Image reflection only showing when set to wireframe

I have a png. image in my project that I have made 3D using the replicator. I've set up a floor for reflections and turned them on but the image does not cast a reflection. However, when I set the image to wireframe I get a reflection. What's going on? Is there another step that I missing?

Using the Replicator to add "thickness" to text really taxes the CPU, as you're making a ton of new elements it has to render and track. What are your system spece? Mac CPU, RAM, graphics card, hard drive configuration?
I'll assume that in the Render menu, you do have Reflections checked, and the floor is set to recieve reflections, and the appropriate layers are set to cast reflections.

Before syncing, select each calendar on your Mac and back it up by going to File>Export>Export. If anything goes missing, you can use these to restore your calendars.
Have you tried simply force closing the calendar app on your iPhone? To do this, double-tap the home button, locate the calendar app, then swipe up on the image above the app icloud to close it and tap the home bottom. Then test your calendar again.

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I have lost sound on my iPad in apps unless I use headphones ,does anyone know how to get sound back without them .I have used the mute volume on the bar at bottom of screen and the slider volume control there only shows when headphones are plugged in !

The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?

Pasted image does not show when imported to AI

Mac OS 10.4.11 - Acrobat CS4. I made a contact sheet of images in Bridge which was saved as a PDF. In Acrobat I pasted another image (different size ratio) and saved again. However, when I placed the image in Illustrator the pasted image did not show, only the original contact images. It does not show at preview level either, but when the PDF is opened it is definitely there. I tried to 'flatten' it but cannot find a option that works.See attached file.

I would love to help you, but I'm totally lost as to what you are trying to do.

OK, this is where you lost me. Acrobat does not have a paste image ability. Exactly how did you get that image onto the Acrobat page? You copied from where? You pasted how? This is totally screwey.

Placed what image? The original PDF contact sheet? Why are you trying to put it into Illustrator? There's no reason I can think of to do such a thing.
PDF is usually the final output form. It isn't a page layout tool to place into other programs.

You have totally lost me. There is no "flatten" in PDF? That's in Photoshop? What are you doing???

Devices in profile only showing when starting a thread?

Devices (as shown below) only seem to show when starting a thread. Don't show when replying which isn't very useful. Is there a setting somewhere for this?

Mail Dock icon only shows when Inbox has new mail, not other folders.

I've got Rules set up for Mail to move new mail to various folders on receipt, depending on the nature of the emails.
However the Mail icon in the Dock only indicates when new messages are in the Inbox, not other new emails which might be in other folders waiting to be read.
Is there some way to fix this so that it notifies me of all new emails?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you running leopard?
Under preferences on my mail (version 3.1.1 i think) then the 'general' tab there is an option "dock unread count" which you can set to inbox/none or all mailboxes.
I don't remember this being an option under Tiger but it may be worth looking for if you're not on Leopard.

Voicemails only show when another comes or I restart...This is my BUSINESS phone.

Its obviously not a "Verizon thing" because when I restart it shows right up. It doesnt happen all the time but I can't restart my phone everytime I have a missed call just in case they left a message. I use this phone for work so this is so important for me to fix. Sometimes when I get a voicemail that comes through a previous new message will show up even if it's days old. Do I need to go to the store and get swapped out or is this happening to many others?

Mine is doing the exact same thing. It is wierd as it only happens midday when I am in my office. The rest of the day it works fine. But if I get an incoming phone call, the slider will not move and the phone just keeps ringing and ringing and ringing even though the caller has long since hung up. The only way I can stop it is to press both buttons at the same time and hold them down until the phone shut off.
It will also lock up with incoming text messages. Sometimes I can just let it sit for about 5 minutes and it will finally un freeze and I can reply to the text.
I took it to the genius bar at the apple store, and they could not duplicate the problem...as I said it seems to only happen when I am in my office. So they did a reset on it and told me to go home and restore my backup.
I have at least 2 other people that I know are having a similiar if not the same problem.
So, someone, somewhere must know what is causing it.
We need a resolution as this issue renders the phone useless.

