Images in 'Album' blurry

This morning I went to look at some pics I took at the beach the other day...I have already viewed them in my Z3C several times...in the default Album viewer...no problem. This morning when I go to have a look again all the little thumbnails look blurry and several images are replaced by black with a white kind of triangle symbol...seemingly undisplayable. When I tap an image icon to show it...it either displays blurry or it doesn't display at all.
I've not done anything to any settings...I restart the phone and miraculously all images are now displaying correctly.
What's up with that?

Thanks...yes it was saving internally...not to the SD card.
It's ok now and has been for the last 16 hours or so...I do notice that images take a little while to sharpen when opened...even when you first go into the Album you can see the image icons 'building'/ sharpening...if you know what I mean.
I thought this was quite a powerful camera...is it because the images are of such high quality that it takes the camer a while to display them properly?
Also...does anyone know if this 'Album' viewer is any good or is there a better viewing app I should be using? I find the Album in the X3C to be a bit unintuitive.

How do I get my iPhoto 4 images and albums into iPhoto5?

Thought for sure I would find a FAQ listing for this but can't find it anywhere. I copied all my albums and images from CD back up into iPhoto5. But when I log out and log in and open iPhoto5 none of my old images and albums are there. I do see imported libraries for 2002, 2003, 2004 but they are empty. Sorry if this question is redundant (which I'm sure it is) but since I can't find a FAQ file anywhere…
Also, I have a G5 iMac at home and a dual G5 at work. Any way to specify which is which in profile

So you only have jpg files on those CDs, right? There are no other data files, album folder, etc. in there.
I copied all my albums and images from CD back up into iPhoto5.
By that do you mean you dragged them from the CDs into the open iPhoto window? If you dragged them into the iPhoto Library folder then that's the wrong way to do it. You must import the image files into iPhoto from outside the iPhoto Library folder. Along those lines here are two Apple KB documents that you should be aware of, particularly the second one:

What happened to your original iPhoto 4 library folder? Do you still have it intact? If you do then you can place it in your Pictures folder, launch iPhoto 5 and it will find it and tell you it needs to convert the library to version 5. Once done you should have your library converted you'll have everything back up and running, including the albums, rolls, keywords, etc.

How to get larger images in albums?

I just realized that when you click on a thumbnail in one of my albums, the larger image is actually smaller than the original photo! All the photos I've put into my web albums have been shrunk to fit into the album display area. For instance, a photo that normally displays about 7 inches high when I view in Preview, comes out about 4.5 inches tall when displayed in my web album.
How can I get it to display photos at actual size?

I think that's not possible in iWeb PhotoPages... As you choose one format for all. However to get larger images in albums click on a photo and a window will popup called "Photo grid". You can increase the size of the images displaying by reducing the spacing and/or decreasing the number of columns.

That's going to be a ridiculous waste of money and energy.
First of all, the current ATI drivers don't support multiple GPUs, so at the moment even a single 4870X2 would be only a 'normal' 4870 (which is quite a speed beast already). GFX drivers evolve rapidly, so things might look different next month, but when it comes to Linux and hardware there's one Golden Rule: stay away from the newest stuff and wait for proper support to get coded.
I also wonder what power supply could possibly cope with the differences between idle and full load; that's way beyond 400W. But then, I'm one of those "quiet&green" types where >100W idle is already a bit much.
I kind of understand that you want to get it done and not worry about hardware for the next 10 years or so, but that's simply not how the hardware world works and never did. At least not for the average consumer.

AppleScript Bug: Duplicating stacked images to albums

for anyone else using AppleScript, I encountered this bug a couple of nights ago. I've reported it to Apple.

The Aperture/AppleScript "Duplicate" command when used to add stacked images to albums does not work as expected.
(1) when stacked images are successfully added to the target album, they are added as masters rather than simple album items.
(2) if the source project is not selected in the Inspector, stacked images will not be added to the target album.
(3) "Duplicate" is not a suitable command for adding objects to albums and confuses scriptors. an additional "Add" or "Assign" command should be created expressly for this purpose.
Steps to Reproduce:

2. [SCRIPT] in a script editor, get the new project's ID:

(the work-around for removing 'masters' from the album is to unstack them after which they become 'normal' album items again.)

-> we now have 3 masters in the project.
11. [APERTURE] stack the first two images.

