Image Server

Does anyone know if you can use relative URLs in the Content and Collab config files to reach the image server or do these settings have to be an absolute URL?

  • Image server and images in the product catalog(CRM ISA)

    Dear Gurus,
I am using CRM ISA 5.0 R/3 version. My products in the product catalog has got images. I have assigned the image's to the products in the R/3 product catalog(WWM2)
In the b2b XCM for the webcatalog node, I need to specify the imageserver url. Can you please tell me what goes here. How do I find out what is my image server in my landscape. Please advice me how do I get the images in my ISA product catalog.
    Thanks!
    Vivek.

    Hi Vivek,
In general image server is the web server. You need to talk to your network administrator to identify and setup the web server. Pass on the below document to your administrator to setup the publishing directories on the web server:

  • Cannot connect to imaging server after ZDML SP1 IR3 install

OK, here's a bit of an odd problem... well, actually, I hope it's an insanely easy problem that I just have overlooked a simple solution for. I guess that's for you guys to help figure out. ;)
We had been running Zenworks 7.0.1.0 on an OES1 Linux server with a few odd problems, mostly with remote management and inventory, but we never had a problem with connecting to it for imaging purposes (at least not since I took over management of the box not that long ago). Considering the remote management and inventory issues, I decided to update it to the latest version just to make sure it wasn't an issue that had already been fixed, but now that I have done that we can no longer connect to the imaging server for imaging. While I'd still like to get our original problems fixed, I'm more concerned about the imaging itself and can then revisit the first.
How I went about the upgrade: I followed the instructions at section 4.3 at ZENworks 7 Desktop Management with Support Pack 1 Interim Release 3a. Running ZDMstart shows "done" for bringing everything up, but when I try "/etc/init.d/novell-zmgserv status" it tells me that the Daemon is stopped; when I try "/etc/init.d/novell-zmgserv start" it says "failed".
When that failed, I downloaded the ZEN7_with_SP1_IR2_DesktopMgmtLinux.iso and ran that installation, then went through the steps on 4.2 to upgrade. (OK, this particular maneuver may not have been my smartest.) Same end results though.
I do recognize that I'm walking into a situation I didn't set up and there were other problems to start with. I have a feeling by the end of the year we'll be migrating to an OES2 server but, to be blunt, that project has been put off for other reasons here and again and I'd like to have something to work with in the meantime. Any idea where exactly the failed attempts would be logged to give me more to work with (I don't see anything in /var/log/messages)? Any other thoughts/suggestions are more than welcome; thanks in advance!

Apologies in advance for any confusion; normally I post under this account, but the other day was logged in as tchristi2 for other reasons and forgot to log out... :/ In any case....
I tried uninstalling and re-installing ZENworks from the 7.1HP2 CD, and tailing the /var/log/messages file this line jumped out at me:
Sep 2 09:07:19 oes1 logger: We were unable to locate ndsmodules.conf at /usr/lib or at /usr/lib/nds-modules. ZENworks Imaging was not installed correctly.
I cannot find ndsmodules.conf in either of those locations; could someone help me figure out where it would be or why I might not have it? I may just punt and setup an OES2 box and move ZENworks to it, but at the same time I'd like to have imaging running until we do get that box up and going. Thanks in advance!

  • PT Transform Tag that outputs Image Server URL

I noticed something missing from the EDK that I wanted to get Plumtree's perspective on. We have instances where we need the imageserver URI through the facilities of a Transformation Tag. This useful when the portlet source document is native HTML and does not have server side scripting and also whn using an XSL transformation. In these cases, it would be nice to have a <PT:Image /> tag that can be used to transform into a full URL to an image.
    e.g
    <pt:image pt:src="/fld/subfld/image.gif" alt="sometext" /> --- would output<img src="http://ptserver/imageserver/fld/subfld/image.gif" alt="sometext" />

The portal translates the token every time it finds a static URL, that is every URL that the transformer rewrites. It would work, for example, in an tag. The transformer does not rewrite style sheets or inline styles, so:
    <td style="background-image: url('someBG.gif');">
would not get automatically rewritten. You can't use the pt:url tag here, either, since you can't nest XML tags inside HTML tags (note: that's why pt://images/ is a URL rather than an XML tag in the first place).
So I don't really have a good solution for this one. If this is a dynamic page, your best bet is to grab the image server URL from the EDK in the conventional way.

