Images for Power Point

What size do you make photos to place in Power Point?

Nobody can know. You have not provided any system information, details about your files, their locations, what your actions do and a gigazillion other things. That being said, there could be equally a gigazillion things triggering such alerts like files being blocked by virus scanners or whatever or simple performance issues on your storage devices causing so much delay that the script wrongly thinks that something didn't work.

  • Correct dimensions for Power POint Slides

What would you all recommend for dimensions for Power Point slides so that they fill up the screen
with no border. My customer is cramming too much text on each slide and it is beyond title safe, going to near edge of TV screen upon viewing.
    I have sequences that are both 16 x9 (720 x 480) and 4 x3 .
    Thanks,
    Al

I agree with that much text it is not looking good on the TV that I am testing it on. On computer it is better. I thought about the color layer below the slide but the design of the slide has 2 color boxes, (one horizontal, one vertical) on it and putting a layer below doesn't look good so far.
I am probably going to have to edit each slide and shrink the font and increase the borders.
I am talking to the admin who made them today.
A bigger problem is that they have trouble playing the DVD's I make with iDVD in their PC environment. The DVD's either play jerkily or not at all compounded by the fact that the people have lost all the remotes to their DVD players and can't pick a chapter. So I am trying to come up with work around.
    Thanks for response,
    Al

  • Using Apple Remote for Power Point

Is it possible to use the Apple Remote (that comes with IR iMac G5s) to control & scroll through Power Point presentation files on my iMac? If so, is it necessary to link that file through Front Row (of which none of the current choices include Power Point, the closest thing being choosing iPhoto a choosing an existing slide show)

    I've never tried it.
Suggest that you cross-post over in the Front Row Forums where the majority of the FR users hang out.

  • Aesthetic standards for power point on ItunesU

Does anyone know if apple has a document or webpage that has the aesthetic qualities that should be reflected in a powerpoint if its expected to be viewable on an ipod? i.e.; 24 point font, high contrast colors, etc?
    Thanks mucho,
    Michell

I believe PowerPoint will also accept AVI files. If you want to export the program to WMV format, you'll need flip4mac or Popwire's plugin. For MPEG-1 or AVI formats, you should be able to export directly in QuickTime or in FCP. You can also use a program like Sorenson Squeeze or Cleaner.

  • Is there any program in the Creative Cloud I can use as an alternative for Power Point?

I need to make a powerpoint presentation and I was wondering if any of the Apps in the Creative Cloud work efficiently for this?

Not really. The Adobe equivalent would be Captivate and it's not part of CC. Depending on what you need, you could creatively use Edge Animate, Flash or Muse to build a web-based slideshow and run it in fullscreen, though.

  • Transparent background for power point

Hello All,  I want to include a picture of the earth from space in a powerpoint presentation.  I cropped it to a circle in PSE and saved it as a tiff as I want there to be no visible background.  When I insert the photo into powerpoint, it's on a clear background.
The effect of the spinning earth on the screen is not very effective when the earth is attached to a white squre.  Does anyone know how I can get just the circle image of the globe and no background?
    Thanks,
    Michael

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

  • Video for Power Point

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good cross-platform video codec that will run in PowerPoint for Mac as well as PowerPoint for PC? Client wants to embed a video clip into a PowerPoint that will run on both Mac and PC.
.mov and .wmv are out of the question. I usually use MPG-1 for cross-platform video... does that sound about right to you?
Thanks in advance for your help -- Jerry

I convert .mov's to AVI before putting in PPT. The conversion isn't great though - hopefully there is a better choice.

  • I cannot import Power Point slides into my presentation...

Hello, have created brand new project with Captivate 7 and tried to import a Power Point slide I made seconds earlier, and I get an error message.  I tried the same with a new project in Captivate 6 (I have 6 and 7) and I get the same message.  See image.  Power Point was closed when I tried to import it.  Any ideas what could possibly be happening?
    Thanks for any help!!!

As per the Captivate 7 manual:
    1. In an open project, Select File > Import > PowerPoint Slides.
    2. Navigate to and select the PowerPoint presentation file format that you want to import.
    3. Click Open.
    4. Decide where to place the imported PowerPoint slides in the Adobe Captivate project. Add the slides to the end of the project, or click a slide in the list and add the PowerPoint slides after that slide.
    5. Click OK.
    6. In the Convert PowerPoint Presentations dialog box, do the following:
    a. Select the PowerPoint slides to convert to Adobe Captivate project slides.
    b. Set navigation preferences for the selected slides.
    c. If you want to link to the PowerPoint presentation, select Linked. If you want to embed the PowerPoint presentation, deselect Linked.
    7. Click OK.
The PowerPoint slides are imported into the Adobe Captivate project and they appear in the designated location. If necessary, you can change the order of the slides.
    Hope this helps!

  • ." .PPS" - MS Power Point attachment to an Email

To clarify my previous question dated 05.11.2010:
I use Gmail account on my IPAD [3G type]. Receiving an E-mails with an attachment having the suffix of * .pps * for Power Point file, I tap the attachment, timer srart cycling but files are not openned. What should I do to open such files?
I'll appriciate directions for the solution.

