Image viewer with a selective zoom.

Well, I've been looking for an image viewer where you can select where on the image you want to zoom into.
For example. Say you download hotchick.png and you don't like her face, but want to zoom into the rest. You could select where you want to zoom into. Think of GIMPs rectangle select tool.

I've tried every image viewer I could find and none of them have this feature, seriously? It's such a basic feature..

  • Image Viewer with color selection?

I'm searching an text-mode image viewer (like qiv or feh) but with built-in color picker, so I could easily find out the HEX-code of displayed colors.
Is there something like that out there?

Damn it after only 2 weeks I've already been unmasked. *stealing away and registering new account* *tap* *tap*

But then again, Mac57 was brave enough to invoke the Gimp, so I'll throw this out there even though it still doesn't seem to fit:
    gcolor2

Depending on your base set-up, it may have too many dependencies as well. Don't know for sure.
But this color picker definitely has the advantage of being application independent, meaning you don't have to have any other graphics app open to use it, and it is not limited to picking colors inside the GUI like the color picker in Gimp, for instance. Basically, when gcolor2 is launched, you can pick from any color anywhere your mouse can be moved.
I've used it for quite some time in various Linux distros including Arch.
Even if it isn't what I'm actually searching, I think I'll stay with gcolor2 since it seems that there isn't any qiv-like app. with built-in colorpicker.Thank you.

Offtopic, but did you know feh has a right click menu?  Rotation is in this menu.
Oh yes, I do know the right click. but I guess I never looked hard enough for the rotation as I do it very infrequently. Thanks for the tip.
How would I set feh, so that when I double click a image file, feh would start up and show that image? If I can get that (and I haven't tried that yet), I guess I can get rid of mirage then.
That's not an feh config, that's a config for whatever file manager you are using.  I'm not sure of the options you'd need to pass feh because I always run it on the command line.

  • How to setup a 'duplicate/mirror view' with a different zoom level?

    Hi Photoshop Gurus,
I constantly keep zooming in and out of the same images. It drives me crazy to view it at normal zoom level and zoom back into deep pixels.
Is there a way so that I have a duplicate floating window/view that shows realtime editing of an image at a different zoom level? (Think of it like a display mirroring, but, I am trying to mirror the same document at a normal zoom level).
    This is my scenario:
    - I usually work with small images/icons.
    - I zoom deeply into an image at pixel level ~3000%.
    - Change some pixels and do editing
    - Zoom back out to 100% to view how it looks normally.
    - Repeat and repeat.
Can I always have a 100% zoomed view along side the same document?
    Thanks for your help.
    PHOTOSHOP CS5 Mac Snow Leopard

The navigator palette is just another document view.  Open it, put it where you want, resize it, and you can use it to control (and see) what part of the docuemnt your zoomed in view is showing.

  • Image viewer with interactive coordinate response

Hello! I'm looking for an image viewer on Linux which has the ability to show coordinates interactively.
Is feh or display (imagemagick) able to do that? Or any other applications?
    Thanks!

You can either use accordion for frame transition or composition with fading effect, first with mouse click action and second with rollover function.
    - With accordion , make label and container same size as overlapping frames, setup can close all.
    - With composition , trigger and target same size as overlapped frames , with show target on rollover and transition as fading. For vertical transition, you need to select stacked position which would not give you option to hide target.
So the purpose you are trying to achieve is possible but either with mouse click action or fading effect transition.
    Example : http://rollover04.businesscatalyst.com/
    Thanks,

  • Need a fast image viewer with slideshow and autorotating

    Hello everyone,
I'm currently recycling an old computer as a digital photo frame. It runs LXDE.
This computer is also used as a server on which we store our photographs.
I need a fast picture viewer, with the following features:
    - fast processing
    - good rendering
    - image autorotation based on EXIF data
    - random slideshow with recursive browsing
    - GUI is preferred, or I need to find a way to add entries in PCManFM's right-click menu (any guidance is welcome)
    - ability to play video would be nice but is not mandatory
I've tried many image viewers available in repos and AUR. So far only 2 of them are suitable in terms of speed: feh and qiv. But they are CLI-based (no big deal if I find a way to customize PCManFM file associations), and they do not support image autorotating based on EXIF (support has recently been implemented in qiv, but Arch's package is outdated).
Please tell me if you know about a program that'd fit my needs.
    TIA.

I think the first thing you need to do is look up "pivot query" in this newsgroup. And how complicated your query gets to be will depend on your database version (11 natively supports pivot queries). You have a variable number of columns in your result set (depending on how many quarters you have in your data.
I think once you get the columns sorted out, working out the numbers to put in each column will be relatively easy.

  • How can i make a simple image viewer in JAVA?

i know this is a silly doubt...but 'm new to java
i have to make an image viewer which can also zoom the image
    please help me
    advance thanx

    Create an java.awt.Image object
Display it in a java.awt.Panel object
    using java.awt.Graphics.drawImage
some of the drawImage methods let you scale, clip, and flip the image.
That's AWT. It may be easier in Swing.
I think this could be written in under 50 lines of code. Maybe under 25.
Read the tutorials and the API. All will become clear.
If you're new to java, you might be better off posting to the New To Java forum.

