Images don't show in Pixel Bender Filters.

Just downloaded and installed Pixel Filters into PS5..  No problem doing that or finding the filters within PS, but when I go to use the filters, the image doesn't show.  I'm working on a duplicate of the image, I've turned the GPU down to basic (because I got a warning), but when I try to use a filter . . . nothing.  Any ideas?
Running PS5 Extended, version 12.1x32 on Windows 7.  I have a Radeon HD 4500 series graphics card.
Thanks.

I've got a similar problem.  I am VERY frustrated, as I use Oilpaint for my work.  I have posted on several Forumsstarting 4 months ago, talked to Adobe (who gives no support for this) and have had no help.
I have been through 5 computers, my 6th is on the way .... several cameras and memory cards.  Only one out of 5 computers has no iisue (my wife's).  The problem seemed to be gone, when I bought my 5th computer .... then I bought another camera - now it's back!!!  So, my conclusion is, that this issue has something to do with how information is writtrn onto a memory card.  Maybe some computers "pick up" on some little thing and get confused -  I don't know.  Again, only my laptop works fine, even with thge new camera.
Try what I did,  use another computer - until you find one that works ... friends, family...etc.  Also, I just found out, that the only way to make Pixelbender work when it does not, is to turn off GPU ... although that slows the process down a lot.
If my new laptop does not work with my new camera, I'll get another camera and try again .....

  • Pixel Bender Filters

    I`ve just downloaded the Pixel Bender filters for Photoshop CS4 from Adobe Labs. The speed of those filters is really incredible (GPU accelerated)!
    But the filters itself :(
    Most of them are pretty much useless in my opinion. I hope we will get more usefull filters like a simple gaussian blur or unsharp mask or smart sharpen. Of course we already have those filters in Photoshop, but not at that speed. Pixel Bender is really realtime!

    Thanks, Stephan,
    I wonder how much onboard memory new cards need to handle 8000x8000. It looks like the Technote on GPUs and OpenGL has been revised. I don't see the information that I recall earlier about what features work with various amounts of onboard GPU memory. There are more specifics in the FAQ at the bottom of the technote:
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb404898
    These are the FAQ's that seem most relevant to spec'ing a card:
    >>
    Q. How much video RAM can Photoshop take advantage of?
    A. Photoshop is limited by OpenGL itself on the amount of video RAM it can access. Photoshop can access approximately 500-700 MB of video RAM. 3D, a separate feature from OpenGL, allocates its own GPU resources, and can use as much video RAM as is on the display card. If you load a large 3D volumeric texture, for example, it might use a considerable amount of RAM (such as 1 GB) by itself, leaving less than expected for the rest of Photoshop.
    <<
    So if I'm working with a 3D layer in PS CS4 extended, it sounds like 1.7GB of memory would cover Photoshop's maximum memory utilization and the adapter's 3D rendering overhead.
    >>
    Q. How much RAM do I need on my display card to run faster in Photoshop CS4?
    A. For basic OpenGL functionality, you should have at least 128 MB of RAM on your display card. If you're running Windows XP in general, OpenGL will work best if you have 256 MB RAM on your display card. Most Photoshop work will run faster with between 256 - 512 MB of display RAM. If you do a lot of 3D work, you use Panoramas or large images, or you need to have multiple applications open at the same time that use the GPU, you might benefit by having 512 MB or more RAM on the display card.
    <<
    As I recall, the earlier version of this technote spelled out in more detail what "basic" OpenGL functionality means one image window without too much resolution in my experience.
    The specific mention of XP suggests it needs more memory for OpenGL functionality. Vista virtualizes the graphics adapter and XP doesn't. I've yet to see anything but vague "it works better on Vista" from Adobe tech on what the GPU performance difference is between the two platforms.
    >>
    Q. Does Photoshop take advantage of dual-GPU display cards?
    A. Not at this time.
    <<
    SLI and Crossfire aren't utilized by Photoshop.
    I guess I'll stand pat with the GTX 280 card. I wonder if running Aero features uses GPU memory.

