Images edited externally do not appear in catalog.

Before I upgraded to CS6 and ACR 8.1, LR would properly catalog the externally edited file and it would stack next to the original file.
But now, when I save the file in Photoshop, I would see that the filename change from RAW to Tiff, and the image would save into the source folder. However, there is no file of it in my LR catalog. I would have manually import the externally edited file into the catalog, which I'm sure this is not how it's supposed to work.
Any ideas on how to solve this issue? Thanks very much in advance. This is frustating for the workflow. :/

UPDATE:
The problem is this: I have a server running WHS, which houses all my media.
I tested this hypothesis by putting some raw files on my desktop and when I externally edited one of those, LR worked properly and cataloged the externally edited file.

Images on Facebook do not appear when using Safari on my Macbook Pro (I've tried Google Chrome too with the same result). This makes me think it's a setting within OS Mavericks that I'm missing. I have not seen this issue on any other computers. This only occurs on my, and others' profile pictures on my profile page and on the news feed, not photos that are posted in albums or on walls. and yes, i have images enabled in Safari.
In safari the images don't appear, and in their place is a small blue "?" square >>.
In Chrome it appears as a broken image link >>
Has anyone encountered this? Is there a fix? It is very annoying.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Edit option does not appear after adding a contact from inbox

i have outlook 2013 32 bit with an exchange account. Normally i can hover over a contact. click on downward arrow at extreme right, this will give me the full details. I will get a add button. on clickin on add button , it shows editable fields
and i can save the contac. after saving instead of add button, i will see the edit button until a move the focuc or contacts get minimized. however for some reason recently the edit option does not appear at all. right after saving opption goes back to add

It may be synchronization issue.
Please first check if this user has been added to contact list. If they have been in contact list then restart outlook to check if this add button still exists.
Sometime we add user to contact lists, even users have added to contacts list, the Add button also appears instead of Edit button.
If this issue persists, please let me know.

Images edited in Photoshop not showing up correctly in Lightroom after saving

Hi,
I recvently got Adobe cloud and upgraded from Lightroom 3 to 4. Since the upgrade I have been having issues with Lightroom not correctly displaying images edited in Photoshop. Instead of the photoshop image it creates a new jpeg and displays that in the library. the PSD does not get loaded into the library.
I am taking a jpeg from my library and shoosing the edit in Photoshop function. I am selecting edit a copy, but have tried it with original and with edit a copy with lightroom adjustments as well with the same results.
In Photoshop I am duplicating the base layer, upscaling the image, running some filters, adding dsome adjustment layers.
I save the image in Photoshop format back to the original folder where the initial jpeg was in the Lightroom library. I save it with maximize compatibility on.
When I go back to Lightroom, the catalog displays two files, the initial jpeg and an identical copy to it, NOT the new photoshop file with alterations. If I go to the folder the images are housed in in Finder using the show in Finder command both images link to the same original jpeg. The photoshop edited file is there in the folder but does not show up in Lightroom unless I drag and drop it.
I have turned off all filters and made sure the sort is sorting by name. The image does not automatically show up in Lightroom after editing. Any suggestions?

PS. I did search the topic and there are threads from 2007 and lightroom 2 but their solution was to start from scratch essentially and I have a carefully tagged, starred, and labeled catalog of 30,000+ images and really don't want to do that

Images that are edited in Photoshop will be displayed automatically in Lr only when the image-file saved in Photoshop is the same as the one opened from Lr.
You say you open a JPG from Lr, then edit it in PS by - among other things - adding some layers. Layers are not supported in the JPG-format so you have to either save it as a psd or as a jpg-copy.
In either case this is not the same image file as the one opened in Lr, so it will have to be imported into Lr to show up. If you would flatten your image after editing in PS and then do a <save> to your JPG - not a <save as> - it will show up in Lr.
PS: the only exception is when you open a Raw image from Lr in PS and you save it in PS in the file format specified in Lr for external editing. The saved file will automatically show in LR.

Deleted Items from External HD Not Appearing in Trash

I have an iomega external hard drive and have had recent issues trying to trash deleted items.
I delete the items and they are removed from the hard drive, but they do not appear in the trash and therefore are unable to be "trashed" so that space is freed up.
I did some research and found that this is most likely an issue with ghost files still present on my external. Through use of the Terminal, I made hidden files appear on my external, but I was unable to re-delete the items that I had previously deleted/was not even able to find the items I had previously deleted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. As mentioned earier, this problem just surfaced.

Items Deleted On External HD Not Appearing In Trash Bin

I recently used Araxis Find Duplicate Files to remove some mp3s from my external hard drive (files are not stored in iTunes). After the scan finished, it yielded about 60 GB worth of duplicates. I made sure that the "move to trash bin" option was selected. I hit delete and now the files are no longer in the archived folder, but they also do not appear in the Trash. Stranger yet, the deletions hasn't freed up any additional space either. I have used Data Rescue 3 to try to attempt to locate the deleted and missing files, but it can't find them. Does anyone know what else I can try to find these files, or at least recover my hard drive space that seems to have dissappeared? I have used disk utility to repair permissions and such but it doesn't solve the problem.

