Image replacement

http://clerccenter.gallaudet.edu/temp/cc-home-rollover-test/nbr1.html
hi - please go to the above. i use DW8...
this is a test i'm trying to set up. i know that there are
probably easier ways to create this effect. like as an example,
create an all-inclusive Flash movie with all of the various movie
clips and so forth in it.
but i wanted to see if this can be done with DW and CSS.
please rollover the #2 and #3 boxes. you'll see how they
change. please note that when you rollover #2, you'll see there is
no image there. what i did was go into the CSS file and try to put
an embed code for a SWF movie. i was hoping that when you rollover
the #2 blue box, the movie will appear and play.
no such luck. i have a feeling there may be a way to do it,
but obviously i haven't figured it out.
does anyone have any idea as to how to do this?
thanks in advance for any help.

The most straightforward way is to do it one image at a time.
Click on the image that you are replacing in Director's cast
window.
Note what the name of it is. Press Delete. Click on File,
Import... and
find the new image. If the new image should be built into the
Director
movie, then make sure the bottom field (Media) has "Standard
Import"
selected. If it is meant to be an image that is externally
linked to
the Director movie, then it should be set to "Link to
external file".
This will replace all instances in the score with the new
image. It is
usually best to now change the name of the new member to the
name that
you noted the old member had. That will make sure that
anything that is
scripted to expect the old image name finds it correctly.
Repeat as needed with all your new media. It is best if the
old image
and the new image are the same size (width x height). If they
are not,
then it depends on how the person set things up, but you may
need to go
in and rescale things to match their new sizes/aspect ratios.

  • Image Replacement - LoRes to HiRes!

Is there a way to automate the image replacement of low resolution images to high resolution images in inDesign.  We currently have an application that prints to file a PostScript file containing over 800 low resolution images.  We currently have to replace these images (800 images spread over 14 different images, so each design is used up to 50 or 60 times) one by one in Adobe Illustrator CS2.  I haven't had any luck automating this task in Illustrator CC and was directed to inDesign.  I would like to select the 50 or 60 low res images and replace them once, instead of 50 or 60 times.  I would do this over the 14 different designs, making the process faster.
In the past we would take this low res postscript file and send it to our Creo/Scitex PS2 or Brisque, and the rip would take over and do the auto picture replacement function for us.  Is this process possible in inDesign?

Well, not every nuance of your process is clear to me. If the starting point is a "postscript file," which you're currently opening in Illustrator, then InDesign can't step in and do that same thing. It simply doesn't interpret postscript the way Illustrator can. Its native format is proprietary.
If the "root" document was an InDesign file, it would take a bit of setup, but it could be done this way:
Low-resolution images stored together in a common folder (folder 1); linked to InDesign document.
Hi resolution images with exact same names stored together in a different common folder (folder 2).
    Rename folder 1.
Open InDesign document; all links missing.
Relink first missing image link to high-resolution counterpart in folder 2.
InDesign finds and relinks all high-resolution counterparts in folder 2.

  • Black color of images replaced by 'flicking blue'

    Hi there,
More problems with the screen of a Macbook 13". It's just 8 months old and is my first issue. Since last weekend I'm getting problems with the darkest areas of the images displayed. In fact is almost a range near black which changes to a sort of 'electric blue' instead. Other colors are slightly changed too, but this is the most clear problem. Please see the snapshot in this link
    http://picasaweb.google.com/aortizlovera/Mac#
In the picture, these blue areas should be seen as black. It also flicks a bit.
Any guess? It happened without having done anything to cause it (no software update, not being hit, etc.). For me seems like a problem with the graphic card.
    Cheers in anticipated.

I have the similar problem, but flicker pixels only on center of the screen.
Can you connect your macbook to external display? If there is no blue areas, may be it is problem with matrix.
Or can you replace RAM modules with other? Macbook use part of ram as video memory.

