Image that spreads across entire web browser

:rose;
I want to design a web page that has 3 separate sections in
the page where the design/image goes across the entire web browser
window without repeating and stays that way even when the browser
is resized. Making a table with 3 rolls only contains each image
within the space designated for that table roll and the background
surrounding the table still looks different.
Do I need a Javascript or something?
Thanks for your feedback.
Viola J.

So here are my screenshots.
1st one shows the image on a slide in captivate
2nd one shows the image preview in the Library
last image shows it in web browser or published view:
I spoke to technical support today and they could only tell me to copy and past into a new file. I've done that and still getting the same error. Even worse now my audio is having issues. I cleared my cache settings like Lilybiri suggested but nothing seems to work.

  • Getting an image to fit across width of browser

    Hi
Im trying to get an image to fit across width of browser - I thought i could do it as you would a shape ie size image until red line appears both sides so it will fill automactially as same as a shape. However when I do this it just isnt working - it doesnt stretch across width of browser.
I do realise that I can use BROWSER FILL - however as i already have an image for footer i've used this function which works well. Ive also tried combining the image and my footer as one large image using browser fill - however this doesnt work as when the image is scaled up on a large monitor it puts everything out, as it is just treating it as one large background image.
So my question is - is there anyway I can get an image thats placed to fill browser width without using browser fill?
    Many thanks in advance
    Paul

    Hi,
It works, but when I try this, my image is cut in the length (cutting is different, it depends on witch screen you look).
    He don't scroll in image.

    Anybody an idea?
    Thanks!

  • Safari 7.1 opens direct image links centered in the web browser. I need it to open them left aligned like before the 7.1 update. How do I do make it do that?

This is a major issue. I need the browser to open images left aligned like it did before this update. This is a major break to force this on people. There should be a option to click. "Check this box to open images centered in the web browser" and "Check this box to open images left aligned'.
Not that hard to do. Now I am forced to resorting to asking how I can force my browser to go back to how it worked before the update.

Anyone have any idea how to force Safari to work like I want it to?

  • Changing the application name that appears on the web browser

    Hi All,
Thanks in advance for taking your time to reply to this question.
As a standard behavior, the WD application name in the project is displayed in the web browser the application is executed.  How can i show a more user friend name instead of the application name which typically is more cryptic.
Eg: if my application name is TestWDApp, the title of the browser show TestWDApp when the application is run.

Aha .. that worked!!!   That was easy
    Thanks a lot.

  • How do I save an image that's in a web site's background?

I know how to save an image that is not in the background, I just drag it to my desktop. But I cannot do the same with the image in the background of the page, and when I right-click on the backgroung there is no option for that.
Does anybody know how to do this?
    Thanks.

    Hi
on my 10.5.8 & Safari 4.0.4 - I right click on the background, choose "inspect element" and in the Web Inspector window that opens... look for 'background url' over on the top right.
You should be able to ctrl-click that url & then paste it in a new tab or window.

  • Turn off the feature that automatically maximizes the web browser so that I can perpetually see my open tabs.

Like two weeks ago, Firefox was normal and kick ass as per usual. Then I realized that Firefox had changed - when you are doing stuff in a tab for a particular website that you're browsing, Firefox now does this hella annoying thing where it "maximizes" your view of the website and conceals from view your other working tabs. There used to be like an orange button that said Firefox in the top left that had a dropdown menu of commonly used features, like the download manager and bookmarks. This was all super convenient. It was bright, discernible and all of the tabs that I was working with were simultaneously viewable. Now, what happens is, if you reach to the upper portion of a tab for a website you are viewing, it "unmaximizes" the window and reveals the once concealed tabs, which is WICKED DUMB because all it does is change the orientation of the web page so that the link you were once reaching for is now outside of the trajectory of your mouse, thus causing epilepsy inducing madness of page flicker; not to mention it kills time to have to reorient your mouse because of a feature that doesn't even help anything. I personally use a computer for work, not entertainment, like the majority of porn watching freaks of nature on this thing. It should just be something you can turn off easily. Sorry to be so mad, but I thought maybe i could get used to it, and it's honestly just one of the most nauseating features on any piece of software I have ever come across. Thanks!

