. Can anyone point
me in the right direction? Or is that Project Seven plug-in deal my
best bet? What about Set Text of Layer in DW.
Oh yeah, Im still using DW with CSS sprinkled in..any help?
    Thanks in advance.

    Of course.
    > What about Set Text of Layer in DW.
That would do it, and it's not necessary that the layer stay
    a layer after
you have done it, either. I do this frequently - make a
    layer, apply the
behavior, and then remove the position:absolute from the div,
    and place it
    where I want it.

  • Slideshow: show image description in caption?

    Hi All,
is there a way to include an image-description trough Meta-Data when using the Slideshow-Feature and showing "full" captions?
I tried entering all sorts of descriptions through File-Info but nothing of that appears in the caption. Did I miss something obvious
or is giving the file a descriptive name the only way there is?
    Thanks for all input!

Full captions in slideshow options will cause the slide show to display the one to four lines you have set to display under the thumbnails in Content.  So you'd want to include 'Description' in one of your Additional Lines of Thumbnail Metadata (Edit > Preferences > Thumbnails) then put desired caption text for each image in File Info - in the File Info Description block (under Author Title).

  • Facebook. Image size and caption?

    hello all.
    questions.
when I upload images to Facebook via the Aperture built-in Web albums, are the images resized? to what size?
when I upload images to Facebook, my captions are not transferred to the image Description in Facebook. does the transfer use the Caption field, or another metadata field?
    cheers,
    Gregory

    I've done some testing.
if images are uploaded to the Facebook Wall, the Comments field that Aperture presents before uploading the image becomes the Description field on Facebook.
however, if the images are uploaded to a known Facebook Album, the Version Name becomes the Description.
both of these situations are not logical. in the case of uploading to the Wall, 'Comments' should probably be 'Description'. I'll report them to Apple's bugreport.
images seem to be scaled down to fit within 2048x2048 pixels.

  • Need help [JS]: select images/captions in InD, switch to Bridge and write to XMP

I've got a javascript for CS3/Tiger that I'm writing that eventually will let a user select an image and a caption in InDesign, then tells bridge to write the caption data into the image metadata. I need help - the script works in pieces, but not when put together.
It's built as an indesign script, then follows the procedure to create a script object to send to bridge. When it runs, the indesign portion works fine, but nothing happens in bridge.
The script is below, with comments.
    Can someone help!? Thanks.
// This is the InDesign portion of the script, which was tested separately and is working fine. Right now, for testing purposes, the data from this portion isn't even used by the later Bridge portion but once I get the bridge part together, it will use those variables.
    #target "indesign-5.0"
    var myObjectList = new Array;
//Script does nothing if no documents are open or if no objects are selected.
    if(app.documents.length != 0){
    if(app.selection.length != 0){
    for(myCounter = 0; myCounter < app.selection.length; myCounter ++){

    $.writeln(myCaption);

    var myLink = app.selection[myCounter].graphics[0].itemLink.filePath;

// the script itself is almost completely a lifted from the SnpModifyMetadta sample from the Bridge sdk
// it basically finds a certain image file and modifies the description metatata. i hardcoded the caption text and image path just for testing- eventually i would like it to use the variables from indesign.
// this script works fine as-is when run in the original Bridge scripting context.
// the method here of concatenating and sending the myScript string works fine when i use a different (smaller) script. so i can't tell why it's not working!?

Recently I received an e-mail from a user asking me to remake the script I had posted here a while ago.
I rechecked my previous post and found a couple of serious mistakes. So I revised it according to what he asked. Each page in his InDesign document contains one image and one text frame with description.
At start the script checks the selection. If nothing is selected it processes all pages in the document. In case two objects are selected – it checks whether one of them text frame and the other a rectangle and if the rectangle contains an image, then it reads the contents of the text frame, replacing hard and soft returns with spaces and writes this text to the corresponding image’s description field.
In the end, it updates all links and saves the file.
The script works both on Mac and PC, assuming that CS3 installed in the default location so long as it depends on libraries:
    /C/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Bridge CS3/AdobeXMPScript.dll (on PC)
    /Applications/Adobe Bridge CS3/Bridge CS3.app/Contents/MacOS/AdobeXMPScript.framework (on MAC)
So, if necessary, correct these lines.
Here is my script in case somebody is interested:
    #target indesign
    var myDoc = app.activeDocument;
    var mySelection = app.selection;
    if (mySelection.length == 0) {

