Images distorted at printing

My document looks great and then when I print it my logo, which is a circle, is distorted into a diamond shape.  What should I do?  Thanks!

Which system?
which printer?
which version of Illustrator?
exactly from where do you print? Illustrator or some layout software?
options when printing?
all documents or just this one?

  • Image Distortion When Printing

    Had an ad supplied for a book that was printed digitally. Entire book printed fine except for page with this ad. I got an image drop shadow, but it was way out of position and distorted. Printed claimed it was a bad PDF. All's I did was place a customer-supplied PDF on the page in InDesign, then exported entire book to print-ready PDF. It was fine throughout all proof stages, but when book delivered, I got the strange image distortion. ???
    Thanks.

    Hi peterpica,
    You might try printing this image with a different printer and then check.
    What version of Acrobat are you using?
    There might be some problem of low resolution from the printer.
    So, please check and let me know.

  • Need help diagnosing cause of printing issue w/ image distortion

    Hello, I'm looking for some expert advice for my print issue with image distortion (see above) on my files once setup and proofed by my printer.
    I have a large PSD background file out of photoshop (CMYK, 170mb psd) that is being placed into an InDesign document. No preflight errors, all correct SWOP cmyk settings, and I keep having issues where images distort on my printers proofs - they seem unable to explain the issue and can't offer any other suggestions beyond ("just try resaving/uploading again" which of course has an added fee with each upload...).
    The files are all fine on our end: on-screen, on our cmyk proofs, and our saved PDFs/packaged files. But everytime our printer opens these they seem to have these distorted image problems - scrambled images (almost as if there was a ghosted transparent image in the distorted area), strange lines (see above, and color distortion (usually greens and pinks, see above).
    Is this an issue with my settings/file formats? Maybe the issue lies on our printers end? I'll keep checking this throughout the day and provide quick answers to anyone who can help me get to the bottom of this.
    Adobe forums have been a huge help in years past so I decided this was by best bet for a resolution from those who know more than myself (or my printer), thanks for taking the time to help!

  • My Image CLASS MF4350d printer is not recognized by windows 8-64 bit

    My Image CLASS MF4350d printer is not recognized by windows 8-64 bit any help how can i fix the problem. I just bought new HP computer from Future shop and it came with Windows in it. but this windows8 doesnt have drivers for my printer Image Class MF 4350d. Now I hve no clue how can i fix this isue. Because I checked on Canon website for drivers and downloaded and run the drivers, but no solution for my printer at all.

    Yes. I have the latest version intalled but this hasnt helped.
    I thought it could be to do with the Shuffle not having enough of a battery charge.
    So i plugged it into the wall charger and then tried this didnt work either.
    It wont even play music for some reason. The only information I get in the earpiece when I turn it on is what the battery level is at.

  • Scanning in Mavericks? I can no longer use the scanning function in my HP Officejet 4500. HP says to go through Preview, Image Capture, or Print/Scan in System Prefs. Still doesn't work. Any ideas/similar experiences?

    Scanning in Mavericks? I can no longer use the scanning function in my HP Officejet 4500.
    HP says to go through Preview, Image Capture, or Print/Scan in System Prefs.
    Still doesn't work. Any ideas/similar experiences?

    Sure it is, yet it's called HP LaserJet Professional M1210nf MFP Series *
    Today, I followed your other advice, and deleted the printer, deleted the /Library/Printer/hp folder, downloaded the entire set of driver, re-installed the printer twice, once with the driver, once with Bonjour.
    The Bonjour Printer has the scan option active, but it is doesn't work (refer to above.), it is called M1217nfw
    The Apple Driver Printer doesn't show the scan option at all, it is called M1217nf (as on the http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#HP list.) This model number doesn't exist, as far as I can tell.
    Still, everything works perfectly in Snow Leopard, for a MF printer that has been manufactured years after Snow Leopard was released.
    Why going up in software version means going backwards in compatiblity for brand new product is really the question that puzzles me here.

  • Can't get photoshop elements 12 to print multiple copies of an image with one print job? what to do?

    Can't get photoshop elements 12 to print multiple copies of an image with one print job

    How do I do that? I'm the only user on the laptop - I kind of assumed I already was running the install as the admin.

  • Images fail to print when text is printed as well

    I have gone around in circles with the following problem. I am printing using the method
    printJob=Toolkit.getPrintJob()
    To print content on a page I use the methods on the graphics context that is obtained using
    g=printJob.getGraphics().
    I can print an image using the g.drawImage(...) method successfully untill, I also attempt to print text using the g.drawString() method!!!
    I have made sure that the image is properly loaded before rendering (is rendered fine into a JPanel before printing for test purposes).
    Why would invoking g.drawString() result in the image also being printed? Any suggestions are welcome...

    I am answering my own post... perhaps will help someone else.
    The problem arises when the you attempt to set different clip rectangles as you render various page elements. Avoiding setting clip rectangles will help in avoiding the problem.