  • Randomly webpages will not load or all images don't show

    I recently started using my cousin's wifi, and she has AT&T. I noticed that when I'm browsing the web, some websites don't load and it says I'm not connected, even though I'm on other websites at the same time and they work perfectly fine. Also, some images don't show up and instead I get the box with the blue question mark. For example, if I search "pizza" on google, the first few images will show, then the rest are the blue question marks. When I use the internet on my ipod, the same blue question marks show up on some images. The two other computers in the house are desktop pcs connected to the same network, and they are working perfectly fine.
    There are even times when I go to a page (most often it is twitter) and it looks like the most basic form of html, everything is left aligned, the text is plain, images don't show at all, and it hardly looks like a website any more. I've tried resetting safari, emptying the cache, and restarting the router. I've also heard about editing the firewall setting, but mine isn't even on. When I go to System Preferences>Network>Assists Me>Diagnostics and then follow through with the steps, it says everything is working fine. When I go to preferences on the safari menu and click appearance, the display images box is checked. I even downloaded google chrome to make sure it wasn't just Safari, but I'm getting the same problems.
    Before I started using the AT&T wifi, I was using the wifi at home for a long time, and there was not a single problem. Even before that, my cousin had a different network that I was using for the wifi and there weren't any problems. So I'm almost certain there is a problem with the AT&T wifi. I really don't know where to begin to fix this, the internet still works, it's just glitchy, so I can't even think of what the problem could be. I don't know if the specific issue is with my computer or the wifi, but I'm hoping I can start here before I call for support. Maybe there is something I can change/edit within my computer that can fix this.

    thanks for the quick reply
    i tried everything you told me but its still not working. When i try and download its redirecting me as every download page should do, so that ok. But when the .dmg and .zip page will start loading it will stay blank and stop loading on.
    I checked the download folder and even the preferences and nothing is showing up. I think its more of a permission problem than from the browser since all browsers are doing this.
    I had Norton 2010 installed and was removed maybe it was the source of the problem but still.
    More help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Teo

  • Pixel bender filters in Photoshop Panel

    Hello,
    I'm writing a suite of Photoshop filters with PixelBender and would like to know if there is a way to call them from a Photoshop Panel built with Configurator without embedding these filters in a flash panel.
    I tried to build a panel with configurator, but in the filters menu, PIXEL BENDER doesn't show. So, I guess I will have to build a flash panel which is close to Chinese for me (read http://forums.adobe.com/message/37408).
    Am I out of luck?
    Thanks!
    Enrique

    Use a 'Run JavaScript' button from ACTIONS/SCRIPTS section of Configurator.
    Then use/modify the following code:
    try{
    var idPbPl = charIDToTypeID( "PbPl" );
        var desc636 = new ActionDescriptor();
        var idKnNm = charIDToTypeID( "KnNm" );
        desc636.putString( idKnNm, "Kaleidoscope" ); /*modify the name of your pixel bender filter*/
        var idGpuY = charIDToTypeID( "GpuY" );
        desc636.putBoolean( idGpuY, true );
        var idFPth = charIDToTypeID( "FPth" );
        desc636.putString( idFPth, "/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS4/Pixel Bender Files/kaleidoscope.pbk" ) /*modify the path to your filter*/
    executeAction( idPbPl, desc636, DialogModes.ALL );
    }catch(e){
         /* catch user cancellations */
    I have it so the default settings are populated and the Pixel Bender dialog is shown (DialogModes.ALL). You could use the scripting listener plug-in to populate specific settings and/or not show the dialog (DialogModes.NO)

  • Applying Pixel Bender Filters to MediaElements

    Hi,
    I want to apply a Pixel Bender Filter to an ImageElement. In general I do this like:
    var shader:Shader = new Shader(new PBFilter() as ByteArray);
    var filter:ShaderFilter = new ShaderFilter(shader);
    var image:Image = imageElement as Image;
    image.filters = [filter];
    Now ImageElement doesn't support the .filters parameter. Are there any plans for this function in a future release of OSMF? Or are there different ways to apply a Pixel Bender filter? Thanks

    If you're working with the MediaPlayer, then you can assign the filter to the MediaPlayer's displayObject property once the image is loaded:
    mediaPlayer.addEventListener(MediaPlayerStateChangeEvent.MEDIA_PLAYER_STATE_CHANGE, onStateChange);
    mediaPlayer.media = imageElement;
    function onStateChange(event:MediaPlayerStateChangeEvent):void
       if (event.state == MediaPlayerState.READY)
          mediaPlayer.displayObject.filters = [filter];
    If you're working with the ImageElement directly (and no MediaPlayer), then you would need to access the element's DisplayObjectTrait, which holds the DisplayObject.

  • Images don't show on my website in Firefox but show just fine in Internet Explorer

    http://www.SurviveDiabetes.com/Essay/Essay1.htm
    I've tried the usual remedies - Images or Animations do not show, Favicon permissions - I'm stumped!
    The image files don't show when I click the favicon (to the left of the URL), then More Information, then Media - other sites show many image files. The Essay1.htm file was created as a doc in Word 10 then published to an htm file - there's an associated Essay1-files folder which contains the image files in the order used. Is Firefox expecting to find this info in the htm file somehow? How do I tell Firefox where to look?

    That is still an MS Office document and Firefox can't display such a file like IE can.
    Firefox doesn't know about files like this to add images:
    *http://www.survivediabetes.com/Essay/Essay1_files/filelist.xml
    You need to use a W3C compliant HTML editor to create your website and embed the images via <nowiki><img></nowiki> tags.
    If you do not have such an editor then look at KompoZer.