  • Rollover Images and Captions

Can anyone give me a short, step by step way to
create rollover images with captions. I couldn't manage to get that
done, and when I read the Help screens within the application, it
    didn't help either.
In particular, here was the problem: I was in Storyboard with
the slide highlighted that I wanted to add the rollover image and
caption. When I went up to the Insert drop-down menu and clicked on
Rollover Images, there were no images; I was simply taken to My
    Documents.
I hope somebody can help. I've spent more than 4 hours trying
make this work. I'm SURE it's some little detail that I've failed
    to pay attention to.
    THANK YOU!
    Dean

    Hi Dean,
The "little detail that (you) failed to pay attention to" is
just that. In order to insert an image, you have to select the
image to insert. Use Windows Explorer (from \\My Documents\) to
navigate to \\My Documents\My Pictures\ or whereever else you keep
the image you wish to insert, and select it. Understand, it is up
to you to provide the image . . . it's not like you are selecting
from Captivate's own image gallery (though that is a cool idea, now
that I think of it - LOL!)
Your question indicates to me there might be some confusion
about what you want. You said you want "rollover images with
captions". There are rollover images which are just images to which
a mouseover action has been applied, and there are rollover
captions which are just normal captions to which a mouseover action
has been applied ... but there are no rollover images
with captions. The only way to have a rollover display a
caption is to create it yourself. And the "step-by-step" for doing
that is totally dependent on which image editor you are using
(Photoshop, Paintshop Pro, Paint, etc.). But the gist of it is
    below.
    1) Open the image in your image editor - or create it there
    2) Expand the canvas to create extra "blank" space on the
    image (for the caption)
    3) Use the "Text" tool to create your caption text and add it
    to that blank space.
    4) Save the image - BMP format works very well, but any
    format supported by Captivate.
    5) Close the image editor
    6) Open or switch to Captivate and the slide on which you
    want to place it.
    7) Select "Insert > Rollover Image"
    8) Select the image (with its included caption)
    9) Set its attributes and position it on the slide.
Hope this helps. The reason you wont' find this in the "Help"
files is because it is a creative use of images that is not a
supported function of Captivate itself. If you would like to see
future versions of Captivate support the creation of
images-with-captions, the way to do it is to submit it as a feature
request. The form to do that
    is
    located at this link
    Hope this helps.

  • Text Alignment - Image Captions

I am trying to set up a wiki page with various images, and wanted to provide each image with a caption (displayed underneath). What is the best way to achieve this? I haven't seen any options for text alignment in the wiki, and it strips my CSS attributes out.
    Ideas?

I have been able to solve this in the following manner:
    1) Switch to code view by clicking on the "" button.
    2) Add your image that will have a cation using the following syntax:
The longdesc attribute will be used as the target location in case you want to link it (I haven't yet figured out how to make the link work in the same browser without opening a new window).
The key here was to use the thumbnail class.
Any other thoughts or insights that you may have related to this?
    Thanks!

  • Is it possible to place images within Muse slideshow captions?

I want to caption some headshots- in a slideshow - with a bit of written blurb, plus logo images for the companies they've worked for.
    Thank you!

You should be able to add images to a slideshow's caption just like you would wrap text around an image in a text frame as described here - http://www.adobekb.com/typography_pt3.html.
As soon you place an image within the caption, you would notice that it would be placed as an Inline element and the Wrap panel would be activated in order to move the image around the text.

  • Better SOP for images with image captions?

