Image opens with reddish tinge

When I open one particular image in photoshop CS3 the thumb in the Open menu looks correct, but the image opens with a reddish tinge over the whole thing. If I then double-click the image layer in the Layers window, the Layer Style menu pops up, the tinge removes itself and the image looks as it should. None of the other images I've been working on have this happening.
Does anyone know what's up here. This is a .psd file with no layers above the image layer.

Photoshop-When opening image without tab view, image opens with only a portion in view

I having an issue with CC.
When electing in the preferences to not open image in Tabs. The images open with only about 25% of the image area showing. Forcing me to (command) 0 for full to screen preview or (command) +/- to see the image.
I am not talking about seeing the image at 100% resolution just the entire image within the floating window without having to command before view.
Sidenote: Adobe Customer Service is all based in India. I spent 4 hours on the phone only to hear that this is that way photoshop works.
There would be no logical explanation for this. Since the first version of Photoshop this has not been the case.
I think this should be called view porn with wife in the room mode. Other than that I see no point.

PDF's with images open with dark (mask) overlay..not true in Explorer...how to change setting?

When browsing in Firefox, some links to PDF's that I open, those with images, open with a dark mask overlay. I have have searched around in the VIEW menu with no luck. This does not happen when I open the same PDF links in Windows Explorer so it must be Firefox setting that I need to change. By the way, I have Adobe Creative Suite 4 installed on my computer.

Dreamweaver MX image "open with FW" option opens FWMX want to change this to FWMX2004

I have the old Studio MX (FW, DW etc), and I also have a copy of fireworks 2004,
When i am using dreamweaver MX and want to edit an image on a site and i double click on the image it opens fireworks MX, i want it to open Fireworks MX 2004, now i can get it to open in Fireworks MX2004 by right clicking on the image and selecting "open with" and then navigating to the fireworks MX2004 folder to open it, which is a bit of a hassle,
Is there someway to get it to open in Fireworks MX 2004 when double clicking?
Obviously i can't afford to upgrade to the newer versions of either programs, (although i will accept donations ), and I would prefer to keep fireworks MX on the machine as back-up just in case mx2004 goes pear shaped.

In Dreamweaver, go to Edit > Preferences > File Types / Editors and edit filetypes that you would like to be opened / edited with Fireworks MX 2004. There are a lot of options available there, and this should do the trick.
There's even an option to specify the path to Fireworks, like:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS4\Fireworks.exe
-- just edit it to match where your copy of Fireworks MX 2004 is, and you're done -- I suppose that in your case, it should be here:
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Fireworks\
...but I might be wrong -- it's been a long time since I installed anything older than Fireworks CS3...

Camera raw image opens with white blocked-out area on photo

I have never seen or heard of this before but 2 of the 100+ images I have opened, in bridge AND in PS, both open with a white blocked-out area covering most of the image, like it had trouble loading. It did not take long or seem different from any other image I opened. And the part of the photo I CAN see looks to be great quality!?

I transferrd almost 200 images from the camera card to my laptop...put the card in the computer and transferred that way. All but 2 images are just fine. Every image was treated the same. I use Photoshop cs5...Here is the image (I put the gray block over her face, I am talking about the white area..) this is how PS opened it from bridge.

How to stop images opening under panels

I have a standard workspace in CS5. When I open an image or use the Fit on Screen command, an image opens with its right-hand area underneath the layers panel (and whatever panel is open above it). Is there a way to tell CS5 to make the Fit to Screen command not allow images to extend under open panels, please?

It usually depends on how your workspace is set up.
If like in the first screenshot the panels are docked and open, then
that doesn't happen.
If like in the second screenshot one of the panels is in the flyout position, then
that will happen.

You can associate files from the Bridge level and the Desktop level.
In Bridge CS4, go to Preferences > File Type Associations and change it to Photoshop CS4 for the file types you want.
If you want to open files from the Windows Desktop in CS4, these are the instructions:

If you want your image file to open in Photoshop and it doesn't, right click on it and choose
Open with > Choose default program… select Photoshop CS4 or CS6 and checkmark "always use the selected program to open this type of file".