Some images do, some do not appear in Preview or Publish

I imported a FrameMaker file, which generated its own folder
and the file with all of its screenshots are in that folder. Within
RoboHelp (7, FlashHelp) all images appear as expected. When
compiled for Preview or for Publshing, however, some images do
appear while others with the same path do not appear.
What is going on?
Am I missing something?

Yes I do and that is another problem I will check the box for each item I do want to show up
in the menu bar when I check the box it will stay checked until just when I'm starting to close the
box? This really weird as I said in my 1st post I have to go to the System Library>CoreServices
then the folder Menu Extra's I'm just about at the point of reinstalling my OS unless someone
can tell me why this is happening

External HDD Not Appearing

Hi All,
I'm trying to connect a Windows HDD to my Mac via a USB - SATA cable as the windows laptop has died. The disk has booted fine but does not show up in finder or Disk Utility. Any ideas why its not appearing? Could it be the adapter I'm using as it is from another external HDD I own.

Images and video do not appear when project is published

Photos on shared disk not appearing in catalog

Hi, I recently went bi-platform (IMac and Windows computers being used). I have a home network. My Lightroom cat and all my images originally resided on my Windows computer's harddrives (four on board). After purchasing the IMac, I installed Lightroom on it and copied my cat files to it as well. All my photos continue to reside on my Windows computer's four internal harddrives so I turned on Sharing on the Windows computer for a test drive. (Yep, the photos are backed up to external drives). Anyway, when I launched my cat on the IMac in Lightroom, the thumbs and corresponding data appear just fine but when I point the thumb to the photo file on the shared harddrive, the thumb in the catalog disappears. Major bummer! Fortunately, I haven't done a bulk "find" otherwise I would have lost the entire catalog contents.
Will Lightroom not work with photos stored on shared internal harddrives via home network?? I have read that it does work with photos stored on external harddrives but I would prefer to keep my photos on the four internal harddrives.

Edited RAW photos not appearing in Lightoom V2 automatically

I have just upgrade to Lightroom 2 and I now find that if I edit my Canon CR2 RAW images in Photoshop CS3 directly i.e. CTRL +E (not CTRL+ALT+E) and then use SAVE, the image which is now a TIFF file does not automatically appear in the Lightroom catalog along with the original.
Is this a problem with V2 or is it something I'm doing wrong or a setting in Lightroom/Photoshop not set correctly.
I'm using Windows XP SP2, 2G RAM

How do images edited in CS5 not return to LR3?

I have just upgrade to CS5 and then downloaded LR3 trial version as I am waiting for the software to arrive.
I was editing a shot in LR3, then decided to edit in CS5 for content aware fill to remove some wires that I could not work around. After completing the edit in CS5, it asked me to save the images and I said yes. After that, it did not return the file to LR3. After doing several other edits, I finally did a search on my system to find the images that I edited in CS5.
To my surprise, they were in different directories on my system!
Is there something that we now have to specify to get them to return to LR? I would like to keep the images all in one collection since this is what I have done in the past.
It also did not ask me when going to CS5 if I wanted to use the edited version like it did in V1 & 2. Has anyone else had this happen?

Did you have any filters set in LR to exclude any other images? ... there seems to be a bug in PS returning images with ratings, color labels and filters ... or any of the above. Try removing the filters to see if your edited image is there.

Why are my Spry Image Slideshow slide titles not appearing sometimes?

I inserted a Spry Image Slideshow with Filmstrip Basic widget using 3 photos to try it out. It is working fine except for the slide titles.The slide titles appear in Firefox and in Opera, but not in Safari. Haven't tried it in IE browsers yet.
Any idea why the titles are not showing up all of the time?

But now I am not able to add any dimension or member in this application. even I am not able to add,edit or delete any member in the same application. I am not able to change any properties of member as well as dimension.
If I created any new application in the planning then all the buttons are appear in that application so, I can Add,Edit, delete any member or dimension in this application.

Did you convert the application to EPMA?, if so then you can only edit members in EPMA not in Planning^^^A pox upon EPMA.
OP, did you really go through the step of converting a Classic app to EPMA? That would be pretty dramatic if true. And painful, as you have maybe found.

Lacie external HD not appearing on desktop but recognized in disk utility

Hi,
I have a Lacie 1Tb external HD. It worked fine when I first purchased it about 4 months ago but recently when I connect the external to my MacBook, it is not recognized in Finder nor does it appear on the desktop. However, when I open disk utility the external is recognized but I can't verify or repair it and there is no "mount point" associated with this drive. Has anyone encountered and fixed this type of problem.
