Images disappear after each restart...?

...but the sound remains (though, sometimes not!) I wonder why my images in the timeline are visually still there but, when I launch the project to be played, every once in a while an erro's board means that media are offline... Why is that, please and I will I correct that situation?

Thanks for the screen-caps. From the G-Spot screen, it appears that you have Imported VOB's, or at least from VOB's.
What VOB's letters stand for?
Maybe! ; my daughter did it 5 months ago (the import) and she's not sure the way she used - It was directly from the camera to the computer by the usb cable I think, and, only the images downloaded at that time were sill available... Actually, these files are stocked in a folder as .mov. Is this ok?
These are MPEG-2 files, and can cause some issues. However, it also appears that you have Imported them, so I'm going to take a guess here: when you did the Import, did you do so FROM the DVD's, or did you copy over the various VOB files to your computer, and then Import from there?

I would suspect the first. If that is the case, there is probably a bit of confusion on what Import does. It does NOT copy the source files at all. It only links to the location where the source files WERE, when you Imported them. If you did the Import FROM the DVD's, they will need to be in the drive(s), for PrPro to work with them. If you did this from several, there will be more work to do, to get things working properly. If this is your case, we'll talk more about what you'll want to do.
The files are all the same type and in the same folder...
If you did copy the VOB files FROM the DVD's onto your system, there could be other problems with why PrPro is seeing them as Offline. If this is the case, we'll talk more about how to try and fixt that too.
I will say that working with VOB's and the MPEG-2 files that they can contain is probably not the best workflow. However, you seem to be well into your Project, based on the Timeline screen-cap. If they have been working so far, we won't get into other ways of doing it. Just know that there are better workflows for the next Project.
Good luck, and let me know the process that you used to get your VOB files onto your computer and into PrPro. Each method will require some different techniques.

PS MPEG-2's Imported from VOB's CAN often cause Audio problems. Let's get the Media Offline issue solved first, and then we'll work on the Audio issues.

Starting up into Safe Mode does several things:
1 It forces a directory check of the startup volume.
2 It loads only required kernel extensions (some of the items in /System/Library/Extensions).
3 In Mac OS X v10.3.9 or earlier, Safe Mode runs only Apple-installed startup items (such items may be installed either in /Library/StartupItems or in /System/Library/StartupItems; these are different than user-selected account login items).

As I don’t know much about the technical aspects of computers, I don’t really understand the first answer, and it sounds like following it might produce unwanted changes.
But I understand your questions, so I’ll try to answer them;
"loading from any Project" means that I encounter the problem when I’m using a project, possibly after/because I’ve left the Mac on overnight, and/or I’ve made a lot of adjustments, and, once the problem is there, it happens in any other project which I open – the images load then disappear.
I can see images in the Browser, so it only happens in the Viewer(s).
I’m afraid I don’t understand what you mean by: “If you select "Photos" from near the top of the Library tab of the Inspector, does it show you all of your Images?”. I am a newcomer to Aperture, so I don’t know what some of the buttons are for yet, but when I want to look at and adjust my pictures, I import them, as referenced images, then Aperture creates a folder/project in the Library. When I click on that Project (when it’s working properly), all the images appear in the Browser or the Viewers – without me needing to “select Photos from near the top of the Library tab of the Inspector”. I selected it and looked at all the items in the dropdown menu, but none of them seems to offer the option to ‘show all the images’. So I’m not sure how to answer your question except to say that – yes, I can see all the pictures in the Browser or the Viewers (when it’s working properly), but I don’t seem to need to use the Photos button to achieve this.

Yes it worked ok for a while, but I only purchased it on 24th May.
If I understand correctly, the difference between thumbnail and preview is that the thumbnail is what I see when the “Loading” wheel is turning, and the disappearance of this wheel after a few seconds means that I am now looking at the preview (also, the thumbnail cannot be adjusted).
So I think the problem occurs when the thumbnail has finished loading; the viewer going blank/grey might mean that it is not showing the preview.
But I have not changed the default Preview settings in Aperture Preferences.

