Images imbedding in email

Recently when I attached images or jpgs/gifs to an email, they become imbedded and are not attached so that the recipient can save them.  Is this a setting issue?

In that case, you would be able to see the graphics on your phone too.
Click on "show html" in the message and "attachments" if there are any. However, depending on the format and size of the graphics ,t might take a very long time to load, since the resources of the handset are much less than those of a PC or notebook.

  • How to detect imbedded image inside GroupWise email?

    Hi,
    I am using GroupWise 8.0. I created a new mail and used File->Attachments->Attach Files...to attach files, and selected one MS WORD and one Excel file to attach to this emai. Then I launched Paint to open a jpg file name image.jpg, selected the image to copy to clipboard, and went back to the mail to use Edit->Paste to paste (embed) the image into this email, then send the email.
    Using Object API when I try to fetch the message, the attachment collection shows 3 attachments, one is MS WORD document with Objtype is egwFile, second is Excel file with Objtype again is egwFile, so far so good, then the third one shows name as image.bmp, BUT the Objtype also is egwFile (instead of egwOLEEmbedded)?? I used these statements to get the objtype of each attachment.
    AttachmentTypeConstants type;
    hRes = m_pGWAttachment->get_ObjType(&type);
    Where CComPtr<IGWAttachment> m_pGWAttachment;
    Is there a way to know that an attachment is an embedded attachment?
    Regards,
    Phong

    With mime you'd look for items with Content-ID headers....
    See the RFC on Compound HTML
    example
    multipart/related;boundary="turnip"
    --turnip
    text/html
    I am <b>html</b> here's an embedded pic <img src="cid:cabbage">
    --turnip
    image/jpeg
    content-id: cabbage
    encoded base64 stuff

  • Images sent via email are not attachments

    I upgraded to Lion and now, jpeg images sent via email are not attachments but are rather images embedded in the message. I want my attachments back!! Those I send images to are saying they can not save the files as there are no attachments. How do I fix this? Everything was fine with Snow Leopard and running a photography business has me sending images a lot. Clients used to "save" the images or "select all" because they were attachment files. Now they can only see the imbedded image that is not a file.
    Also, I used to send jpeg images to my Windows 7 Phone to build my portfolio when I had Snow Leopard and now with Lion I do not have files sent to my phone but the image itself which I can't save to my phone.
    HELP!

    Does the Control+Click work with PC's? My clients use PC's and they cant download the embedded images. One client specifically is a webmaster for a sports club I photograph at every sporting event. At the end of each event I may have 40 + photos downsized and sent to him to post on his site so each email will have 7 - 10 images.
    With Snow Leopard, the images would be attached files but also imbedded images on my end. On his end, they're attached files he could just select all and save then put on the site. Now he and other PC clients are saying he can only save one image at a time. This is a lot of work and seems a bit backwards to me.
    When sending to my Windows 7 Phone, the image is not embedded but shows up as an attached file which my phone then gives me the option to "save to phone". Now it's an embedded image with no options to save to phone.
    I will have a look at the Attachments Tamer but it seems crazy to have to buy an app for something that seems simple to fix on Apple's end.

  • When I attach images to an email they show as the image and not an icon.  Is there a way to make the attachment an icon?

    When I attach images to an email they show as an image and not an icon.  Is there a way to have them attached as an icon?
    When I send attachments this way some people can't save them.   They can see them but not save them.
    Any ideas?

    They are received as attachments, i.e. icons. What you see is the real image on your disk, and only if small enough to be displayed. Otherwise, they are small icons inserted in the text.
    Additionally, when you place an image in the message, you will find an option in the lower right corner, otherwise absent. Use it, if need be.

    You need to do the basic troubleshooting steps described in the User Guide, Appendix B.
    Restart phone
    Reset phone
    Restore in iTunes using a backup
    Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup
    If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure in the phone that needs evaluation by Apple.

  • With iPhoto 11 how is it possible to include the title of the photo with the image in the email?

    Hello. In an older verson of iPhoto I could includ a title or description with the photo image in an email.  With the Cloud and old Mobile Me emailing directly from iPhoto  ('11) I can't find a way to do it.
    Any help.

    Use the old way and set Mail as your email client of choice in the iPhoto Preferences.

