Image Placeholder Glitch

Hey Guys,
I'm creating a web page and i'm quite new to dreamweaver.
I've sliced up 4 boxes in photoshop on the page then transfered to
dreamweaver, Its lets me put the background images in 2 of the
boxes then when I load the third background image in it does not
match and sends the whole page out of place and the same with the
fourth.
The images i'm loading in are the images that photoshop
created when I sliced them, I checkout the code and it all seems to
be fine but in the design view it isn't.
Can anyone help?

Hard to tell for certain without seeing any code, but it
sounds like you need to eliminate cellpadding on your table cells
so that the images fit in and do not cause the table to
expand.

  • Is it possible to add audio files without an image placeholder?

Every time I drag audio onto my webpage, I get the audio controls (play, volume control, the play bar, etc) but I also get an image place holder. Is it possible to just get the audio controls and not have an image placeholder?

You can also upload the file to your server and use the embed code to get rid of the image placeholder.....

This still won't be of much use to PC users with Internet Explorer so its better to use a flash player....

  • Image placeholder - how not to stretch images by default

    Captivate 8.0.1.242 - Windows 7
How do I make the image placeholder to not to stretch images by default and rather when I add the image using the + symbol, it should maintain the aspect ratio of the image and resize only based on either width or height?
Or still maintain aspect ratio of the image but crop of the excess beyond the current placeholder size.
I want this by default as when I create my courses, my images vary in aspect ratios and sizes quite a bit. Thus investing time on each image through "edit image" in the properties isn't efficient.

Do you have any suggestions for what I can do instead? I just don't want to spend couple of minutes for each picture which obviously gets multiplied for each of the 3 different responsive views. This is lead to hours wasted for each course work. Am I forced to find only pictures of same aspect ratio and size for the future or is there any workaround?

  • I can't find the image object menu item when trying to add an image placeholder in dreamweaver cs6

I am new to dreamweaver, and am walking through some tutorials.  I can't seem to find the image object menu item to place a image placeholder on my page.  Any suggestions?  Do I have a setting that is currently hiding its visibility?  Thanks  (I am currently working with dreamweaver cs6)

They removed it in the new Cloud version of DW CS6.

  • Selecting Locked Image Placeholder

    Hello,
Can someone please tell me how to select an image placeholder that is locked? I have text over this image: it is a DVD/CD cover that I am attempting to make. However, when I went to resize it, I was not able to select it to unlock it. And, for some reason, Pages thinks that the top left of the image is a good place to insert text because that is what I get when I click on the image and not the text.
All suggestion and comments will me most welcome.
    Phillip

    Amen to that.
I can usually figure things out for myself, but this one truly got me ruffled up. Without your help, I would never have been able to move ahead. The Pages Help was, in this case, absolutely No Help. Regardless, it was a lesson well learned and will not be soon forgotten, if ever.
And, you're spot on about these and other forums being much more than a place to chat. I cannot even begin to recall how many times my 'bacon has been saved' by someone's kind and unselfish help.
I owe you much. Pizza's on the way. Grin.
    Take care,

  • Image placeholder not working in internet explorer

I'm using DreamweaverMX and I used the swap image behavior to make thumbnails appear in a larger placeholder below. When I load the site in Firefox the thumbnails come up and when you click them it displays properly below. However when I open it in internet explorer the placeholder shows up on the screen prior to clicking thumbnails with a red X in the corner. This is a problem because there is more than one placeholder for the different orientations and they are showing up on the page. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

That is correct behavior for IE - unlike FF, it will display the broken image icon when the image is missing.
You might consider simply starting with a transparent.gif which you dimension the the needed size.

  • Image swap glitch

Okay, I've got a glitch with an image swap. There are sopmething like a half a dozen pages in the site rebuild that have image swaps and none of the other have any problems. But this one has managed to find a glitch and likes it so much it won't let go.
I've got the usual table arangement (as in the Classroom in a Book chapter 10 lesson) with the base image in one cel and the links in the others. There are three images that swap out with the main one. I'm using the behavior of clicking on the link to swap the image, not a MouseOver. People are supposed to look at the images, and then if they feel like it they can put the base image back by clicking on that link.
No problem with the first image. No problem with the 2nd. No problem with restoring the original image.
But. No matter how many times I've relinked the 3rd image, clicking on it in a browser gives me a blnk browser page with a message claiming that the image does not exist. When I hit the back button to get back to the page, there is the image right where it is supposed to be. So clearly the code is finding it, but it's sending out a false alert first.
I am assuming that the glitch is in the code, but I don't know enough about code to know what I am supposed to be looking for to find it.
    Any pointers?
    J. Odell

I went back and hunted through it again and found the problem. Somehow the code was putting a '3' where there ought to have been a hashtag. No idea why it was doing that, but once I replaced it with a hashtag the problem went away.
I'd relinked it a half a dozen times, so it evidently really liked that glitch.
BTW, can you give me any pointers on how you adjust the spacing between paragraphs? two full lines is more than really needed to make the distinction between paragraphs. The version of CSS that GoLive 8 used recognized a setting for adding something like one and a half lines between them. But if that's still in there I don't know what they call it these days. I would assume that it would be in the Block settings along with the justification, but nothing in there looks right.

  • Image placeholder ...