When i use IE9, i go to my emails and any pics in the mail open with the mail but with FF i have to download them is there a way to make the pics open in the mail, i set yahoo to load images automatically in the options menu this has had no effect, thanks

M just sets a marker
Not sure if either are intended for on the fly during playback .

Opening an image problem - with PSE11

Help...have been in chat room with various Adobe Tech guys...have tried all their suggestions and none have worked. CANNOT click on an image(any file type) in My Pictures and have it open directly ..WIN32 application error appears. Must go File/Open with/Picasa/click Adobe Photoshop Elemets. Also cannot go back and forth between any image programas now...used to be in Picasa, could click and open in PSE. VERY FRUSTRATING I downloaded this PSE11 to upgrade from my PSE8 in order to use my new D7000 which was not recognized by PSE11.

Files/images will not "open with" CS6?

Just in the last two or three weeks, I cannot right click and open images/documents with any of my CS6 products anymore. I have 2 folders: Program Files and Program Files (x86) on my Local Disk. Program Files does not have all the CS6 folders. Program Files (x86) DOES have all the CS6 folders PLUS several CS5 and 5.1 folders.
I would appreciate some suggestions.

Problem with image opened in Photoshop

Hi all,
I am having a strange problem with an image opened from Aperture in Photoshop. Though the image looks fine, something is amiss. Most notably when I try to use the shadow/highlight command in Photoshop, the image actually darkens (highlights are set to zero amount). If I export the image as a jpeg and open it in Photoshop, the s/h command works as expected. If I export as a .psd file and open it, the s/h command again darkens the image. Interestingly, the .psd file thumbnail shows orange with read streaks through it, but opens as it should. Corrupted .psd conversion maybe?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Additional info:
Same problem with a series of photos taken about the same time.
Other photos work fine.
I exported the original .nef file, opened it in camera raw/photoshop. Works fine.
Corruption/bug in the .psd conversion looks more likely unless I'm missing something. . . .

Problem with images opened in Photoshop CS 5

Hi, I have a problem with images that I open in Photoshop CS 5. F. ex. I opened
the following image:
The image appears with a purple color in Photoshop. If I hover over the image
with a tool like lasso, it temporarily regains it´s original color. The image mode is RGB Color, 8 Bits/Channel.
I resetted the start settings of Photoshop with the CTRL-Shift-Alt-combination, which had no effect.

The confusion arises from the imprecise error message in the Preferences > Performance dialog box, to wit:

If I invoke View > Proof Colors, the only thing that changes is that the text in the brackets

Cannot open Raw images taken with a Nikon 5200 in photoshop cc

i am trying to open raw images taken with a Nikon 5200 in Photoshop cc but it says that camera model is not supported. I looked at the Raw plugin version. It is 7.0.0.0.3. In support it said the minimum version is 7.3. I have downloaded the DNG Converter with camera raw 7.3. But it is still say i have version 7.0.0.0.3. Anyone know what to do?

If the plug-in version is 7.something then you're running Photoshop CS6 since Photoshop CC ships with Camera Raw 8.0 out of the box. Latest version is Camera Raw 8.4.
The Nikon D5200 has been supported since Camera Raw 7.3 so you can either update CS6 to Camera Raw 7.4 (In Photoshop CS6, Help > Updates) or use Photoshop CC which supports the D5200 out of the box.

How do I clean out the "Open With" dialog box when I right click an image?f

When I right-click and image to open it in a program I get a long list of programs to choose from. Many are duplicated or the same program but different version #s like Preview. How do I clean out the dupes and ones I don't want and keep the ones I do?
How would I add CS3's Adobe Camera Raw to the list?

Do a search for details on cleaning up the "open with" dialog, it's been discussed before but I'm sorry I can't remember what the fixes are.
I have duplicate choices too but have never tried to clean them up.
