Image upside down in magic bullet looks viewer?

using fcp x 10.0.4 with magic bullet looks for weeks. Now when I apply looks and the looks viewer opens the image is upside down. Have deleted the looks preferences and then uninstalled and reinstalled but image remains inverted. How can I get image upright?

At first glance I thought it was a stunt pilot until I noticed the bit of ground at the top!
Seriously, I had the same problem after I updated FCP X to version 10.0.4.
Anyone else with this problem can cure it by updating Magic Bullet Looks to version 2.0.7
This is Red Giant's description of the problem and solution:-

  • Magic Bullet Looks is fixed...

For those of you who use Magic Bullet Looks, you may have noticed that it didn't work so well with CS4 - no preview image. Well, Red Giant released an update today. So far, it works great. I did catch one little bug in that you need to have the play head over the clip you select to edit in Looks, otherwise the preview image will be where ever the play head is.
If you're like me, this is good news...I've really grown to depend on Looks.

Yeah I beta tested it Looks when it came out and they were pretty adamant about not being able to move the preview around. Evryone in the beta asked for it but they layed down the law and said: Basically, it's not gonna happen so stop asking. Guess it's in the coding or something.
Micah from Red Giant and Stu have said over and over that Colorista is for matching all your clips's color for a scene then Looks is meant to be applied as an over all correction for a scene. This would work better if Premiere had adjustment layers. It was never meant to be a single clip corrector, even though I find myself using the Lens effects (like the awesome swing/tilt, edge softness and grad) for single clips.
They did say that scrubbing in looksbuider might happen for version 2.0 but it's not in google color correction beta group right now. So I don't expect it to happen any time soon.
Eric, are you saying that it picks a random frame from the clip for your preview. That's not the way it's supposed to work. In fact doesn't that kinda negate the reason for keyframing looks?
It's always pulled up the frame the CTI is over. If the CTI isn't over the clip then it pulls up the first frame. Works the same way in AE. If it doesn't work that way for you there's some sort of problem. I'm looking at it right now on Premiere CS4 and it's working for me.

  • I am having problem when I am installing magic bullet look 1.4 please help

Hi, I am having an issue with my Red giant magic bullet look 1.4
When I am installing this plug ins I receive a message saying: your graphic card did not meet the minimum requirement but actually my graphic card did meet the requirement and I was looking at the requirement for this in website and my Gcard met the requirement.  Why is it not installing?
    please help me
    I use premiere pro CS3
    Win 7 OS 64bit
My graphic card is: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT (Microsoft corporation-WDDM v1.1)
The minimum requirements for the plug ins are: Magic Bullet Looks supports a wide range of cards from both ATI or NVIDIA. For ATI cards, we require a 9600 XT or greater, or an X series card starting with the X700 series. Cards with greater model numbers and at least 128 MB of RAM can run the Looks engine.
For NVIDIA cards, we support the 6600 model and higher or QuadroFX 1300 and up. Cards with higher model numbers and a minimum of 128 MB of RAM can run Looks. For users working with HD images, we require that the video card have at least 256 MB of RAM. In all cases, we suggest using the latest video drivers for your graphics card.
Please Note Since all media is processed at 32 bit, you will absolutely need a 256 MB graphics card or larger. For newer cards from ATI and NVIDIA, we recommend a minimum of 320 MB of RAM. For 2K projects, we recommend 512 MB or a larger amount of RAM on the graphics card.

    Run this.

  • After Effects CC 2014 Crashing with Magic Bullet Looks on Mac

    Hi,
I recently installed the upgrade to the latest After Effects CC 2014 v13.0 and found the Magic Bullet Looks now causes After Effects to crash. I'm using MBL v2.5.2
I opened the Activity Monitor and noticed that whenever the crash occurs the Adobe QT32 Server is in a state of (Not Responding)
On a clip I can apply the MBL plugin with no problems and even if I am copying a previously set up version from a previous clip, it applies and renders without trouble. I can click "Edit" on the plugin controls, open up the MBL control window and make all the adjustments I need without any trouble. The issue is when I then click either "Finished" or "Cancel" to go back to After Effects. The program freezes and I get the spinning wheel of death for about ten seconds and the the whole thing, MBL and AE shut down.
    I am running:
    MacBook Pro
    OS 10.9.4
Processor  2.3 GHz Intel Core i72.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory  8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics  AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
    Cuda  6.0.54
The footage is Apple Quicktime ProRes HQ
I have Quicktime v10.3 installed and Quicktime Pro v7.6.6
I am at a loss as of how to fix or even work around this. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

There was a bug in MBL on Premiere CC 2014 that was causing crashing and lockups. Red Giant released an update quite quickly that so far seems to have fixed it for me. I know you're talking about AE but maybe there's some common code that was also fixed? As Rick says, have you checked the latest ver of MBL?