  • Still images don't show in source monitor

    Hi,
    Running CS5.5 on a Mac Pro, all updated, latest software.  Using a Black Magic Decklink card for output.
    My problem is I can't see any still images when I load them into the source monitor.  They don't show up when I preview them from the media browser and they don't show up when I import them and load them into the source monitor... Just a black screen.
    I can edit them to the timeline and when I double click on them they load into the source monitor!  But they don't load normally from the project window.
    They are jpegs, but I've tried with png as well...
    Thanks
    Ben Kupfer

    They are way too big. One is maybe ok but several.
    Make the dimension at least half the size, then they probably have no trouble showing up.

  • Adobe Muse with Edge Animate components plays great on the Mac but images don't show in Windows. Any suggestions?

    I am using CC with both Edge Animate and Muse. After uploading to the website host it plays great on the Mac but images don't appear when I'm using Windows. Any suggestions?

    Hi, VelveteenWebDesignGroup-
    You're in luck!  We just added in a feature to the latest version of Edge Animate CC (3.0) to enable the CDN option for OAM publish (what we call the "Animate Deployment Package").  This means that your Animate compositions can now references jQuery and the Animate runtime from the network instead of from the project directory.  (Please note that this will only make sense for Dreamweaver and Muse integration with OAM and won't make sense for InDesign.)
    To turn this on, launch Animate and go to File > Publish Settings.  Then select the Animate Deployment Package on the left and click "Host runtime files on Adobe CDN."  Save and publish, and you should be good to go.
    Hope this helps,
    -Elaine

  • Web Gallery Images Don't Show Up On Web

    I am very new to Lightroom, but have been using Dreamweaver and Photoshop for quite a while now. I took about 10 pictures that I wanted to be on a test web gallery, brought them into Lightroom as their own collection, selected them all and went to the Web tab at the top, HTML Gallery was selected by default and I left everything else at the defualt, just to see what I could get working. I then went to Export, and it export to a folder called 'gallery' on my desktop. I then went to the 'gallery' folder on my desktop, and inside there was a file called 'index.html'. I opened it, and the gallery loaded perfectly with all of the images showing.
    Then, I selected the gallery folder and opened my FTP client, and uploaded the entire folder to my web server, whose domain is, let's say, test.com. I then went to test.com/gallery, and the gallery loaded but without any of the pictures. The outlines of the cells are fine, the defualt text all came up, but in every cell where an image should be, there is a little image missing icon in the top-left corner. This is the same in all browsers, and I have tried using the different kinds of galleries (Flash, etc.) but they all have the same sort of problem. The flash gallery specifically just says 'Loading' and hangs there, even though when running off of my desktop it works just fine.
    In addition, I have tried configuring Lightroom's built-in FTP uploader to upload directly instead of exporting and then uploading, but that had the same results.
    I have attached a picture which will show the difference between when it is on my desktop and when it is on the web.
    Is there something I'm missing? Is there a file I'm supposed to rename for when it goes onto the web? I made sure that none of the folders I had the pictures in, none of the collections, and none of the names of the pictures themselves had spaces or punctuation so that it wouldn't mess up any coding that Lightroom would try to automate. I'm not familiar with the Lightroom settings and would really appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

    Well, I re-read what was said in that forum and made those changes. I'm not quite sure what the SDK was for in this case, I just went to the folder, right clicked, and opened the files I needed to edit with Notepad. Then I edited, saved, re-opened Lightroom, re-exported, re-uploaded, and...drumroll...it worked perfectly.
    Thank you all very much for your help. I had been using the Trial version of Lightroom, but after reviewing all of the other features and, finally, getting the web gallery feature to work just fine, I think I'm going to purchase it!
    I'm going to send in a feature request through the little option on the side of this Forum page, and request that either those options be used by default (I just had my friend upload them to his Unix server and it worked fine on his), or that there should be an option to choose what type of server you're using. I don't think a user should have to edit program files, especially for something so simplistic. Thanks again.