  • Dynamic Image As A email Signaure

    Good Day All.
    I have the following code the will randomly get an image from a folder.
    It works Great.
    Now what i would like to do is add that image as an inline image in my email signature.
    eg
    <img src="http://websiteadd/getsingle.cfm">
    However this does not work.
    here is the code of the CFM page.
    <cfset imagesFolder = "#dirlocation##dirspace#images#dirspace#stock#dirspace#temp" />
    <!--- code to look in directory, choose one image at random --->
    <cfdirectory directory="#dirlocation##dirspace#images#dirspace#stock#dirspace#temp" filter="*.jpg" name="getPics" action="list"/>
    <cfset maxrows = getPics.recordCount/>
    <cfset startRow = randRange(1, maxrows)/>
    <!--- if one or more photos was found --->
    <cfif maxrows gt 0>
        <div class="showPic">
        <cfoutput query="getPics" startrow="#startRow#" maxrows="1">
    <cfheader name="content-disposition" value="attachment; filename=#name#.jpg" />
    <cfcontent file="#dirlocation##dirspace#images#dirspace#stock#dirspace#temp#dirspace##name#" type="image/jpg" />
            <!---<cfimage action = "writeToBrowser" source="../images/stock/temp/#name#" format="jpg" />
            <img src="../images/stock/temp/#name#"/>--->
        </cfoutput>
    </cfif>
    Is there anyway to do this.
    Regards

    If your IMG tag always shows an image, then any HTML email sent via CFMAIL should work fine, BUT (and it's a big BUT) you have no control over the client who receives the email. They may refuse HTML emails, or they may block IMG tags (for privacy concerns). When you said "However this does not work" what did you mean? Please explain.
    Creating a HTTP connection from the email to the image is also undesirable. It's probably better to embed the image, like this using a "data:" URL:
    <cfset ImgFile  =  "d:\somefolder\images\myimage.png">
    <cfset  ImgHeader = "image/png;charset=utf-8;base64">
    <cfset  ImgData = ToBase64(FileReadBinary(ImgFile), "utf-8")>
    <cfoutput>
    <img src="data:#ImgHeader#,#ImgData#"  alt="sig">
    </cfoutput>
    The data: URL includes the actual image within the IMG tag, so no outbound HTTP request to the image is required.

  • Missing images in distributon email

    I have created my form and distributed it through the Distribute Form. I sent the form to a couple of people in my department to test the form. In the email they receive, there appears to be missing images above and below the text I entered in the distribute form. The end user only sees the typical red outline with a small x in the corner indicating there should be an image. The email is sent via Lotus Notes email system.
    How do I display the image and where is it generated from?

    Hi,
    That is nothing to do with the form.
    You are distributing the form via Acrobat.com - which is perfectly fine.
    The red x is from the email client blocking the standard Acrobat.com header and footer:
    Clicking the download pictures, which show the images:
    Just note that these have nothing to do with the form itself.

  • I cannot open images in my email since the Firefox update. Help!

    I cannot open images in my email or view the embedded photo in a new tab since the Firefox Update. "IE" will let me open them, but not Firefox... How can I fix this?

    Hi Pat..When I tried to run Fix It the computer pops up a screen that says this trouble shooter does not apply to this computer .The article refers to Internet Explorer 10 and Im running Internet Explorer 11. I did try to see it it would fix my problem but the registry entry does not exist on my computer (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth) I can get as far as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer but I dont have the option to choose Main. I only have the option to choose New Window which does not open up when clicked. Internet Explorer also has no value. Is there anything else I should try?

  • Apple Mail - Load images for some email addresses automatically

    Is it possible in Apple Mail to put some email addresses on a white list so that the images within their emails always load?
    I don't want all images to load for every email I get, but I find it an annoyance to have to often load images from contacts I already trust.

    AppleScript to the rescue!  Thank you Linc Davis!!!
    Still find it strange Apple doesn't have this built into the Mail interface as an option and have to run a script [grumble].

    Hi. I'm not technically skilled, but based on the reply from the other guy re. AdBlock Plus being the common denominator to everyone's problems, I checked my Filter settings (ABP version 2.0.3) and deselected 'Fanboy's List (English)'. With this deselected and ABP still 'enabled' the messages work as usual.
    I only had this problem using Virgin Mail, so must be the way they now present their mail that conflicts with 'Fanboy's List (English)' filter. I guess I'll need toi choose another filter.

  • Resizing images in draft emails in Postbox

    Does anyone know how to resize images in draft emails in Postbox?
    Barry

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, stated.
    Open the image in Preview > Tools menu > adjust size, then drag to Mail.
    The type below the image should be an issue just tap "return" from the line the image is on and you should be able to type beneath it fine.