    Hi,
    FM 8.04, Win XP.
When I work with images that shall have image captions, I use a pre-defined one row, one column table format that has a a table caption set to below. I then import the image into the one cell.
However, in some cases I would like images be anchored at bottom of columns, rather than at top of columns (or floating). The thing is that since the anchored frame sits inside a table cell, it is the table's placement that I must change. And tables do not have the "At bottom of column" option.
Any suggestion for a better standard of procedure for "At bottom of column" images, with retained caption functionality?
    TIA,
    /Mats

    Mats,
You could always just use only anchored frames and add an additional
text frame to the anchored frame in the proper location relative to
the inserted graphic. Since the anchored frame is part of the flow,
the included text frames in these behave correctly with respect to
autonumbering and being picked up in the proper in generated lists.
If you create the styled anchored on a Reference page (in a text frame
of course) then you can quickly get at the proper "template" of what
you need using copy & paste.

  • Captions on images (Bug?)

I have created a DVD of different slideshows from a trip to the UK. I have a section for Wales, Ireland, England, etc.
Here's the problem: Each section's pictures have titles/comments. I created a new section called Highlights which just show all the best photos together. I don't want these to have titles/comments, and I turned it OFF in the settings. When I preview it they are okay (no titles/comments). When I burn it, the titles/comments are there!
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible to file a bug report?

Well, here's what I think is happening. An earlier slideshow has captions. iDVD renders the image *with the caption*. When the next slideshow comes up, it has the same image. So iDVD uses the pre-rendered image, even though this new slideshow should not have captions.
When I watched the entire screwed-up slideshow, a few of the images were not used in other slideshows, so they did not have captions, and therefore were rendered correctly.
I worked around it by making copies of the images, renaming them, then re-importing them into iDVD. This took awhile. The problem remains, and it is a bug. I am filing a bug report with Apple.
Has anyone else had this problem?

  • View Option to see small image with caption

It would be nice to see an option where the thumbnail is on the left and a caption or other info is listed to the right. IView has this option. It would make it much easier to see what images are fully captioned and which ones are not. I believe IView calls it List Mode.

Don: your method works fine, but usually we need to see captions around to feel conext.
I use other workaround: I changed bottom label (in View options -> Compact Cell Extras) from default "Rating" to "Caption".
Rating is still visible in filmstrip, and can be changed by keyboard or in metadata view. (What is good. I hate active badges in grid - always hit them by accident when browsing library)

  • HOW can I get my iTunes Libray MAIN WINDOW to show in LIST form (like before). NOW only shows an IMAGE GRID. HATE it. HELP please! THANKS!!

For the last 2 (maybe 3) updates iTunes has been showing my MUSIC LIBARY in a GRID of IMAGES with small caption below each image (usually an empty grey box, but occasionally tje front cover of album). It is a BIG waste of time to look at, go through and find any of my many hundreds of items.
I want / NEED "LIST VIEW" (or whatever it is called) back.
I have looked in SUPPORT / iTunes HELP / Preferences / ALL my menus - for ANY info on getting my LIST VIEW back.
Somebody PLEASE share with me HOW to get a LIST VIEW in the iTunes MAIN WINDOW (NOT the sidebar ...which is in a nice LIST foerm still thank God).
Going out of my mind on this one - and wasting LOTS of time, going through it.
Sure it's ALPHABETICAL (in an arbitrary fashion), but do they REALLY expect me to "REMEMBER" - or already know my choice - of what I am" looking for"?? Come on! I open iTunes, SEARCH through my (where'd it GO?) list and choose something that feels right for the moment. Most people do.
This IMAGE GRID just throws unnecessary obstruction into the experience and takes massive amounts of time to arrive at a selection (especially if it is not one of my first 40 albums (less than 10% of my libary). I want it gone - and a simple LIST VIEW back. ANY help VASTLY appreciated.

  • How do you create simple captions?

I've just been reading tutorials on how to create static and live captions based on metadata in CS5.5. This is more complicated than what I want to do.
I just want to select an image, write a caption specifically for that image, and have it appear below the image. Is that possible?

Sure. Just add a text frame, type your caption, and, if you like, group with the image. Completely static.