Image disappears after effect in HTML5

I am using Captivate 7.0.1.237.
I have set up my project as follows:
Slide 1:
1. I have an image that has an effect of Left to Right. When the project is launched, the effect is paused using an adv. action. Got a variable, say Var_1, in an adv. action to pause it: On enter, if the variable is 0, then pause.)
2. I have a button to generate a random number. This number is assigned as the new value of Var_1.
Slide 2:
Have an On Enter adv. action: If the value of Var_1 is "n", then pause.
Though I have not explicitly mentioned, the project moves to next slide if the Var_1 value is not "n".
Now, this is working fine in SWF output. However, in the HTML5 output, when the value is "n", the slide pauses but the image disappears after the animation effect.
Any idea why?

The current frame number when the action runs and when slide pauses as per the actions is same in both SWF asnd HTML5 outputs. Here are the screenshots. The yellow colored object is the one that has the effect. 181 is the frame number.

I noticed one interesting difference in starting frame of SWF and HTML5 outputs. When I launch the preview the SWF (using F12), the current frame number is 0, whereas the first frame in HTML5 preview (using F11) is 1. I am not sure if that has got anything to do with the issue I am facing.

Images disappear after being selected from galleries

I created an app in Project Siena that serves as a product catalog for our Remote Sales team to use on their tablets. The app relies heavily on image galleries for navigation. Everything works fine, except that as you navigate back and forth
through the app pages, images that have been previously selected start disappearing from their gallery upon returning to their page. Anyone seen this happen before?

Hi Bruton, thanks for the quick response. I'll try and break this down as simply as possible:
-Built on Excel tables containing links to images. The images are located in a mapped network drive that is synced offline.
-All images appear fine at first as you navigate through the app; then, as you go back to the Index page and go back through the same pages, you start to see previously selected images disappear from the gallery. All the other images show up fine in
the gallery. Only the ones that have been selected previously disappear. If you close that app and re-open it, voila, all images display without issue.
-This same phenomena occurs while running the app in Project Siena; when the images start disappearing, I will update the data sources, and voila, the missing images come back.
-There are four basic pages that each contain an image gallery: Index, Brand, Group, and Product
-You drill down by selecting a brand, then a product Group, then an individual product (hence the 4 pages)
-Note: some "brands" that are chosen take you directly to the Product page, bypassing the Group page
-The image galleries on each page are used for the navigation (drilling-down to next level)
-When you tap an image from the gallery, you launch the next page... below is the navigation code for the image gallery on the Brands page. (I used "UpdateIf" function w/ 1=1 so it's always true, because I wasn't sure how to use other "Update"
functions.)

My installed add-ons always disappeared after PC restart that I have to install them all over again, is there any solution?

Lately after last upgrade of Fierefox, my add-ons suddenly disappeared, after I turn on my PC. So I have to install them all over again, than everything work fine. But this morning it happened again, my add-ons disappeared. I try to looking for an answer but have no luck.
My add-ons that alwys disappeared after restarting PC, are :

2. DownThemAll
3. DownThemAll Anti container
I'm not install these add on while I'm asking this question.
Is there any solution for this problem?

Image disappears after cropping

After all adjustments are made, then crop image-use command to crop-image disappears. I have a blank image in navigator cropped and no image. Does anybody have an answer. PS3 was working fine last night. I woke the mac up and this starts happening.

This really helps. My resize was set to 8x10 pixels instead of inches. Then it kept defaulting to pixels when I would type any number in the box. To solve that problem you need to click on Window and select Info from the dropdown box. Then you have to click on the little arrow in the upper right hand corner of the Info box and select Info Panel Options. Then you can change the default to "inches". There must be an easier way to do that but I'm not sure what it is.

