Image to text convertor app for MacBook Air

hi any one can help me regarding "image to text convertor app for MacBook Air". Actually I want to make soft text document of some my collected material which contains text information. Is any software/app is availeble to convert image to text? please help me...!!!!?

Your Air has Apple Pages built in. That should work fine. Depending what format your electronic essay system requires, you may have to export to either Word or PDF, both of which Pages can do.
Alternatively, Libreoffice (libreoffice.com) is free and has most of the features of Microsft Office. You can of course buy Office but that's the most expensive option.

  • Brother printer app for macbook air

For some reason i can get the app for my printer (brother) on the app store on my iphone but not on my macbooks app store

Brother printer drivers are usually included with the Mac OS, so you may not need one.
I suggest you connect the printer to the Mac, and try to set it up.
Go to:  Apple menu / System Preferences / Print & Scan. Click the + (bottom left), and follow the directions on the screen.

  • Is Mavericks.app for iMac same as that for Macbook Air?

I downloaded Mavericks.app for my iMac and then used the same installer (mavericks.app) to upgrade my Macbook Air 2013. The upgrade was smooth; but the battery life isn't very great.
Can someone confirm that there's Mavericks upgrade for iMac is the same as that for Macbook Air?

Thanks! Haven't had any problems with the software; except that I'm not happy with the battery life my MBA 2013, 13" offers after the upgrade. Looks like time to reset PRAM and SMC.

  • App similar to stay focused for MacBook Air

Is there an app similar to stay focused for MacBook Air?

There is a way to see (in small window) short bits and parts of video movies, where they exist, in the iTunes application from the store page in there. My older Mac with earlier version of iTunes lets me browse Music, Movies, TV stores, from the sections on the iTunes application; years ago there was more direct content. They used to have a site page for some of those clips... I haven't looked lately.
A screenshot of a video clip ^ from the iTunes Movie store, via iTunes in my Mac.
If you browse the items for sale/rent, a few have a tiny triangle on them and this opens the little window where a preview runs. A few actual movies will have an option to see a preview or trailer-like video in a similar small window that opens up over the store screen.
The older iTunes application in earlier Mac systems had various other features. In order to view movie trailer kinds of content streamed from the internet, you may have to look into a third party application or a web page.
There may be a list of applications included with certain models of Mac portables
and if you can find that name, that may be a talking point. The Store has lists of
what software may be included in the most recent Macs in each products info.
{There was no mention prior to your reply...
    that you did not want to make movies, btw.}
    Good luck & happy computing!

You can't gift it, gifting can only be done from within the store, not from within your library.
Puchases are considered final but you can try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they will refund or credit you : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • How do I stop getting text messages on my macbook air

How do I stop getting text messages on my MacBook Air?

    Hi,
The Mac has an App that is called Messages and one of the accounts in it is the iMessages one that can sync with the iOS one.
Open the Messages app and go to the Preferences (In the drop down Menu in the Apps name in the Menu Bar)
In the Preferences select the Accounts tab.
Select the iMessages account  if it is not selected.
Untick the iPhone Number to stop iMessages sent to your iPhone Number appearing on your Mac.
Also go to the General section of the Preferences.
There is an items that reads "When I quit, set the Status to Off Line"  select this.
This will stop any incoming Messages (from any source that Messages can join) from launching to app when you have not started it but your Computer is On.
You may also want to go to your iPhone Settings and remove the Apple ID.

  • What office program is best for macbook air 2013

what office program is best for macbook air 2013

    To create some sanity here:
If you are going to share files with family, friends, and coworkers Microsoft Office is the obvious and easy (though expensive) choice.
If you are trying to save money and still remain compatible with friends LibreOffice is free and can read/write Microsoft Office files nearly perfectly.
Another free choice is Apple's iWork suite (you'll have to download it from the App store because it isn't pre-installed) Numbers, Pages, and Keynote. These programs read Microsoft documents mostly accurately but not quite as well as LibreOffice and export to Office compatible documents. But neither LibreOffice nor iWork saves in Microsoft formats by default which means you must remember to export them. That can be a problem.
In terms of ease of use I give iWork a slight edge over the other two. In terms of doing annoying things I don't expect, Office is the hands down winner.

  • What is the preferred anti-virus/malware software for MacBook Air

What is the preferred anti-virusmalware software for MacBook Air?

    None is required.
    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Protection
An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.
    See these Apple articles:
Mac OS X Snow Leopard and malware detection
OS X Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
OS X Mountain Lion- Protect your Mac from malware
About file quarantine in OS X
If you require anti-virus protection I recommend using VirusBarrier Express 1.1.6 or Dr.Web Light both from the App Store. They're both free, and since they're from the App Store, they won't destabilize the system. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for these recommendations.)
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect anything targeting the Mac because there
is no Mac malware in the wild, and therefore, no "signatures" to detect.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.

I want to be able to update info in Numbers by either iPhone, iPad or MacBook Air.  Do I need to purchase Numbers separately for MacBook Air?

Yes.  Numbers for the Mac is a different program than the app for the iPhone and iPad.  It can be purchased from the Mac App store.

  • Compatible at-home printer for MacBook Air 13"?

Can anyone recommend an at-home printer for MacBook Air 13" for my granddaughter?  High school now requires papers typed and printed.  Thanks.

Personally I like Canon inkjet printers. When I connected it to the USB port, the MacBook immediately recognized it and it worked without a hitch. If you're going to be printing mostly B/W then there are many inexpensive laser printers that typically print faster and crisper for text. IMHO.

  • Offline Installer for Macbook Air 2011 & Mac Mini 2011

I understand that Macbook Air 2011 and Mac Mini 2011 uses a pre-installed OS X Lion with a different build number (11A2063).
However, it seems that with 10.7.2 , there is only 1 build number: 11C74 , as per http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1633 , does it mean that 10.7.2 is a unified version of the OS X Lion for all mac products?
Therefore, would it be possible to purchase & download the Lion Installer from Mac App Store , extract the InstallESD.dmg and use it as a offline Lion installer for Macbook Air 2011 / Mac mini 2011?
P.S. I am seeking an offline solution because the recovery partition has been damaged, the internet recovery doesn't work (error 3403F & 4403F), and the recovery disk I have created with http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1433 showed an error "could not find installation information for this machine". And the Apple Authorized Service Providers are charging $150 for a simple restoration of the recovery partition.

"does it mean that 10.7.2 is a unified version of the OS X Lion for all mac products?"
    Yes.
"Therefore, would it be possible to purchase & download the Lion Installer from Mac App Store , extract the InstallESD.dmg and use it as a offline Lion installer for Macbook Air 2011 / Mac mini 2011?"
I don't believe there is a 10.7.2 stand alone installer. 10.7.2 is an update file.