When you visit my site, the thumbnail images are missing, only the text shows up. I've noticed that when I build the site by dragging images onto the placeholder they do indeed show up, but when I duplicate an entry and drag in an image the photo does not show up.
So, now that I've built a substantial portion of the site, how do I now get my images to show up?
Thanks in advance! Oh, and my iWeb site is: www.materialogical.com

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I also see no empty placeholder for images in your site. It might be that it's not loading fully for you. If you're using Safari and viewing a page with missing images go to the Windows menu and select Activity. In the next window find the lists of files for that particular page and see if any are listed an not found. Be sure to clear you browsers cache and refresh the browser window.

  • Create (Make) image Placeholder?

I know you can make an image a place holder in other apps like Pages, etc. Can you do so in iWeb? I can't seem to find anything about it.
    Thanks!

I can do that in iWeb to but from a different page. I guess iWeb doesn't have that feature "make image a placeholder" (yet).
The need or the feature comes when you have a picture perfectly placed, sized, and masked where you want it. I'd be nice to be able to just make that image the place holder rather than having to erase the old one, and then drop, mask, and size the new ones until you find the picture that works perfectly.
It really isn't a big deal with all the greatness and efficiency that iWeb offers! It is just such a great feature in pages and other apps it'd be great to implement it in iWeb too!
    Regardless, iWeb is AWESOME!!!!!

  • Safari gets stuck on loading indicator/image placeholder when trying to load "some" images

Ok, so  Safari and Firefox for Mac both have this problem.
When I go to some websites, I get an endless loading icon (place holder) and nothing appears.
However on Windows/Internet Explorer (using parralels) the page loads fine.
This happens on Ram Trucks http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/2012/ram_1500/
and also on Yelp http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/5DJS-EaAN51xbEwqW7Jk6Q?select=YosUpE8E0BgZSEYbWze IKg
Since it happens on Both Safari and Firefox for Mac, Im thinking something is wrong with my MAC Operating System.
Here is what I see when I go to those sites.
    YELP = i49.tinypic.com/153pslv.jpg RAM TRUCKS = i46.tinypic.com/2q3cd9t.png
Those are just two examples of sites, but it happens to other sites.. and its not all images.. it seems like its just those websites that have special/custom loading indicators when you click on photos. I think its some special HTML or scripting that the sites use to bring up the images thats causing the problem. Since its only those sites that have an animated gif as a waiting/loading indicator for the image your trying to view.
Anyone have any ideas? This was working fine, but my hard drive crashed and I had to reinstall OSX. Thats when i started experiencing this. I have already done all the MAC updates.

I already tried taking them off the SD card directly from the Mac card reader, it detects it in image capture and in iphoto, but the same thing happens, just a loading screen as pictured above.

  • Safari 4.0.3 renders some images with glitches on SL

    Hi,
    Safari 4.0.3 renders this image:

    Like this:

The second image, is actually the glitchy image that I have dragged and dropped to my desktop. This is not occurring all the time but so far I have seen this at least 5 times.

the article is also very old (4years ago) so it'll not be helpful in my case.
I think you were looking at the date that Carolyn became a member of this forum. It was only recently posted. The main part was to look at any third party plugins and remove them if you have any. Also follow Golden Shoes recomendations.

Hello, I've created a template with a panoramic photo and
want to be able to place other dimension photos on these templates.
When i try to put a standard vertical photo in the panoramic area
it distorts the image. How can i set the original template up so

  • Image Placeholder for Reader

I am trying to create a printable form in Acrobat X that will allow a user to replace a photo/logo with their own. I would like them to be able to click on an image in Reader that opens up a "browse for image" window that will replace the current image. I am assuming this is a custom javascript in the forms actions section.
Here is an example of what I am trying to accomplish: http://youtu.be/FIiF1WZ8Veo In this screencast, they do it at about 3:10 into the video. I would appreciate anyone who knows how to obtain this result.

Those PDF forms are almost certainly created with LiveCycle Designer, as opposed to Acrobat. Unfortunately, forms created in Acrobat do not allow you to create a graphic/image field that will work with Reader. LiveCycle Designer allows you to add image fields to a form, but it is not included with the Mac version of Acrobat like it is with the Windows version.
This is where I insert my plea to post a feature request to bring this functionality back to Reader. You can add to this one and/or create your own: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/743823?tstart=0

  • INSERT Image Objects Image Placeholder.

Where did this command go in CS6 cloud version?

Thank you Sudarshan Thiagarajan, I think the relevant quote is here:
"Options that were rarely used have been deprecated.
For example, the placeholder option for Insert option has been deprecated because of its limited usage." - http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/tag/insert-panel
I was following along with a tutorial, so I'll just have to invent an alternative.

  • Can't select placeholder image in template

    Hello there,
perhaps I'm too stupid and the solution is such easy. But today I wanted to use the template "You're invisited" to style an invitation for a friends birthday party. In iWork '06, I could select the images on the left side on page 1 and 2 to insert an own image. Now, in iWork '08 it seems to be a text box including image and text - I can't select the image only. Consulting the manual did not solve this, so I'm looking here for help. Thanks a lot in advance
    Klaus

I can't duplicate the problem you're having. When I open that "festive invitation" template in Pages 3 I can select either the picture or the text box, they are not grouped or otherwise linked. The picture is a "media" placeholder, same thing as image placeholder in Pages 1 & 2. This one does have a mask applied, but none of that prevented me from inserting a picture of my own choosing.