  • Embedded images replaced with blue square/question mark

    Guys,
Am new to Macs so it's probably user error however, I regularly receive mails with embedding images in them. On my PC I had they came in fine however on my new Mac all the images get stripped out of the e-mail and saved as attachments. This means all the image place holders in the mail show as small blue squares with a white question mark in them and doing quick look on the attachments shows the correct images!
Is there a config setting that stops mail stripping the images off as attachments when they're "in" an e-mail??
Hope someone can help as this is bugging me now!!
    Thanks,
    Mark

Don't know if this suggestion will help but..........
I experienced problems with attaching images to outgoing mail. When I did this with my new iMac (OSX 10.4.11) the attached files were replaced with a blue square containing a question mark.
I browsed various forums and found quite a few references to the same problem and I tried all the various 'fixes' to no avail.
Earlier today I called Apple's tech support and spoke with Mujahid. He went through the problem, established that it was 'system wide' on my iMac and then he suggested that I trash Mail (v2.1.2) and re-install Mail (only Mail) from the disks that came with my Mac. I followed his instructions and after a shut down/restart cycle, Mail now functions correctly. When I attach an image file to an outgoing email, the file no longer appears as a blue square with ? mark but as the original image.
I wonder if the same sort of fix might resolve the problems with Safari?
    Thanks to Mujahid.
    Regards.

  • Help! Images replaced by thumbnails?

I recently exported my aperture library into iphoto and for some odd reason many, but not all, of the images now in iPhoto are thumbnails around 400kb - they should be 2MB + files! Seems somehow the originals were replaced by thumbnails. I exported back from iPhoto to Aperture again - same problem in my Aperture library. I do have an old vault file I created before the original move from Aperture to iPhoto. Suggestions? I'm considering restoring the vaulted library in Aperture and then exporting from iphoto any files taken after the vault was created and staying away from iPhoto for good. Any advice before I try this????
Also, why would my Aperture library be 20GB and the iPhoto 15GB - both have the same content.

  • How can you images replacable in a PDF?

I want to be able to create high quality and professional looking PDF's and for the client to be able to change text and images. The text is no problem, creating editable forms is easy and not hard to achieve. But I want to swap images easily.
I want to create a PDF that has default images that can be clicked on. Once you click on them you can browse for your new image and upload to the PDF and save a new document. See attached video for this person has achieved it!
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxCpz8lm-I4
He is performing the image swapping in Adobe Reader. Any thoughts on how to achieve this?
    Thanks!!!

It is most likely an XFA form created in LiveCycle Designer. It allows you to create image fields that support JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and GIF formats. Reader 11 allows the buttonImportIcon method to import images as button icons. but the images have to first be converted to PDF.

  • Dynamic DNS updates and issues with re-imaged / replaced machines with the same computer name

Our AD team gets asked frequently to delete bad DNS entries because a computer was replaced or VDI was re-created, and when it was joined to the domain it had the same computer name but different SID, so the DNS entry for that computer can no longer be updated
to a new IP address because the new computer doesn't have rights to update that object in DNS.
I recently saw a resolution to this was to set the security for DNS to allow updates from "Domain Computers" as described in the KB below.
    http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2005210
Has anyone done this?  Any negative implications from this?
    Thanks

Granting all domain computers write access to all records in the dns zone does solve the problem. On the negative side, DNS security is reduced significantly. For example, any user with admin rights locally on his/her computer will be able to sabotage
services in your domain by deleting or changing host records of domain controllers, servers or other client computers.
A more secure solution in this case will be configuring DHCP servers to update DNS on behalf of the client and granting DHCP servers appropriate access to DNS zone. Take a look at
Configuring Secure Dynamic Update for more info.

Then I have a clock script I got from the internet that

So I NEED DESPERATE HELP on how to create a code that would

  • User Account Image Replaced Without My OK

Today I was using a wireless network at a car dealer while my car was getting fixed. Before connecting to this new network, I turned all my sharing options off.
When I came home, I noticed that the image on my user account had been changed, and not by me. How is this possible? I certainly didn't click on anything and there were no interface messages that appeared while I was connected. There's nothing in the Console logs that relates. I'm kind of worried about security now.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm running 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro and all my software is up-to-date.

What was your image and what did it change to? Where did the new image show up? I was able to find another situation that sounds similar.

  • What's the process to replace an image inside a mask?