Please help! Image only shows when i use Applets instead of Frame/JFrame

The following classes don't work because the Canvas shows just background colour. However, when I let my class "MyContainer" extend Applet instead(and running the Applet instead of the StartUp class that creates a JFrame) of Frame/JFrame i get my Image on the Canvas showing, WHY?

as you are using a JFrame, you should refer to it's contentpane:

Images do not show when deployed on remote server

We are using jdeveloper 11.1.2.1, adf and integrated weblogic and remote server has weblogic where we deploy the application for testing.
We have a login.html page. when deployed and running the image in login.html does not show in FF or IE 8. It shows on IE9. when deployed on the remote server.
When deployed on the integrated server only fire fox shows the image. None of the other web browsers show the image in login,html

The problem does not seem to be with TopLink or JPA, so you may want to post this question to a different forum, such as the JDeveloper/ADF forum at:

If the image itself is being sent but not loaded, you might check that it is a display issue with the browser being used.

Image galleries not showing when site is uploaded to the web.

My site currently works fine. However, when I add a new set of photos to the image gallery and republish my site to the web the "work" page doesn't load anything at all.
As soon as I delete the new images set, and republish the site to the web, it works fine again.
I will add a new set of images now so that the site goes blank and people will understand.

Image size not showing when inserting into html

I have Dreamweaver CS3
I noticed after inserting a bunch of images using the html pane I noticed that the image sizes where not showing in the html, i.e
<li><img src="pics/customerphoto/thmbs/100_0223_thmb.JPG" alt="guitar rack" /></li>
however, when I drag them in to the preview pane (which I prefer not to do), the sizes are referenced, i.e
<li><img src="pics/customerphoto/thmbs/001_thmb.jpg" width="140" height="94" /></li>
I prefer to have the sizes included in the html and certainly don't want to manually add them. Is there a way to do this through the html pane?

Right Click on picture. Hit Reset Size. The native height and width will then show in the image properties pane.

IPAD email message does not show in message part of email will only show when you hit the reply button, portion of message shows in thread only

I can not view email message in the message frame, this is new, email always worked until yesterday . A portion of the message shows in thread column, but blank space shows in email column. How do I remedy this? I can only read my email when I go to the forward/reply button.

Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

HP Pavilion dv7-3170ez: volume indicator not showing when setting volume

Hi
I own a Pavilion dv7-3170ez, and when I change volume using the volume touch-slider on top of the keyboard, volume is adjusted accordingly but no volume indicator appears on the screen.
Previously, while setting volume, a speaker icon with a slider popped out in the middle of the screen showing current volume level.
I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium and both Windows Update and HP update shows that I have latest version of software. Also, I've the latest version of the BIOS installed.
As a side note: the touch buttons on top (volume, speaker and wireless enable, etc.) stopped working a few days after the volume indicator disappeared, I fixed that by plugging off power and disconnectiong battery for a while. Still, the indicator is yet not showing. Not sure if this is related (I guess not).

The Volume OSD is a function HP MediaSmart Menu. It will need to load on start up. To do that, go to msconfig, and make sure it is checked under the Startup Tab....

Images are not showing when page load

Hello All
I am having lot of webparts on my page.
In two of them webpart i applied xslt and showing image of created by person in this
1)Announcement webpart(Wall updates)
2)Showing blog using content by query webpart(Blogs)
While page loading not able to load images in both webpart view.
But when i decreases webparts on page images rendered properly.
I think it is taking time to fetch images so timeout and showing default images.
Kindly suggest me some way to tackle and images will displayed properly

According to this documentation from MSDN about
SharePoint Server 2010 capacity management: Software boundaries and limits:
“In SharePoint Server 2010, there are certain limits that are by design and cannot be exceeded”, “The default values for these limits were defined by testing, and represent the known
limitations of the product. Exceeding supported limits may cause unexpected results, significant decrease in performance, or other harmful effects”, “in most cases, operating at or near an established limit is not a best practice, as acceptable performance
and reliability targets are best achieved when a farm’s design provides for a reasonable balance of limits values”.
So it is not recommended to add many web parts into one page.
If there is a special need to display many web parts in one page, it is recommended to reorganize the content to minimize the number of web parts in use and customization will
be needed sometimes if the built-in web parts can’t meet the requirement.
