Images don't scale correctly

I'm creating a responsive design. I have a background image, a logo at the top center, and some square images on the left side. I set all of the images to scale responsively. The logo and background images scale properly (both H and W), but the images on the left only scale W. The height remains the same. How do I get it so they all scale both H and W?
Thanks

Hi BruceMCE
Can you share the project files with us? Would like to check on what are the settings you have done.

  • Visio 2007 saved as WEB page don't scale correctly in Internet Explorer 11

For many years I've been working With Visio 2007 files and saving them as web pages. My customers have then been using the HTML Versions in their versions of Internet Explorer. This has worked fine until IE 11.
Now the scaling don't work as it used to. The Picture is smaller now when loading the HTML Version and it doesn't scale to a larger or smaller picture

    Hi,
Please try the "Emulation Document mode 9 or previous version" to check the Visio web pages.
    Click F12>Click ctrl+8>Choose Document mode
If it displays correctly, the issue may be caused by the compatibility and some CSS properties were not supported in IE11.
Thus, I recommend you upgrade the Visio to a new version or edit the Visio 2007 webpage
through HTML before we view in the IE11.

  • Imported Images don't play correctly

I have 30 individual images (.bmp files) but when I import them to the timeline and press play, iMovie's timeline plays through each image so slowly. The whole 30 images should play less than a second long. It's like each image is treated like a separate movie in iMovie.
Can't I just import the images and play them quickly?
Also, when I save the images as a .mov (Quicktime) file from another application the .mov file is 266k to max of 1.2 MB, but iMovie's exported .mov is 8.4 mb at the smallest. What's up with that. This application seems like it's a waste of money at this point.

iMovie is a video edit app
    not a "claymation maker"
apple-i-click on imported still: 5sec length (or whatever you set in prefs)
you can change that by hand
    you can edit each "clip"
iM handles stills as clips because it is a video edit app (said that?)
so, you can add charming KB effects or transitions or...
    sizes:
what compressor do you choose for export from QT or iM? depending on settings (size, re, fps, codec), 1 min can go from a few kB up to a few hundred MB.... it depends on what YOU decide, that Mac shall do...
This application seems like it's a waste of money at this point.
don't read the manuals/included help files/turtorials at Apple.com, just erase it by dragging it into trash can. every thought of buying a PC/windows machine?

  • I have an image that I removed from its back ground and I would like to scale the bottom portion of the image because its to wide but not have that effect the top portion of the image which is the correct with. but also keep the aspect ratio correct? how

I have an image that I removed from its back ground and I would like to scale the bottom portion of the image because its to wide but not have that effect the top portion of the image which is the correct width. but also keep the aspect ratio correct, keep it looking as natural as possible (its a piece of jewlery) ? how can I begin to do this.

The area circled in red is to wide (the width) the necklace's width is as wide as the models entire chest. And also the length of the necklace it's to long it should come down to the clevage area on the model/woman.

  • Application Express Install - Login and images don't work

I followed the instructions (as best I understood them) to install Apex on my database, and then setup an Oracle HTTP server to work with it.
    The problems I have are:
When i goto the "first" page, which for me is: http://tomcatvs01.traxusers.com:7777/pls/apex/apex_admin
    1. The "Application Express" image at the top doesn't come out, which indicates to me the images weren't setup correctly, despite my best efforts.
    2. I'm not sure what my "username" should be. I remember specifying a desired password when I ran the sql to install the Apex on the database, but I don't remember specifying a username. I assume it is: APEX_PUBLIC_USER
    3. The big problem... whatever Username/password I use, "nothing" happens when I click the "Login" button. With MSIE, it shows the exclamation "error on page." icon on lower left side when I click "Login", which details show this error message:
    Line: 1
    Char: 1
    Error: Object expected
    Code: 0
URL: My URL given above, but mixed with what appears to be the session ID, which is the same URL that i'm taken to when I goto the page in the first place.
It doesn't work with FireFox either, and I've tried the client/browser from multiple machines.
    Advice appreciated.
My setup is to use an Oracle 10g release 02 database.
I installed Oracle HTTP server from the Companion CD on another machine, which already had an Oracle home/client of it's own.
I then installed APEX sql on the database (i first ran the webtoolkit sql) .
On the machine I put the HTTP server on, I copied the apex images to: E:\oracleHTTP\product\10.2.0\db\Apache\Apache\images
And I configured my dads.conf file (in E:\oracleHTTP\product\10.2.0\db\Apache\modplsql\conf) as such:
    # ============================================================================
    # mod_plsql DAD Configuration File
    # ============================================================================
    # 1. Please refer to dads.README for a description of this file
    # ============================================================================
    # Note: This file should typically be included in your plsql.conf file with
    # the "include" directive.
    # Hint: You can look at some sample DADs in the dads.README file

