Images flashing up at bottom of screen?

Hey folks,
I have a 1 month old powerbook G4. I have a recurring problem that is hard to describe. I have images that look like other windows that are open in the background that are open flashing up in the bottom third of my screen. They seem to go across the whole screen but are hard to describe as they only appear for a split second. They may not be other windows - it could be blocks of colour. This has happened in imovie, photoshop and when using explorer. I've been on to apple tech support and they said they have never heard of it, and to check here and keep a log of it. I cannot replicate this flashing but it's doing my nut in. Anyone heard of this, or how to fix it or to make it happen. Any help would be appreciated.

This icon indicates that the SIM card's own text message storage is full. On your E72 go to Messaging > Options > SIM messages and delete as appropriate.

Is this in the normal browser window or in (smaller) pop-up windows?
It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high.
* Use Restore or Maximize in the right-click context menu of the Taskbar icon to set focus to the Firefox application if you do not see the Firefox window.
* Open the system menu of that Firefox window via Alt+Space and see if you can move and resize that window (use the keyboard cursor keys).
If that works then first close all other open Firefox windows and then close Firefox via "File > Exit/Quit" to save that setting.

Previous image flashes on the screen occasionally when opening safari. Even after clearing history and cache.

Occasionally an image from a previous website appears briefly when opening safari. I'm afraid it might do it with a site that has private information and other individuals use this ipad. Is this a problem fixed in the updates to the iOS or something different entirely. The image flashes sometimes even after clearing history and cache.

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Random transition jitter at bottom of screen

Hello. When I preview the transitions in the simulation mode of DVDSP, they all work fine. But when I build and format/burn DVDs, random transitions experience jittering and image ghosting at the bottom of the frame. Basically, it looks like part of the outgoing footage remains at the screen bottom and flashes as the incoming footage appears (through whatever transition I have chosen). Every time I rebuild my DVD and burn it again, it happens to different transitions; there is no consistency. Point is, I don't want to have to remove them all or make all of them as independent MPGs in FCP or AE. Any suggestions from people who have experienced similar? Thanks.

I am not really that familiar with using DVDSP's transitions. But a start may be to personalise the encoding settings in the DVDSP prefs.
It is however strange that the problems change positions. To purge these rendered files you will have to venture into the DVDSP project (show package contents). Then locate the rendered menu's folder and delete these (the mpegs not the folder).

Most efficient way to handle Image sizes with respect to Mobile Screen Size

I and trying to find the best possible way to manage Images with respect to the size of mobile screen.
If I have an image that is best fit on mobile screen size (176 x 144) then how can I make it best fit for (128 x 128) screen size ?

Hey Rizzz86,
You could also scale down a higher resolution image to fit smaller screens, however you will find that resizing by factors other than 2, 4, 8 is harder to achieve with a decent quality and much slower on lower spec devices.
You could also display 128x128 image centered on 176 x 144 screen with black borders around it.
It will look not that bad (i.e. borders of 24 pixels top and bottom and 8 pixels left and right) and will cost you nothing in terms of space or processing.
In the end having an image in 3 different sizes will not increase the MIDlet size by much, unless you are having tens of such images (for example custom UI elements).
Best solution is to have a bit of both I think. Personally I use scaling down by factors that are powers of 2 and displaying with the black borders.

Aperture 2.0.1-images flash by uncontrollably

I just updated to 2.0.1 and now when I go to an album or project, the images flash by uncontrollably. It only stops when the last image in the project/album is reached. In other words, I cannot select an image at all. I have tried rebooting the computer but no change. Any ideas?

The problem turned out to be with Tiger. It occurred with any program where there was a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom. The fix was doing a safe boot (restarting holding down the Shift key), then restarting again.

Screen flashes between battery level and screen saver

Hi
When I charge my iPhone up in my new iH8 alarm clock I get the "switch to airplane mode" message - fair enough. But once its been charging a few minutes the screen comes on by itself and then flashes between the image of the battery and the screen background image. It also makes an annoying click too... This flashing seems to go on indefinitely.
Any thoughts?

If this is the first generation Apple TV, then unfortunately it sounds like the unit has failed. You might try removing all the cables for a few minutes and then powering it back up, however even should this prove successful, the Apple TV may well do the same thing again shortly after.