External Hard Drive Unavailable After Each Restart

Hi, everyone —
I recently upgraded from a 2007 iMac to a 2012 iMac with a Fusion drive. I had two external drives on the old machine which are now connected to the new machine. Both are Seagate "Backup Desk" drives (2TB "Media" and 3TB "Time Machine") and are connected via USB.
Whenever I restart the computer (or shutdown and turn back on), the Time Machine disk connects fine, but the Media one does not. Disk Utility does not even see the missing hardware, let alone mount the volume.
To make it appear, all I need to do is disconnect and reconnect the drive.
But it's annoying! And with my iPhoto library on the ext drive, i have to reselect my background images every time I restart.
Any ideas?
I've done the following things in the last day, without any improvement:
- shut down, unplugged for 15 seconds, restarted zapping pram
- ran "Repair Disk" on all three disks and Repair Disk Permissions on boot volume. No errors.
- tried a different USB outlet on the iMac
Note that despite repeated testing finding no issues, it's possible the drive my have errant sectors. I've seen i/o errors in the Console, but ran Repair Disk several times without major errors. And since the issue started when I connected it to the new machine, I'm skeptical that this particular issue is hardware-related.
Never seen this kind of thing before – any other ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

Word Add in disappears after computer restart

We are using Office 2007. The BI publisher word tab add in disappears after reboot. When we try to re-install the control panel has the option to repair which indicates that it is still installed. Any ideas on what causes this? Thanks.

Just to clarify my original question - wasn't asking if the other addins stay but specifically if the machine in question is "identical" in terms of what is installed etc
There is a known issue where Outlook addins will get disabled if the addin exceeds some Outlook load threshold time so if you have 5-6 other machines that work without any problems, logic would dictate that there is some difference (however subtle) between
the machines that work and the one that doesn't. Have no idea personally what that might be (i.e. if everything else is supposedly the same, is the problem machine as fast as the others in terms of processing power & memory etc). Not likely
that this is first time the ZixCorp folks would have heard about it (mind you - there is a "first time" for everything for any issue reported to a company so the questions I've asked about similarities would also likely be asked by them.

My comp disappears after each loop

Im still a beginner at AE but I feel i have a decent grasp on it, but I will probably murder all the termonology in explaining! :-)
I created a short animation that loops smoothly. I dropped that animated comp into another longer comp. I enabled time remapping and the LoopOut property for the loop to loop inside this other comp (as instructed by tutorials). I stretched the bar in the timeline to the full length of this comp and my animation loops while inside this comp just as I wanted.
The only difference is that when it get to the end of its first run, it blanks out then comes back. It keeps doing this and its not consistant. First it blacks out after the first 4 frames (which is the actual length of the original animation), then it does it after 8 frames, then 16 frames before it returns to the beginning and loops over again.
I have this happen every now and then for reasons I dont understand but as i fiddle with things, I seem to fix it but cant understand why. This one I just cant seem to get through and not sure what I am missing. Hope I explained it well!!

Time in AE is fluid and frames are sampled at the beginning of their duration. You are introducing tiny offsets somewhere that accumulate over time, resulting in those shifting patterns - after each cyle the rounding is just different, hence it seems to "grow". Make sure your tiem-remapping is exact and you do not introduce framrate mismatches.

How to prevent display color option settings from disappearing after a restart of Firefox?

I like to display specific text, background and link colors overriding pages' defaults; that info disappears almost after every Firefox restart. These settings are set in: Firefox>Options>Options>Content>Colors and having to reset them almost every time I start F is a pain.
An ideal solution would be to allow a user to save their color picks as a separate "theme". I would then prefer to have 3 such saved themes that would be easy to switch at a push of a button:
1. Light text on dark background (dark screen, less contrast) for a dark room;
2. Lighter text on dark background (dark screen, more contrast) for a bright room;
3. Firefox default.
Finally, replacing a color palate with few colors with a color wheel from OS would be ideal and relatively simple to implement.
This may or may not be related but preferred magnification of text on each individual page is also often lost (reset to default).

Desktop images disappeared after upgrade to 10.4.7

I upgraded from 10.4.4 to 10.4.7 using the Combo download available on apple.com. (Every time I tried to download the upgrade through Sofware Update, it kept timing out.) The upgrade fixed the Mac Help app, which was not working.
After installing the upgrade, the Apple-supplied photos I had selected to use as my desktop have disappeared. It's back to the default blue screen. In the Desktop and Screen Saver System Preference pane, the choices are there but are grayed out and not selectable. The Screen Saver works just fine.
I've considered reinstalling 10.4.4 then doing the upgrade to 10.4.7 right after, but I don't know if that will even work. I'd like to have desktop images available, but have already spent several hours trying to figure this out. Any ideas?