    </Location>

OKay, I kept reading other people's posts and I found the main culprit of my problems. I needed to add a forward-slash to my images directory specification in my dads.conf file. Now my images come out, and my login button "works".
However, I still can't login because i don't know the username (at least now it tells me the credentials are not correct!)
What is the username? I remember when running the @apexins SQL, i specified the password. But I don't remember every specifying a username, I even reviewed the instructions and couldn't find where I might have defined that. Please help! Can i extract it from one of the tables that was created? If so, I'd appreciate pointers as to which one exactly.

  • Slideshow images will not display correctly on mobile phone

    Hello,
I have a website which I used several slideshows, in areas I would typically just used a rectangle and fill with photo.  This was done because my client wants to be able to update the images through business catalyst.  Unfortunately, when viewed on a mobile phone (I am using iOS 7) the slide show images do not display correctly.
What can be done to fix this?  Is there another workaround I should try?
    Thanks!

    Hi Nicole
The images that you are using on parties page are stretched , if you check the image frame you can see that.
As a result the image frame is stretched over the side image , they are not showing properly. If you resize from Muse end , then also it would not be fixed because Muse remembers the image size as you have inserted and when viewed , Muse stretches the image to original size as how it was inserted.
Please resize the images outside Muse , use any image editor like Photoshop and then use the exact dimension of the image frame on page.
    This would resolve the issue.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Image display (Image don't appear the first time?)

    Applet at: http://saladinsite.tripod.com/Project/MiniProject.htm
    Code at and Bottom: http://saladinsite.tripod.com/Project/MiniProject.java
    Hi,
I just created my very first applet. It's a simple quiz. I'll agree it's very unefficient.. but heh.. good for first try.
There is a lil problem I am having. Sometimes when I load the applet, the background image don't show up. Sometimes, the happy/cry images (corresponding to right/wrong answer) don't show up (check the applet to see what I am talkin about) It only happens once tho. It's strange. Take a look at the applet, you will see. Btw: It's not the downloadin of image that cuzes the bug. Same problem happens in appletviewer. If it doesn't appear the first time, the next time you go back to it, it will appear.
My teacher has also struggled with this problem but failed. Hope you guys can help me out.
    Thanks,
    Gant

Its not easy to follow your code without the [ code] +[ /code] tags and your link may as well not be there, the code one. I would resolve this by reducing the overhead ie: stripping down the code as much as I could and then adding them back one by one. DIVIDE and CONQUER!!!
    1. Take out the audio data (I suspect this may be the key problem)
    2. Take out the Thread 'main' and have an actionListener attached to your answer field to handle the changes
    3. Take out java.net and your URLs
    4. use a MediaTracker and WaitForAll()
    5. Strip it down further - AS MUCH AS YOU CAN (you can easily reassemble it quickly again) and then look at the program flow
    6. Add more boolean logic to give you control over all your elements ie
    if(myAnswer==answer) smiley=true;
    else smiley = false;
// or whatever, as I said I could only scan through your code as it is difficult to read in its present format.
Finally: this is good work I like the smileys and the instant %'s, the general layout, good /intelligent use of random() to generate different Q's each time. It's a good application, just remember that applets can be unreliable and I think your basic problem is that you have too much data here.
Strip it right down, focus on your logical flow and then put back the elements one-by-one

  • Spark Image can't scale embedded SWF symbols?