  • Edit in Photoshop opens images upside down

    I'm using Lightroom 2.0 and PhotoShop CS3.
I'm on an Intel Mac running Leopard, with Lightroom 2.0 and Photoshop 10.0.1
I have a problem with opening images in Photoshop from Lightroom where those images were taken on a particular camera - a Fuji FinePix 9500.
Choosing Edit in Photoshop CS3 from the Lightroom Library module opens these images upside down.
Choosing Open as smart object in Photoshop also opens these images upside down.
The images are DNG files but trying the same action with the original RAW files displays the same problem.
Opening the same files directly into Photoshop CS3 displays the images correctly.
Opening the same files from Bridge CS3 displays the images correctly
Opening the same files from Lightroom version 1 displayed the images correctly.
Opening files from an older Fuji FinePix 4900 open correctly in Photoshop.
In Lightroom itself, the thumbnails, loupe views and slideshow images are all oriented correctly.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
    David Wood

Probably the same bug that opens my D70 images rotated 90 degrees. No problems with my other cameras, only the D70. Adobe know about it, but it would be worth logging your bug on their report form:-

  • XML Crashing FCP while importing.  Magic Bullet Looks could be the problem

    Hi All,
    Need a little help here.
I am using FCP 6.0.5 on a power mac G-5.
I am trying to open an XML which was exported out of FCP 7 as a version 4 XML.
Magic Bullet Looks is being used on the project, and I think this is were the problem is.
when importing the XML it crashes FCP when I select the Include Video/Audio Effects.
When I import the XML without this option selected it opens fine.
I have MB Looks Installed on machine, so the Plugins are there.
Just wanted to see if anyone has dealt with this issue or might have any insight to the problem.
I can post the Crash info on the specific thread if that can help.
    Thanks!

Couldn't agree more Jim - hence why I'm not using Snow Leopard yet as I had a nightmare in the early adoption of an older operating system. As for MBL, there seem to be many using it without problems so I don't think it's an issue with the product per say and it really is a very good plug-in. (That view will change to excellent once the problems go away) I just need to get to the bottom of which square peg is destined for which round hole and I'm hopeful that all will be well. I've also submitted a support question to Magic Bullet so will update if I get a solution. I like the CleanApp idea. I'll try that as well. (and I may even give Snow Leopard a go!)

  • Slow loading of magic bullet looks

Hello. I have GeForce GTX 670M video card and 32 GB of ram. Running on Windows 7 64 bit. Everytime i try to use the effect Magic Bullet Looks. I never get to see the image. It always loads slow and shows black background like pic below
Anyone know what settings to change to make it work

In addition to Peru Bob's hints (update the drivers, try to go back to when it worked, if at all), here's what I'd do:
clear Premiere Pro and MBL preferences (and try again)
create a new user ID on the system, try it from that user ID
check Red Giant forums to see if anyone else has a similar issue; post it if not
open a support ticket with Red Giant for the issue.

  • FCP Crashes while using Magic Bullet Looks

    Hi All,
We have recently installed Magic Bullet Looks onto our main edit machine. However, using it causes FCP to crash with really annoying regularity. It seems to be related to either auto save or thumbnails (opening a sequence with Looks applied and it will crash while loading the thumbnails onto the timeline for example - that could be a coincidence as it crashes in many other situations as well but always when working with MBL))
I've tried the usual preference trashing things but can't stop it happening. Anyone had any similar issues that they've been able to resolve? We aren't yet running Snow Leopard but I may try that as a potential solution.
If it matters - the machine is dual 3.2 quad core with 6GB of RAM running FCP 7. It also has a Blackmagic Extreme card (tried turning external video off - no difference)
    All thoughts greatly appreciated,
Regards and a happy new year to all,
    Richard

  • Red line with Magic Bullet Looks

Magic Bullet Looks in the Video Effects panel shows as a 32 GPU accelerated effect.
However, when I add it to a clip in timeline one, two or three, I go from no lines (including yellow) to a red line above that clip.
If it's a GPU accelerated effect why am I seeing a red line above the clip when I add that effect?
My card is a 285 that works fine with everthing else.

Magic Bullit Looks is not a accelerated effect, so that is why you are seeing the red line.
Effects with the icon on the left are accelerated.

  • Adobe premiere pro cc 2014 freezing with magic bullet looks

    Hi-
I'm running windows 8 with this software and I'm getting intermittent crashing when trying to work on any project when I'm also using magic bullet Looks on it.  The frustrating thing is that it used to work fine in premiere Pro CC, but using the 2014 version is very unstable.  Also, I cannot go back to using the non-2014 version because the file format is incompatible with the older version and I don't have another version saved.  I've already done hours and hours of editing in 2014 only to keep having crashes.
Is anyone looking into this or has any recommendations so I can get work done.
    Thanks!
    -Lok

I don't use magic bullet Looks but is that a 3rd party plugin?
If yes, have you checked with the vendor to see if it needs to be updated for the new structure of CC 2014?

  • I just updated to new final cut pro x 10.1.1 and i am also on mavericks so but on my editing timeline i was trying to color grade using magic bullet looks but i am having problem with it. when it comes back to tcp x it's black.

I just updated to the new final cut pro x 10.1.1 and i am also on mavericks so but on my editing timeline i was trying to color grade using magic bullet looks but i am having problem with it. When i send a sample to MBL and color grade it , it comes back to final cut pro x all black even after render. By the way on the MBL i am using the GPU rendering, I used before like 4months ago and it was fine. And i don't like to use the CPU because it very slow.

What is the frame rate of the project? At what frame rate was the media recorded? What frame size?
    What are the audio settings?
What are the specs of the machine, in particular how much RAM, how is the hard drive connected, etc.?
If possible, post screenshots of the inspector for the project.
It could be related to the audio frequency?

  • I am not able to use Magic Bullet Looks with the After Effects trial

    Jeff,
I am having troubles with downloading a trial. I am currently trying to find ways to edit videos using Magic Bullet Looks. I have found many ways, but when I go to download the Magic Bullet looks, it says After Effects cs6. For some reason it does not install even though I have the trial version of After Effects. So when I open After Effects, and go to the effects tab, it does not show up. I have looked on tutorials and many other ways.
I also tried downloading the trial of After Effects at, http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.htmlrfer