  • Installing an Image server in a DMZ

    Hello,
I'm planning to deploy an ALUI installation inside a secured plaform. As I read in the deployment guide [url http://edocs.bea.com/alui/deployment/docs604/networking/c_security.html#wp1075964], I must install the portal and the image server in a DMZ. In this guide, another image server can be placed within the internal network to avoid traffic accross the firewall.
What is the reason ? As far as I know, Collaboration or Publisher use only the image server address in order to make an URL pointing to this (for example for the notification email).
Is the some components which need to access directly to the image server, like reading an image from this ?
    Thx

My question is : why another image server can be installed within the internal network ?
I have already an imageserver within the DMZ to serve users, what is the goal of the internal imageserver, hosted in the same network as the other ALI components ?

  • PXE boot different from imaging server

I am having problems with my PXE pre-boot imaging. we have 2 servers, 1

the PXE loops continuously stating that the proxy server is 192.168.1.6 when
it is actually 192.168.1.7 (the imaging server.) how to do I get the pxe

  • ZENworks Imaging Server 7 NetWare 6.5

We are using a NetWare 6.5 Server with ZENworks Imaging Server v7.0.1
Could someone tell me if there is a way to look at logs, to tell when a machine was last imaged, or even better the image history for a machine.
Are there log files which show this? or is there another process?
Alternativly, can I look at a machine, and look for a file or something which would show the image date of that machine?
I have tried ZISWIN.EXE but there are no log files.
We have a dispute and we need to show when a machine / group of machines was last imaged, date would be great.
    Cheers and thanks in advance.

  • Analytics 2.1 - image server and wrong hit count

Has anyone found a solution to Analytics and Images? The problem is any Image Portlet is treated as a Hit. So a page load with images gives the impression that portlet is actually being visited.
This has plagued us for the longest time....
    Thanks,
    V

you mean...when you display a gatewayed image, it looks like a request from the user? thats because...it is a request from the user! (or..thier browser at least)
(note, when you say "image server" that means images outside of the portal, so don't confuse that...)
If these are custom apps, you shoudl eb putting custom images on teh image server. in all my apps, i reference static content like this:
    img src=<% staticpath %>/path/image.jpg
then in the codebehind, i set the staticpath to work both for non-gatewayed and gatewayed requrests.
No, this wont work for everything. It would be nice if they came out and had analytics ignore certain requests with certain extensions.

  • What's the best way for me to set up an image server for my college?

    Here's the deal:
I have a graduate fellowship at this university in the film and media department and the old server admin left. We have a handful of labs that each have their own software configuration, so we have an image for the undergrad lab, one for the grad lab, etc.
For the past 2 years we've been imaging computers by hand on external drives and laptops, but it's super inefficient. I would really like to be able to throw these images on a server and just do it that way ... all at once.
I tried this on a non OSX Server computer (downloaded the apps from Apple) and it didn't work. I suppose I need a real OSX Server, which we have somewhere.
I've watched a few tutorials but they don't seem to give me quite what I need, which isn't to do a fresh install of an OSX, but to be able to "deploy" (?) specific images to specific computers on the network. Any help would be amazing, and you'd be helping a bunch of college students out...
    Thanks,
    G

If your "server" is new enough to run Mountain Lion, you can purchase the OS X Server app from the Mac App store and you'll have everything you need to host a NetInstall (NetBoot) server.
If your machine does not support Mountain Lion, you'll need to purchase the appropriate Mac OS X Server software (i.e. Lion Server or Snow Leopard Server)
From there you can host NetInstall or NetRestore images, depending on your preferred workflow, which can be created using System Image Utility.
As Richard points out you can also use Deploy Studio which, again depending on your preferred workflow, might simplify things.

  • Apple TV as an image server ?

Hello, can I use the hard drive of the Apple TV as an image or video server for a waiting room TV ? I guess I could charge the content (i.e. Pictures, .mov) at home on the hard drive, and then stream it on the TV. Is this possible even if I am not connected to Internet or to a WiFi network ?

if you sync the video or photo content to the appletv at home (via itunes), and then unplug it and take it you wherever then it will certainly do that task.
once the content is synced you do not need it to be on a network.