  • Some images do not print when in printed documentation

    I have been encountering this problem for over a year now...
    I maintain over 20 projects in RoboHelp HTML. I have numerous
    printed document layouts defined. However, in what appears to be
    random situations, some of my images do not print. They display
    online just fine, but they are not visible in the printed
    documentation. Only a blank gap displays where the image should
    display. And there is no conditional build tag applied to any of
    these images. The reason I think it is random is because, if I
    perform the following test, the images print just fine:
    - duplicate the printed documentation layout
    - remove, from the duplicate copy, all of the pages
    surrounding a page that contains an image that does not print
    - generate the duplicate copy

    I had a similar problem with missing images. I never really
    solved it, but it (apparently) went away. One thing which helped
    was ensuring that none of my images had filenames containing
    spaces.
    In addition, selecting Link images rather than Embed can be
    useful; missing images are then replaced by a red cross which makes
    it easier to locate the problem.
    Also, in Word, you should uncheck Tools > Options >
    Print > Update Fields (that is for Word 2003).

  • Image won't print on pdf form.

    I copied an image (jpeg) onto my pdf form. When I print the form the image doesn't print. The handles around the image are blue instead of black. Can I somehow embed this image onto the form?

    kreichrt,
    I would suggest re-regestering the NI-Reports DLL by:
    Start » Run, then type regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\National Instruments\shared\NI-Reports\NiReports.dll". If this does not help, please provide more information on you version of LabVIEW, operating system, and if the shipping examples that come with LabVIEW work correctly.

  • T530 lcd image distortions - possibly from hinge?

    Hi everybody,
    I am first time poster. I own a T530 and so far I am very satisfied with it - the best laptop I've had, better even then my previous Elitebook and Macbook pro.
    I am posting, because the LCD screen started to show image distortions when changing the angle of the screen. I searched for a similar problem on the forums, but did not find any (maybe because of bad keywords). Anyway, I am hoping that you will be able to help diagnose the problem:
    Image distortions occur when changing the angle of the screen (usually when opening), always on the same angle - this is why I suspect a problem with the hinges. Also, this happens only when opening, not when closing, so this is a one-way problem. See attached pictures and video for a better explanation and demonstration.
    Here is a link to a short video (20s) where the fault is clearly seen: T530 video of lcd fault
    At first this was only rarely and could not be repeated. But now it is worse and can be easily repeated. I suspect it has something to do with the hinges, but not sure. The laptop was never dropped and was always handled with care.
    Any idea what is causing the distortions and how to fix it?
    Best regards,
    VO

    Are you on Intel 4000 or Nvidia?  Something is conflicting the drivers.  Run Double Driver (it's safe and free) and nix the old or duplicate versions.  May need to nix them all and then download and install only the fresh.

  • Correcting image distortion

    I have a distorted image that I need to correct.  I thought this would be a simple task using the Vision Utilities but can't seem to do it.  Can someone help.  I have attached an image.  Thank you

    To me it looks like the image has already been corrected.  All the lines look pretty straight.  What do you need to do to the image?
    If you are just trying to do image distortion correction, there are many programs out there that would do a better job easier than IMAQ Vision.
    If you do need to do it in Vision, you would need to capture an image of a correction grid and create a calibration template.  From this, you would be able to create a corrected image.

  • Vector image distortion upon resize in Adobe Illustrator CS6

    I am experiencing image distortion with vector shapes or outlined letters with scale down. Shift + Alt + Click locks in the proportions of the image as a whole but what happens is individual letters/shapes become distorted resulting in a completely different look. Does anyone know what is wrong?

    Check if "align to pixel grid" is turned on.

  • Unpredicted image distortion and Pixel Bender support

    Hi!
    I'm running my very simple Pixel Bender filter that replaces colors around the image (inverts pixels). Running on various graphic cards I got sometimes unpredictable results (FP10, Flash), when running this filter on a big number of images (image sizes are 1000x200 pixels).
    Images got distorted - the example is included.
    I can't find the exact case when it happens, but I think it may somehow connected with GPU drivers. Sometimes I got a correct image, and sometimes not on the same graphic card.
    Is there a way to force a filter to use CPU instead of GPU? And is there a function in Flex to detect if the Pixel Bender is supported on a current graphic card and turn it off?

    Sorry, I was a bit wrong describing what's happening. I'm running an AIR application (on Windows).
    I'm running a filter on BitmapData with applyFilter (checking if it is not null, before the run). The image size is about 1000x200 or 2000x200. There are about 300 images which are processed in a loop. Here's a piece of my code:
                    var invertColorShader:Shader = new Shader(new InvertColorKernel() );
                    var invertColorFilter:ShaderFilter = new ShaderFilter( invertColorShader );
                    var point: Point = new Point(0,0);
                    for (var i:Number=0;i<_imagesArrayCollection.source.length;i++)
                            bitmapData = (_imagesArrayCollection.source[i].imageBitmap as Bitmap).bitmapData;
                            if (bitmapData != null && bitmapData.width>0)
                                bitmapData.applyFilter(bitmapData, rect, point, invertColorFilter);
    Some times people running my application experience the unpredicted images distortions I have shown above. The configurations range from desktop computers to notebooks , and the above behaviour is random, still cannot find the exact case.
    Is there a way in AIR to find if Pixel Bender uses GPU or CPU and force it to switch?

  • Reducing an image dimensions when printing?

    The image I created is much larger than the final size needs to be.  Nominally letter to Bisiness card. How can I reduce the dimensions of the image so it prints at the correct size?

    Normally, one would create at final size.
    What tool did you use to create the file? - that would be the first choice for editting.

  • Images still not printing

    In my program, 5 images should be printed, but it only prints one image , the last image I create. I am not sure why this happens, please help.