    Hi There,
The new replace image function is a massive time saver but it doesn't seem to work with masked images.
These images are masked because they're part of an animation so I really need to replace them - not re-import and re-create the animation from scratch.
If this isn't possible, how do I remove the mask? That way I could just delete the mask, replace the image, then re-mask.
Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Ben

The image replace works perfectly with a masked image intact,  only if the two images dimensions are the same.
However, doing the following gets you 95% of the way with just a final tweak of the mask:
select the image on the slide
    Format > Copy Animation
    then replace image
    Format > Paste Animation
Format > Image > Edit Mask

  • Changed Lion Login Background Image No Longer Works

Following instructions posted in various communities, I was able to substitute my own image for the dull gray Lion login background image (replacing the file NSTexturedFullScreenBackgroundColor.png).  But since upgrading to OS X 10.7.4 the other day, the login image has reverted back to the standard Lion image, even though my substituted file is still in the folder /System/Library/Frameworks/AppKit.framework/Versions/C/Resources.
    Anybody figure out a fix?
    Thanks.

  • Changing images on a random path

Is it possible to have an image cross the screen slowly on a random path for say 10 seconds, then have another image replace it and go across on another random path? i will have maybe 15 images in toal that I want to do this with!
    Thanks

Yes, though a random path may not get you across the screen.  You'll need to decide on how you want the random path to be defined.

  • Seeking Help with Album Image Issues in iPod Classic

    Hi folks -
I have a new 160 iPod Classic and have two album image-related issues I'd appreciate some help with.
In the case of several albums where I'd associated my own art with them in iTunes, the formatting appeared off in my iPod due to the vertical/horizontal proportions. So I corrected the images, replaced the images via iTunes, and re-synced. All of the old images were replaced - except for two. Is there any way to get my iPod to recognize the change to these two images, as it did for all the others?
Secondly, my "The Allman Brothers Band Live at Fillmore East" album was appearing twice in both the Cover Flow and Album list. That was strange, except that after the latest sync it now appears six times! It's only in one place in iTunes, and not erroneously set as a compilation or anything. This is the only album displaying this behavior...
Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

  • Image Manipulation from Java to browser

Let me start by saying that I rarely ever post. I try only to do it after I scouring the internet and coming up empty-handed. I have a task that I think should be easy, but of course it is not.
I have an Applet with a JPopupMenu which contains a "Print" JMenuItem. When the item is clicked I use JavaScript via LiveConnect to open a new browser window. My intention is to screen scrape the original page (parse the HTML) and replace any "<OBJECT>" tag with an image of what the Applet is currently showing.
    Why?
Well, printing from browsers is buggy at best. I have to support many different OSs and many different versions of Netscape and IE. Some systems can print the HTML page with Applets just fine. Others can do OK and some just crash at the thought.
    How?
The idea is that if I recreate a snapshot of the page in a new browser window with images replacing the Applets then the broweser can print that page just fine.
    Problem?
I create a BufferedImage in my Applet. The problem comes when I want to tell JavaScript to write the image to the new HTML file. I have seen examples of how this would be done in theory. Has anyone done this?
    Background:
I want to use NO server side technologies (i.e. Servlet/JSP) and I do not want to have to sign any files or request any special permissions.
Is there another way to accomplish this goal???
Even if you don't have a good answer, I would appreciate any comments on the matter.
    Eric

Generate the image from that html page. What would be the best way to generate an image of the
browser rendered page? This is another issue I have
struggled with.Ok, using a JEditorPane it is possible to render a HTML Page. Like all other Swing components it inherits the paintComponent method from JComponent. Simply generate an offscreen image and get its graphics context. Now you can pass this Graphics object the paintComponent and you get an image of your HTML page.
Just make sure your offscreen image has the correct size. I guess this information is available from the JEditorPane.
Use a PixelGrabber to get the image data and scan itfor the area the
default.gif is placed. How would you use the PixelGrabber to find, or scan,
    for a 'default.gif' or multiple 'default.gif's? This
too is an issue I have tried to wrap my mind around. This is the tricky part of it. Using the PixelGrabber you should get an array of pixel values. If you iterate thru this array it should be possible to find the pixel values of the default.gif (at least, if you choose a colr for your default.gif that does not appear in your HTML page incliding the other images).
Now you have to replace those pixels with the pixels you have generated for your applets.