  • Remote non-SSL image served from SSL site?

I have an SSL site and I need to display images located on an external non-SSL site. When I do this using a standard graphicImage tag and URL=http://whatever IE will throw a warning every time the page is displayed saying the page has secure and non-secure content. I need to avoid this somehow. Is there a way to have the image pulled to the server and then server over SSL? Surely this is a common problem!
    I really appreciate any help!
    Jeff

You cannot suppress this warning without changing the browser's default settings.
Serve the images through SSL, preferably from the same server. You could also create a servlet for this which gets the images from other non-SSL server by URLConnection.

  • Replacing a Imaging Server

    Hi everyone,
We have 4 primary servers with version 11.2.1.6353. One of them is dedicated to Imaging. Actually, we have a problem with the preboot service that seems defect (novell-pbserv.exe) we have many errors on our Windows server events viewer. For now, I don't want to reinstall this server, don't want to change any configuration and versions.
my question: it is Ok to just shutdown this server ? This server doesn't have any other functions other than Imaging, so the 3 others primary servers will go on.... is there a problem to consider in let this server down?
After that I plan to just take another server and install zenworks 11.3 in a new zone, and reconnect my Images storage to it...
The purpose of doing all this is to let the original server unchanged for now...
thank you for your help and advice
    DM

    Dominicm,
    > I would prefer to not delete the existing zenworks server.... I'm hoping
    > to just configure a new one. I will check anyway the procedure
OK. In that case, just add another primary, but as I said, a satellite
will work equally well for imaging.
I was under the impression that you wanted to retire that server, but you
can equally well just remove the imaging role from it.

  • Create image server operating system with Hyper-V and virtual machines

    Friends,
Need to replicate the environment they currently have, but wanted to optimize this operation by creating an image of windows server with Hyper-V and virtual servers already installed, what tool do I use? Can someone guide ???
    Dreyher

I recommend you separate the task of protecting the host from the task of protecting the guest VMs.
By "replicate the environment", do you mean backup the VMs in a recoverable state? or do you intend on migrating the VMs to another environment like another physical location? How much down time can you tolerate if any?
To backup the VMs use a VSS based backup solution. There's plenty out there, including Windows Server backup, Altaro, DPM, Veeam, and many more. This does not require installing agent on any of the VMs, and will not down the VMs during backup. Here's an
example Powershell script to backup all VMs on the local host:
    Install-WindowsFeature -Name Windows-Server-Backup
    $BackupTarget = "\\server\share"
    $WbTarget = New-WBBackupTarget -NetworkPath $BackupTarget
    $WBPolicy = New-WBPolicy
    Add-WBBackupTarget -Policy $WBPolicy -Target $WbTarget
Add-WBVirtualMachine -Policy $WBPolicy -VirtualMachine (Get-WBVirtualMachine) # Add all VMs on localhost
    Start-WBBackup -Policy $WBPolicy -Async
If the intent is VM migration from one location to another, there are plenty of tools to do so with minimal or no down time. Just bing it..

  • Trying p2v import of virtual machine image, server pool not chooseable

I'm trying to import a virtual machine image via p2v from an OEL 5 bare metal image. I go to resources, virtual machine images, Import, choose p2v, and then on the General Information page, it asks for Server Pool Name. The name of my one and only server pool is not in the dropdown. The dropdown only contains "Select Server Pool". I tried to fill in the rest and hit Next but it failed me on the Server Pool name.
How can I get the server pool name to show up in that dropdown?
There is one server pool, one server, and one vm already on that server.
    thanks,
    Peter

It's a bug, I had the same problem. I used this and it worked (copying and pasting from an old thread with the solution):
    Workaround:
VM Manager -> Server Pools -> Select Server Pool Name -> EDIT -> Check the box of “Enable High Availability” -> Apply -> Ignore the “Shared storage is not mounted, or the file system is invalid. The file system should be OCFS2 or NFS.” error message. Leave unchecked the box of ”Enable High Availability” -> Apply again:
    “The server pool updated successfully.”
Now you can retry the import.