How do I get my printer to match the colours of the image as I see it on screen? My HP Office Jet Pro L7680 printer tends to print my images with a bias towards red compared to the image I am seeing on screen with Lightroom 5 using a Mac with Retina 5 screen. Would appreciate any expertise on how to calibrate the printer to the screen

You have two options. The first method costs nothing but is not as accurate and the second means buying hardware and investing some time. The fastest way to get things closer is to download the color profile from the printer manufactures site for the printer and paper combination you are using. Install it on you Mac and relaunch LR. This is best when the paper and printer are both from the same company; in your case, HP. If the paper is not made by HP, you can often find profiles for your paper/printer by going to the paper maker's web site and doing a search for the appropriate profile.
The other alternative is to purchase a piece of hardware such as the ColorMonki which can be used to not only profile your monitor for color balance but also you printer/paper as well as your camera. When all of your devices agree on what color 118,118,118 means, you get the same color from capture to print but this is also an expensive option and there is a lot of time involved in building your own color profiles. The results however, are much more accurate.
Once you have a color profile installed, the next step involves doing soft proofing. Once you have your image looking the way you want it to in LR, open it in the soft proof option. This will show you how your print will look using the color profile for the paper/printer you are using. During the process, you will be shown the print on your screen which may look off. Use the small triangle in the upper-right corner of the histogram to turn on the out-of-gamut warning. This will highlight any parts of your image which contain colors your printer can't handle. Use the rendering intent options to decide how you want these colors handled (relative or perceptual). Check them both and use the one you like best. You can also make additional changes at this point if required before you generate the JPG image. Make sure to save it as a max quality JPG using the sRGP profile. Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

How do I get Javascript to work? It is enabled in options but nothing happens when I select something that begins "javascript" on the status bar at the bottom of screen.

When I tried to download a file from the Canon U.S.A, I clicked on the "I agree - begin download" button and nothing happened. The information in the status bar at bottom of screen, when the mouse cursor is over the download button is "javascript:downloadFile()". I got following from the error console -
Error: The stylesheet http://www.usa.canon.com/wsss/GeneratedPages/wsss_xsl/global.css was not loaded because its MIME type, "text/html", is not "text/css".

This sort of thing seems to happens whenever whenever javascript is involved.

I checked out the "Unable to download or save files" section. The only thing that seemed applicable was the "Reset download actions" section. I renamed the mimeTypes.rdf file to mimeTypes.rdf.old but it didn't seem to have any effect on downloading the file I wanted. There was still no response when I asked for the download.
I have noticed another problem that occurs when I try to download this file. I exit Firefox, then try to restart it. But nothing happens. I have discovered that in the Task Manager that the Firefox process is still running. When I end the Firefox process in the Task Manager, I am then able to restart Firefox.
By the way, I am able to download the file using Internet Explorer without difficulty.

Dynamic position of an image at the right bottom of the browser window

Dear Dreamweaver-community,
I'm trying to have an image positioned at the bottom right of a html-page. It is embedded in a table so that it doesn't interfere with the rest of the site's content (which it would if I simply used an absolute position). The height of the table is height=100% and I thought that this would make sure that if the browser window is being dragged smaller or bigger the image stays at the bottom right (just as the content stays centered if you set the width of a table to 100% and center it). But if you make the browser window higher the image won't keep sticking to the right bottom but will stay in one place while the rest of the page (bottom) is simply filled with the black background color. Do you have any ideas what I'm missing out on? Is there something like a valign-tag for a table or the page's body that dynamically keeps the image at the bottom right position no matter how you change the size of the window? I hope you can help me. Thank you!

I also tried resetting settings all to no avail ...I looked up some advice and watched utube video advice on how to fix without success..

The Retrospect you used way back when is no longer around. The company was sold and that company produced a new version of Retrospect - Retrospect 8.x
So, as you've been told, you would have to be running a Tiger system with an old version of Retrospect software (5.x or 6.x - you would need to know) assuming you can find the software.
As best I can remember you cannot extract files from a Retrospect backup except using the software since Retrospect did not normally make a file by file backup rather it created an archive of the files in the backup. I'm assuming that the EMC/Retrospect people have told you that old Retrospect backups are not accessible by Retrospect 8.x?