  • Images don't show on slideshow screen

    Do the IPhoto files have to be in a certain order in specific files. I was making a slideshow and trying to organize them and my slideshow worked find and then suddenly, all of the images show at the top but the screen is black. Can anyone tell me where the file needs to be or what I've done wrong. Thanks

    redchick,
    Are you saying you did your own organization in the iPhoto Library folder that is in your Pictures folder. If you did, then read these links...
    Two Apple kbs for you to read
    Don't tamper with files in the iPhoto library folder
    About the iPhoto Library folder
    since you have very little you can start all over and import the images from the old library.
    Close iPhoto
    Rename your messed up iPhoto Library to "iPhoto Library_old"
    Drag this library to your desktop
    Hold down the Option key and launch iPhoto
    This is the window you will get
    Create a new library or choose a library to open
    Choose to create a new library
    Once this new empty library is open it is time to import the images from your old library
    Go to File>add to library
    Navigate to the old library on your desktop and highlight it in the window, then click the "open" button.
    iPhoto will start importing the images from your old library
    This is what to expect:
    Your images will be imported in nice dated rolls. (make sure your view is set to sort by rolls to see it) There are a couple of caveats to this. You will get rolls named "Originals" These rolls will contain your video clips and your original images that you had edited. If you had RAW files they would be in those rolls too (I don't do RAW, so I don't know for sure) Delete what you don't want from those rolls. You will also get the jpeg pointer files to your video clips imported. They will just be jpegs and will not point to the video clips anymore as iPhoto made new ones when the clips were imported again. You can delete those. they should be in a roll right next to the newly imported video clips so they are not hard to find. The thumbnail files don't get imported as iPhoto makes new ones when the images are imported.
    Once all you images have been imported, check through the library and make sure everything looks ok.
    You can now start making your Albums, and do your keywords or any other organizational steps.
    You can also delete the old library on the desktop.
    It is also a good time to backup this new library to CD/DVD by burning the iPhoto LIbrary folder in the Finder, or copying the iPhoto Library folder to an external drive formatted for Macs, or copying the iPhoto LIbrary folder to an iPod.
    Good luck and keep me updated on your progress!
    Lori

  • Safari says not connected to internet on certain sites when connection is good and IMG[] images don't show up anymore?

    I recently updated to 10.6.8 from 10.5.x and have been having some issues.  First, Safari will say that my computer is not connected to the internet, but it is.  I can be on YouTube, for example, and then try to go to eBay, and it will say not connected to internet, but I can go to Google and it will be fine without doing anything.  Almost like it cannot connect to the server, but the message is that I'm not connected to the internet.  I can turn Airport off and back on and get on most pages that wouldn't open originally.  It's not site-specific.  Sometimes it's Google, Facebook, eBay, YouTube, forums, etc. and other times those same sites work just fine.
    The next problem, which I feel is related is that IMG[xxx] images won't open some of the time now on forums that have Photobucket and Tinypic IMG codes inserted into threads.  It will just show the blue box with a question mark.  I think that's because my Safari can't open the image hosting websites because sometimes when I click on the blue box to open the link, it says not connected to the internet and Photobucket seems to be one of the regular problem sites.
    I've tried clearing my cache, reseting Safari, and a few other suggestions on here from similar problems, but I haven't seen a post describing my same issues exactly.  I have not tried Firefox and would prefer to keep using Safari.

    Try repairing permissions.
    Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
    Select the startup  disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
    Select:  Repair Disk Permissions
    This can take a few minutes and better to not use your Mac while it's running.
    When it's finished, quit and relaunch Safari to test.

    Image numbers show on each place holder.

  • Some Photoshop images don't show

    Searching Adobe web documentation did not turn up an answer. Win7 64-bit, lots of RAM, Ivy Bridge i7 3970 processor. (i7 for sure... I think I got the processor number right...)
    I use Bridge CC. *Some* of my Photoshop (CC) images are remaining icons only. Most open as thumbnails in Bridge. Perhaps this is because these files have multiple layers? Tiffs open.
    Note: I have file handling in PS CC set to ALWAYS maximize compatibility.
    I do notice that if I right click a working thumbnail I see a line in the context menu "Generate a high-quality thumbnail" This is missing when I do the same thing on a file represented by icon only.
    Double-clicking one of these icons opens the right file in Photoshop CC.
    Any suggestions of how to get everything to show?

    Thanks for the correction. This matter was easily resolved but saving files with maximized compatability.

  • Rollover images don't show up

    I have a menu in which the menu items change color when the
    user rolls the mouse over them. I am trying to recreate this using
    rollover images. I have inserted two rollover images on the slide.
    Only the first one shows up. For the second one, you can see the
    mouse change when you roll over the target area, but the image
    itself does not show up. The image should appear in the target
    area. The first and the second image are close but do not overlap.
    Also, I've played with the order, and that doesn't seem to help.
    Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

    Hi all
    I'm updating this thread for anyone that may have been
    following and anyone that may search later. I connected with Linda
    and observed her project. Unfortunately, that failed to reveal
    anything immediately correctable. So I asked her to send me the
    project so I might have a play. Here is what corrected the issue.
    The image used for the rollover was in .BMP format. While it
    appeared just fine from the Library, it refused to show itself on
    rollover until it was converted to a different format. I converted
    from .BMP format to .PNG. After re-importing back into the project
    as .PNG, the rollover magickally appeared.
    Go figure! Rick