OMG thank you. I had just never done that in all the time I have used firefox. I mean, ish happens, I guess. Thanks for telling me how to turn it off. Now I can go back to finishing my Master's Degree [while simultaneously relocating to southern CA from NJ and taking care of my palliative, stage 4 bladder cancer ridden father] in peace (which when you're spread as thin as I am right now, you WOULD do something as dumb as hit F11 and not know how to un-hit it). Haha. Namaste!

  • Actual webpage content does not fill entire web browser.

how do i attach a screen shot to this inquiry?

This is occurring on only one page of one site, but the page zoom only enlarges the narrow box. In short, the box is still too shallow to view the necessary listed information without excessive scrolling. This is occurring on only my desktop computer, not my laptop.

  • Apple Users Can't Get Rid Of The New 'Super Cookies' That Track Private Web Browsing

Further to the article "Apple Users Can't Get Rid Of The New ‘Super Cookies’ That Track Private Web Browsing" https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-users-cant-rid-super-180500863.html, is there a solution to resolve this security issue?
    Here's an excerpt from the above mentioned article;
"Apple users are particularly vulnerable, as their devices do not have a function that lets users delete super cookies from their browsers.
Most websites place what’s called a “cookie” on visitors’ computers, which is used to track them and record their preferences. It’s how websites can remember your password, for example. Like your web browsing history, they’re easy to delete. If you use your browser’s “private browsing” mode they’re never saved in the first place — and advertisers can't track you, and other computer users can't go back and see what you looked at.
However, a flaw in a modern web security feature called “HTTP Strict Transport Security” (HSTS) allows websites to plant “super cookies” that can be used to track web users’ browsing habits even when private browsing is enabled.
    Here’s how it works.
Security researcher Sam Greenhalgh writes that HSTS “allows a website to indicate that it should aways be accessed using a secure connection that encrypts your communication with the site.” This “flag” is then saved by your web browser, ensuring that any future visits to the website are secure. But this can also be abused, using this feature to store a unique number that can be used to track your web browser.
And because HSTS carries over into private browsing, it means the “super cookie” can be used to track you whether you’re attempting to cover your steps or not.
Greenhalgh says that Apple’s Safari web browser is especially vulnerable to the exploit. While clearing cookies on Mozilla’s Firefox, Google Chrome or Opera also erases HSTS flags, deleting the super cookies, there’s no way to do so on Safari on iOS devices.
This means that if you’ve had super cookies placed on your iPad or iPhone, there’s effectively no way to get rid of them short of reformatting the entire machine."

    Hi all,
I tried this with IOS 7.1.2 Safari on an iPad retina and the super cookie did not persist after web data and history was deleted.
I also tried this with IOS 8.1.2 Safari on an iPhone 6, and the super cookie persisted even after deleting web history and website data.
Evidently it was ok on 7.1.2 and broken on 8.1.2.

I have an iPod Touch and am going on a cruise where I have been told that Safari won't work on the ship so I need to download Firefox. My iPod said that Safari cna't download it from the Firefox website.  I found "Mercury Web Browser" Firefox, in the app store (free) and am wondering if that is what I need?  Help, I'm leaving on Sept. 3/12.  Thanks.

    - I never heard that but it may be true. It could be that for some reason Safari can't be used to log into the network. Once logged in, Safari should work fine
    - However, I see nothing that say the Mercury Web Browser is Firefox. I would contact the cruise line and ask if and how you use the ship's['s wifi for an iPhone or iPad (it will apply to iPod touch)

In order to avoid detection, the installer will first look for the presence of some antivirus tools and other utilities that might be present on a power user's system, which according to F-Secure include the following:
    /Library/Little Snitch
    /Developer/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/MacOS/Xcode
    /Applications/VirusBarrier X6.app
    /Applications/iAntiVirus/iAntiVirus.app
    /Applications/avast!.app
    /Applications/ClamXav.app
    /Applications/HTTPScoop.app
    /Applications/Packet Peeper.app
If these tools are found, then the malware deletes itself in an attempt to prevent detection by those who have the means and capability to do so. Many malware programs use this behavior, as was seen in others such as the Tsunami malware bot.

  • How do I fit a background image to fill the entire page?