  • Retrieve value form Table view when the selection mode is 'NONE'

    Hi,
I am new to ABAP, Can anyone tell me how to reterieve the records of the tableview, i have the selection mode as 'NONE'. When the button is clicked i need to reterieve all the values from the table and display it in the next screen.
I am able to diaplay the table values , but i am unable to reterieve the values on Inputprocessing.
Its very urgent. Please help me
    Regards,
    Jose

you are able display the table view means, you have the data in internal table.
you need all the records that are displayed in the table view with out selection. why dont you use that internal table itself, which is displayed as table view.

  • I want to create an image gallery with forward back nav, master image with a click to pop out zoom

    Hi Musers,
I'm currently building a photography website and need some help building a specific type of gallery.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Below is a description of the gallery I want to build:
On the gallery page the gallery appears as a single 'Master Image' with forward and back 'Navs.' and a 'Counter' underneath this single 'Master Image'. Lets say that there are 10 images in this gallery. When the viewer clicks on the forward 'Nav.' the 'Master Image' changes to the next image in the sequence of 10 and the 'Counter' below confirms this progression, in this example the 'Counter' changes from 1 of 10 to read 2 of 10, the 'Master Image' displayed is the second image in the sequence.
Simple so far.. This above I can do as this is just a basic gallery. What follows is what I cannot find a solution for.
I want the gallery viewer to be able to click on the 'Master Image' and launch an enlargement of that image overlaying the gallery page, very much like the way the 'Lightbox' widget displays an enlarged image. When the viewer clicks off the 'Ligtbox' or enlarged image it dissapears, reverting the page view back to the standard gallery view with 'Master Image', 'Navs.' and 'Counter'. I do not want the expanded / Enlarged 'Lightbox' image accompanied by a thumbnail gallery, 'Navs.' / Navigation arrows or a 'Counter'. What I want is to be able to launch an enlarged version of the 'Master Image' as an overlay on the gallery page, something like a pop out.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Can anyone explain how I can do this? Is it possible?
The solution I want seems to be a highbrid between the standard gallery with navigation arrows kept but minus thumbnails and captions with some of the functionality of the lightbox gallery widget.
I very much appreciate any help anyone can give.
    Thank you

    Hi Harriet,
Thanks for the message. I'm sure as time goes on new features will be introduced but it's a bit of a shame that the widget library is a little basic, oh, and at times it's just that little bit buggy. So far I'm really impressed by Muse despite being ever so slightly disappointed by some of it's limitations. I'd like to see more image gallery options, the ability to set up a client login area or a client ftp within a site, I also tried embedding video but as I'm no programmer the result looked clumsy so some focus on this would be a help. Considering that a good number of people benefiting from a Muse site will be online retailers a zoom function should have been there from the start.
    Best regards
    Jacques

  • PSE8 Full screen view with high-res images

The Full Screen View in PSE8 doesn't seem to cope well with high-resolution images, eg from a full-frame DSLR (eg my Sony A850 with 6000 x 4000 px).
After selecting an image in Organsier and starting Full Screen View the first image is displayed successfully, but clicking the button to move to subsequent images soon results in a "cracked image" symbol.  (It's unrelated to the image though - closing FSV, selecting the suspect image and restarting FSV displays it properly).
I get the same symptoms with JPEG and RAW images, and on two Windows PCs.  One's XP with 1.5GB, the other is Windows 7 with 8GB.
I've tried maximising the RAM available to PSE8 (in Editor preferences), but it makes no difference.

Here is the solution under Windows 7 64-bit  with Photoshop Elements 6 for the new Entry "MaxImageSize":
The Registry-Entries for 32-bit-Programs are saved in
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE ... Wow6432Node ...
    QWORD-32bit 42C1D8000000
    (Hex 1120000000 or Decimal 73551314944)
    for a JPG-File up to 10.000 x 10.000 Pixel

i've always liked xfces lightweight image viewer ristretto, but there were always two things which annoyed me:
    1. no keyboard navigation
    2. rolling the mousewheel over displayed image just zooms in/out
so today i finally took the sources and changed some lines:
    1. navigate to previous/next image with leftarrow / H and rightarrow / L
    2. scrolling the mousewheel over current image navigates to previous/next image
    3. ctrl + mousewheel to zoom
maybe one of you finds this useful

I having an issue with CC.
When electing in the preferences to not open image in Tabs. The images open with only about 25% of the image area showing. Forcing me to (command) 0 for full to screen preview or (command) +/- to see the image.
I am not talking about seeing the image at 100% resolution just the entire image within the floating window without having to command before view.
Sidenote: Adobe Customer Service is all based in India. I spent 4 hours on the phone only to hear that this is that way photoshop works.
There would be no logical explanation for this. Since the first version of Photoshop this has not been the case.