Can anyone help me make sense of this?
Using Flex 4.5.1 (Spark only compile) I've found that the new Spark Image control works inconsistently when loading SWF at runtime and embedding SWF symbols. See these two situations:
    1) OK - Spark image loads a whole SWF in runtime. Swf loads OK and scales up to desired size with perfect smooth anti-aliased edges
    2) Not OK - Spark Image loads an embedded swf symbol as follows:
    <s:Image source="@Embed(source='embedded/GeneralSymbols.swf' , symbol = 'komodoDragon')"  x="250" y="35" height="200" />
    ( or using a bindable class )
And the image is pixelated and totally unusable.
It seems unfortunately that when embedding Swf Symbols ( which is a big element of the Adobe Flex - Flash - Illustrator workflow ) the "vector" images are reduced to bitmaps at their original size and don't scale.
I know spark swfLoader is a possible option - but surely it's too heavy for loading many images?

    Hi Ged_mc.
Did you find the answer to this?
I'm using Flex 4.6 SDK and having the same problem. It's kind of dumb, isn't it?
Especially since I'm migrating an application from Flex 3 to 4.6 and it worked perfectly in the previous version.
    Thanks!

  • IPhoto thumbnails & images don't match

Yesterday when I opened iPhotos a message came up warning that I needed to rebuild my thumbnails. I wasn't worried about this (I have gotten the message before) & clicked OK. Today while adding some photos to iPhoto I noticed thumbnail images don't match the actual images on file. What can I do to restore things so that all matches.

  • Still Images & Need to 'Scale to Sequence'-Vertical vs. Horizontal Picture

I make sequences from still images only. I need to start editing with all images at a Scale (in the Basic Motion section) of 100. When the original image is 720 width x 540 height (a picture taken horizontally), it appears in the timeline at a Basic Motion:Scale of 100 (this is what I want). However, when the original image is 405 width x 540 height (a picture taken vertically), it appears in the timeline at a Basic Motion:Scale of 112.5 and overflows the top and bottom of screen.
For these vertical images, I can then set the Scale manually, or use "Scale to Sequence" and get it to start at 100, but would like to avoid that extra step. Any ideas on how to have all imported images start at a Basic Motion:Scale of 100, whether taken vertically or horizontally?
Thanks, in advance, for giving this problem any thoughts.

I think that your best bet would be to
    1) make the images all the same size - adding black to the edges if necessary. You could add an alpha channel on the ones that you had to add black to the edges.
    or
    2) copy the motion settings from a still that is scaled correctly.
    or
    3) grin and bear it.
I created a file earlier this morning that FCP didn't scale, but now I can't duplicate it. All the files are getting scaled. According to the manual, FCP isn't supposed to scale past 100%, but they might have changed that with a revised version.
    Good luck!

  • Some images don't load in Firefox 5.0, but show fine in IE, Chrome, Safari, & Firefox 3.6.

Some simple GIF images don't display or sometimes only partially display in Firefox 5.0 running Windows 7, on my web site: <br>
    http://www.tulane.edu/~sanelson/eens1110/igneous.htm
    <br><br>
The images are some of those on the right and side below "Origin of Magma". The images do show up in Firefox 3.6, IE9, Chrome, and the iOS version of Safari. What could be causing this?

*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

  • Cover Flow images don't fill Finder window?

    Hi everyone,
I like to use Finder in Cover Flow mode to browse through images. However, if I expand Finder to fill the whole screen, and I expand the Cover Flow pane to take up most of the screen, the Cover Flow images don't expand to fill up the Cover Flow pane. I have the High Res screen, so maybe it looks normal on a lower res screen but I think it's odd that Cover Flow doesn't try to expand the images to fil the space. Is this behaviour normal and is there a way to change it?
    Cheers,
    Jim

Solved the problem myself. I retyped the name of each folder (same name) under Pictures and added a space plus #1 after each folder name. Images appeared almost immediately on the content pane after that was done. Later I will then open up on my hard drive, under Cover Flow, two windows....one from the Pictures Folder and the other one from the Window Documents that contain the images transferred from an old hard drive. I will then select the images I want to keep and drag and drop the images from the Window Documents to the sub-folders in Pictures and that should do it. Attempting to do it from within Bridge will cause the images in Pictures to disappear so this other way is safer. Then I will trash my Window Document folder when I'm done. If anyone has experience this problem this might be a way to see if my solution might work for you. (I formerly had a window system and now have a iMac).