    Hi,
could anyone please tell me how I use e.g. a jpeg image as a background image that fits the entire page without getting horizontal or vertical scroll bars?
    Thanks

    Hi Pziecina and Nancy O.,
thank you so much for your mails. However, I'm still trying to figure this out.
@ Pziecina...I studied the source code of your webpage and tried to insert parts of it into my own page in different variations. The solution to my problem must have something to do with CSS and img src height and width. All I get is a white page. I found out that an image size set in Photoshop apparently doesn't have any effect on whether the image fills the browser 100% or not.
@ Nancy O. What I'm trying to do is to use one single image as background for a single page on the website, I'd like to construct. An image that opens up to the entire width of the screen...not just the browser. I imagine this with layers of transparent/solid color for text fields. I studied the website page, you suggested and a repeat action is not what I aim for. And I realize that maybe I'm thinking too much in Photoshop terms...thinking I can do similar actions in Dreamweaver.  I'm well aware of the whole thing being 'too much' in terms of design and usability but if you check out www.frauhaus.dk I think that works beautifully, although it doesn't open up to the entire screen. I'd like to see if that design concept will work for my own website or if it's going to be too confusing.
And to both of you I really appreciate your time and input, thanks. Even though I'm still getting grey hairs as a beginner I keep thinking that there's got to be a solution to this.
    Best regards from MissRaspberryDream

  • Why no web browser on Apple TV?

I have just installed Apple TV, which replaced an old Elgato EyeHome. One of the nice features of this device was that it in addition to all the streaming features it allowed web browsing (though via a very poor browser!). I was wondering why Apple have not included a web browser in Apple TV, especially since an iPhone can now be used as a keyboard?
One other feature of the EyeHome was that it allowed many different formats to be viewed on your TV, not just iTunes compatible formats....

TV screens should be better than computer monitors. TVs easily do 1920x1080 resolution @ 60Hz, while only the best computer monitors are capable of such. The majority of computer monitors by default are doing 1024x768, with maybe the option of going up to 1280x1024, both at 60 hertz. This makes TV excellent candidates for web browsing! I'm running a web browser on my ATV and it looks great!! I just wish I could figure out how to make a mouse and keyboard work with it.

To be sure, pretty much any computer monitor from recent times should be able to do 60Hz.
    Also, some of the newer TVs are 120Hz (30 * 4 = 120, 24 * 5 = 120).
Not really the whole picture though is it. There are some tv's that might display a web browser with reasonable clarity, but not many. Most 1080 tv's do not actually have 1920 x 1080 pixels - they simply upscale a 1080 signal. And of course more important than the overall resolution is the relative resolution by area and more importantly the distance between pixels, then of course there is overscan, anti-aliasing, brightness, pixel pitch, viewing angle, colour bit depth, response time and more that tv's simply can't compete with a computer monitors on.

  • WebLogic domain spread across two machines

    Hi All,
I have a weblogic domain that spreads across two machines. First machine hosts the Admin server, (BAM , SOA) managed servers and the second machine hosts the (APPs and FIN) managed servers. As you can see the managed servers hosts different applications and not related with clustering. I want to know in such a setup do we need to have separate weblogic installation on both first and second machines or just have WebLogic installation on the first machine and have the second machine reference the first's WL installation.
    What's the best practice.
    Regards

I mean for a domain spread over two machines, I need to have weblogic installation on both machines and not just the one running admin server. I read somewhere WebLogic installations have 1 to N relation with domains. Seems like for a domain spread across two machines, two WL installations and two licences. Am I right?

  • Help title in web browser

    Hello everyone,
I use RH 7 and output to WebHelp. I wanted to change the tab
title for the help that launches in the web browser. We use
Internet Explorer as the default browser. Currently this tab title
is the same as the help project name which is the same as the help
launch file. For example my project name is Help_RH.xpj and the
launch file is Help_RH.htm. In the Help_RH.htm file I can modify
the help title between the <title>Help_RH</title> line
but this will only last until the next generated output.
Is there a method in RH that I can permanently specify the
help title that displays in the browser tab and not have to change
it manually in the Help_RH.htm file each time that I generate an
    output?
    thank you

I just found the answer to my question. The title name can be
changed in the File > Project Setting option. Sorry if I wasted