That file type is not listed as being supported by the iPad's native mail program. It may be able to b opened in an app such as GoodReader. Also, I think others have said that if the sender changes the file extension to ,ppt it should open in the native mail app.
    Mail attachment support
Viewable document types: .jpg, .tiff, .gif (images); .doc and .docx (Microsoft Word); .htm and .html (web pages); .key (Keynote); .numbers (Numbers); .pages (Pages); .pdf (Preview and Adobe Acrobat); .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint); .txt (text); .rtf (rich text format); .vcf (contact information); .xls and .xlsx (Microsoft Excel)

  • Exporting from Keynote to Power Point

I live in Kenya in East Africa and run photographic safaris. I use Canon digital equipment (still photography) and at the end of each safari set up a slide show of the better images taken on the safari and give it to the guests. I present my images using power point as this seems to be the most universal way to present slides.
I own a 17 inch Power Book G4 and also a 17 inch Mac Book Pro. I use Aperture on both Macs.
On my new Mac Book Pro I have problems. After editing in Aperture, I then export my versions ( in any format - Tiff, Jpeg ) to a file and then import them from that file to power point. Power point seems to remove all the punch of the images making them look very flat and hardly worth looking at. Why?
I have managed to by pass this problem on my Power book G4 by exporting images from Aperture as Tiffs, these seem to work quite well when they are imported into Power point, except the files are huge.
What this means is that I own a Mac Book Pro but don't use it as it can't do what is required. I hope I am doing something wrong or that there is an alternative method to presenting slides.
I have Keynote, which works well. Sadly most of our guests are PC users and so would like the slides in a PC format. Keynote allows you to convert to power point, but here again the picture once in power point looks flat, Why?
Is there a better method than Power point to present slides? In a presentation I like to have text, single and multiple images per slide.
I have used iDVD, but there are not enough pixels on a TV screen (when showing still images) to give you a punchy clear picture, or so I am told.
I would love any suggestions to help with this problem.

    Hi Ngiri
It's not really clear to me how you or your guests are assessing your "flat" photos - on a computer screen, via a video projector, on a TV?
Most of my photo slide shows are created using DVDStudioPro - look fantastic. Distributed as a PAL DVD "best viewed on a TV".
Lately I have tried some photo presentations using Keynote, and then exported to Powerpoint. Photos looked fine, but PP is unacceptable. I then tried exporting from PP straight to PDF. Using a PDF for a presentation was a revelation - photos look very good. The PDF is a small cross platform file. However, I still prefer DVDStudioPro, but it takes much longer to create a DVD.
Have you actually tried Keynote straight to iDVD? Or a slideshow created within iDVD? (Lots of tutorials available).
I have used iDVD, but there are not enough pixels on
a TV screen (when showing still images) to give you a
punchy clear picture, or so I am told.
???I don't understand why anyone would tell you this???
Of course, Aperture could be the problem...or your Mac Book Pro is incorrectly setup.

  • Power point 2004

    Hi All-
Didn't see a forum for Power Point 2004 problems, so hope its ok to start here:
I created a PPT presentation with mostly inserted "photos from file", then added a few QuickTime video clips, several MB's each, added some graphics here and there, and saved it all to my desktop; total size of file is now 12 MB. The problem occured when I re-started my computer, after being in sleep mode only, the entire time during creation of the file.....when I tried to open my ppt presentation I received an error message that states 'Can not open file because file is either corrupt, in use, or in a format that PPT doesn't recognize.'
I've tried opening it by dbl-clicking on icon, holding down CTRL + click and OPEN WITH, and have also tried OPEN from the FILE menu within PPT, and all with the same error message. Also tried from the MOST RECENT list.
If I put it on the 'Network' at work and try to open it on a co-workers PC, will that work? and if not, what else can I try?? This was meant to be a xmas gift to my family back home in the states!
Thank you so much for any help you offer......
    Cheers,

Prana72,Welcome to Apple Discussions. There won't be a Forum for Powerpoint as these forums are for Apple made products - although you're more than welcome to discuss other items like that here.
I've never come across a file getting corrupted whilst sat on the desktop it sounds very like this has actually happened. I would try opening it with another version of Powerpoint. Have you set Office to create back-up files of everything (perhaps you should in future?).
I would also open Applications > Utilites > Disk Utility and click 'Repair Permissions'.

  • I used my i pad for the first time to take pictures and videos. Do I download it on my I mac before using it as a power point presentation? I also want to separate my pictures and my videos?

i used my i pad for the first time to take pictures and videos. Do I download it on my I mac before using it as a power point presentation? I also want to separate my pictures and my videos? This also the first time that I'm using the apple support communities.

You can import the videos and photos using iPhoto or Image Capture on your Mac.
Connect the iPad to the Mac with the cable and launch either of those two applications on the Mac. Your iPad should appear as a device in the left side of the app. Click on the iPad name and then you should have access to all of the photos and Vidoes in the camer roll and you can import them onto the Mac.
Im not sure what the reference is to Power Point in this case. You can use the imported photos and videos in a Power Point presentation after you import them to the Mac.
Are you trying to create a Slide Show on the iPad? Is that what you mean by a Power Point presentation?