  • Bridge:  Images don't appear in Content Folder

(iMac OS X 10.5.2 (Leopard); 4 GB Ram; PS CS 3; Bridge 2.1.1.9; Raw 4.3.1)
All my images are on the MacIntosh hard drive under Cover Flow view. In Bridge, there are two main folders that contain images:: Window Documents ( deleted images from a color management program from a external hard drive/PC computer that I previously owned)) and Pictures (images transferred from PC to MAC). Problem: No images appear from the Window Documents Folder in the Content Pane in Bridge. Most images don't appear on the Content Pane from the Pictures folder with the exception of a few file folders. In the Preview Pane (Bridge) there are all sort of weird glitches. Previous to this problem I worked 7 1/2 hours dragging and dropping images from files in the Window Document Folder into selected folders in Pictures and deleting the images to Trash that weren't going to be kept. Everything ended well that day....no problems but the next day when I opened Bridge I couldn't access most of my images. At the bottom left hand corner of Bridge it tells me how many images there are but they don't appear. Summary: What I do know is that the images are on the hard drive, my computer is trying to open them up but something is preventing them from appearing in the Content Pane. Before I reach for that second glass of wine, can you please help? I am so frustrated and don't know where to turn for help in this matter. Thank you so very much. PS. I also can find the images in Finder when I right click on the mouse button on a file. I've tried using Tools>;Cache>Build and Export Cache. Images will appear but after I close Bridge they disappear into their deep dark hole!

  • Images don't send properly

Starting since yesterday, I've been having trouble every time my friend tries to send me an image file.
For any other file (such as .txt) the thumbnail on skype comes up,  I click the download button, it asks me where to save it and what to name the file, the progress wheel starts going, and the file transfers as it properly should.
However, whenever my friend sends me an image file (We've tried with numerous different formats such as jpg, png, all of them are affected) the thumbnail comes up, but as soon as I click the download arrow icon, the icon just dissapears and gives no indication what's happened, or any option to select the name or where its saved to. If I click the image it opens in my image program, but it's name has been changed from what my friend sent to something in the format of
^a huge string of alphanumeric characters^pimgpsh_fullsize_distr.[jpg/png/ et al]
additionally, whereas with any other file I can right-click and select "show in folder", images don't offer that option when right-clicked in skype
I've extensively experimented with the ims sending options, trying to see if changing it to a fixed destination folder or auto-accepting but nothing's changed where they're saved. I finally managed to find the file path and found they're being saved to:
    C:\Users\The\AppData\Roaming\Skype\Name#\media_messaging\media_cache
I just tested going the other way with my friend and he has the same problem now too.
The closest thing to a 'solution' my friend and I have found is to .zip the images before sending them. How do I change it back so that I can pick where incoming images are saved to and what they're named?
I'm on version 7.0.0.102 of skype on Windows 7 32bit
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If you right click on the in-line thumbnail to save it then you will get the original unmodified .jpg  or .png file.  It's a cache folder so they could technically call it what they want even if they don't follow the normal file extension standard and file type.  I can rename my picture files all day long to a supported file type and a majority of image viewers won't bark about the extension being wrong before displaying the image.  You could see if Irfanview has an option to disable the warning or switch to another image viewer like the default Windows image viewer, photo gallery, Microsoft paint, or even Adobe Photoshop which probably won't issue a warning as well for a few of the major file type extensions.  In the end all you are viewing is a full size thumbnail which is the closest to the original image if you choose not to right click on the thumbnail and save the image with the original filename and type.

  • When scaling in page setup, 1st page prints correctly, but subsequent pages do not scale correctly/too large for the paper, parts of the text missing

When trying to print in Firefox, and when scaling the page size in page setup, the first page prints correctly, but subsequent pages do not scale correctly and are too large for the paper, with parts of the text are being cut off at the top and right. This is not fixed by checking or un-checking the "ignore scaling/shrink to fit page width" in the print window, or by changing the scaling%.
I am running Firefox 15.0.1, on Mac OS 10.5.8.
The same problem happens in the print preview and if I save the print as a .pdf
I have tried all the fixes in the how to's and others in various forums with no improvement.
This happens every time I try to print a document scaled up or down only in Firefox.

The 2nd page print scaling error has been an issue with Firefox on the Mac since 2011. People at Mozilla have not considered this a major problem. Try printing anything at less than 100% and you'll quickly see how every page after the first page being scaled wrong gets old real fast. The lack of a solution to this issue forced me long ago into using Safari as my primary browser. Good luck waiting until version 21 for a solution. Current release is 18.0.2.