Expected Results:
whether stacked or not, images added to albums should be simple linked items, not masters, and which when deleted by pressing Delete simply disappear from the album without affecting the true masters.
Actual Results:
(1) stacked images added to albums are added as masters instead of linked items.
(2) stacked images cannot be added to albums if their containing projects are not selected in the Projects inspector.
(3) the use of the term "Duplicate" when applied to adding items to albums is confusing because the images aren't actually duplicated.
Regression:
Unstack all images before running any script that adds stacked images to albums.

I have noticed behavior with drag-and-drop working anomalously different for me than as reported by others. It has not yet been problematic, but definitely anomalous.
It sounds like the Aperture team should forget features improvements for a while and focus on stability.

Can I copy images from Album to Album

Can I "copy" images from Album to Album and then expect to be able to export that data into Keynote?
I put copy in quotes because I am such a new user I am not even sure at this point when I am copying or moving images as opposed to pointers.
But the bottom line is that I need to know if I can use the data in Albums that I see images in for a presentation.

Aperture 3 does have a few things that work in different ways than Ap2, but dragging images to albums is the same. Cut/copy has never been a feature. It works in a different way. Allan

Reduce File Size causes images to be blurry

I created a document in Pages '09 that contains several masked images, resulting in a really large file size. I clicked Reduce File Size to get rid of the cropped parts of the images. Unfortunately, the images are now blurry. Any way to mask or crop a picture, or use Reduce File Size, without loss of image quality?

The images are being reduced to 72dpi with no sharpening that I can see and the excess image outside the masking shape doesn't seem to get trimmed. I suspect you then saved to a pdf with a lower quality setting which would have given a 2nd reduction in quality on top of the first.
So the best option is to take your images into Preview, crop them, reduce their resolution and sharpen them then bring them back into your Pages layout before exporting to pdf.

Multipe images for album art?

So, you can add multiple images to iTunes for each track. Like, the album cover and an image of the liner notes, or the back cover, or, something like that.
I don't seem to be able to see those secondary images while using my 5G iPod that I synced after adding the images.
Is it possible to see multiple images for album art? Is my iPod even getting those secondary images?

Actually in a way you can do this, although you won't see the multiple images all at the same time. For an album you can actually have a different image for each track on that album. So for example you could have the cover for the first track, the back cover for the second track and so on. All you need do is browse info for each track and drop each image into each track separately.

Are we talking Edit>Preferences>General>Anti-Aliased Artwork?

In Photoshop Express, cannot sort images in album by filename in thumbnail view (for slideshow)l.

In Photoshop Express, I want images to appear sorted by filename. In the "view as a table" it sorts fine. When I revert to the thumbnail view, the arrangement is random. The dropdown "show" list does not offer an option for showing by filename. If I select the"custom" option, it means I would need to sort 300 images by filename MANUALLY (!!!), a job that a computer does in milliseconds. Anyone with a solution? Thanks.

fwiw, with my images in the 'Folder Location' view the photos are in order by their Windows filename. That is the same order as the hardcopy album the photos came from. So I then created a PSE Album. I selected all my photos and moved them into that album. The order of the pictures was retained in the Album. That worked out great. I wanted my PSE images to be in the same order. I thought I would do it with tags. But creating an album seems to work just fine.

Using iPhoto 08 editor causes image to be blurry.

When using iPhoto 08 to edit images, the photo and thumbnail become blurry but when the images is dragged onto the desktop and is viewed with Preview the image is clear but with out the modifications made during the edit in iPhoto. Any suggestions?

I have an aluminum MacBook with Lion OS. I have hooked up a Samsung external HD monitor, but the image is slightly blurry.I also see a message for a second which says Analog.What to do??

I have an aluminium MacBook and have just connected an external Samsung HD monitor. The image is blurry and I cannot seem to fix it.
The MacBook display is 1280x800 but the maximum for the external monitor is much higher. Also the external monitor sometimes displays a (rapid) message implying that it's getting an Analog signal.
How can I fix this??

FWIW, reformatting a USB disk is almost never an issue, and it's quick.
Buy a cheap external USB disk (regardless of the provided Windows or OS X or other disk format) (that's larger than your internal disk by some measure) and preferably buy a disk from a vendor that offers the right to return the disk if it doesn't work, connect the disk to your MacBook, wipe the disk and reformat it with Disk Utility, perform the backup (probably also using Disk Utility from the Utilities menu, while your MacBook is booted from the installation DVD), and then commence with the OS X upgrade.
